They are great my daughter goes to them for her deep conditioning and blow outs I would recommend this place to anyone they provide great customer service and very nice and on time my daughter will be there every 2!weeks for there busy I give it a 5 ⭐️ and it’s so easy to book with them and you seen soon a you get there I just love 💕 it all around great business

We started late, instead of just apologizing the gentleman wanted to debate why starting on time is unheard of. There was no concern about me being late for a wedding. However, my hair looked awesome!! 3 stars is for the poor customer service 😕

Wonderful experience! My hair looks great. This is BY FAR the most upscale Dominican salon I visited since living in NYC. Nothing against the other locations. It was nice to be in a well-kept establishment designed with excellent craftsmanship. My hair is not difficult to maintain. Its relaxed. Im content with a traditional rollerset and wrap.

I dont like doing bad reviews but I am not happy with my hair. When I booked the appointment I wanted a blowout with rollers. When I got there, I added to have my ends trimmed. I have natural hair and I had a blowout out before and it lasted almost 2 weeks. This didnt even last the entire day. There was no shine to my hair. Hair got frizzy quick. All he did was blow dry and flatiron. Hair was not wrap and i was not placed under the dryer.Next day I have a thick spot already in my head. I dont sweat alot especially not at home with ac on and I dont go nowhere. It was not the look I know I should have coming from a salon. This was a waste of my money.

It was wonderful. I got a blow out on my non-chemical treated hair.. Convenient online scheduling, respect for my time, and they did a wonderful on my natural hair. I will be going back whenever I need my natural hair redone. They are a one stop shop for other things as well. I plan to check them out.

Had a 10 am with Franklin, drove two hours from Winston and arrived about 9:20 am. At around 9:40 I went Into the shop to see if he had arrived which he didn’t so I called him To let him know I was there and he instructed me to wait, he was on his way. I waited patiently in my car to 10:05 until going back in and he still wasn’t there. As I sat and waited I overheard the barber speaking in Spanish statingHe would be there “a la hora” I’m not fluent in Spanish but I do know a little so I knew that Meant within an hour! I was not happy about the fact my 10am would now be pushed back to 11am without any communication from Franklin.There was a woman who took the initiative to began the process by washing my hair and putting in a deep conditioning treatment which seemed to make my hair dryAnd tangled! she took a lot of hair out detangling so I wasn’t happy about that! the products they use aren’t good either! Franklin finally arrived at around 10:57, no Acknowledgement, no apology, no professionalism. Meanwhile I’m sitting underThe dryer just waiting to be serviced, hair over-drying! When I finally was taken from under dryer my hair was so dry and still no product was put on to rectify. Franklin then instructed the same woman who prepped my hair to do my hair and went straight to servicing someone else by putting her weave in. I was so upset but just wanted to get out of there! I’m pregnant and had already been in the shop for About 2 hours already. The woman who did my hair was nice but she didn’t know how to do my hair, she kept passing the flat irons through one too many times and still unable to get it fully straight. By the time I left after three hrs and was in the sun my hair had completely frizzed up! My roots became thick again and my hair was no longer straight. Just a waste of time and money! I paid $70.00 and my hair didn’t even make it to the end of the night! If your ethnic I wouldn’t recommend you go here they don’t use the proper product and they don’t know how to do our hair! Again I made an appointment with Franklin because he did my hair prior and I was satisfied with how it came out but his professionalism is lacking. Maybe you have to be familiar for him to give good service because the woman’s who weave he was installing seemed pretty content; I wasn’t happy with waiting over an hour specifically to be serviced by Franklin only to be ignored and passed off to someone else so I will never patronize again. I ratherBuy my own products and do my own hair the right way or book a plane ticket back to Philly to get my hair and nails Done. I feel bad for the ladies here too many mediocre services from stylist/ nail techs when the service is lacking along with the customer service.

I booked online and came in wanting a whole new look. Franklin and his wife are a fantastic team, did an AMAZING job, and they were so nice. Franklin transformed my dark brown hair with BEAUTIFUL honey blonde highlights. Literally what I’ve always wanted. I love how family oriented the salon is and you really do pay for quality and professionalism! I will be a regular client at this salon. Thanks again!

I love the way they do hair. However their scheduling system needs some improvement. I had an appointment for 2:00 and waited for about 45 minutes to a hour. And I wish the owner would’ve came back to give me an expected wait time. But they do blow outs great!

I love this salon. I’ve been a repeat client for over a year now & Franklin does my hair and he is phenomenal. I have not had a bad experience yet. He is professional and knowledgeable and patient. I also love how he never burns you, your hair or scalp when blowing you out with the hair dryer! If you frequent Dominican salons you know this is a thing. I also love that I can book really fast or even last minute appointments through google or Booksy! It’s so convenient. The shop is nice and always clean!

Got my hair done by frankie and it was lovely I loved it. Nice lasted me a lil over two weeks. My hair is still straight as of now minus my roots will definitely go back.

I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews but I had an appointment scheduled yesterday with Franklin for 12:30. I got there a little early since it was my first time. I got there at 12. I waited patiently for 30 minutes while everybody avoided eye contact. 10 more minutes go by and a group of guys walk in that work there and I asked them for Franklin and got ignored. Then three customers come in, immediately get greeted and helped. I spoke/shouted if I was going to be helped, got ignored again so after an hour of waiting I left. I will never be back. I got my hair done at another place without an appointment immediately and quality was extremely high.

Loved my experience here at Amalay! Franklin did my Keratin treatment and was very professional. He explained in great detail what he was doing every step of the way as it was my first time getting it done. Also explained aftercare and what to do to make it last longer! Love this place and highly recommend

I went to my usual Dominican shop and they were closed, so I looked at reviews here and decided to give them a try and Im glad i did.I was able to walk in with no wait time. The shampoo was great! Franklin did an awesome job on my blowout. My hair is bouncy and he didnt even burn my scalp like most shops do. I will be back. I definently recommend this shop. Thanks again!!!

Stopped by on my lunch break to inquire about getting a shampoo and blowout. I have microlinks installed currently which may have posed a challenge and I wanted to be sure someone there could indeed service me. What started as a quick consultation turned into me actually getting the best and fastest blowout ever! Franklin was awesome! I was in and out in 1.5 hours just like he said! The staff was so sweet, I didn’t get her name but there was a lady that washed my hair & she was so nice, everything she did for me she had a smile on her face & laughed with me through out the process. Franklin slayyyyyed my hair ! He made sure everything looked perfect & also was a pleasure having conversations with everyone in there, I felt at home ! The stylist that was supposed to do my hair booked the shampoo girl to do my blowout. No one introduced themselves to me. I wasnt told what products were used in my hair and I could tell there was little knowledge on doing African American hair. Lastly I was told if I gave 5 stars I could get a discount on my next service as if Im going back. Dont believe the hype

My 9 year old daughter has thick, coarse hair and VERY tender headed. Ive never wanted to relax it and I was tired of the braids and crochet. My mom recommended the keratin and after doing research on countless salons and reading reviews, I came across Amalay Salon and let me tell you they did NOT disappoint!! Franklin is amazing!! He took his time with my babygirl and explained in detail what he was doing and the best way to care for her hair. We are definitely lifelong clients from here on out. Very impressed and the most important part, my daughter hasnt stopped swinging her hair since we left the salon!!! 😂 Very happy with my choice!!!

I called to see if there were any openings last minute for my daughter, they told me to bring her in and they did a phenomenal job with her hair. Their customer service was exceptional as well. A week ago a booked an appointment online. Only to learn the next morning via email that Franklin cancelled my appointment as he said he already had someone scheduled. So why was the time available online. I re-booked for another time and he cancelled on me again. It would have been nice for his online schedule to reflect what’s really available, otherwise why have it? I finally went in as a walk-in today, since making an appointment doesn’t seem to work. He advertises on a sign outside blowout start at $35. My hair is fine so it’s basically straight without flat ironing. He then says no blow outs are $45. I said she why is it advertises at $35? He says well that’s for a roller set. So why doesn’t the sign SAY roller set $35. It appears they mislead with the lower price to get walk-ins and then do a bait and switch when you get inside. I then shared ok I will take the roller set service. He then tells me if you go online I and give me a review with 5 stars I will do your blow out for $35. I said thanks but I don’t want to be told what kind of review to give you when I’ve not seen your work yet and just to get a discount. I’m happy with paying the $35 for the set, just smooth my edges and he agreed. He did as I asked. Then before leaving I look at my scalp up front and saw that it was flakey and white. How can this be after just having a shampoo. He then tells me that I had a good shampoo and had this happened before? I said no, I didn’t even have this when I walked in here. He then rubs what he called vitamin E on my scalp and said your all set. I asked him now that you rubbed that on my scalp will this compromise me hair still being straight? He said, look I’ve already done all I’m going to do for a $35 service.This young dude is extremely arrogant and NOT customer centric. I think he thinks he’s so talented that he does not have to offer great customer service or respectful communication. I went there bc my regular salon was closed. If I could have given zero stars I would. He does a decent blow out but he’s it not the best on ANY level especially service and skill. If you don’t mind giving your money away for mediocrity and rudeness then this is the perfect place to go to do just that. Just know that you’ll be finishing your hair at home even after you’ve paid for this service.

Stylists did an excellent job on my daughters hair. She has very long hair and they patiently took their time to do her hair and did not complain about it. We had two stylists to do her hair. We went back a 2nd time for a follow up appointment.

I was on assignment for a few weeks in Charlotte and Im so glad the rave reviews were accurate. The services I received were a wash, blowout and flat iron. Franklin did such a great job on my hair that I got it done twice while I was there.

The keratin Treatment is amazing and stays in my hair between 4-6 months, my hair is really curly but Keratin treatment help straight the hair with no frizz. The owner is super nice and friendly. Highly recommend Amalay Hair Salon for all your needs.

I had my infant with me and they never blinked, even gave him his pacifier when he fussed due to no attention during my lash service. Hands down, one of the best in Charlotte. Even open on Sunday.

Please DO Not go there for blow out. They will ruin your hair. I went there on sept 9th to get a blow out. I have been natural for 3 years. The service was great, I didnt have an appt but he was able to do my hair. I loved the way my hair looked at the end.But after washing it, i notice a great amount of heat damage.my hair is no longer curly. I have tried many protein treatments to revert it to its initial state(4C natural) but I have been unsuccessful. My only option is to chop it. DO NOT GO there
