The animals here are kept in really poor conditions, specifically the hamsters and other rodents that I saw. They had multiple hamsters in enclosures with barely any bedding for them to burrow and a sorry excuse for a hide that could barely fit one hamster in it. They were fighting just to get a spot underneath it. They all appeared stressed. The wheel looked like it was 50 years old and was WAY too tiny for a Syrian hamster. Not to mention those wire wheels are outdated and known to cause injuries to their feet. The size of the wheel was maybe big enough for a tiny mouse to run on but certainly not a hamster. This place made PetSmart and Petco look good as far as their care for small animals.. Not sure if the owner is uneducated on how to humanely care for pets or if they just don’t care. It was really sad to see. Would never spend a dime here.

They usually have a good assortment of fish and prices are reasonable. I pop in every now and then. Recently bought a beautiful Jack Dempsey and some extra large Amazon Sword plants.

Very clean and very well maintained store! The feeder rats are out so you can see them and they dont go to the back to retrieve them like some other weird places. They had a lot of small pets that are almost ready for sale so I like that they make sure the animals are ready before selling them. The reptile room was locked for understandable reasons but the lady let us in to look around with no problems. The workers are kind and knowledgeable. Lots of fish and birds.My dad use to come here when I was a kid in the 90s so Im happy to see that it is still clean, reliable and friendly.

Randomly went to this pet store today after a google search in the Charlotte area, and it was a pleasant surprise. Dont let the location fool you, this is the nicest pet shop I have seen in years. The staff was plentiful and friendly, the fish tanks were clean as a whistle, and the store was eclectically stocked with a wide variety. To top it off the owner was present and clearly supporting her staff. Would highly recommend.

Professionalism without pretension. Always on hand to help but never hovering or rude, not to mention they actually understand the animals in the store instead of the cue card explanations from the big box pet stores. If you value your time, money, and want friendly knowledgeable staff, you cant go wrong here.

Came here because of the good reviews but I was disappointed. I was confused because they had no actual pets for sale except for fish and rats. None of the birds were up for sale or the reptiles. I came here specifically because on their website they claim to have all kinds of small pets, birds/parrots, puppies, and fish. The only small animals they had were rats. And you can’t even look at their reptiles. They’re in a separate little room and most of them said ‘not for sale’. They did have a lot of pet products but nothing you can’t find at any other pet store. Only thing I will say is that their aquariums are very clean and well maintained.

I always look forward to seeing whats new fish they have. They are always willing to help. I really appreciate them.😀

Beautiful birds! My complaint is their cage set ups. Their blue and macaws cage size is great, but they have nothing in the cage that can stimulate her brain and natural habits. Shes always standing on the small, bad perch in the left corner of her cage. They have a sign on her cage stating that shell bite, which is true with any bird, but she was the sweetest thing ever. Whenever you wave at her, she waves back. Their Conure (I think, I couldnt see him) was in a happy hut and Im pretty sure I saw him chewing on it. If you didnt know, happy huts, or anything fuzzy or cotton, causes impaction and cant be removed unless a surgery is performed. The budgies seemed healthy except for one of the older ones. The English budgies didnt look very healthy. And like the the macaw, their cage set up sucks. All of their cages sucked. The Quaker seemed shy and stayed in one spot in a very, very small cage. The finches were packed in a tiny cage with little to nothing to do. They fed them all seed and have dowel perches. They have a budgie bundle which is honestly not even that great of a deal. 129 dollars for 2 budgies and a small 29 dollar cage, a cuttlebone, seed mix and some sort of bedding. Im not sure about the other animals, but the birds set ups were very disappointing. I wouldnt recommend this place.

Such a pleasure to know that this pet store has been around for years and still here through pandemic . Very knowledgeable and nice slection in fish . I highly recommend this place made me want to go bigger in my aquarium.

Stop by this place just to check out what kind of fancy they had. Was a little disappointed since they didnt had much to offer. On the other hand, they did had other kinds of fish that I founded to be quite the scale/size (really nice).

Staff was nice and knowledgeable and took time to explain about each fish. I was able to learn about the best options for the aquarium and how to keep my pets safe.

This place is Awesome! I got 2 gerbils from here back in December (the 5th to be exact) and they are doing wonderful! My mother bought he pets from this store when she was a little girl and she loved this place, Glad I can share the experience with her!

My Frenchie loves to come here because they always pet him and give him treats. The selection of high quality products is huge. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. The prices are reasonable.

They sell their ferrets from Marshal Farms, please I implore you to look into that company on your own. I just had to bury my ferret of 2 1/2 years of love and regret. She was half the size of a normal healthy ferret from day one and never got better, her color was beautiful but unnatural because of breeding methods, and she suffered from Adrenal (VERY common from Marshall Farm animals our vet told us) and had been an udder heartbreaking experience. I looked into Marshal farms after all the run around with them, and it’s horrid. Half the life span of normal animals. Please get rid of your business with marshal farms, aka Marshal BioResources.

Just found this place. It has super friendly and helpful staff. They have a wonderful in-store pet macaw who is as beautiful as she is smart. It is not a large shop but they have a big selection of fresh water fish. I found out that even if they may not have what you need, they will order it and can get it perry quickly. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Bought a iguana and the animal was totally sick when they sold it... but it was my first reptile and I had no clue. Called them back the same day to say the iguana was infested with mites( again my first time seeing this) they said bath it and all of a sudden death 5 days later. They didn’t replace the pet sad.

LOve this place they always have what I need. Very clean pet store with great workers! No matter what side of town I move to I always come here to get my live feeder fish. Been coming here at least 10 years now!

I will never shop at another pet store again!! This place is GREAT!! This is where we buy our dog food now. They carry a great variety! They pack a lot into a small, cool place. The employees are extremely helpful and friendly. We also buy bird seed there in bulk. I like that this is a small business in my community that we can support. They have a wide range of pets there who appear to be very well cared for. The experience going to this store is much more relaxed than going to PetSmart or something. Its less obnoxious and overwhelming. I love bringing my kids here. We really love this place.

Really positive vibe in this place. Outstanding service, friendly staff and really clean environment. Soon as I stepped in noticed right away the cleanliness and greeting from everyone there. I mentioned, what a difference from the last place I went before. I relocated here and been searching for a place for feeders and found what Ive been looking for.

I love this store! My son purchased his first pet from here(Guinea pig)and it was the best decision ever! The starter kit came with everything we needed and plenty of it for a reasonable price. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, super helpful and knowledgeable! Unlike a lot of chain pet stores who are just there to sell items. I was very happy and relieved to see this store open and operating(safely) during the pandemic as well. I use the store for ALL my familys pet needs and will continue to do so.

I used to come to this pet store years ago because its in my neighborhood and I would always purchase freshwater fish. But now Im into saltwater fish so I stop by there to see if they had any and they didnt. But its always a nostalgic feeling when I go inside the store for some reason. I looked around and I decided to purchase a parakeet why I dont know I just wanted to buy one so they were very friendly and helpful as always. I will definitely be back to visit. I have been coming to LPOE for roughly 3-4 years now. Hands down, not your typical pet store, in the best way possible. Every one there loves the animals, and they are all really knowledgeable on care, and receptive if something is off. Staff is also super friendly! Plus, Smiegal is always a blast to see, along with Ziggy!

Enjoyed the store one lady was very helpful and knowledgable. The other lady rushed and wasnt as friendly. She wasnt nice to kids either. Instead of talking to them like kids she said dont touch that and walked away. If it wasnt for the nice lady I would have left.

I enjoyed the birds! They are loud but the one that talks is hilarious! I went there for my Beardie though. They have a variety of animals and things for them. They have fresh food you can buy for your bearded dragons. I hear some videos say no spinach but they give their beardies spinach. Most of the employees are helpful. I would go back but not often.

Great place to shop for your pet. In & out quickly

I really love this place because it’s close to home and their fishes are always very healthy. This was legit my favorite place but I’m afraid I will not be buying anymore reptile supplies from them. A couple of weeks ago I went to their shop and saw some snake hides and wood branches at the ‘clearance’ section. I thought I had gotten a good deal and I had doubts about why these cool decor pieces were so cheap but they all had minor damages on them so I thought it was why these items were discounted. Today I picked up my ivory ball python and to my surprise he has these tiny black dots on him. These are MITES. I had dealt with mites before and it is not fun. Now I know why these items were discounted. They are more infested! Thankfully I only used their stuff in two of my tanks but mites spread rapidly! I hope they do better in the future and just toss out the infested items next time instead of reselling it. Imagine if I didn’t have experience with mites before hand? And I filled out other possibilities as I have not added a new snake to my collection or been anywhere with infested snakes. These decors are the only thing that I brought in that could be the culprit. I don’t even think there is anything to be done at this point but I just think people should know.

Went in to the store to get fish aquarium items and the worker’s point to the wrong items and just watched me like I was going to put a fish in my pocket 😂 I would recommend pet smart there cheaper and much more care over there I shop at the ikea Blvd store in Charlotte nc

The shop is very well kept and the employee where very knowledgeable about their pets. They had all kinds of cool looking fish, the coolest were those that can glow in the dark!They also have a lot of birds such as finches and budgies of all different colors, they have a huge parrot that can talk it was so cute! I really recommend this place!

Horrible experience. Nobody greets you when you walk in.I went in to view reptiles, and the staff member, or whoever it was wouldn’t even let me back to view the reptiles, before asking “do you plan to purchase today”, well maybe if you’d let me back to see them to get a better view of them, I would be purchasing. But the whole atmosphere of the place told me all I needed to know. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend.

Last place on earth has been around for some time and actually was a 4 store enterprise for a time. Fish section and other animals are usually well kept. Looses stars for the puppies, probably puppy mill sourced since no reputable breeder sells to a wholesaler. Im not saying only rescue dogs, but definitely dont buy one at a pet shop.

They went out of their way to help my children find the best suited pets for them. My son has special needs and was very afraid of the parrot, they were understanding and kind enough to put him in his cage while we were there. We interacted with at least 3 different staff members and each one was pleasant and helpful. They have a very healthy and cute selection of guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and birds. (fish and others as well but we were mainly on the other side) I highly recommend them and will be back. Thank you, Sarah!

The only place Ill buy Dubia roaches. Ive bought roaches from Petco that had parasites, pet supermarket has roaches that are okay but overpriced. Ultimately, Last Place on Earth is currently the Only Place on Earth I trust to get good, healthy dubias. Dubias from other places will just up and die on me, with theirs you can set them aside for a month and come back, theyll all be a-okay. Four stars for the parking situation though, its not great.
