Used their service in past (satisfied) but this time was horrible.π₯Ί Brought in John Deere rider. 1st noticed sign outside Not responsible for stolen equipment on their property π€ 2nd- employee made sure he let me know he would NOT be assisting with removal from truck. 3rd -after picking up rider it kept shorting out, battery leads were full of corrosion. It cut beautifully but kept shorting out fuses. Over $430.00 prompted this review. I called back and I was told they changed the fuse.. Now mower is in another shopπ€π€π€π³Be careful READ ALL signs, Ask Questionsπ€π€Good LuckβΌοΈ
For know is that, later maybe change, because sometime grong happen
Three arent a lot of places to get a tune up or repair for a lawnmower, edger, or other small engine powered lawn tool. At least, not many that I know of. They seem to do a good job, and as far as I can tell, dont spoof you on the repairs. The prices seem in line, but again, dont have a lot to compare to. Ive had two or three mowers, a tiller and an edger tuned up and repaired here. Im pretty satisfied and the work appears to be quality work. So I presume you could do worse elsewhere, and I dont run a landscape business, and Im not aware of many other repair places around. With all that said, I would recommend this place due to the good results Ive had thus far.
This place provides sales and service for all lawn equipment! The peeps at the sales counter give great customer service and are very knowledgeable about their equipment!
Good communication and followup on fixing my lawnmower.Very reasonable price!
Great service offered alternative to my carburetor issue. I rebuilt the carburetor and will try to start the mower after some football of course.
Bought new mower. Started once and quit. Took back and mechanic promptly resolved issue. Runs great. Fixed quicker than the refund and purchase another process, required at the box stores. Thats the main reason for choosing a store that repairs.
Great place for ordering parts for your lawn mower, I had gone there to order a dip stick for my push mower but I had written down the wrong model number, so I goes back to the house got my mower come back Mike got the right number and said itd be a couple of days and hell give me a call when my order is back. Hes really courteous, respectful and understandable I would highly recommend him to anyone that need help with there mower.
They are great hopefully theyll be o get our new bobcat mower. Financed
Had mower that I questioned if worth fixing. Counter man was helpful. Repair was backed up but that was expected. Try to avoid on Saturday.
Always a great experience. π
Ok they didnt have my part but its ok thanks
Jerry is an unbelievable patient human being. We bought a home back in August and it came with a ride on mower. Jerry was able to fix the mower and get it running at a very reasonable price. About 2 weeks after we got it, I accidentally drained the battery. Jerry made 3 separate trips to our house until the mower was fully functional again. We will definitely be coming back should we need anything serviced on the mower. We highly highly recommend.
Very helpful staff.
I have been getting lawn equipment serviced for 20 years in Charlotte and these guys are by far the best. I have had Push mowers, zero turn riding lawn mowers, chainsaws, weed eaters and blowers serviced there and it has always been done correctly. Their pick up and delivery service is very economical at $45 which saves me a lot of time. Just today the owner took the time to add string to my weed eater spool. It is such a pleasure to do business with them and know that it will be done right every time. The employees are always courteous and responsive. Thanks so much
Love their service and wisdom
I got to give 5βS, the gentleman that waited on me were courteous, friendly and very respectful, he explained it would be 4 to 5 days, before he can get to it because they were back up, he did informed me that hell be able to sharpen the blade and I can pick it up the following day, so I did and he apologized to me that he couldnt get to it, really impressive.
Friendly.Very knowledgeable.
Friendly staff, great repair service for my rototiller.
I bought an Echo weed eater and blower here a little over 5 years ago. My blower was giving me trouble recently and I took it to LOL to repair it. Long story short, Jerry offered to replace my blower with a new one, even though I didnt have the receipt and it was just out of warranty. I had tried to repair it myself, to no avail, and instead of charging me more than the blower was worth, he gave me a new one. Also gave me my deposit back. This is the level of service you receive from a family owned and operated business. I wouldnt have received that from Home Depot around the corner. I will tell everyone I know to go to Lay of the Land. Thanks Jerry and Team.
I was really impressed with Lay of the Land. I was having issues with my mower, but I know nothing about mowers. The guys there worked to answer all my questions, get me scheduled for a pick-up, and explain pricing. I was called with a quote and asked if I wanted to proceed. I asked a LOT of questions about what needed to be fixed and why, and they were very patient. They really wanted me to be satisfied. The work was done well and was affordable compared to other businesses. I will forever be a customer of Lay of the Land. Thanks, guys!
They will take your lawn mower for repair and get rid of it. We took ours there in April, stopped in MANY times to check on it and see if it was ready and they could never find it or the paper work for it. They finally produced the paperwork and said they had tried to contact us 5 times, 3 times in one day and 2 times another day, no messages left at all. They sold our mower and now we do not have one. Terrible company!!
Shop has what you need for a little more in price but they give you personal service with attention to detail
Love these guys. They know what they are talking about. You will pay the same or less than at the big boxes, but you will actually receive knowledgable advice about what to buy and how to use it, and they stand behind what they sell if adjustments or repairs are needed. Also have good prices on fencing, pine needles, etc., and will install, provide gravel, move dirt, etc. One-stop shop.
Yeah. If you plan to buy here dont expect a full refund. The equipment didnt work. I never got to use it because it never worked. Even though the receipt doesnt mention it, they didnt give a full refund because they said they had to charge me for using the debit card. They deducted $25 from the return. Unbelievable!
My favorite mower has been laid up for over a year. Upon trying to start it, it gave a belch of white smoke and went back into its coma. Id taken another mower in to Lay of the Land previously and they did a great job. I knew that at this time of the year the wait could be considerable. As it was, they said about two weeks. I decided to have them sharpen up the mulching blades while it was in there. Busy place at times, but Ive always been pleased with the service and products from here. Like working with local small business rather than big box stores most of the time. More personal and I think they try harder.
DING DING DING.... CONGRATULATIONS........... You win the second place prize for best sign in Charlotte..... we have a winner. Just so you know the first place prize goes to Cajun Queen right down the street. So you look at the sign to this place. It is very epic and abstract. It has the globe cut in half and bricks connecting the two halves together with a basin in the middle. This place is quite creative with signage.
This place is great. The service and knowledge cant be beat. Ive been in landscaping for 15+ years and this is my #1 got to for equipment, parts, and service. They always get me what I need and dont waste my time trying to sell me something I dont.
What nice people and what a great place to buy lawn equipment! I just purchased my first ZTR, a Raptor made by Hustler. Jerry Jr., (the owner) delivered it to me promptly and took time to show me how to drive it and work it. I couldnt be more pleased!
Never had a problem here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I stopped in here shopping for a good residential 21 mower. It seems that they may target the commercial guys as the selection of small mowers was lacking, there may have been 4-5. Also there wasnt a big selection of other equipment and things werent organized. The staff was pleasant but it seemed they had their hands full with customers dropping off equipment for service.
Be careful when you buy that you ask clear questions about their return policy. Their receipts state no returns on special orders, but I was refused a return on an unopened item merely due to their in ability to manage their supply projections. They stated they over ordered generators and would not take it back. I was advised to sell on Craigslist. I had planned to spend $600 on hedge clippers and you can imagine I wont be buying there. Completely poor customer service along with poorly written policies. This is not the usual customer service Ive gotten here over they pat several years. Will be sad and unfortunate to find another place to take business.Update:I am completely astonished at the conversation with the owner. Their website states they are family owned and maintaining customer relationships is one of our top priorities..., but clearly that is only a tag line. He stated a special order is when he has to place a special order, not necessarily when a customer places their own special order. I usually go on what the receipt states. I was also told you cant want it today and not want it tomorrow. The attitude of this owner is just beyond me. Clearly generators is a touchy and sore subject for them!
Took in my zero turn mower expecting the pump to by replaced, they found a loose belt. How many places would have went ahead and changed the pump? This place is awesome!
Great small business for outdoor lawn equipment. Great service and prices.
Need ur mower fix or weed eater they are the best in town with decent prices u cannot go wrong trust me n it better than buying a new mower etc etc
I always go there for all my lawn mower needs
When you gotta have it today they have it! Good service paying cash. No discounts.
Very helpful when looking for a part. Will be coming back for sure.
Great customer service!
Very helpful and answered my questions. Quick service. Will go again
Great service! Taking care of priority chainsaws and generators before storm
I had these Clowns do work on a 575 husqvarna and they lost my saw,and ignored my calls and I had paid almost a 1000 bucks for it, they clearly dont no what they are doin,DO NOT USE THESE GUYS,What a joke
Their employees were in a hurry and sold me the wrong equipment. When I showed the guy what kind of saw I had, he wouldnβt believe me. Acted as if I was an idiot. Not a good feeling as customer. I was so frustrated I told him to keep the damn chain. Thatβs how I get treated over 24 dollars. Very unprofessional and un-organized.My friends who spend big money here will be notified****stay away****
Very helpful no pressure to buy anything
They always find a solution to the problems with equipment that I have brought to them. Quick and effective.
Great service and great prices.
Been in business for over 15 years, spent a lot of money at different mower shops. Lay of the Land is by far the best service/sales store in the Charlotte around surrounding areas.
