We moved cross country from CA to SC. Smartbox has the best rates of all pod style moving companies. Andre dropped off the boxes at the storage facility in Chatsworth, CA on time and without any issues. They arrived on time as scheduled in SC by Randy and were put exactly where we wanted them. Very courtesy drivers and customer service. They are training new CS reps, so call times are a little lengthy, but its the current situation and should not reflect on the company as a whole. Will definitely recommend.
We ordered a smart box because we got married in MN and moved to Charlotte, NC. The container was picked up on June 9th from MN. We were told that it would be shipped that day and we would be receiving it in the next 7-10 business days. After a week and a half, we tried calling to get an update on the status of our box. We waited on hold for 3+ hours just to have the call dropped. After finally getting on the phone with someone, she said I dont know where your box is and put us on hold for 50 minutes. When she finally realized we werent hanging up she came back we were told that it would arrive in Charlotte on June 24th (which is already much later then what we were told).WE got a lot of people to come help us and ordered pizzas. We got home from work and the box wasnt there. We called multiple times and 2 hours later we finally got a hold of someone. They told us that somehow our box missed the 14th shipment date (we were never told it wouldnt ship out for 5 days after pickup) and that it wouldnt be arriving in Charlotte until early July. ONE MONTH AFTER PICKUP!!! This was again after being on hold for 50+ minutes after the initial contact. We asked for a manager and she said, they dont have a direct line and arent in today. I can give you their email. The last 2 days I have emailed 4+ times a day and HAVENT HEARD ANYTHINGBACK. Our bed and all necessary things for living are in that box and we have NO IDEA where it is! We cant get a hold of anyone. Our contract has been breached, weve been lied to and are left high and dry in Charlotte with none of our stuff. IF YOURE READING THIS PLEASE COMPLAIN!!! We cant get ahold of ANYONE and we need our stuff. Its been 3 almost 4 weeks and have no idea where anything is. And smartbox, get it together. Please respond to us.Sincerely a very upset and unhappy customer demanding a FULL REFUND.
Scam alert!Company was supposed to arrive on Saturday. Nobody showed up. Attempted Saturday and the following Monday to reach someone. Left messages, waited on hold just to be disconnected, and even requested a call back. No one ever returned our call.Having to go through the bank to get a refund for services that were never rendered.Will definitely be filing a complaint with BBB.Would not recommend unless you want a company to take your money without providing a service.
I loved using Smartbox. It is by far the BEST customer service experience Ive ever had. They are very communicative for deliveres and pick ups. When I had an issue or concern it was so easy to get an actual person on the phone and they helped me within minutes. I would definitely use them again. I thought their prices were reasonable and they were cheaper than using a POD.

Lies after liesThey also blocked my Facebook app review so I had to leave a 2nd review using uncookied browser.1) We had scheduled over the phone last week for aDROPOFF for today, Monday, June 25th, yet when I called to give them the number of our building concierge in the city, Erica said the boxes are not even here yet, and wont drop off until Friday. The phone system takes forever, both waiting on the line and saving a pot on the queue. They open at 9am and its been dragging on until 10:28am.2) I called again because it all sounded unreasonable. Spoke to a manager, Lauren, she said another rep made a mistake and nothing has arrived yet and no one can do anything, yet we had scheduled with our concierge and movers already. Lauren then told me that she could not speak to me anymore on the phone because my husbands name is on the contract, my name is not on the contract and she refused to discuss with me further, or be accountable for the mistake on their end.3) Manager Lauren said that the delivery date on our contract was 6/25. My husband then checked the contract-- There is NO SET DELIVERY DATE! She outright lied to me.4) Erica said the rep who spoke to my husband on the 21st name is also Lauren. Im starting to wonder if its also a lie.
