Very good selection. Many types of produce of good quality. I found everything I needed, and even got some recipe tips from the cashier! (Hot and sour soup) My only disappointment was the live seafood deli area is closed, but in current times thats understandable. Still a 5 star spot for me.

Im in love with this place! Amazing selection in all departments. I went looking for mochi (several options available) and found so much more. The frozen section was especially good for many types of steamed dumplings, which is on my list for next trip.Market was clean, lots of room to navigate easily and staff was super friendly. Easy in and out parking with plentiful space.Definitely going back soon!

Good Asian market and smells like one too. I only buy certain things here so Im just rating from my limited experience.Look for best by or expiration dates on packaged and canned foods. I bought a couple things that were past date.As of this review, they are requiring everyone to mask...so bring your face pamper...

They have a huge selection of items and the prices are right. All the prices are clearly marked. The produce looks and tastes fresh and the kimchi rocks. I like shopping at this locally owned grocery store. Don’t take it for granted, focus on what matters and try something new.

Love different selections. Could be a bit mor organized but great selections for great prices and nice people.

Better than has none. This is one of the Oriental grocery stores in Charlottesville. Theres not much items comparing with other Asian markets. A lot of stuffs on shelves and floors that not very orderly in places. A nice thing is you use mini-cart provided inside the store.

I only went there for canned jack fruit. Price was reasonable. It looked like it had good selection of other products.

Very comprehensive East Asian foods store with a wide range of products at much lower prices than what you can find in international foods stores. I go here to find a diverse variety of items for Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cooking and Ive never had a problem with quality of ingredients that Ive bought here. Always well stocked, organized, and clean.

Yes their no H mart or 99 Ranch Market,but I do love their staff and they do try. Their Tofu is delicious, spice aisles are on point and they have a good vegetable selection.

They sold a open noodles packet, taped with a transparent tape so it is hard to find. Extremely unfortunate that they would do something like this.

Tons of good stuff thats hard to find around here. highly recommended for vegans-- these foods are much less likely to contain milk, and everything i saw had ingredients listed in english. expect to leave with some red bean buns, mochi, and dumplings 😍

Stay away fro this Asian market!!! I wish I could give a negative score. I bought a soy milk and it was bad. The cashier refused to refund me in the beginning knowing the whole batch was problematic. After I told the cashier my friend returned the same thing yesterday, the cashier told me that she didnt know how to operate the return process on the machine. Then I asked a guy at back and he told us to wait for 20 minutes. This is INSANE! I have also bought bad fried Tofu, and found food expired for more than 2 years on the shelf. They dont care about their customer at all.

I like this place! The selection is pretty varied as far as brands and origins go. Im happy to be able to buy garam masala from an actual store as opposed to ordering it online like I used to. Also, Im seeing a lot of things I grew up with, and I always end up getting a snack from the impulse aisle! Not to mention Id like to buy all of their cute dishware sets.All in all, its definitely worth the 45-minute drive from out of town. =)

Well, first there is the wide variety of vegetables, the best sweet potatoes (Korean) lots of seeds and grains and noodles, and a wide variety of sauces, frozen foods and fun Asian hospitality items. Our family has a pick one thing you have never tried before attitude for our shopping, and for us its a great place to explore flavours and textures, and lots of new foods added to our diet as a result.

If were talking about product selection this is the best place to go for Asian style goods if youre anywhere within an hours drive of Charlottesville; however the prices of products arent always actually labelled so you might not know the price of something youd want. Also no bathroom. Would definitely go there again because I love Oriental stuff but itll be annoying and I wont have a good idea of how much Ill spend.

Watch the cashier upon checking out because they will over charge you for items. I bought an assortment of ramen and was aware of the prices. Upon checking out the cashier scanned everything as usual however close to the end she scanned a more expensive type of ramen. She then proceeded to remove all the other ramen at the cheaper price and then charged all ramen for the expensive price. Unfortunately for me I didn’t realize what had occurred until I was home And looked at my receipt. Will not be going back.

I love shopping here for noodles, meats and condiments. They have a lot of variety and a friendly staff. There seafood is tasty and they have items that are typically not available at a regular grocery store.

Good place to find things for raw feeders... like frozen quail, pidgeon, hen, silkies, quail eggs, organs from cow, pig and goat.Also a great selection of ramen, rice and seasonings... honestly a pretty good place and the service is not bad either....Just a heads up, because of Covid 19 they require you to wear mask, no mask no service... I have seen a lot of people upset because they couldnt get in and their website or info here doesnt mention it.

Very well stocked, some great tofu and they have my favorite frozen red bean buns. Ive been able to find everything I need for Chinese, thai, and Korean recipes Ive made!

This is a very well stocked Asian supermarket. Beside the condiments, fresh and dry noodles, and delicious, fun Asian confections, they have a decent selection of fresh produce. You cant beat their mushroom selections or the price of them. The more obscure mushrooms, that in other stores can be hard to find, are very reasonably priced. They also have a fairly large section of kitchen wares, rice cookers, bowls, plates, chopsticks etc... Everything youd need to make a wonderful Asian meal. I highly recommend this store.

I like to shop here for some pre-packaged items, but here are few things to be mindful of.. I once saw raw meat dropped in the back prep area and then picked back up and continued to be prepped. I dont eat meat so Im not affected personally, but yeah. Watch for expired items and spoiled produce. A lot of items are not priced and/or labeled in English.

This place has just about everything I need from an Asian grocery store. The people running the place are friendly. The produce section can be a hit or miss, but they have a great variety on their shelf items (soy sauce, fish sauce, ramen, noodles, etc.). Also, they have a section selling Asian cooking and eating utensils. Always plenty of parking, but can be tricky to get to if you’re going south on 29. You’ll have to do a u-turn to get here.

This is a typical oriental store in that it has a lot of items you cant find elsewhere for much cheaper than you can get online. Its a little small in terms of the items available, but the items they do have are of nice quality. The store is clean and doesnt smell too much like an Asian food market, so that was a plus too. I just wish they had more variety.

Just moved here from northern va and decided to pop in to see what they had...Produce section was horrible! Thai peppers were covered with mold, couldn’t believe they were still out for sale. I ended up buying chives and Napa cabbage... got home ready to wash I realize the chives were no good, so old that they were slimy, ended up throwing it in the trash!The Napa cabbage I cut/split and to my surprise a nasty worm! I was in shock!Buyer beware!They do have a decent selection of dry goods and Asian candy for kids and that’s about it.

Very clean upscale Oriental grothery store. Very nice produce though a bit limited. Wide variety of simmering sauces, dressings, pre-prepared food. Well stocked frozen food section. Lots of noodles; lots of supplies for hot pot.Fish is mostly frozen.

Fresh produces which need to be weighed have no unit price printed on the receipt, what on the receipt given to you after you paid only have the total price, and sometimes the cashier makes mistake on the unit price--often higher than the price tag, which results in higher total price!i dont think it is a tough job to give customers a detailed receipt like the other supermarkets do. maybe they do it on purpose so that no one will return to argue the price with them!

Offer varieties of foods and snakes from Asian markets. You may not find everything for a very specific brand but I think you can always find an alternative here for your Asian cooking needs. Oh you need to do is ask the front desk. If you really looked for something special of which they dont carry in their store, ask them if they can order for you with a wholesale price. They would sometimes do so its important to check with them before you get frustrated finding something. They have their inventory control pretty well. I dont find expire foods here yet. But please do mind that it could happen so please always check the expiration date on a food label.

I recently made a trip to Cville Oriental to see if they had ingredients to make hot and sour soup and was amazed by the large selection of products. Ive been to two other oriental markets and they would always be missing more than a few items. After a while shopping, a really nice employee asked if I was finding everything ok and halped me find everything off my list. She even helped me find an item that many other markets hadnt even heard of. The service and care put into helping me find everything item was beyond amazing. I would up making the soup and it was delicious. Im only ever going to shop here for all my asian cuisine needs.

Not a huge selection but what they did have was exactly what I was needing. Wish they had more Korean items but I didnt walk away disappointed. Not at all. Its clean and smells like a typical grocery store. Also a local mom and pop we need to support. I cant wait to shop there again. Kids got to find their favorite snacks and treats and I found my pantry needs.

Huge oriental supermarket. Not just Chinese foods, but all kinds of Asian delicacies, ranging from fresh bok choy, to live crabs, to Indian curry powder, to bamboo steamers, to explosively hot dried Japanese fish...

I came across expired food/unfresh vegetables several times. Though its a small part, you must be very careful! Now I only buy some seasoners here.

Great place to get random stuff, hard to find imported items, and varieties of Ramen from all over SE Asia.

They have a wide variety of noodles, from dry to wet, from wide to thin, from round to flat, from rice to grain! If you need a special kind of noodle, come and look here!

Staff very nice but were out of both ginger and Thai chilies. We have, next Tuesday I had driven a long distance to shop and was annoyed.

Though much more expensive than those in NOVA, this is the place you get the genuine Chinese ingredients in Charlottesville. But go with someone who speaks Chinese because English labels on the products can get really confusing and misleading.Update on 4/2/21: store closes following random schedules that is never really updated on Google maps. Go at your own risk.

I stopped by there for the first time today to see about some noodles. I had to leave very quickly as I began to gag. The place has a very prominent stench of rotting food! I didnt feel like I could trust anything in the place. YUCK!
