I love Kilwins! I first had them on vacation in Florida, and was so excited when I realized we had one in Charlottesville. My fiance put it best when he said, its like picking all the best candies out of the Christmas sampler pack. If you like peanut butter and chocolate, you MUST get a buckeye! The ice cream is also wonderful. You just cant go wrong with anything they have.

If chocolate and dairy decadence is your thing then you’ve gotta hit up this spot in the most happening area. The fragrant fresh fudge and chocolate greets you upon entry and the ice cream is full of flavor, a great way to top off your evening!

Ice cream was good. Always enjoy ice cream that is churned carefully. Unfortunately, they are not peanut allergy friendly. They did not have a separate scooper or ice cream containers for that purpose. Someone with me had to go next door to the gelato place to feel more comfortable. This place also has loads of candy and fudge options. Couldn’t tell you if good or not since we didn’t order. They did look good though.

If you haven’t had the Marsh-Mallow Smore flavor ice cream then you should. It’s so good I can never bring myself to try anything else. My kids fight over this stuff.

The chocolate and marshmallow or better yet chocolate covered marshmallow at this place is just built different. The packaged chocolate(in bags instead of on the display) is expensive but the taste is definitely quality. Not a cheap place but definitely well worth it for the occasional sweet tooth.

Fudge tasted good, but the almond toffee bar was stale. The hazelnut truffles had no hazelnut flavor. Its a cute shop but their chocolate quality is low.

Went tonight after eating on the downtown mall and it was so bad I had to throw it away. The ice cream was freezer burnt and the waffle cone was so hard I could hardly break it off to eat. Staff wasn’t super friendly either. Much better options for ice cream.

Best ice cream ever.

Place is in free fall the past year. The ice cream is tasteless and a mass of thick creamy flavor. We tried a chocolate today which felt stale. And we got a hot chocolate which was not slow cooked and thick and rich as it was in past years but made on the spot with powder and milk which wasn’t even mixed properly. I don’t know what these guys are doing but the prices feel like they keep going up and the dessert just gets worse. I’m done with this place and I just wish chaos stayed open longer. Oh and now they’ve started to subtly push tipping on customers as well.

Good ice cream flavors, tried cville mud and chocolate based flavors are good.

We had an apple pie carmel apple, it was very good and the prices were reasonable.

I had some of their peach ice cream and it had little flavor and a strange texture since the ice cream was no more than vanilla with some sliced peaches thrown in. I took a small box of their milk chocolate turtles and again no rich chocolate or caramel taste. My partner liked his chocolate chip ice cream but for $27 it was not worth it. At all.

Ice cream is a little pricey, but its very much worth it. So creamy!

The staff was warm and welcoming, especially to our special needs son whom is large and flaps around alot. Their credit card machine was out of order, and they tried to give him his cone for free using one of their personal employee scoops. We had cash, but were blown away by their willingness to please customers! Truly a family establishment in Charlottesville, we will be back!

This place is a must go, ice cream, fudge, chocolate dipped anything, truffles, Carmel popcorn made all sorts of ways my favorite is the nutcracker. Its my piece of heaven.

The selection of decadence is excellent! I got a sugar rush just walking in. Huge rounds of fudge, dipped apples so covered in chocolate/caramel/goodness that theyve nearly gained an inch in circumference, chocolate slathered marshmallows the size of my hand - its legendary. I must return, but if I do, Im not sure if Ill be able to resist buying one (or two) of everything.

Big fan of dark chocolate! Loved the dark chocolate cashew turtle I enjoyed while walking on the downtown mall on a late August Friday evening. Perfect ending to a great night in one of my favorite locations!

As good as it is, $5.00 for a single peanut butter cup is ridiculous. The fudge is to die for, and the ice cream flavors are great. The staff is attentive, if not overly friendly (some seem not to want to be there).Ive been to this location numerous times, and its always been great except for one thing: I decided to use the restroom. It smelled SO BAD that I changed my mind within seconds of entering.Which of course made me begin to pay more attention to the employees.Wearing gloves because theyre working with food... Awesome!Wearing gloves while working with food then helping customers and handling money then going back to working with food without changing said gloves...Not so awesome. Kind of a serious health issue. The young man that helped me never took off or changed his gloves and I dont know if he is aware of just how dirty cash is. Or that towel he just used to wipe the counter.Please, for the love of all things not gross, train employees to take off and/or change gloves when switching between working with food and handling cash.

Their peanut butter fudge was absolutely fantastic and much much cheaper than expected. Anything with coconut is also the move.

Yessss! As soon as you walk in the door the smell of goodies embraces you with a hug. Its as if I walked in a chocolate candy factory. I ordered the caramel apple candy which was a great treat. I love this place called heaven on Earth and will return for my fix as needed.

This place is seriously amazing! I am a big fan of their dark chocolate truffles. I usually get a sampler. Every time I am in there I feel like family. Maybe thats because the owner and his wife are always there! Super cool. You have to love small businesss!

Loved the ice cream and caramel apples. The service was funny. I had a girl scoop my ice cream and she gave me two measly scoops in a waffle cone, which was over $7. My son had the exact same two scoops in a waffle cone and a boy loaded him up with over double the ice cream. It was crazy the difference. My advice, order after someone else and watch who scoops the best and ask for that person to scoop for you.

Fantastic chocolate and fudge shop!! The speciality hot chocolate and drinking chocolate will satisfy the purists. The fudge is really good.A little on the pricey side because of its location, but the service is exceptional. The owner is a very friendly guy always ready to help out and offer samples and suggestions. Highly recommended!

Great ice cream and very nice staff. (Try the chocolate fudge or mint chocolate chip). They have a big book of dietary information for all of their products if you need allergy help.

The treats were great and the people were very friendly. My only complaint is that we were charged a higher price than what was posted. Perhaps some of their signage needs to be updated 🤷‍♂️. Overall, it was a nice experience

If youre willing to fork over the cash, Kilwins is a heavenly place to satisfy your sweet tooth. They offer a huge variety of tempting treats, as well as a large selection of ice cream and fudge to try out. The number of options is almost overwhelming, and everything Ive tried has been good enough to make my mouth water. Special shout-out to their smores ice cream, which might be the best ice cream Ive ever had. Like I said, its definitely expensive, but Ive never been let down by the quality, and they even offer free samples to help you decide.

I havent enjoyed fudge that much since I was a child and my Great Aunt would make it for me! On top of that the store is incredibly clean and the customer service is top notch. Truly a gem on the mall

I had a scoop of the chocolate peanut butter and a scoop of the peanut butter ice cream in a cup. The ice cream was really good. the parking is a bit of a challenge because its on the downtown mall so you have to usually use the parking garage or find the rare Street space. But its probably worth the walk because of the quality food. The reason I gave it a 4-star was I thought the ice cream was rather pricey. me and my girlfriend each got two scoops in a cup and it came to almost $15. We didnt try any of the candy or the fudge but it all certainly smelled and looked amazing

Ice cream is great and the dark chocolate peanutbutter cups even better. Better than any store bought kind. Better than whole foods, trader Joes or Harris Teeter.

Just a simple chocolate shake was absolutely the best Ive ever had. We need to go back and try their other flavors! Friendly service and a variety of chocolates and confections. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to be!

Excellent experience. Where do I start, the chocolate covered pretzels are amazing, caramel apples taste like a circus in your mouth, and the rice crispy treats are ridiculous! I highly recommend this place and the owner is one hell of a guy.

My wife and I were treated rudely by the young lady behind the counter. We intended to purchase some chocolate candy and were the only customers in the store. The girl didnt acknowledge us but promptly waited on the next person who walked in the store. It was an obvious snub and we promptly left.So much for southern hospitality

Good ice cream and fudge that is made in-house right before your eyes, but EXTREMELY expensive, especially considering the fact that most of their items are prepackaged items that are made of premisses like Oreos dipped in chocolate and chunks of marzipan shaped into fruit. Lots of typical cheap candy that is repackaged to look and be more expensive. Better off heading to chapps for ice cream that is more reasonably priced

Get the Marsh-Mallow Smore. We sampled multiple different ice creams before deciding on the smores ice cream in a cup with hot fudge. You cannot pass up the hot fudge. I dont even usually like anything smores because I am not a huge marshmellow fan. But this ice cream was awesome. We went on a Monday night and they were very busy. The woman behind the counter said that Mondays are very popular so keep that in mind. There was not much standing room in there. No seats inside this ice cream shop but there is plenty of outside seating as this is in the Downtown Mall area.

Fudge, caramel apples and ice cream were all enjoyed and gushed over. Kind of on the pricey side but quality is fantastic.

Its nice to have a Kilwins in town! Growing up in Michigan, I grew up patronizing Kilwins. Its nice to be able to find Blue Moon and Mackinac Island Fudge in Cville.
