What a great place to get some awesome bread and other treats. Owner is so knowledgeable about the different types of bakery items and you can tell has a real passion for baking. Something there for everybody from sandwiches to baked goods to super delicious treats. I’ve been there multiple times and never been disappointed.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Great Harvest Bread Company. The owner was kind enough to make us four sandwiches just before closing. We got 3 of the classic sandwiches and 1 signature sandwich. We tried the curried tuna salad, ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, and roast beef. Two were on the Dakota bread, one on white, and one on honey wheat. I couldnt resist adding a half dozen of stuffing rolls to the order. I enjoyed both sandwiches I tried, half of the turkey and half of the tuna. Both of these were on the Dakota bread, which Im a big fan of. We used to buy it at the city market along with a loaf of their cinnamon chip (highly recommended for french toast).I didnt get to try the ham and cheese or the roast beef. The guys ate those quickly and certainly didnt offer to share. Its going to be hard to pick which sandwich to get on our return visit, so many good options!One thing is for sure, I need to hurry and order stuffing rolls for Thanksgiving, along with a pumpkin roll for my husband. If cookies and pies entice you, there are plenty of those as well.

Delicious bread and other baked goodies! I visited the cafe for the first time this morning and will be a regularly returning customer. The owner was very kind and enthusiastic. Apparently, they mill their own grain AND bake on site - I dont think its possible to buy fresher bread!

The bake shop is beautiful and smells are divine! In addition to some gorgeous breads, Aileen offers house made granola, and even dog biscuits. The cinnamon roll I enjoyed was perfect. I went in thinking about a sandwich, but as soon as I laid eyes on that cinnamon roll, that was it. Gooey and deliciousGO!! Staff masked up as was I. I felt very comfortable.

Just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful lunch you prepared for everyone in the PICU at UVA, my son is currently here recovering from heart surgery, the ham sandwich was delicious and very much appreciated.

I could go on and on about how much I love this place but I’ll try to keep it short. The food - unparalleled. I’ve been to a lot of Great Harvest locations and always appreciate their quality and freshness, but for some reason this location is just be best. I haven’t tried a single thing on the menu that wasn’t incredible (and I’ve probably tried everything on their menu.) The staff - Aileen who runs the bakery makes you feel at home the second you walk through the door. She’s everything you’d want in a bakery owner and more. I would go just to see her! In all the craziness of COVID going to/bringing home delicious bread from baked goods has been the silver lining for me. It brings so much joy into my life. I’ve been doing curbside recently to be extra cautious (I’m really impressed by all the safety/cleaning measures they’ve been taking. Makes me feel extremely safe.) If you haven’t gone to THIS branch of Great Harvest, you are truly missing out on an exceptional experience

This place is awesome, and their breads and rolls are so freaking good you dont even know. If youve never been here I urge you, no I beg you to come down and check them out anytime between Monday and Saturday. Unfortunately they are closed on Sundays because theyre baking up that deliciousness.

The lemon bars, pecan bars and blondies from Great Harvest Bread are wonderful. I ordered these three desserts to supplement a small cutting cake at my daughters wedding in mid-October and they were perfect. Not too sweet, perfect consistency, and perfect size (bakery cut bars in half for us before pickup). The personnel were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them for wedding desserts.

Great place to get seasonal King Cakes!

I have to say this was a cute little spot and their baked goods are phenomenal. I had a strawberry scone that was so perfect I could go back for a dozen. I only took off a star because the drink options including the coffee I had left a lot to be desired. There wasnt a ton of inside seating either so if it gets busy I imagine it would be hard to maneuver.

AMAZING chip something bread with the cinnamon butter the lady behind the counter gave me a sample of. Bought a loaf for home. I went there for my the time yesterday and had great service and a delicious scuffin and pumpkin muffin in addition to the to-die-for sample.

My favorite place to go to fulfill my sweet bread needs! I also love that I am able to find Great Harvest Bread at both the Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon farmers markets. The owners are awesome, especially Mike, hes always so kind and helpful when I come into the store and hes always encouraging me to try something new. Great store!

No Pumpernickel Bread that day. Bread expensive like $10 a loaf. Smelled good though.

Lovely bakery, wonderful people, great community approach. These folks are great. Flour is milled in house and breads are all hand crafted. Excess is donated to those who need it in the community. Theres a monthly baking menu so you know what is made and when. They also host meetings and classes!

Staff was very personable. Food was tasty (although the curried tuna had a little too much curry but thats a matter of preference) Smelled like a wonderful bakery inside and the selection of unique breads was very diverse. Great for a quick bite or if you want to take something home to experiment yourself!

Great breads. They mill their own grains. Use honey. I dont buy bread from grocery store. Good cookies, scuffins, and breakfast paninis. They have iced coffee.

This place has the best bread ever when I went there for the 1st time the owner was amazing giving free samples and telling us about the greens that they are non GMO that they can trace them from the supplier and that they are totally healthy and local and good quality although the bread is $8 it is some of the best tasting bread you will ever have absolutely delicious I will be coming back every week

The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and gracious, and the bread is FANTASTIC! I look forward to having a piece of GH toast every single morning. Im hooked on the quality, the taste, and the health benefits. Love this place so much!

I look for Great Harvest when I travel. Love, love, love their bread! Cheddar Garlic, cinnamon swirl, Apple crunch - so many great flavors, and they are all great.

Not the best Bakery in town but not the worst. They do make their breads on premisses and offer a lot of variety but some places like Albemarle baking and Marie bette have better quality with a smaller selection. They offer a lot of food products like soup kits and maple syrup and the like.

Visited their stall at the farmers market. They are generous with their free samples and once I tried their cinnamon chip bread I was totally smitten. If anything else, buy their cinnamon chip bread, ask no questions and enjoy.

Love their breads! Cville crunch, Honey Wheat, Cinnamon chip, and Challah are our regular favorites. My absolute favorite is a seasonal, the orange cranberry...cant wait till November to have it again!

Wonderful store staffed with passionate people. The selection and quality of bread is really great, unparalleled in Charlottesville. All the grain is milled in house and is baked within 48 hours. Something Ive never seen before and really speaks to the attention to detail they put in to their craft. If you need bread and care about quality, this is your place in Charlottesville.

Way over priced for the food.27.90 for two sandwiches I can make at home that would taste better. I wouldnt recommend this place based on the experience.
