Not knowing anything about drums, my stepson and I went in looking for his first drum set. He was paying for it himself so Derek, the employee helping us, was very honest, gave him a good starting point, and a suggestion as a step up from that without ripping us off. We ended up with the step up and my stepson is excited to start learning.

Few places exist today that call you by name every time you walk in. Not just one person, but several. Just an amazing staff. Adam Stone is easily the best teacher I’ve ever had. As late learner, I sometime struggle with new finger work challenges, but Adam reminds me to just have fun and don’t sweat.Everyone is always helpful and seem truly happy to be there. I highly recommend Matt and his entire staff.Great job all.

I try to support local but unfortunately they just cost themselves a $350 sale. They couldn’t figure out how to process a Discover card they kept insisting it was a debit card. 2 years same card never had a problem anywhere else. I can tell you who did figure it out,Best Buy…

This store is impressive! On a recent busy Saturday, we entered the store to make a return which we had bought on line. Two staff members approached us immediately and took us to a counter to process the return. They were both very knowledgeable of the product, and they both worked together to assist us. Our mission was accomplished very quickly and efficiently, and I must say that this particular store seems to consistently provide excellent service. Whomever is the store manager should get credit for hiring the right staff to do the job because the staff here is at the top of their game!

This is for the main website, not the Chattanooga store. Just had my first (and last) dealing with GC. Im stating to buy some practice gear and I ordered a cheap audio interface from them. Two days later I get an email that says something to the effect Bummer dude! We thought we had the item in stock but now it looks like we dont. Its on back order. Im just not buying the story, since I assume they use computers and not some geriatric hippie with a note pad for their inventory control. Also theres no way it took two days to figure out they didnt have it. Like most people I order things when I need them and now Ive lost two solid days due to this. If they had told me it wasnt in stock when I ordered it I very well might have ordered the next more expensive unit, since I was already considering that. I think the policy is take all orders whether we have the items or not, wait a couple of days to get the customer to invest some time, then go for the up sell. Exactly what happened to me.

Always loved this store as a drummer. For a chain outfit all departments offer a great selection of gear of any type.So drummer, yes. Guitars whole new thing...Wanted to start without huge investment.Well thats where Guitar Center actually exceeds small specialty shops.The reason? Big box store, so one stop shopping. Also in every department a large selection to fit any budget. Mine being quite low now a days, I headed there on a mission!Researched a long time inexpensive setups. Typical all-in-one guitar packs always seemed cheap with poor quality sound. Reviewers did reveal a few gems though at prices that I could swing with much sacrifice.All around they seemed to all point to the Epiphone PR-4E Acoustic/Electric Player Pack for value, consistent quality and great sound.Though it is a big box store, they do it better for people just like me or a professional musician than a specialty shop.No matter what you are into, they have it in one if their many departments.And no matter your level, you dont get that snobby, elitists attitude.I walked in. Greeted by the manager at the door leaving for day. He walked me back in! Introduced himself then led me to an assistant manager, Mikey, and introduced him, to handle my needs. The guy was off and going out the door and he did this first! Thats service, period.Told Mikey I was there for that product. He praised it highly as we walked past guitars costing thousands and never even glanced at them while we talked about the Epiphone Pack. They were all in boxes both the Acoustic/Electric and the purely Electric Packs.He then said, let go get my guitar guy while you check them out. He did and I did.Soon both return and Mikey handed me off to the guitar guy, Todd, introducing him and telling him my needs. All these meet and greets go along with handshakes all around and light banter. Again, great customer service!He too praised my choice as probably best choice for my needs! He did point out one other starter pack by a different manufacturer. It was LESS expensive! I declined and said all my research pointed to the Epiphone and he admitted that it did have better sound, quality and the amp for its size cant be beat. He was just trying to save me more money knowing my position!So I bought it on the spot.I wanted to inspect whole package before final purchase. He gladly carried out the box for me to center of guitar area where others were shopping and demoing various expensive guitars even making room for me to look it all over, cut the tape, opened the box, carefully removed the guitar and handed to me and said I could take it from there. Excused himself graciously and said he would be right back after he finished up with previous customer. He had left them for introduction to me and had been with me all that time! Unbelievable scenario in any specialty shop!Satisfied with all contents, I purchased the guitar I had went in there for.I requested a guitar stand/rest be added to my purchase. He brought one out promptly. The most inexpensive one they carry. Cost only like $13. But it didnt have the little capture strap to keep neck on stand in case bummed or something. Well I have a very curious cat at home and that wouldnt do! So upselled myself to bit nicer, stand! LolExtra touch: I get e-coupons via email from them all the time. Problem is, they usually exclude alot of brands, Epiphone included. I had mentioned this fact to Mikey the manager. He told me not to worry he could make it work on must brands with few exceptions. And he did! 20% off my whole purchase. It saved me almost $57!So why Guitar Center? Supreme customer service, large selection of anything in each department and each department is staffed by actual experienced players in each department.So go there! Buy there! Especially if learning a new or first instrument.

Was told I would have a few free items if I bought the warranty… Come to find out two of the things they gave me was already in the electric drums that I bought..when I tried to return it they would not give me my money because They said it was free therefore they can’t give me money... I spent $500 a week before on a guitar… And over 1000 for this last purchase-and they can’t give me back what totals to be approximately $40… We all know why they want to sell the warranty because they get a huge kick back on that… The associate had no idea, or maybe he did, as to what was in the box…very bad transaction overall..Would not go back to guitar center in Chattanooga

I was helped by a very nice woman whom was very informative and helpful. Wish I got her name to give her the appropriate credit. Definitely recommend Guitar Center in Chattanooga!

Plesantly surprised, my expectations were not that high just visiting had town had to get my hands on a guitar and one of the associates encouraged me to plug in and a play stuff knowing I was just visiting. Friendly guy and fencer guitar selection. Note I worked at a guitar center so I know how it is.

Phil and John are excellent. John spent over an hour with me going thru different models and their specs, and then I spent over 3 hours with Phil going through trade-ins, specs, prices and a thorough explanation of the Gear Card. At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything, and every question I had was answered with perfect details. This store feels like a boutique shop, unlike the larger stores to the west and east of us. I’m completely satisfied with my purchase and look forward to many more years of business with GC Chattanooga.

I love this place. Staff are always friendly and helpful. You can try the musical equipment and they offer lessons. Someone is always playing some instrument so the atmosphere is wonderfully noisy. Music is the best way to maintain sanity in this world we live in.

As a bass player there is no guitar centre that ever carries what I want but besides that the store itself is pretty clean and the staff is pretty friendly and is actually decent selection of guitar equipment just nothing for base which is the run of the mill at this point.

All employees are great, awesome. They all know what they are doing ! If they can help you with certain payments or with lessons its no biggie they will get manager right there to help Im a flash. Dylan and Demetri are great as well..My son is takkmg drum lessons .Tomorrow will be 5th lesson.My son is Autistic but pics up and catches on.Theha re very patient with him .Always have a great time and cant wakt to go back each week.

This was my first time in this location and absolutely loved it! I first walk in with my 4 year old son who enjoys music and he was amazed at the different forms of musical instruments. Every staff member was nice and very knowledgeable on the products i acquired about and the couple that wasnt sure jumped in to fulfill my questions. I cant wait to return to speak with team again and for us to have our mini jam sesh again

I would say fairly decent experience overall. Good selection of equipment. So much equipment that the store is uncomfortably cramped. I came in to buy a guitar amp and purchased a used 10x2 Marshall. Customer service was ok but I definitely didnt get the warm and fuzzy feeling. On their behalf, it was the Presidents day sale and the place was busy. I took the amp home and could not get it to play, so we drove the 30+ miles back to have them look at it and they got it working. Back to the house and this used tube amp seems to need new tubes because it has a bad hum. After a couple of weeks, I brought the amp back to return it and they refunded me with a check (I had paid cash) no questions asked. I wouldnt hesitate to shop here again.

Loved this place. It was a bit of a sensory overload with all the noise but once I was in there for a few minutes it wasnt as jaring or harsh as it had seemed. A beautiful chaos.The first thing I noticed after the noise was all of the instruments they had arranged around the store. The percussion area was huge! I was not aure what I expected on my first visit but wow. I was set at ease by the very helpful staff member who helped me find exactly what I had been sent for- a tamborine. I was able to walk around and get a good idea on prices for different cords and microphones and even guitar strings and picks for my friends. Now I can compare if I have to go to any place local.

Usually experiences are great. My son and his friend went up today and they offered a ridiculous trade value. Then they drilled a hole into the guitar when trying to repair it The guitar was a graduation present from me to him. When I took him up last week I was not allowed into the store because I cant wear a mask. Turned away a loyal customer who has health issues including a rare for of blood cancer because I couldnt wear a mask even after I explained which goes against the ADA (Americans with disabilities act) Shame on yall. Robbing good customers blind with extremely low trade in values. See no need in going back. Weve spent thousand of dollars there. Sad.

Some employees are super friendly, some not so much. Ordered a $1400 guitar and they gave us a used floor model. Used to be fun to go browse but they really dont want you doing that anymore. Well be buying from the online dealers going forward.

Ridiculous experience I walked completely away from what little people they allowed in the store in order to pull my face covering away from my face to catch my breath. The employees completely lost their cool and insisted that I couldnt do that. So I left without making a purchase. And will not be back.

They had pretty much everything I wanted in large supply as far as strings, picks, straps, strap locks, tuners, etc. I know there is probably better out there but for our area this place is the best when it comes to accessories. I highly recommend. Also I had a really friendly sales person. 🎸👍

This store has illogical covid restriction rules. Upon entering you are forced to use hand sanitizer. Then may proceed to shop. I am unclear about the logic behind this. I understand they want to prevent the spread of germs but if you are strumming a guitar and then touch your mask then you are preventing nothing. If they are going to be open they need to only allow one person in at a time so they can restrict them from touching their mask. Sounds very silly but their covid prevention rules are doing them nothing. Shop locally! Big chains are too scare about getting sued and don’t care enough about the customer. Very sad!

Its guitar heaven in there. You got amps, chairs and guitars everywhere. Just find a axe you like, plug it in and give it a go. Every time Im interested in a new instrument I pop in here to tickle some strings. My only advice is get a bigger used gear section.

I like the people at this location but I tend to go to Nashville for the massive inventory.

Courteous and helpful staff. Pleased with deal I got ok n my Epiphone EB3 Bass. They handled ordering it from one of their stores in California. Very pleased!

I’ve been shopping at Guitar Center since it opened here in Chattanooga. They’ve had some ups & downs with their employees and how they treat you, but over the past few years they’ve been great. I would suggest anyone who may have been turned off by the stereotypical music store employees to give this Guitar Center a try. Very helpful, good selection and great sales.
