As an interior designer, I have worked with Dean Schulefand for the past 20 years. I have sent him both personal items and items from my clients. He recently repaired an heirloom, one that has been in my family for many generations, and we once again have it as if it was never broken. He’s always been honest, responsive, and diligent in making sure myself and my clients are satisfied with the work. Thank you for the wonderful work that you do. My family and I are forever grateful! I would recommend China and Crystal Repair by Dean to anybody!

Dean repaired a Vietri candlestick for me. The item was broken in two, and the material is a metallic glazed terracotta, so it looked like a difficult job. The repair is perfect, and I cannot tell the repaired candlestick from its unbroken mate. I am very happy with the work and will use Dean again.

I just received my repaired mug and ceramic box from Dean Schulefand & Associates Porcelain and Crystal Restoration and I am in total awe! The items were securely packed and arrived safely and I can say Dean did an amazing job! The repairs are wonderful, and I am so very glad that we used their restoration company and didnt try to bungle it with some homemade gluing attempt. The box is repaired so perfectly you cant even tell where is was broken. The mugs repairs are somewhat visible, but it was missing some little pieces. Now the mug doesnt have a chunk missing and it doesnt make me sad anymore. The talent, the skill, and the patience it must have taken--wow! I highly recommend Dean Schulefand & Associates because they repaired my sentimental items in such a professional manner!

Incompetent and a thiefStay away from this man like the plague. He attempted to fix a blown glass turtle of mine without success. When it was finally shipped back to me (by another incompetent company named UPS), it arrived in two pieces (the exact same two pieces that I originally sent to him hoping to have it fixed). If it wasnt for the shoddy workmanship of the repair attempt that left the glass with a yellow stain near the cement area where the repair was attempted, I would not have known anything was done at all.Perhaps this piece was beyond repair. A reputable business would have just told me that up front and refunded my money. But instead, Dean decided to hack it together with airplane glue and pray it survived the shipping back. But, it did not survive. And this is where this story (and this mans reputation) goes from bad to worse. This all happened in August 2015. Since that time, I have been attempting to be reimbursed the $320 I paid for zero services rendered. During that time, Dean has played me for a fool conspiring beautifully with UPS to drag this issue out for over a year in a he said, she said back and forth over who needs to do what next. UPS said they can only deal with the shipper. The shipper (Dean) says they need more info. This little dance continues for months and years. In the end, Dean tells me that UPS wont pay. I tell Dean I dont much care who pays, but it shouldnt be the customer (me). Dean, I am guessing thinking that if I suckered him in once, maybe I can double-down and sucker him again, suggests that I just ship him back the turtle and hell fix it again. I have not done so. First, I saw the pathetic excuse for a repair his first attempt produced - I cannot imagine a second try producing better results. Second, I dont believe the turtle can be repaired in a way that would allow it to be successfully shipped by UPS such that it arrives in one piece.Dean will take your money. Hes good at that. Whether he can repair anything, I do not know. I can state hes completely incompetent with blown glass. If you have porcelain or some other material, and youre willing to take a chance on a human being whose ethics are questionable at best, perhaps he has some skill with these other substances. But, from my experience, you should run away, and run away fast. All you get dealing with Dean is a lighter wallet with nothing to show for it other than a year of exasperation as Dean & UPS conspire to make you give up the fight (which they successfully have done). I consider Dean a thief posing as a business. Nothing more. Stay away!
