Ive purchased just over 200 doors and counting now from House of Doors. We love their ability to help us fit a door into any size opening. Theyve also helped educate us on terminology as well as all the features and benefits so we can offer the best products and best value to our customers. Yes, you can buy a door for less but you cant find the customization and options anywhere else.

Never wrote a review before. Bad experience. We ordered doors and waited the 4 week lead time. When we went to check in because we didn’t hear from them we were told they forgot to order the doors even though our card was charged. When I asked to expedite the order because they screwed up there was nothing they could do or did do to help. I then was talked to by Paul Edwards as though it was my fault and I kept bothering them. He’s a hint call back when you say you are going to. Not only was he rude but he needs to learn how to talk to a customer. Needless to say canceled the order and purchased through Kamco in E.Hartford not only to get the doors sooner but had a great experience for a cheaper price.

I ordered an insulated, smooth, fiberglass, craftsman style door with side lights from the House of Doors. I was pleased to deal with a business that is professional, personable and has great customer service. The staff was personable, professional and answered all of my questions with no pressure to buy. After I ordered my door, I was excited when I was told it was coming in earlier than the week of December 11th, which is when I needed it. Two weeks later, I received a phone call from the House of Doors (Sam) who explained their supplier had now told them the smooth fiberglass was on back order and wouldnt be ready until January. Sam kept me in the loop while he dealt with the supplier to fix the issue, knowing I needed the door by the week of 12/11. After the supplier failed to help out, Sam stepped up and had the door made using more expense materials (wood grain pattern) at NO extra cost to me. I picked up my door today and am beyond pleased. As I am a stickler for quality and customer service, I recommend the House of Doors 100% !

These guys are the best. Ive been dealing with them for nearly 40 years and have nothing but praise for the excellent personal service and high quality products they sell. They are my go to for all my door needs. Dont bother looking else where. Youll not find a wider variety or the level of expertise offered.

Im giving 5 stars because the service was knowledgeable and timely. Their selection of styles and hardware options is great too. We bought a bunch of their products in 1989 when we built our house but I cant tell you specifically what now. I was surprised to find they only deal with one manufacturer these days - Provia. Im sure they are good because its their business but we never heard of them. Oh and Provia is more expensive but I imagine you only get what you pay for.

Head and shoulders more competent than their competitors. I wont go anywhere else for doors.

House of doors is exactly that house of doors. If you have a particular application I am sure that they can accommodate usually at a pretty good price and more importantly a pretty decent turn around.... Enjoy your door shopping in Cheshire

Between my boyfriend and myself we bought over $1000.00 in doors and hardware. when our carpenter went to install the handles one box was marked left handle but there was a right one in it. i called and was told to have our carpenter call. i told him im telling you what he told me and showed me. when i told my boyfriend how i was treated he called and they hung up on him. he called back and finally got it thru to them what the problem was.finally they ordered a right and a left to make sure the right one would be there. i went to pick up the handle and the same guy who sold me the doors tried to claim i broke the handle. i never even opened the box i had no reason to. box was opened by our carpenter. then demanded to know what i did with the second screw. like i said i never opened the box. another guy told him just take one screw out of the new box. low and behold both screws were in the box. then i was told the handles were not there. they were on a desk in the office. OK thats when it went from bad to total embarrassment took place. they took both handles out and said which one do you want. i told them i want the left one. he held them up and said which one is it. Really why was all of this necessary? All i wanted was the correct handle that we paid for. we were going to buy a new front and storm door. Will go elsewhere for one now.

I Will never use these people again (House of Doors)!! I went there to give business to support small local business instead of big box stores. My door leaked from day one. It took me (3) weeks to get a rep to my house with constant phone calls and finally someone showed up. The rep gave me a line of BS that no door is water tight and that it was normal for the door to be leaking (ya right). Then he tried to sell me on a storm door. The best part is that he never even called me back to give me a price on a storm door. So I went to home depot and bought a storm door. I do not recommend this place at all, they are over priced and have poor quality products and even poorer customer service. I will never use this place again. Shame on them!!!

My husband and I purchased a sliding glass door. When we went to pick it up they lost the hardware to it. They searched the warehouse. I personally helped search as well. They couldn’t find it and offered the ugliest gold one to us in the meantime they would keep looking and order a new one. I called the next day and asked that a new one be ordered that actually goes to our door. He said not a problem we will do that right away. We called again the next day because we were told they would give us a call back. They said it was never ordered and they would do that... and promised another call back. Guess who didn’t get a call back. The next day they were closed. The day after we call again and they said they would call us back... again no call. So we call a few hours later and get no help at all besides attitude and now we will be waiting for another week without a lock that we were promised the day we purchased it. It’s real nice being treated with attitude and hostility. We purchased the new door because I’m pregnant and a family member has been harassing me so we thought a new sturdy back door would be a good idea.Update from 1 star to 3: My husband threatened to just return the door and go elsewhere- now they will have the parts next day air. So hopefully we will have it before thanksgiving.

Selection of doors was good. As for the 2 workers I encountered today,,, less than professional. I gentleman carrying a baby in a car carrier left the door open coming in and again going out ( mind you if the House of Doors front door looked and worked like the ones in the showroom this would not have been a problem). One of the workers yelled out the door, ya, dont worry Ill get the door for you AGAIN. The other worker needs to work on overall appearance. If youre a salesperson, you should be approachable!

We needed to replace our French doors going to our patio and we were having trouble getting the replacement doors due to the non standard size. We walked into the the showroom and described what we were looking for and right away Paul had solution for us ! The new doors look great and the pricing was very reasonable considering they custom made our door to fit the opening. We just purchased our front door from them and cant wait have it installed.,...

Ive decided to install a barn style sliding door in my bathroom because of space issues and because of great look that the sliding doors give you. Unfortunately Home Depot and Lowes charge anywhere from $350 - $500 for these doors along with the hardware. I was able to obtain the hardware at a very reasonable price on Amazon although I quickly found out that the regular 36 x 80 doors do not work for this project, everywhere I looked 36 x 84 doors were $300 plus. House of Doors in Cheshire was able to quickly quote me multiple doors at the right size with next day pickup, I was able to get the doors I liked for about $115. My first time doing business with the House of Doors and it was a great experience, whether on the phone, email, or in person I was treated with great customer service. Highly Recommended.

What a joke!! House of doors? House of dust & no customer service. I walked in ready to spend $3000 on two doors i did not want to be out all day with the wife lol. So hey i went to the house of doors.walked around for about 5min its a small showroom some guy who looked liked he got out of bed in the clothes he slepped in was behind the counter was more in to his phone & co workers than helping us and honestly there wasnt much to look at unless they had more to offer but again i never received any service 🤷🏽‍♂️. I got back in my truck & spent $1800 at a box store i rather had spent my $$ with a specially store.

The staff is very helpful and doors were as close to perfect as they could be with the info I gave them.

We purchased a front door from House of Doors in Dec 2012 with the intent of installing a storm door in 2013 (House of Doors was told we intended to install a storm door). By the way, we love our door. The installer recommended from House of Doors was given the door handle and keypad deadbolt set we purchased ourselves to be installed on the door, and he did install the door, handle and deadlock. In 2013 we purchased and attempted to install a storm door and was told there wasnt enough clearance for the inside handle. House of Doors proceeded to tell us the holes drilled for door handles and deadbolts is standard, and it was agreed the [Anderson 4000 series] storm door we purchased would not work. While House of Doors did suggest options: purchase a storm door from them that would work within the clearance between our handle and keypad deadbolt lock, or purchase another door handle/dead bolt, I would have expected as door subject matter experts that they would have taken in to consideration the handle/deadbolt set to be used by the customer before drilling the holes. Future buyers, who will be installing a new door and storm door, beware you need to ensure both House of Doors and your installer knows what handle/deadbolt lock you will be installing so holes to be drilled will accommodate your storm door purchased..because they wont consider that in your purchase of a door from them.

They can find or make any door. Just skip home depot and Lowes send come here to save time and money.

STAY AWAY! Unfortunately 0 stars is not an option. Owner turning over to children, children are useless, and owner has stopped caring. Almost no customer relationship once they have your money, and any mistakes they make are your problem (even before delivery!).
