If you’re visiting Guam and looking for souvenirs, Kmart has a great variety. They’re not cheap, though, so I’d suggest shopping around first and seeing what other touristy shops in Tumon have got.I am impressed with their candy selection - so many varieties from the US and Asia, including some that are packaged differently than their counterparts on the mainland.

This K-Mart is one of the last discount stores left in the USA. However, the Guam K-Mart is pricing their goods as if they were a high-end store?? Theyre taking advantage of the people here. Rosss on Guam is a better discount store with brand named goods at a Walmart price. Shame on K-Mart for their high prices!!

Considering whats currently available on this remote island, no surprise, this is THEE best 24-hour department store for household goods and snacks. One small gripe: slow service. Amongst other things, the check-out line is unbelievably slow. They will commonly take a short line, of say 3 or 4 carts, 15+ minutes to get through. I got a hunch why that is (more hours?), but hey whatever; Im just speculating.Anyway! Great store despite all that; glad its available here on Guam. Its charming and straight out of the 90s.

The service there is decent, however, the items you can buy from there are overpriced. A kid’s toy like a remote submarine, or nerf gun (which they only had 2 different nerf guns) would cost at least 5 dollars less if they aren’t sold in the US anymore, but generally the toy would cost 2-3x the original price of the toy. Also the things that are on “Sale” are only a dollar or two off. The food, especially Chamorro food is incredibly expensive and only worth it if you like it or really want it.

This is probably the only profitable Kmart left in the USA. Coming into this store was a bizarre trip for me. All across America most Kmarts have been shut down, redeveloped or left to rot and let nature reclaim them. Yet, here in far-off tropical Guam, across the International Date Line, one Kmart still stands as a still-functioning example of what was once a titan of retail.I guess it helps neither Wal Mart nor Target decided to plant their stores on Americas most remote territory. For most Japanese, Korean or other varied East Asian tourists, Kmart is a taste of how big box American retail stores are run. Yet, theyd be shocked if they saw how dire things are for Kmart in the mainland. If youre an American like me it is like travelling back into the late 90s/early 2000s again. The smell of Little Caesars pizza wafts into your nostrils as you glance upon the Guam-themed T-shirts and souvenirs before strolling down the toy aisle and try to pry your kid away from the Barbie boxes on the shelves. Will this Kmart still stand once the COVID-19 pandemic inevitably shatters the remainder of the still-standing Sears and Kmarts across America into dust? It would be a surreal memorial to a now rapidly fading retail chain that used to be in nearly every corner of America. In the meantime, if you are on Guam, grab a few cans of Guam beer (Made in WI, Shhhhhhh!) from the booze aisle, drive on down to the beach, and enjoy the sunset.

I have been shopping here for as long as I lived on Guam. They recently started a rewards system which is neat and it gives us consumers a chance to save some money. The prices of most of the items are fair, but dont be afraid to shop around at other supermarkets. I know Cost-u-more(Cost-u-less) has items that are cheaper than Kmart.Tools: They have a decent amount of Craftsman tools and other automotive items from detailing to maintenance.Snacks: You will find a lot of imported snacks which i enjoy consuming. They do have local snacks as well which is convenient if youre wanting to get snacks to bring back home.(for tourists)When you enter the building you will get a wonderful whiff of cigarette smoke for your secondhand smoke cravings. They lets customers and EMPLOYEES smoking within 20 feet of the entrance. The carts all need a trip to triple J for new wheels because the casters are all worn out. All the carts are in need of some maintenance. They do provide sanitizing wipes next to the cart, so do not forget to wipe down your cart to prevent the spread of germs.

Don’t bother calling, no one picks up. I called once and an employee picked up and just hung up, so unprofessional. Then again NO ONE at kmart is professional. Knowing how guam is, some people do that. Knowing theres a pandemic you think people would be more understanding since no one wants to go to a place and upon their arrival the item they’re looking for is not there or out of stock. So they would rather call first. They should have just made a walmart or target and replace all the employees from manager to staff.

Almost always very long lines. Do not come here during the day. I would suggest to wait until after 11pm and shop during the midnight if you would like to shop comfortably.Prices have really gone up for all items. Kmart used to be a great place for better prices but they have proven to be either just the same as a convenient store, even more expensive, or simply the difference of cents. I would also suggest to look at their on-sale brochures to find better prices, but even at that other stores such as a Pay-Less Supermarket may also be just about the same price and probably closer to your home.

Kmart has the worst restrooms!!! This store makes HUGE profits but they cannot fix & renovate their ONE & only customer restrooms. Each time I have used it, there are toilet paper scraps on the floor, overflowing trash bins, broken soap dispenser, dirty sinks & mirrors, blah design. Not to mention the big gaps on their stalls - anyone can see through the activity done behind those doors! The people that work there dont seem to care about it. Their standard of cleanliness is in contrast to their customers. In Japan & Korea (Kmarts main customers), the restrooms are very clean & high-tech. Kmart bathrooms are those found in ghetto 3rd-world countries. Tourists are captive buyers who seem to think Kmart is cheap (lots of their goods are overpriced). GPO, Micro Mall, Home Depot have much cleaner restrooms. I wish Walmart or Target would come to the island and compete with Kmart.

This Kmart is the only large merchandise store on island, open 24/7. The prices are way higher than if you were to go to any local store on island. This store is packed with customers - which I’m sure is a great thing for business, but for the me, I hate going in there because people are either bumping into me with their buggies or blocking the aisles (which are already pretty narrow.)I recommend you to have a lot of patience before stepping forth into this Kmart, but if you you love crowds and getting bumped is what you’re into, then by all means don’t let me convince you otherwise!

Suggest you use cash. If their system reboots after youve already made a successful card purchase theyll redo the transaction and ask you to run your card again. This raised some concerns, as I am not a Guam resident and didnt want to depart to my home country without knowing that everything will be settled accordingly. Asked the supervisor for some sort of guarantee and all she gave me was verbal assurance that funds will be credited to my account. As of today, my online statement shows double posting of the kmart purchase and no refunds pending. Contacted my bank and they said it typically takes 3-5 business days to process refunds. It is well over 3-5 days now and still havent received my refund. Contacting Kmart was somewhat of a hassle. Couldnt find email addresses online, and it took a while to get to someone via phone. By the time I got through I felt like I was stuck in a loop. Finally, they said they would email a document for me to submit to the bank. Was expecting it by the end of the day but it never came. Followed up the next day and they said their internet was down and that its something theyre working on. Checking my email now, still no email from them. Internet still down? Such a huge inconvenience.Update: Called today (4/28/17) and the customer service supervisor said I had to be physically in Guam and I need to provide my bank statement. O_o
