Scout is something of a place that you know how special it is when you walk in the door. Besides the obvious design aesthetic that the owner, Larry, has been curating for 15+ years, you also notice the second home feel the store has. You can always find a one-of-a-kind unique treasure here, and with that you can always hear a story from Larry or the other two fine shop associates. The Chicago artists featured in the store are also great, with people like Mike Nicholson, Michelle Peterson and Mariano Chavez. The store is always changing and I’m always happy to stop in when I’m around the neighborhood.

Always a fun place because you don’t know what local artist he will have that has made something pretty special. We have bought several items from Larry in the past year and always check periodically to see what’s new.We bought a table made from a bowling lane that was made by a local art professor. The pic is in our house but at least you get the idea of the items.

Husband and I have been visiting Scout whenever we are in Andersonville for a few years. Although it’s not a large store, it’s very well curated and has great furniture and art pieces. On our last trip, we purchased two beautiful nightstands and will likely be back to pick up one of the many prints they sell. Although we haven’t ever purchased lighting there, they always have a very cool selection of table lamps.

Great antique and design shop. Even just to look. Charming store, stylish & quality pieces with highly reasonable-to-cheap prices. They’re friendly people and so helpful, plus awesome with design. They can hook your house up with some great looks. Must-see Chicago antique store.

Beyond the quaint shop that holds a rotating assortment of unique furniture, lighting and accents (Goods that will give any home a favorite talking piece), there is Scout Design. When you let Larry (the owner) take the reigns, you are in for only good surprises. I realized soon after working with him on our home design that I could never go back to making my own design decisions. When you are good, you are good and HE IS GOOD! Go in to shop and not only will you leave with amazing pieces for your home, you will be happy that you met Larry and his team.

This is my favorite store for furniture. Lots of well-curated pieces and some fun surprises. There are always original pieces of contemporary fine art as well. A very nice shop.
