Steam boiler stopped working. I called Rangel Heating & Cooling. Had someone here within 2 hours. Fidel Answered the call and was very clean and professional. Diagnosed the problem. Turns out the wires from thermostat transformer to gas valve were making contact and causing a short. A simple wire replacement did the job. Ran new wire nice neat and clean .It took Fidel maybe 20 minutesto fix the problem. Awesome service. Definitely using them again.

I had them install my ac & furnace. AC ran fine all summer unfortunately I had issues with the furnace within the first month of turning it on for first time but luckily Fidel came the same day to solve the issue. I highly recommend them for there quick response to solve any issues that arise.

Very happy with the services of this company. I had a small gas leak in the valve of my heater and Mr. Fidel came and carefully checked all the pipes of the heater in case there was another gas leak, he used liquid to detect the leak and also a professional machine (like those of People Gas) to detect gas leak. Fortunately it was only a small escape and Mr. Fidel fixed it immediately and even changed the gas valve to a more accessible place. The price was fair and the service very professional and respectful. 100% recommendable! Thank you Mr. Fidel.

Manners and services to me in my opinion are two different things but this place seem to refuse service to every question I asked. Not sure if it was just a Monday thing or thats how they roll. This place was highly recommend but first time impressions were poor (called multiple times) so far they didnt meet the expectations. I wasnt asking for free prices nor a discount.

I got two issues with Rangel. Time management, when you say you are going to be there in 10min do not arrive 30-45min from the potential time you gave. Secondly, when talking about business with a customer do not bring up personal issues you are having within your business. Meaning you have problems with other customers in the past do not assume its the same with new customers. When it came down to a payment agreement we wanted to pay in check half up front and half when the job is done because thats how you build a relationship in trust. Trusting that we will pay and that they will complete the service, but he said if we are paying in check we need to write the whole payment out in one check because he does not trust us, and stated issues he had with other clients in the past. This showed an unprofessional business ethic from Rangel because how can you want a client to pay in full when the service has not started, and how can you expect someone to trust you if you cant even trust them.

Replaced my capacitor on my furnace. Only HVAC store open on Sundays.Needed the part desperately. Last time this happened my pipes burst.

Phoned in first to see if they carried a replacement blower motor for my furnace. Part was in stock same-day. When I went in to get the part, Fidel gave me a quick synopsis of how the motor need to be installed. Great place to buy furnace parts. Affordable, knowledgeable and convenient. Highly recommended.

Very unprofessional went as far as threatening my son for calling to reschedule appointment with 2 hour notice. So my question to you and the owner is threatening the way to deal in your line of business ?? You claim because my son cancelled but in order to being able to maintain a good rating you have to work with people and circumstances that may arise, so to all my people doing business with them see for yourself what unprofessional they are.

Rangel has been a life saver! My AC unit stopped working so I started off with replacing the capacitor which they had available immediately. I called a few places in the Chicagoland area and his prices were the best! Not only did he have the parts needed but he took the time to explain how to connect it in a very clear way. Unfortunately for me it turns out he condenser fan motor was out too. I also replaced this myself but had a hard time taking the fan off. Again Rangel saved the day by helping me out and removing the fan. Just to make sure I asked some clarifying questions about the connections and again he patiently explained all of the details. He actually found a mistake I wouldve made that couldve cost me more money. Rangel could easily have said hes too busy for any questions but he really does take his time with each of his customers and does quality work. I highly recommend Rangel!

Called to get my moms furnace fixed, since the heat was on and cold air was blowing instead. We have a newborn in the house so we were looking for someone to come and ASAP. This company right away came, offered options to my mom and were nice and VERY patient on explaining everything to my mother, who she tends to ask a lot of questions. They ended up fixing it for a decent price and the heat was working. Definitely recommend them.

They had the hard to find blower motor I needed and they stay open later than others on Saturday which is a plus. Owner has great customer service and even took the blower motor out of the box and simulated an install with my type of furnace. Definitely goes above and beyond. I stopped in to ask about my blower wheel not properly working. Mr. Rangel (owner) was courteous, and professional when I told him I was working on the furnace myself. He offered a couple of solutions to my problem without hesitation. After learning what my true problem was, I purchased the motor from him at a very reasonable price and with his advise and direction, I installed it and now my furnace is as good as new. I highly recommend this place. We went there on Thanksgiving day in desperate need of an inducer motor to fix our furnace. When we arrived, the store was closed but we called and Rangel came right back to the store just for us. As if that wasnt enough, he also installed the new motor into the piece that we brought with us. Again, I highly recommend this place and Rangel is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to heaters.

My dad was looking for a reliable service and contacted him. He called him and set an appointment with him. He checked the heaters and was not there for more than 15 minutes, and was paid $80. When he called my dad, to tell him what the problem was, he told him that his pump needed to be replaced and he was going to charge him $1200 if wanted his service. My dad was willing to pay for it, but wanted to know what kind of pump he was going to put so he could know the quality. He didn’t want to answer that question and told him something around this lines “if a nail cost a $1 and a person wants to charge you $100, it is for their knowledge.” That the price for the pump didn’t matter but his service was the important part. All my dad wanted to know was what quality of pump he was going to get for that price. Eventually he told him that they range from $200-$600. I don’t think Mr. Rangel understands that customer have the right to know what they are going to pay for their equipment and quality.The second issue was, that at the time he went to check the furnace it was heating the house but the temperatures were not stable. However, after he checked the furnace that same day at night the heater was not heating at all. The temperature dropped inside the house. My dad checked and found the shout off valves were on the off position. He turned them on, and the heater again started to work. Why were they off? We will not know, but someone closed them. At the end, my dad decided not to get his service because of his attitude when he asked him questions.Today, the furnace is working because the thermostats have been regulated correctly and we have not changed the pump. We checked for the price of the pump, in case one day it doesn’t work, and we will buy it for less than $120 and we will install it. As customer we have right to ask questions about what products we are receiving because if we are going to pay for $1200, we deserve to know what are we getting for our hard work money.

Ac stopped working working this time (last time was the furnace).Called Fidel on Sunday.He doesnt work on Sundays but came promptly on Monday. He found some poor wiring done by someone else that finally blew a fuse. $120.00 and I now have ac again.

Stopped in because they were the only shop open in the city that could help me with a replacement HVAC motor on a Saturday. Fidel was super helpful, he showed me how to wire the replacement motor correctly so it would run in 1/3 hp like my original and even offered to pull the original fan assembly off ao I could reuse it. I would highly recommend doing business with this company. The prices were competitive as well. Thanks again Fidel!

We had problems with our furnace without knowing who to contact on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily I came across Rangels shop, I was crossing my fingers for someone to answer the phone. The owner did not only have the part I needed but was also able to put it together for us without charge. The fact that he opened his business on a Sunday to help my family out is truly a blessing. We got great heating service on our previous house. Now we got central air installed in our new house, again great fast service.

I called at 5pm knowing that they were closing at 6pm for parts my furnace needed. The guy who answered the phone was not there when I arrived and had his significant other there looking for pieces that she eventually found. However, their policy is that you cannot return or exchange any part. How am I to know a part works if a certified engineer is not there picking the parts out? Then she wanted to charge me more than the price he quoted over the phone. To add insult to injury she grew impatient with me as I told her prices online were way cheaper!! She even said she closes at 6pm so I needed to hurry up and make a decision and she would not call the owner back (after calling and texting him twice about finding parts) to confirm the prices he quoted. The lady was very rude and impatient with me and unknowledgeable to even be working in a HVAC store. Definitely deserve a no star rating but I will give her credit in saying she tried to find what could be compatible for my furnace but we would never know because I refuse to take a risk on throwing money away for parts I cant even return or exchange. I ended up ordering my parts for the pilot light switch (even tested her and asked her what the part was called she claimed she didn’t know) offline and went to Lowe’s for the Honeywell thermos couple, and going to a HVAC store tomorrow to get the pilot light tubing definitely would give someone else my money than this unprofessional business!**Response to Owner** I left out your doors at 6:10pm because of your staff not knowing what and where parts were located!! It was not amazon prices I was looking at it was PRICES FROM REAL HVAC stores! You need to get some rest so you and your staff can have better attitudes instead of being sarcastic with me at 1 in the morning!! Definitely even more unprofessional!! South Shore Plumbing & Heating 72nd Exchange was wayyyyy more affordable for the same items you all charge 3x more for!!! I got a 3ton air conditioning unit, it was very reasonable and 300 dollars less than another company. I recieved a 1yr warranty on the labor, a 10yr warranty on the unit and 5yr warranty on the coil.I would recommend this company to a lot of my friends, they were professional and on time and they were able to explain to me what things were and how it works

When in to buy replacement part for my furnace and the owner was very nice and informative.

One weekend ago I was on a quest to fix my AC. Being a bit techy thought I would be done in 3hours at the most. My days off are Saturday and Sunday. An hour later no luck, closed or we cannot sell to the general public, ughhhhhh. I dont know how it missed but Rangels Ac repair a was on the internet. Knowing the part that I thought I needed I called and within 1/2 part in hand. The young lady may have seen a look of puzzlement because she did not hesitate to call Fidel and verify the part, so off I went. No luck so I tried part fortunately for me he has another store front near 79th and Pulaski so I drove there and 2nd part in hand. We spoke some time were he allowed me to pick his brain a bit, really. I was amazed of course at his knowledge but that he would take the time to be very thorough in his explanation. You dont meet people like this anymore. After All day Saturday I continued on Sunday and a a few hours during the week. After realizing I was defeated and on against my better judgement I went to someone who was recommended from a friend of mine. He came by did everything I did to try and solve the problem, but no luck. Only an explanation of why I have 2 options. One replace the same unit for $3000 or upgrade for $3000. And off he went $260 because he said he added 2 lbs of freon before checking if the compressor and his time. Broken hearted and this time not following anyones advice I called on the start of one of the hottest weeks in Chicago. He was able to squeeze me in and within an hour my AC was up and running and for no where, NO WHERE NEAR, $3000. The best part is I actually felt comfortable with his thorough explanation of the problem and he was willing to answer more without not even a frown. How many times can you say you paid for a mechanical problem and felt rewarded at the end. Thank you Fidel from my family to yoursRuben

THIS is what you call professional customer service! My family has veen without heat because 2 of 4 places sold us the wrong parts OR the service was so bad that we couldnt get any clarity. The third of 4 almost had us because it was 9 blocks closer, but our gut feeling told us to go to Rangel just in case.The woman behind the counter was very kind and precise as she checked and verified everything. When we asked a question that she was stuck on she called the owner. He came right away and reaffirmed what she told us and hete is the BEST part....he SHOWED us how to connect each part and even used items from his stock (that we didnt purchase).
