Beautiful shop with products from around the world!!!! Loved the large assortment of pens. I will be back!!!

Staff seemed afraid when i walked in to buy a money clip in the middle of the day. Maybe because I’m Black or maybe because I’m handsome. I’ll come back in a few weeks and give final verdict on if this was an isolated event or a pattern.

Favorite travel store. It’s a little pricey but so worth it. The stationary is what dreams are made of.

I love coming by this store to check out cool gifts for people. But they also recently started selling fun Asian snacks & high quality pantry staples, so it’s been fun trying out new things. Regardless, always a great spot to stop in & browse around.

Wonderful store- so glad I came across it! Tons of pens and notebooks for stationery lovers, which is what caught my eye, but lots of other really neat stuff, too! The staff was super pleasant and helpful when I had questions as well. Cant wait to make this Christmas gift destination!

Clean and well organized storefront with unique products staffed with pleasant, upbeat personnel. 3/5 because the hours posted are not the actual hours operated. Confirmed with Google, the website, and the sign on the front of the store that they were to be opened 10-7 today, Thursday Dec 3rd. Upon arrival at 10:45am, the store was lit up but the sign was flipped to “Sorry, We’re Closed!” I went back to my car and watched two other people attempt to enter and also be surprised the store was not opened. I then saw the employee arrive with coffee and breakfast from a coffee shop, unlock the door, lock the door behind her again, and the store remained closed. It is likely the store is staffed with minimal employees to control payroll like most boutique (especially given current unprecedented circumstances) but I would suggest updating your signage to “Be back in 30” etc. to allow for employee breaks while also clearly communicating when potential clients could come back to make a purchase. I waited in my car for another 20 minutes to see if anyone opened the store, before leaving disappointed around 11:15am. I will still be shopping here and encourage others to do the same, and hope management takes into consideration better communicating when/how to shop to clients.Edit: When I came back to my car around 11:45pm they had posted a sign indicating there were technical issues, which I appreciated. I updated my review to 5/5.

OMG are you kidding me? This place is way too overpriced. $1.80 per eraser?? I have exactly the same ones and they are like 50 cents each! They said the products come from Japan so I guess there are some shipping and store margin fees, but thats still ridiculous. Also, I have the same photo album exactly as one of theirs (back in the photo), which I paid $20 for, but they are selling them for $45 each...The place has great atmosphere but honestly I am not sure how they are different from other online sites when they just sell albums, notebooks, pens, socks, etc.

Very clean and organized! It was my first time visiting and I’m ready to go back! Very cool products and good selection of stationary. Staff on site was very friendly and attentive.

I noticed that most things here are sold at a little bit of a markup, like $18 vs $12 for the handkerchiefs, but Im fine with it since everything Ive bought has been manufactured in Japan or Italy and imported. Its super fun how they have test pens and notebooks so you can try everything out. Beware of this place if you are a stationary type person, youll want EVERYTHING. The last time I went, they were VERY busy, but the people working were very helpful as soon as you asked for something.

Great place for Japanese goods in Chicago. They have Ippodo teas (even Matcha) and Itoen (even Koicha). They even have Bento boxes!

Could this store get any better? The pens! The notebooks! The clever letterpress cards! I walked in and mistook the place for heaven. If youre a someone like me who loves paper, this spot is for you!

Top drawer is a really cute store with lots of great high quality simple things. The pencils are really amazing. If youre wondering if its possible to get excited about a pencil this is a good place to go.

Cute store that is a collector of stationary trinkets dream. Packs of pens and markers to choose from with high quality ink. The paper in notebooks and pocketbooks are good for bullet journaling and have good quality too so that the ink doesnt bleed through each page. Miscellaneous outdoorsy items can be bought here too.

The store itself is awesome, with quality inventory and products. I had a great experience with the staff exchanging one of my products and felt a great commitment to Customer Experience throughout my interaction with support. Definitely hoping they bring a store to New York here soon!

The store itself has a wonderful layout and is so fun to browse. If you’re looking for notebooks, pens, pencil cases, etc. I’d definitely stop in here. The items have a bit of a utilitarian feel but are definitely attractive too. They have a great selection of unique postcards and greeting cards as well.

I bought a pair of Izipizi readers for $40 at this store. Ive had them for several months and the plastic broke. Its nothing that can be fixed and I wanted to see if I could get a replacement pair since the glasses were obviously defective. The clerk told me that since they were priced so cheaply, that they couldnt replace them. $40 for a pair of readers is not cheap. He said that since the company is a foreign company, they couldnt stand by the product. He said he could give me a 30% discount on another pair. This is very bad customer service. If you cant stand behind your merchandise for more than 30 days, you shouldnt be selling it. I would never buy anything here again.

Really cool concept of selling quality basics for travel, writing, and photography. Some items have a higher price point but live up to their quality. Definitely a great spot to check out for a gift for any age.

My favorite nik nak, stationary, slipper, bento box and more store. I bought a watercolor set, 3 fountain pens a portable lamp and more. Friendly people

Shawna or whatever she is was highly unprofessional. She cancelled the appointment at the last minute without informing me. I had a 2 pmappointment. There was not even a courtesy call to let me know. Shawna was unprofessional and just trailer park trash. You needs to know most of your customers are Asians in this city. If you don’t get along just get back to your trailer-park white trash ways. She should be fired!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous store with high quality stationary and accessories. Pens of all imagubabke colors and high quality paper notebooks. A stationary junkies dream come true.

I live in Wicker Park and I am so happy this store moved in. The earlier review was really off base on the pricing. I think the prices are solid. This store offers legit products that are truly well-made and unique. Loved the Merippa house shoes from Japan, the truly unique selection of notebooks from around the world (not just Japan), solid pen collection and very unique bags I have never seen anywhere else. This is my favorite new tool store. And the Kolo albums. I love to see that variety and no, I cant find them anywhere else cheaper. I think the pricing was fair, the store is stunning and the staff is super nice. A+
