The service was fantastic, and the descriptions of each wine were outstanding. The wine I bought from this establishment was wonderful. The apple cider combination was delicious. This wine shop is one of my favorites since it has a great range of wines. It was a really peaceful and private setting. I will most certainly return to this company!!
I like coming here to drink wine. The possibilities are excellent, and the owners are even better. What a lovely place to unwind after a hard day. The wines they provided, as well as the food, were superb. The atmosphere of this establishment attracted to me since it appeared warm and friendly. I will most certainly return to this wine shop.
Chris, the owner is very friendly and helpful. Great wine & whiskey selections. Will be back.
The experience I had from this wine shop was totally amazing, and it was nice because the staffs here are super friendly and capable. I really enjoyed this place because everything here was so amazing and delightful. I will surely tell all my friends about this shop, and Im sure that I will come back here again. Thank you so much! Keep it up!
I would like to commend the people that managed to provide me with all the things that I needed from services down to selecting good wine. It was truly a nice and memorable experience. I will definitely come back here and shop for more good and high-quality wines.
The team is fantastic, and its really a pleasure to work with them. The prices arent cheap, but once you try it, youll see why. Thank you so much!
We have been visiting this wine shop for five years and think it is a great business delivering great wine and great value with excellent service. We order online and enjoy our free travel on Eurotunnel. We make an overnight trip and love exploring the area. The wine is excellent value and a wide range available. A must visit!
I went in last weekend for the Bombay sandwich, which has been my favorite in the city for 8 years. When I walked in, the owner startled me by standing right inside the door and asking “can I help you??” like I had just walked into his personal residence uninvited. I looked around and asked if they still served sandwiches, since it looked different since I was last in there, and he told me no (with a tone like they had NEVER sold sandwiches), and I was in the wrong store.Maybe they’ve gone in a different direction, or are under new management, but it was a bizarre experience. A review from 2months ago talks about sandwiches so it’s clearly a recent change...just telling me that would have been fine and normal. Oh well, time to find a new favorite curry chicken sandwich!
The owners are very helpful, but drinks are very expensive. You can buy some of the from Walmart with half price.
The owners are incredibly nice and friendly. Great selection! Give them your business, not Walgreens, like the review below says.
Yesterday I walked into this establishment checking them out as I had passed them several times on my lunch break. Dressed appropriately as I was then on my lunch break, I casually come in to look at the items that were in their store. I was asked numerous times by what seemed to be the owners wife what was I looking for. I simply stated I had passed by this establishment several times and I wanted to see the variety of things they had. Shortly after, the owner comes out and says hi and asks if I need help, I reply again that I am just looking. He then replies For what?! We have wine other places dont have and thats the story so what do you need? I reply again that I pass by the store often on my break and I just was looking to see what they have. (At this point I have said the same thing at least 4-6 times). So then he goes Yeah how do you like the weather? and Im like Yeah its cool! and he replies Yeah well I am trying to get a tan. I wanna be as black as you! Please keep in mind that I am an African American and he seemed to be Caucasian. I was very offended by the nature of this conversation and how I had to constantly tell both persons that I was just window shopping nothing further. I will not be back to this establishment and I hope this review evokes the same measure to those who read it. I am very glad none of my money was spent here. This place deserves to be shut down for such comments.
Not sure if this has changed owner recently, but I dont recognize the negative reviews. We discovered this place a few months ago and now its our go-to liquor store - primarily because the couple who run it are so incredibly friendly, and although the store is relatively small it has an excellent range of beer, wine, and spirits. They also have a deli counter. We like it. Theyre nice people.
Decent street parking. Great salads. Fresh deli sandwiches. Friendly staff provide quick service. Great lunch spot in Lincoln Park. Grab & go!
This business has changed management/ownership in the last 18 months. It has transformed into wine heaven. The owner is very knowledgable with wine and even invited me taste his wine picks of the day with a great conversation about wine in general. I did not go in anticipating to buy a bottle but his warm spirit - knowledge - appreciation and intrigue for the customer and wine really made me feel welcome so I decided to purchase my favorite chardonnay from the tasting. So excited to live near this wine gem!He also carries beer and the selections are wonderful and beautifully displayed!
Yum! This place is awesome and I dont know how it isnt packed all the time! The sandwich ingredients are phenomenal and someone who knows sandwiches has obviously taken time to design tasty sandwiches with developed flavors. The sandwiches arent expensive either! The only downside is there are only a few two-top tables so it is better to get a to-go order and eat elsewhere.
Been going here for years. Great owners and best selection anywhere in Lincoln Park. Review below mine blows my mind.....they’re Greek and the nicest people ever
Prices for beer are ok, but I dont enjoy constantly being asked what Im looking for.
1.5 times markup on all products..
Owners are very annoying and non helpful. I accepted a recommendation from the owner regarding a liquor, it was terrible. I couldnt look around for a minute before being intrupinted by one of them. Go to miskas or the Walgreens down the street, better service and prices.
Expensive for they offer. Cold beer is worth the premium
One of the nicest owners and they make a killer panini. I recommend the hot club panini.
This store has an extensive selection of liquor and beer as well as deli sandwiches and other items. They are very friendly and helpful I would highly recommend this location
I personally had an awful experience at this establishment. I went in looking for a beer that I did not expect them to have, but thought it would be a good chance to check out a new place. Their beer coolers were in disarray, but I was cool with that. I spent some time checking through everything before the owner asked what I was looking for. I told him, and then was scoffed at for thinking they might still have that seasonal beer. I told him I understood that and it was just a long shot because I saw it listed online as in stock there. He then asked what beer I wanted. I told him I just wanted to keep browsing, but he kept pressuring me saying that I must have come in for some type of beer and to just tell him. I told him again that I just wanted to browse and he still pushed and said that the hawks would be on in a couple hours and that I should just buy a beer already. Throughout this process he became increasingly hostile, despite me staying calm and polite.Soon he rubbed me the wrong way enough though that I decided to leave. As I started to walk out he said yeah, see Im not the type to f**k around with people like you. That struck me as especially odd because I had just come from work and was wearing a button down oxford shirt, pressed dress pants, and shined dress shoes. I am an especially polite person, and only expressed curiosity in what beers he had available. After he said that comment I did lose my temper some and told him I probably would have bought some beer from him if he wasnt such a d**k. I said this as I walked out the door and he proceeded to follow me and call me every name in the book. As I walked across the street to my car he threatened to fight me and then called me a pu**y for not fighting him. As I walked across I could hear him saying Im right here big man, where you going? and other similar comments.I will admit to losing my temper after he cursed at me, but everything I have said here is the truth. I did not leave out anything said or done by either party. The owner was pushy, impatient, rude, demeaning, and downright hostile. He ran me out of his establishment for wanting to explore his beer selection, and was willing to fight me in the street for no further provocation than what I have mentioned here. The most preposterous thing is up until I lost my temper I was exceptionally polite and nice to this man. I was even going to walk out of his establishment quietly after being looked down upon for wanting a certain beer and then being borderline harassed for wanting to look through his selection.I love trying new beers and just wanted to see what he had here. His variety was poor though, and his stock was old. I probably still would have bought a beer or two just to be polite, since I did see a couple I had not tried. Because of his actions I will never go there again though, and would advise anyone considering this place to take their money elsewhere.Update - It seems like from other sites that this store has recently undergone a management change. You might consider that when reading my review in comparison to others here. Yelp reviews list new management as abrasive, mean, sloppy, and not up to par with new management. What a shame.
Fabulous paninis. LOVE this place!!! Best lunch around ❤️
Absolutely horrible customer service. Dispectful and impatient. Harassed me for just looking at the wines. Left bc I was so uncomfortable and got a bottle at Trader Joes, which I recommend over this place.
Favorite sandwiches in Lincoln Park, hands down! This place definitely has a European-style deli vibe--lots of olives, baguettes, and wonderful deli meats. My favorite sandwich is the Barcelona--ham, cheddar cheese and some sort of amazing chipotle cole slaw.Heads up: theres a minimum charge of $10 for credit cards. Also, you can dine inside but the 5 stars is definietly for the food, not the ambiance. Great to take the sandwiches to the park for a picnic :)
I drove around looking for my favorite wine called prisoner, found it at this small amazing shop love it!!
I simply asked if they carried 3 Flyods beer and was rudely told that its not available for just some guy off the street presumably saving it for locals/regulars. He asked if I wanted anything else, which I did not and he was clearly irritated by this. He sarcastically told me to have a nice day as he walked away. I was speechless and in complete shock. His level of rudeness was almost comical. This place is like an SNL skit.
Excellent deli fare and sandwiches! Great staff.
Good, tasty sandwiches. Decent prices.
Nice selection of beer and wine. Check it out.
Got sworn at for asking for a cooking burgundy. Beware of proprietor this store if he thinks you are below his high opinion of himself
Great owners, excellent selection of wine, beer, and spirits.
9 bucks and 3 slides of some boreshead meat. Weak!
Its a liquor store now, its use to be an awesome sandwich gourmet deli that many people love, and friendly place . Its an attitude spot with terrible service now . I would never go back .
The male owner is extremely rude and harasses you.
Deli-cious!
