Nice place to go but seriously over rated!Food is decent, staff does their best in managing full house. They now charge a Covid Fee to make up for lost time during the pandemic, and its not considered a tip for your waiter so please tip your waiter as many are not leaving a tip. Thinking this fee is the tip, make sure your hostess that seats you explains this as they didnt say a word to me party. Thank God we had an excellent waiter and did tip him well. For a party of 4 adults we paid over 400.00 not including tip and Covid fee. No matter where you eat always reveiw your bill/receipt.
We had so much fun at the Sugar Factory on a Sunday night. At least 3 times half the staff sang and danced for customers. Their $42 bowls were fun cause they use dry ice to make it Smokey. All of the drinks were great and our server Ryan was awesome! David and Raul also helped us at the bar that night, they were great, too!
Very interesting place. Wide selection of candy themed drinks, burgers, pasta, and salads. For me the drinks were too sweet. The food was good but not great. The price was high. Looked like most of the customers were tourists. They do have good music and a good sound system. Wild lighting and they have sports on the TVs.
First time here, I just had to see what all the rave was about. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. Okay, to get a drink that was smoking was interesting. The price for the drink was $30 but I didn’t have to pay.🙂 The excitement was when the wait staff came out to celebrate birthdays and the lights go down and the music 🎶 is being played loud. Good job on instantly making the birthday person feel like they’re having a party at the table. I came, I saw and I’m good! 🙂
I loved the service ambiance and everything about this place. It was worth everything I spent, from customer service to quality and quantity of the food. This place definitely lived up to the hype. Remember this is a desert place speciality, not a food place specialty. The drinks and deserts live up to the hype. The burgers you can get anywhere. That Shrimp Alfredo was banging. The noodles were not dry. I could’ve just eaten the Alfredo with no noodles. I order a half size Kong desert and it was so live. I loved how they brought it to the table clapping and playing music. I’m glad I listened to Claudia (my server) and didn’t get the big size Kong desert. It is pricy, but for me it was worth every single penny. My server Claudia was great. If you are cheap, don’t come here because you won’t know how to appreciate this type of setting. I’ll be back for sure. Yes there is a 20% gratuity added to every bill and yes you should still tip. For my husband and I we spent 300$ total.
My very first time visiting here, and Im glad I trusted my judgement, and not others. The drink was everything. I had the strawberry margarita goblet. My dinner was the SF signature burger. I had it prepared medium well, and it was tasty bite, by bite. Sugar Factory is whisical, and the vibe is lit. Music was on point!!!! You will not be disappointed visiting here.
The first time I went to Sugar Factory, it was fantastic. This time, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences Ive ever had.First, my friend and I ordered the Candy Shop alcoholic drink. The drink took nearly an hour and a half to come out. I was pretty much done with my food, and my friend and I were preparing to leave. On top of that, the drink was disgusting. It tasted like pure, watered-down tequila. It had no type of candy flavor as was described on the menu. We didnt even finish a quarter of the drink. The drink was $42.Second, my friend ordered a coke, and they brought her a glass of grape juice. When the waitress came back, we told her, and then it took her 45 minutes to come back out with a glass of coke. By that time, we had already paid and were putting our jackets on to leave.Third, another one of my friends and I found hairs in both of our foods! My friend noticed the hair in hers, but I didnt notice mine until I was halfway done with my burger and bit into the center. I had to pull the hair out of my mouth! 🤮 We called the manager over and he tried to justify it and say, Well, everyone in the kitchen is bald, so Im not sure how a hair got into your food. ..... the chefs dont have to have hair for hair to be in my food.We both received a refund on our food items, but I most certainly will not be choosing to come back to this Sugar Factory location. Overpriced for the poor quality food I received.
We came from out of town, jasmine was our server and she was AMAZING. i don’t understand why there are any bad reviews. the food was at reasonable prices. you get what you pay for. 5 stars for food, service, and atmosphere!! recommended to everyone! first experience and we loved it. Thank you!!! I just wish there was an option to customize the tip, they deserve more than 20%!
My experience was very glamorous. Everything screamed pink, Las Vegas bachelorette party vibes, and so many pictures of celebrities at Sugar Factory. I purchased a 2 burgers, an alcoholic drink, and dessert for two and with the 20% extra fee (I forgot what’s it’s called) I ended paying almost $100. I think it’s very overpriced, but I did enjoy the food. This place is definitely just for the experience. The only thing that annoyed the hell out of me was my waitress kept trying to get me to take a shot. She asked me multiple times throughout my entire dinner and even when I asked for the check even though I declined and told her, no thank you. Make reservations if you want a table.
Service was good. Drinks were strong. Friends loved the Chicken Alfredo. Chicken & waffles left something to be desired. Overall a good experience
OMG went here for the 1st time last month and I absolutely enjoyed the experience but I did not care for the limited menu nor the prices especially the lobster tail that I received which was a $100 meal the drink everyone talks about was not that great I was not impressed it had a weird taste But maybe it was the flavor that I got would try again its a once in a year or Blue Moon type place
The people here are very friendly and the play is beautiful and fun in general..but it is very pricey. I really enjoyed it tho, worth it.
Fun experience. Cool drinks. Kinda only went for the novelty of it lol
Its a festive place but the food is just okay and very limited menu. But its a kid friendly place with all the hoopla, gimmick
Edit update: I originally rated this place four stars just because its pricey. Im updating my review to five stars because the service has been outstanding. We left the restaurant and my son forgot his to-go milkshake. By the time we ran back they had bussed the table, but the manager gladly and with no questions made my son of brand new shake. if Im paying extra for this kind of service, Ill gladly do it!!This place requires reservations to dine, which is easily done via open table. It was very pricey. $36 for a cocktail is not my speed, but 2 people could drink them and they were beautiful to look at. I did get a peanut butter cup martini, more reasonable at $14. The non alcoholic milkshakes ranged from $12-$19 dollars, and I did splurge on one for my son. It was huge and full of candy, so no dessert required! We ordered the regular burger and I was surprised that it was a moist and flavorful burger with good fries. They automatically add 20% gratuity, but even if they didnt, I would have tipped well because our server Brittney was great. She gave me multiple complimentary shots and was very attentive. The atmosphere was fun, with many parties ordering the $100 sundae that came with fire, but that was not for us today. I was happy to watch others joy. All in all, I wouldnt frequent a place like this, but for a holiday treat, it was fun and the food was better then expected.
We took my niece for her birthday and we all were so disappointed. Do not believe the hype! The most overpriced nasty dinner I’ve ever had in my life!!! Ordered fettuccine Alfredo, found green beans in the bowl! Shrimp was salty, Alfredo was watery and blandRainbow sliders were gummy and lobster was over cooked. The kids didn’t even like the pizza. It tasted like gummy spaghetti o’s. The only thing that was worth the visit was the dry ice cocktail…. Never again! Ugh
Service was good. Drinks not so much (too sweet and not strong) Food was gross.
I celebrated my daughter 15th birthday there. We traveled from Mi. The staff was nice very pretty inside. The salmon was delicious but a little pricey but worth it
I would have given a zero rating if possible. Way overpriced and the food is very basic. When making the reservation nothing was said about an additional 20 percent service charge, not a tip. I asked the server to explain the charge and she said it was to pay their wage. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 25 years and this is a joke. If you cant afford to pay your employees than you should go out of business!!!! Or you should at least have the decency to tell your patrons before they make a trip to your shady business. When you charge $20 for a milkshake you should be able to pay your employees!!! Hopefully this is one of the restaurants that goes under sooner than later!
Wow... great experience! This was my first time here and when I tell you this was the best customer service Ive had in a very long time and I eat restaurant food damn near everyday! We had a party of 8 and our waiter Blake had the patience of a saint! The drinks and the food was amazing! The manager Mr. Basil was walking around checking on the customers! He stopped at our table, I spoke to him about our experience and all I can say is WOW thanks! Whenever I visit Chicago I will be back to this establishment!
I had a totally awesome experience here! The wait time is long, but it was so worth it. The drink was fantastic and so much fun. The environment is just like nothing else Ive ever experienced before. I wish I had more time to spend in Chicago so I could stop here again. If I get back to the city, this will definitely be a stop I make again!
Good place for a kids birthday. Good service and ok food
Not sure what all the hype was about. I mean, I know it is Chicago, but the prices were quite up there as if it was fine dinning and it was not fine dinning. There was six of us, so tip was already factored and placed on the bill. Which I always dislike just because where is the motivation to go beyond normal service when you already know you are getting a 20% tip. Waitress was friendly, but forget silver and plates, so that was a bit of a wait. The have a larger variety on drinks, but everything was way overpriced. You are looking at like $30 to get a big drinking the has the steam coming out of it, and if you want alcohol in it, add another $15. I most likely wouldn’t return. Maybe a fun time to bring a little way for overpriced ice cream and koolaid, but I’m good with a one and done.
The food was amazing. We had the sampler. It was enough to feed five people. It was a snack actually for us. The grape crush drink was a dream. The smore milkshake was delicious!
The place is way over priced for food that was delivered. The NY Steak and Fries was $38, which looked like it came from a hole in a wall. The non alchol drink $33, your paying for the decorations of the drink. I got a long Island which was supposed to have alchol, it seemed to be a Virginia. They ran out of food on a Monday. No social distances. It was very packed. The five star does go to the waiter Kane. He actually tried to make the experience better. I spent $160 there and when I went to Hells Kitchen spent more and got better quality of food and drinks. The place would be worth it, if the food and drinks was better quality.
The atmosphere was really nice! We really loved our server Solo he did an amazing job! The menu is a little pricey but that was expected. The alcoholic drinks were really good! I ordered the chicken Alfredo and it was pretty bland I wish it had more flavor especially for the price. The bread that came with the meal was really good that was the best part of the meal. For my first experience it was really nice with the scene, the server and the drinks I was just a little disappointed with the food.
Delicious. Food and drink was good.... my wife was the dessert
This place doesn’t even deserve 1 stars! The food is very mediocre and my waiter named Michael K altered my tip. I tipped him $5 but instead he took it upon himself to tip himself $25. The total I paid including the tip should’ve been $206.59 and not $225. It wasn’t by accident, they were not busy he just thought I wasn’t going to double check my final receipt.I notified the manager and even he could not explain why the server altered the tip and just said sorry. The manager didn’t even offer to comp my meal. The craziest part about it is that the waiter blamed me for HIS wrong doing.Who knows how many other people this waiter have scammed. I will be contacting the GM about this matter and Michael K needs to be fired!
Fun atmosphere and colorful drinks. Very pricy. Automatic 20% gratuity charge which the Manager makes clear is not actually gratuity for the server. So servers expect tip on top. Thats 40% on top of what you pay to eat/drink!
Thomas was an amazing server! We loved our samples and the drink was delicious. Overall super fun experience.
Love love love Sugar Factory!! Food is always good and the service is always great. I didnt agree with the 20% service fee they automatically add. But we came here for a couple birthdays and it was worth it!!
I had a BLAST for my bday 🥳🎃🎉🎈
The food and drinks were great! However they are not lit 🔥 like the LA crew. They did not dance to the song when they delivered the dessert they all just clapped. LA crew had routines for the songs and made it feel like a party.
I normally don’t write reviews but this time I had to. I love coming here just because the food is great and it’s a different kind experience. BUT i feel like it’s going down hill. I haven’t been to a any restaurant like the sugar factory who give their diners bottles of water and a small 8oz pop. If I knew this was going to be my experience this time around, I would have just cooked myself. The best part that is you are automatically charged a 20% Service fee. In my opinion there shouldn’t be a any kind of fee with that kind of severe
Love the atmosphere and of course all the sweets! Food was average but the drinks are over the top and very tasty! The birthday treatment is one of a kind and I would go back just for my birthday every year! Service was attentive and friendly. Would recommend for anyone who has never been to a Sugar Factory before.
Good food the employees great every thing was nice
This place is a cool place to go once. Very expensive and kind of neat. The 20% charge added was a bit of a shock considering it didnt just go to the waitress.
Great food and a fun atmosphere. Our waitress was really attentive and friendly. Great experience.
Pls dont let the menu photo fool you all the food served was Small portions (my $29 Alfredo chicken, SMALL but good) 7up only true soft drink.Root beer mix +water not good. My Grandson had a $25 too damn expensive shake (he liked it).Between the music & the extremely LOUD customers not the best dining experience. Not going back!
Very overpriced and extremely gimmicky. Don’t waste your time
Our server Kyle was Awsome she gave our table complementary shots and she kept making sure we were all having fun. Everything was fun overall as an experience. The place is just super expensive for what you’re actually getting.
This place is totally over rated the food was horrible the cheeseburger was blend n so was the Mac n cheese, the beer selection was terrible only three choices. I mean it was as tasteless as the Kardashians. This place was beyond I mean beyond expensive. They should spend more money on better quality food n training on prepping, then paying all those celebraties. I gave this place 2 stars because waitress was good.
First time here and will definitely be coming back. Drinks and food were AMAZING. The atmosphere was so fun! Our server Brittany was amazing! She gave us great recommendations and GREAT service!!! We can’t wait to come back!!
Need to make sure you have reservations, but even then, you may wait a bit to be seated. Also, they wont seat you until all of your party members are present. Servers are very attentive and food and drinks are served in a timely manner. We didnt have napkins or silverware when our food arrived, but a manager quickly took care of getting us those himself. Food tastes great, and you get large portions. The drinks are the highlight...tastes great and look even better, especially the goblets when they pour the drink over the dry ice.
I flew to Chicago about a week ago to celebrate my birthday & ate @ sugar factory. I made my reservations weeks before & everything was a breeze. I LOVED MY SERVER HE MADE MY EXPERIENCE EVERYTHINGGG. Shout out to Weenie for my making my day so special i’ll never forget this birthday. He was so polite, down to earth, he took care of us, and went above & beyond. love you Weenie if u see this lol . oh yea the food was good too get the salmon sisters!
Good food and drinks! My friend didnt get the the free rubber duck with her rainbow sliders because they were out of stock.
Drinks were good, food was mediocre at best. Rainbow sliders tasted like dye, onion rings were AWFUL. My burger would have been decent for $8 but for $19, definitely not. Place is pretty run down and dirty, definitely past its prime. If youre going to go, just get drinks and eat somewhere else.
Ordered the smores martini, I guess they brought us out a smores shakeWe didnt know and drank it but it wasnt 18 like the martini, it was 33 dollars...It was absolutely trash, smore on top ice cold, Graham crackers were stale and mushy and badEspresso was meh
Great selection of sweets and awesome service!
The candy store was fun and over the top. Nothing had prices on it so beware if visiting with kids. The speciality drinks are chock full of sugar but I think you should expect that with a place called the Sugar Factory. As for the food - it was good and decently priced.
Dinner birthday celebration on 7/9/2021 first they tell you a two hour limit for the table, Then there is a 20% surcharge that’s is added on my bill, we only had 3 people, not 6! So that means that your waiter does not have to give you good or great service, our waiter was bad!!!! And that’s because there TIPS is guaranteed. came only one time to check on us and when he did… he said to use what’s up! Also we wanted to order and ice-cream we were going to order the banana split that cost $20 and the told us we will not get the music that we would have order the $99 dollar that feeds 12 we had 3 in our party. We will never go back.. we spent $275 for bad service and couldn’t do the birthday celebration. I will not recommend the sugar factory to anyone…
