I took Camp SUP with Kirsten as well as have a 10-hour pass for rentals - Everything has been awesome! Kirsten gave me great advice on how to fix my terrible paddle technique and control the board better. When I come in on my own for rentals, the staff is always super friendly.

Renting paddleboards here was easy and seamless. We bothered Ian a ton before getting there, but he answered all of our questions and was very helpful! Our guide Alex gave us a good little tutorial before we went out which was helpful. The wind changed when we were out there, and we kept getting taken out really far (where we werent supposed to be). After we fought our way back in, Alex and Ian informed us that they had eyes on us the whole time and were ready with a jetski in case we got out of sight. Overall, it was fun and this rental company is cool!

We were at the North Ave Beach location. It ended up being very windy and so wavy that we were carried out very far and could not make it back. There were 5 of us. SUP had no rescue plan. EJ, a paddle board instructor, was great and attempted to rescue us with a jetski (that they almost didnt let him take), but even the waves were too much for the jetski (we flipped on the jetski during rescue attempts). We ended up being rescued by complete strangers on a boat who were nice enough to bring us and our boards on. SUP shouldnt have allowed paddle boarding that day, and if they were, they should have rescue plans in place. EJ was great, 10/10 would recommend EJ though.

They make it simple. If you’re just looking to hop on and paddle board, this is the place.

Chicago SUP is the best. My friends and I started off with a lesson, which I highly recommend. They’ll teach you how to hold the paddle (it isn’t common sense), several basic strokes, and how to stand up on the board. I’ve been back countless times since- I’m hooked. I’ve done sunrise paddles (beautiful), a full moon paddle (equally beautiful), and learned from the amazing resident Pro in Camp Sup and privates. I recommend it all. Ian and the Camp Sup staff are very helpful!

Kiersten was a great instructor! My friend who had never done any SUP in the past, was standing up and paddling within 10 minutes of Kierstens direction.Location is beautiful, price is right, all staff is super helpful, laid back and happy!Id def go again, and im looking forward to a sunrise, and moon lit paddle next!Much love to Chicago SUP!✌🏻💚🤙🏼🙌🏼

Kirsten, the main instructor, is a passionate leader in the Chicago SUP community and this comes through in the service and experience in renting a board and taking classes. Definitely go out and give paddling a try! It’s good for all ages. I’m hooked.

Highly recommend!!!My husband and I had such a great time paddling. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and gave us great instructions. I had been a little intimidated by this sport before, but Chicago SUP made everything so easy and fun. We will definitely be back!

Stand up paddling in Chicago! Thats cool, the prices are fair and the renting and paddling uncomplicated. However paying for a lesson might only be needed for kids or people who never absolutely have no clue about paddling, I expected some more instructions and information about SUP, not just a 2min demonstration how to hold the paddle, but ok...Also they offer to take pictures and sent it to you (if you paddle with an instructor during the lesson)Unfortunately they never sent me my picture, too bad and overall a bit disappointing.Apart from that its seems a great activity to do with friends.

Luved d paddle boarding...was doin for first time, njoyed a lot. I tuk a lesson. Instructor was good and professional. the location is best in chicago downtown I will say. I wil go again and again.

Scammers! Liars! A few years ago I booked a group SUP. They called me and cancelled because it was raining/thunder/lightening/the works. An hour or so later the weather changed (yay Chicago!) and was sunny again. I had already cancelled with my group as it required several to leave work early or come in from the suburbs.They REFUSED to refund me our deposit. Then when I made a claim with my credit card company they lied and said I was the one who had cancelled. SUP one offer was to rebook the group for a later date...but there was only a week left in the season and of course that wasnt possible! They refused to return my calls or figure out a solution.Horrible business practices.

Update to my review 7/11/2020. Got a call from the owner. Apparently he was the one who insulted me when I called about scheduling an appointment. He tried to apologize but ended up literally yelling at me on the phone because hes too busy and has too many customers and didnt think my dissatisfaction was legitimate. Well, he lost one customer forever. Sorry to hear your business is thriving during COVID and its stressful. Im sure there are many small business owners who would love to be in your shoes, Ill give them my money and loyalty instead.

Love ChicagoSUP! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Quality gear & boards provided. So glad they are able to offer rentals and limited storage right now at Diversey Harbor! Will definitely be sending people their way.

I give up. I was really excited to explore Chicago SUP and planned to buy an unlimited package. Rotten customer service. I was chastised for buying a service they werent offering (then why is the web link active?) After I was placed on hold and then disconnected, I called back only to be chastised again that they were too busy to talk to me. Despite my initial experience, I rented a board, attempted to drive to their location and couldnt find it. I called again and was told to go to their website and Google the location (I was driving). No help with landmarks or where to park. I tried to do as I was told and after wandering aimlessly for an hour, I gave up and went home. Chicago SUP management, please get help for you overwhelmed customer service rep or find someone who can handle the job.

SUP Yoga is the best way to start the weekend or close out the day. It is equally relaxing and challenging. Curin tailored our class to fit all of the attendees skill and experience levels (which ranged from never having been on a paddle board or taken a yoga class to those with more experience with yoga and paddle boarding). And you can’t find a better location for photos documenting the experience with the city backdrop! I highly recommend this class.

I LOVE THEM! This is where I learned to SUP back in 2012! The staff has always been kind and helpful! I havent SUPed in a few years, I had a Groupon that hadnt been used. Though they werent able to honor it exactly this year (due to Covid, only Diversey was open and the Groupon was for the beachfront), they were able to offer a BOGO and I took advantage of it! I had never been to the Diversey Harbor location to SUP, so was not sure what to expect. The young men that day were great! Kind, polite and very helpful. Being on the harbour was different, but made for a very nice calming and safe SUP experience! the weather was magnificent and there were a good amount of SUP-ers so werent alone on the water but it wasnt too crowded! I think this is a great option for first-timers as well! I loved it and cant wait to go back! Thank you Chicago SUP for a great day.

I had an amazing experience with Chicago Sup. They were very professional and they were a pleasure to deal with. I was lucky enough to do the wake surfing experience and had a great time. I was able to drop the rope and surf for a long time. The boat they had was perfect and I was able to get unbelievable surf-able wake. The instructions they gave were very clear and helpful. You could tell that they were committed to making me better and it was genuine. Awesome time. Nice beach. Great first time experience. Lots of fun. Went there with the kids 10,12. Groupon applies after 4 pm only. Lost expensive shades( wear cheap ones or strap or go without.....) would definitely come back. There s jet ski rental and kayak right there. Beach was awesome. Had volley ball courts. Great view of the city.

About as good of an off-coast view of downtown chicago as youre going to get without a boat. Super friendly employees and they give you plenty of time out there to do your thing on the lake. Lots of fun.

Had a great time paddle boarding in July. Unfortunately I fell in with my phone. The redhead girl with glasses ( Emily I think was her name) was very kind and let me use the cell to call a ride like 5 times in a span of 4 hours. She needs a raise

Super friendly and extremely helpful staff!

Stopped by on a whim and was met with a warm greeting. Theyve got a place to change and store your valuables, then it was off to my instructor Gabe. This was my first time paddle boarding and Gabe was just a cool guy with helpful tips on how to stand, how to hold the paddle and steer your board. I took to the water, ate it about eight times, but ahhh, the ninth try yielded the win. I was officially paddle boarding. In short, I highly recommend Chicago SUP. Great people, with chill attitudes and a perfect spot along the lake to learn. If your on the fence, just do it. I will be back as soon as the weather here lets up!!!!

Interesting experience for reasonably priced rentals. Stand up paddling is easy enough to pick up within a single lesson. If you have a waterproof camera or casing, bring it along to get a good shot of the skyscrapers.

This is a class act establishment. I went paddle boarding for the first time over Memorial Day weekend and everyone on staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and fun! I had a great time and it was a good deal.

The actual paddle boarding was awesome. However the people who worked there gave us poor directions about time and where we were allowed to go and then yelled at us about it afterward and tried to charge us for damage to the board but when we asked about the damage they couldnt give an answer to what it was. They need to work on customer service.

Had the pleasure of riding the rocketman board. This was an awesome experience, the staff was extremely nice and helpful and the ride was unbelievable. If you havent tried their offerings now is a great time. There were paddleboards, jetskis and Rocketman all in one area. It is a must do if you want to Swim like a dolphin and fly like an eagle... This place rocked, Scotty was extremely helpful and made the flight that much better! Best experience flying to date! Not to mention having the city skyline in the background while flying was pretty cool!
