I love this new find! Beautiful interior with comfortable couches, wooden tables, and antique pieces. The music ties the place together and the environment is so diverse- people are here to work, catch up over coffee/wine, or grab some food at the market.I attached a picture of the almond turmeric chai which is divine. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

First day back from break, you get a text from a friend saying, Still downtown? Lets get dinner.After reviewing a multitude of options, 2 train stops and a cool 2 block walk, you find yourself at 3 Greens; selected because youre Chicago born and bred, and since youve never tried Au Cheval, youre committing some time of treason, apparently.Walking in, I found a simple menu (6 items + salad bar), and was still faced with massive decisions, lucky for me, Hannah was there. Finding out it was my first time there, she welcomed me with open arms, deep insights, and a kind smile. She talked me through burger thickness, portion sizes, and an appropriate beverage for such a momentous occasion.She gave me a magic buzzer, and detailed instructions on how to recover my fest.After just a few moments, the buzzer buzzed wildly, and I was on my way. I sat down with a single cheeseburger, with fries, and dug in. Not that I ever doubted Hannah for a second, but this was JUST what I needed. Good char, hot fries, and a cool cola to wash it all down. About 4 bites in, I see a questioning face peeking around the bend with a shakey thumbs up. Hannah had come around to check on me and my spoils. She got a smile, with two cheeks full of burger, and just as many thumbs up.GLORIOUS.Between Hannahs hospitality, and the kitchen skills, Ill be back, and I think you should too. :-)

Fantastic spot to get some studying/ work done. I went on a Sunday and loved my experience. I had a lavender london fog (can’t find that at Starbucks!) and the atmosphere was super warm and cozy. The baristas are hipster and pretty funny. They were getting ready to close, so they started giving away free baked goods and I lucked out with a cookie the size of my head. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely come back!

My quest to relax and have coffee at all Sodikoff coffee shops continues. This is the best, with a ample space and eclectic and comfortable surroundings... and cocktails as well. This is the best coffee shop in Chicago. While all of them feature coffee they also have a restaurant attached. In this case you can have a special pastrami sandwich or an au cheval burger or a combination of the two. Possibly the largest salad bar in the area, with both cold and hot choices.Its not fine dining, but it is great

This is several steps up from pretty much any coffee shop youll ever visit. It has a cozy atmosphere, good music, relaxing vibe, but is upscale and very professional. Its like being in a high-end hotel. The food bar has a good selection and the drinks are good as well. I found out its the same owners as Donut Vault and other places I cant remember. I cant believe they dont mind that people hang out and work for a while. It seems more Gold Coast than River North, but you cant even find such a place in the Gold Coast.

Wow, what a burger! Perfect combination of cheese, double meat, tomatoes, lettuce and the buns! Great atmosphere. Prices are fair!

Pretty cool breakfast and brunch place. There are two open buffets: a hot one with eggs, egg pies, biscuits, bacon, sausage, etc. and a cold one with salads, greens, fruit, cheese, olives, etc. You can mix and match as you like. Then you weigh and pay. The price when I visited was $12 a pound. A bit pricey but we each had a pound weighing plate and was full. The hot buffet was delicious. Theres also a coffee bar/section.

Weve been coming here for years and we absolutely love it. We typically go for breakfast or brunch and their breakfast bar is the best. Organic egg scrambles, fried chicken, homemade pancakes w/ chocolate syrup - we love it all! A full salad bar is available as well if you want lighter fare. Theres a Little Cheval in there as well that serves what my daughter and I consider to be the best burgers in Chicago. Finally, a full coffee/espresso bar will take care of any caffeine urges you may have.

The coffee shop inside 3 Greens might be one of the most underrated in the city! It has a cozy yet spacious interior, a vintage-feeling aesthetic, with wood paneling, mid-century light fixtures, and plenty of plush seating to boot, and of course, good coffee. Instrumental jazz plays overhead, making for a great atmosphere to work, study, read, or socialize.

Got the burger with fries. Fantastic burger! Cooked exactly as I ordered (medium). So many places ask you how you want it, but it always ends up well done. Relaxed atmosphere with nice staff. Will come again if Im every in the area.

Just so cozy and beautiful. I am always on the hunt for a big, healthy fresh salad bar - and they totally hit the mark.A bit pricey, but to be expected in this neighborhood

Love the Small Cheval here! Everyone is always friendly and food is fantastic. We recently came and they forgot an order of fries. Once I let them know, they were super apologetic and even offered to remake our order. Highly recommended.

This market cafe is disguised as Mad Men-era library with dark, cozy gem tone seats always buzzing with networking opportunities. There are tables and ample outlets for computer work. On the other side is a cafe style quick service grab & go fresh food market.More importantly, the coffee: its quality and creative. Offerings such as a honey turmeric chai latte or military latte are features on the menu board. I always order a matcha mocha and a matching matcha brownie. It keeps me happy all week!You can enjoy cocktails, sushi, select your own salad and warm entree bars, or go classic like burgers and fries. The staff is friendly, genuine and you will surely be converted.

A pretty quick lunch spot with self serve food and a variety of options. A little expensive for what you get food wise, but in general, a great place to spend your lunch hour.

A great find while I was in town. Gets busy, but still was able to find a seat. Plenty of places to sit down. Very comfortable to be able to sit and work. Fantastic that they had a bottomless cup of coffee. Staff were friendly. Will definitely go back.

Expensive but worth it.The mean was good. The options were plenty. The place had a great ambience and I loved the music as well. I got a takeaway but will try sitting down for a meal sometime.

Pleasantly surprised and will be coming back for more lunches. I was initially not excited for a lunch/salad bar spot. Not my normal cup of tea. But then I saw they had a hot food bar as well and the selection was on point! My favorite bite was the Nashville hot chicken. Wow, this is an awesome place. I dont even frequent coffee shops but I really loved this one. Great, comfortable and open setup. Has a putting green and table tennis. Good prices, good coffee and great environment. I went here for an interview and was well suited for that or a casual meeting as well.

Spent a full day studying here. I love the atmosphere. It’s quiet enough to study yet open enough to have a conversation. Get the small cheval burger and coffee and you’re good for 8 hours of work. The only downside is that it is kinda far from the loop. But otherwise this is my favorite study spot in Chicago

Friendly and helpful staff. They make very good drinks. With chairs, couches, bar stools, and tables of different sizes, the place is perfect for studying, grabbing a quick bite, or just to chat with friends.

Really love this concept for the area. The Au Cheval burgers are my usual go-to. Hot buffet items are good but lacks variety. Its usually the same few dishes so easy to get tired of after a few times. Their outdoor seating is great especially in the summers when the live band is playing at the restaurant across the street.

This place is so fun to hang out in and work on things. The employees are ridiculously nice and inviting. The whole atmosphere is very warm and makes people want to stay for a while. I work from here often and will be back again.

Eclectic design space, coffee & cocktails, and damn good burgers. This is a great place to grab a bite and enjoy the calm, smooth jazz, environment while sipping your cappuccino. They have a salad bar and a hot foods bar priced around $10 per lb but what I really enjoyed was their cheeseburger and pastrami sandwich. This place is worth a visit especially if youre looking for a burger. Overall, the space was great but my sandwich was even better.

Neighborhood Gem! This place is extremely cute and fun! The food is all amazing. I go here at least once a week for the small cheval burger. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Its also a good place to spend the day drinking coffee and working from home. 10/10 recommend this place.

I love this place it has a worm and cozy feeling to it whether is to hang out or do some homework or office work. It also has a great self serve cold bar and self serve hot bar which I think is great everything is fresh maid daylie and they also have a small cheval that serves one of their best burgers in Chicago. Great joint if you are on the go. They have 15mn parking ! The best to get in and get out. Fresh veggies and chicken . I added double avocado with a side hot Thai salad dressing ... this is the divine goodness that dived into:)

Absolutely phenomenal atmosphere. Coffee shop kind of relaxed feel with plenty of comfy chairs and couches. I only had the cheeseburger, but definitely one of the better burgers in town. Its so close to my apartment with a kind of vibe that I feel like Ill easily become a regular

The food here is really tasty, and I love how many different options there are! Everyone working there is friendly and it’s easy to navigate. I wish there was more seating on the lunch side, I’m unsure if you can sit on the coffee shop side with food from 3 Greens. But it’s such a nice staple to have so close to Merchandise Mart!

Tempted to give it a peculiar, eccentric review...but it is a great local coffee place attached to Fab food options...mini Au Cheval and pastrami sandwich place AND a hot food and or cold food eat by the lb selection.. some of the best ever seen. They have full bottles of spirits or wines at non restaurant prices...tables outside or in the incredible air conditioning.Only down is it closes at 7pm.

This place was such a solid find on our trip to Chicago. Its part coffee shop, part buffet and part counter service. We grabbed the Au Cheval burger and some of the buffet items and all of it was absolutely amazing. The buffet was $12/lb, so not incredibly cheap, but it was incredibly good. My boyfriend is still talking about the pastrami gravy he had on his biscuits.

I was disappointed that all they had for breakfast was a buffet. Not for me. But they have a small cheval and the space is nice, so Ill give them a try for lunch some time.

Ive been going here about a year now for lunch on and off and its always been a bit pricy for the salad/hot bar, but now its just too much. I filled up their smallest box with rice and mac and cheese and it was 10 dollars. $12 a pound of food does not get you a lot there unless youre eating only leaves. Kind of bummed out since the food it pretty good for a self serve place. Probably will not be returning anymore though.

There is a AuCheval, amazing roast beef sandwich place, bar, salad bar. This place has a little of everything to satisfy all appetites! Really busy during lunch time, but if you are quick you can snag a seat.

This is our go to spot for coffee and breakfast. They brew Metropolis and make a mean Capp. All of their pastries are fantastic and they even have Donut Vault donuts if you want to avoid the line from their donut window. The buffet and Au Cheval burger are always awesome as well.The best part though is the awesome staff and ambiance of the coffee house. Great place to come work or just relax. Bonus, they play Disney movies for kids.
