My only complaint is I wish I could give them 17 stars! The owner Janet and her daughter are some of the sweetest, hard working (also very beautiful) women I have ever met. The Caribbean woman in the front is definitely a weirdo, and the Ecuadorian guy is definitely a creep, but it’s a bakery what do you expect? There is nowhere in the world that comes close to this place, Eli’s cheesecake is like dollar store cat food compared to their stuff. Everything is amazing, every time. I will not buy a cheesecake unless it’s from them. Thank you Janet, you and your daughter are dynamite ladies and make mom and pop shops are a shining example of why Chicago is so great!

Absolutely a must cake place for any Chicagoan! Today was the third time we got a cheese cake, and it was nothing short of a marvelous experience. The cake was flavorful, with a balanced taste, sweetness and the right texture for a cheese cake.So far we had the Plain, Chocolate Fudge and Pecan Caramel, each unique and amazing.

Cream cheese on top of this pumpkin cupcake is amazing. Not overly sweet and is exceptionally light.. cupcake itself is moist and well balanced flavor.Cherry and apple pie both look delicious.. will update once we tried it.

The most delicious, light and fresh cakes you can ever get!

After driving by everyday on the way home from work I decided to stop in last week and picked up two rustic tarts (peach & sour cherry) and one slice of banana cake. I thought we would have leftovers but all three were so delicious we finished them that night! Definitely would recommend! The lady who helped me inside was also very nice.

I saw this cute little shop driving by. I turned around to stop in and wasnt disappointed! I purchased a chocolate tart and a mini apple pie and both are delicious! Would definitely visit again.

I popped into this shop on Friday afternoon and had such a great experience. The ladies working that afternoon were friendly and helpful! I ordered a chocolate cake, a couple of slices of carrot cake, and some Halloween blondies. Yum! They were all delicious, but the chocolate cake was THE BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE I’ve ever eaten. My partner and I devoured the cake. I’m counting down the days until our next celebration. Can’t wait to go back!

This is my favorite bakery in town. Their sourdough is the best Ive eaten in Houston, and the different variations of croissant are all fantastic, especially the kit kat one on Saturdays!

Love their products. Called about a couple of their products was very helpful. This place is the real deal their products are high end and taste awesome . Being all natural serves as a plus highly recommend. Ordered key lime cheese cake and red velvet cake. Family loved both. Keep up the awesome work .

OK -- Im bias. My mom opened JR Dessert Bakery more than 35 years ago. She started with my aunts and grandma working with her in the kitchen. Decades later, there are nearly 20 employees and I too am now involved. We are a full line dessert bakery that only uses high quality and all-natural ingredients. Great cheesecake

Best cheesecake and tiramisu I’ve ever had, and I live for sweets. From the outside you might not even notice this place, it’s very low key and easy to miss, but you’ll regret it if you go anywhere else! I don’t think I’ll ever buy dessert from any place else.

My daughters boyfriend brought desert for dinner. It was the raspberry cheesecake, and let me tell you, I am very picky when it comes to cheesecake. This cheesecake was amazing! It was delicious! Cant wait to go get another one. So far, its the best cheesecake Ive tried. Congratulations.

I had the chance to meet Natali and she is an excellent person. I tried the plain cheesecake, dipped in chocolate, and frozen on a stick and it was amazing. I would totally recommend this place.

Their pastry is gourmet quality and extremely inexpensive too. I like supporting smaller businesses in my community especially when the quality is top notch.
