Okay I love a trendy taco option on the menu so when I saw BBQ duck tacos with pear pico I had to try it. Oh my gosh, it was delicious! I always have high expectations for fusion restaurants, and I was impressed by Chant! Even the decor inside keeps you guessing as to what kind of food youre going to experience but trust me its a great one! Also staff was incredibly friendly and super quick service as well.

First they charge an 18% service fee. I loved the tempura fried green tomatoes-- it had a crispy coating with the tang of the green tomatoes maintained. The duck burger was interesting-- the duck was a bit gamey, but I disliked the overwhelming pepper taste. With a bit less pepper, I think I would have enjoyed it. The fries are real potatoes with garlic and some cilantro. The orange chicken rice bowl was very sweet (?Mandarin orange pieces). Overall very unique experience

Great cocktails to relax you after a long work day. The food was seasoned nicely and was a decent serving amount. Nice Hyde Park spot.

Went for lunch. Good food prepared very well. Service was very good as well. Fairly busy amd it seemed like Juan was taking care of the entire dining room and training and was still on the ball. Recommended all around.

This was a nice little restaurant in Hyde Park. It had a nice arrangement to sit outside and the service was good. I got the chicken stir fry and it was adequate. I would say that the food is not the best thing about the restaurant. It is worth checking out if you are in the area.

Simply delicious! Yes, thats how Im starting this review. I enjoyed lunch here on a Sunday afternoon after attending church. Its usually packed, so I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get a table. I was able to social distance as well, which made indoor dining less stressful, but they have patio seating, too. Ive tried to dine in before on a Sunday afternoon and it was a 45 minute wait! Its beautifully decorated and cozy inside. The wait staff and my server were on point! As soon as I sat down I had water and menus. My server came over promptly and she was attentive during my entire visit. I ordered the Shrimp Rolls and the Sambal Catfish Mac and Cheese and both were amazing! Portions are fairly large, so be prepared to take some to go. Its now one of my faves and Ill definitely return.

First time visiting Chant. Friendly service, delicious cocktails. Had the Pina Colada Martini, the husband had a Cucumber Martini. My dish, the BBQ Duck Tacos was delicious. Husband had chicken and shrimp fried rice, which he gave a thumbs up. Will be back.

The atmosphere is good. The attention is a bit poor. They do not seem to be prepared to serve so many people at the same time. Food? I do not recommend the calamari. Pad thai was good. Id like to try other dishes. A bit expensive considering the service and the quality.

Food is very good, but they need to pay attention to the dishware. Upon inspection, I had to ask for another set of utensils, then the plate was not clear of dishwasher residue. That was a spoiler for me. Hadnt been in a while since pandemic, so the last dining experience was great, but this time wasnt as pleasant. Service was just Okay!

Do Not spend your money at this place. The Manager that goes by the name Aldo has no respect for you. You are just a dollar sign and thats it. The bar tender lied and said he wasnt serving drinks, but then I observed him still serving drinks. (I hadnt had a drink and was only ordering one while waiting on my food) Aldo poorly handle my complaint about his bartender by first saying I had to order from a location across from the bar, (really?) then lying again and saying that the bartender was hard of hearing. Not only that, I didnt receive half of my order.After returning a few days later to get the other half of my order, I had to remind Aldo about why I was there. Once he remembered they placed my order. I asked him about the events that evening and Aldo said, Dont question me. Ask yourself people, do you as a customer have the right to question the Manager? The answer is absolutely! Ask yourself, do you want to buy from an establishment that would treat any customer like that? Aldo was disrespectful because he is the only manager there and if you ask to speak with the person over him he will tell you there is no one. So you see why him and his bartender feel like they can be inappropriate with you and be sharp with their tongues. I promptly asked for a refund and will never return. If you read the other reviews, there are a lot of people that say the service is horrible.

The food came out waaay too quick which means that most items are precooked (no no). The mac and cheese had a very thin consistency which should never be. Definitely not a first choice for me in the future.

Do not get the duck burger, because you wont find the any duck. It tasted more like a falafel burger with some gamey smell and housing sauce. A duck burger should have a piece of duck meat, other name it duck scented burger. The lobster Mac and cheese was OK, nothing special. However I have to admit the service was good, so were the crab cakes and California rolls.

Best Pear martinis ever!!!! And their short rib dinner is to die for and so are the turkey basil rolls! Plus so many other items its hard to name them all. The staff and management are wonderful too!!!

Love this place, kind of low-key eaterie in Hyde park. Very charming ambiance, nice for a cute date night or brunch with friends. Food came out shockingly fast but hot and fresh. Street Parking leaves something to be desired, but thats basically anywhere in HP. Minus one star for 18% service fee added regardless of party size. Not the most wallet friendly eaterie, meal for 2 was $90. All in all a good experience if you can find/pay for parking and dont mind the bill.

Stopped in to try the Shrimp and Grits but the dish was way too salty. I got a few more items that were decent. The catfish curry dish needed more curry flavor. I had some avocado rolls that were delicious. The waiter was really nice.

Ive dined here in the past however Ive not explored their entire menu, and every time I try something new Im always equally impressed. Food is always excellent, staff is attentative and atmosphere pleasant. Very recommendable.

As a loyal customer of Chant for over 10 years I am writing this review to express my disappointment in the customer service I received from manager Aldo Rojas on Sunday, July 11 2021. I had a issue with my online order. I asked the cashier if I could speak to the manager Aldo Rojas. When I started to explain the issue with my food order. He walked away. I waited for him to return to the cashier area where I was standing to address my concern but instead he told me he was busy and did not have time to talk to me. And even went on to say cant you see Im busy. He was disrespectful and he showed Chant did not value my business. This will be the last time I spend my money at Chant.

This is a great place to eat. No reservations. First come first serve. The food is great and the service is really good. Its a cozy intimate place to bring a date.

The attitude of the manager/host or whoever he was was unbelievably rude. We walked in the restaurant at 8:00pm, we were told it would be a 45 min -1 hour wait. We said ok, our our name down. He then grabs tablet and say, if we do not receive a text by 8:45, that means we are closed. Excuse me.. so we would have to wait 45 min anticipating to eat. If you cannot guarantee a table our table after waiting 45 min what is the point in waiting. But I know what the problem was, they wanted to close on time. If they seated us at 8:45, that means they would be there over closing time. He verbalized that we do not have to wait or eat here. Very bad customer service.

Chant is everything!! The drinks the food the service....I absolutely love this place. I had the Curry Fried Fish and Fried green tomatoes (appetizer) and it was delicious!! The Chant Paloma, Patronitini,Patronizing, Pear Martini are excellent!!

Two flies over the table and food all the time. The grilled lamp was burned with a strong bitter taste and the mashed potatoes were over salted! The spinach and tofu dish, that the rices were too salty and the spinach were very astringent! Terrible dinning experience and better avoid going there!

The food is delicious and is cooked right in front of you. Overall, it was a bit pricey, but the food and service were good.

Came on a Saturday night with a friend. The Raspberry martini was so delicious, I had 2. The Fried Korean BBQ Duck was do delicious that I think that even folks who have never tried duck or usually dont order it, would become fans of duck with this dish...DELISH!!!

First time here and it was great experience for me. Enjoyed the great food selections and the Jazz band was a cool addition to an already cool setting. The service was spot on as well as the wait staff. I was greeted at the door with a smile and a warm welcome. I didnt come to eat but sit in with the jazz band. However, I did order some avocado quesadillas and they were excellent. I will be back in the near future to try out the other food options available.

I went here on a Saturday night, had dinner, and then later that evening, they move the tables out of the way for live a DJ or a band. It was a lot of fun to experience eating and the opportunity to listen to music. Everyone was dressed up for a night out which made it even more fun. The food is considered a fusion of traditional and contemporary Asian. Good food, not my favorite Pad Thai (Im pretty picky on this) but it is gluten free! Plenty of choices on food, so I would say, its worth a try.

Unfortunately, Chant Restaurant is not operating to full food capacity due to the Pandemic. However, the food I did order was awful. ( processed and microwaved chicken wings drowned in barbecue sauce. Boxed macaroni and cheese served with fishy fried fish}. My lunch was a huge disappointment. The previously gourmet food to order is no longer. Its my hopes that the menu and the chef returns. Until then, I will not be returning.

This restaurant has very good food and a nice setting. Though, keep in mind that it can be a little crowded on the weekends. The salmon that I ordered was well prepared, with the asparagus and the rice both being quite flavorful. The chef did a great job of matching the cooked level of the fish to my request, which was medium well. The wine that I ordered was also quite pleasant, with a rather smooth taste. I would definitely recommend this establishment, and I will visit again.

Had dinner there Friday evening! I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken. Worst pad thai Ive ever had. Noodles were tough and the whole dish was not right at all. The cocktails were ok, too much ice not enough alchohol for the prices. Calamari appetizer was ok, sauce wasnt great. Ill go again but no Pad Thai.

They either need more staff or efficient staff because when it is packed the wait time is dreadful, however the food is delicious, the drinks are tasty and strong. The short ribs melt in your mouth and the catfish with Mac and cheese is a HIT.

I ordered chant shrimp to go. The menu post that it should come with aoli but it was not with my order. And the sweet and sour sauce I was given had a wet dog taste.

This is good place to go for couples or anyone. Good food and drinks too! Nice decor! Theres seating with a large window view and booths or tables to cozy up!

Interesting fusion food with a variety of vegetarian choices along with regular proteins.

Ive been there twice and both time had one of the small plate options (firecracker chicken and drunken noodles w/chicken). Small plates but enough to get you full or to take some home. The fries are good as well. Its a small restaurant. We were a party of ten and they were able to seat us by the window comfortably. We had good service as well. Dont get too loud though,we were asked to keep it down. I will definitely go back.

When you walk into a spot and the server meets you at your table already with water- expect exceptional service. This unique spot has a great Ambience. The amazing playlist definitely help accentuate the feel good vibes this place has to offer. My experience was nothing short of amazing!!!!I ordered the Infamous Lycheetini and the fire cracker chicken. So delicious!!Decent prices

I come for the drinks.... #martinigirl I had a peach coso which was delicious. My first choice of a pear coso had to be sent back..not so delicious. I had the vegetarian stir fry with vegetables and linguine. Very good and flavorful. Cooked in a good sauce. My waitor was awesome.

He had us waiting for a table to open and 2 opened amd he said he had other people, where? No one came in and after 20 min still no one came and we were still waiting to get a table. This used to be one of my favorite place to eat. I believe that they recently hired a new manager and now the atmosphere is very petty and unpleasant. They just lost an extremely loyal customer for not choosing their battles wisely.

Wait staff were sneaky, management was unattentive. Greeter didnt acknowledge me and my group of 11 people. Will not return. Food was OK. Today was my birthday.

Today We went into this establishment to buy lunch. We sat there unattended for almost 10 minutes. Finally a waiter came over apologizing stating that hes the only one working today and that he will get to us as soon as possible. Meanwhile an Asian woman was walking around the bar doing nothing. When we got up and left they said nothing as if they were not even concerned that we had left I will never go to this establishment again horrible service..

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, and good food. Very qaint place in Hyde Park. Asia Fusion with modern look. Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian dish available. The drinks are good. I had the cashew chicken, sauteed spinach, and curried shrimp. Very delicious. I got full very quickly. My date was very particular about her Thai and she swears this is one of the best in the area. They dont accept phone order any more due to fraud (competition calling and pranksters) which is a shame but they still do GrubHub. I recommend it.

No matter what I order from here Im always impressed! Fresh food & great portions, Im in love with the Udon Noodles & Turkey Basil Rolls. You also cant go wrong with the chicken sandwich or chicken entree, & the Fried Rice is my favorite over anywhere else!
