Wow wow, wow, wow. Spent waaayyyyy too much money here but our granddaughter was walking on the clouds cruising through here. Super friendly staff, from the lady that looked for Julies rabbit in the back, to the stylist that did our granddaughters nails to the stylist that did Maryellens hair, all were sweet and professional. Had lunch in the cage and the food was top notch as well. Traveled from Virginia Beach to visit family in Chicago and made some great memories there. Well be back.

Pro tip: If you want to save money dont bring your girls here, theres so much to see and do.😄Did you know they have ice cream shops, books shops, hair salon for your dolls and your girls, restaurants? (closed due to COVID). Well, I didnt 🤦🏻‍♂️I didnt know there are so many ways to have fun with your daughters and ways to spend money.

Visited American Girl for my daughters third birthday, it was her first time there and she loved it. We had lunch and then picked her doll and accessories. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Wow! We loved seeing for ourselves the 2 story store filled with dolls and accessories for the dolls. They had everything you could imagine. They have a hair salon for girls and dolls, a restaurant, a pet store for the dolls, a small bakery area, and a place to get your ears pierced with your doll. It is 2 storys with escalators and elevators. It is located on the first floor of the water tower place and the 2nd story. So cool to experience.

This is the store to come to when you just want to pamper your daughter and see her smile from ear to ear with excitement. Please come prepared its best to just stay overnight. The restaurant, salon, muffin shop its a girls dream store. Plenty to choose from.

Great store, didnt have many sales that I saw. Also didnt validate parking (we were there for about 80 minutes shopping and a bathroom break, and it was $30 in the attached ramp; probably would have been cheaper to pay for shipping). Also was out of stock of the Diwali outfit my daughter really wanted.

Sweet store! The staff treated my daughter like a queen and made her feel very special. The ladies in the salon are so gracious and warm. We’re grateful for such a lovely experience.

The feeling is very confusing so while the place is amazing and every little girl dream ( I have a 8 year older daugther ) I believe it’s also a trap for the parents . Imagine walking into a place to buy a doll and needing up spending close to $300 !!!!!! . They have spa salon for the dolls, yes spa with services from hair services to mask . Imagine paying for a mask for a doll !!!!!!! My daugther had a great time but I’m on the other hand was just confused between the joy for my daugther and pain for my wallet .

It was an enlightening visit with my dearest friend whose knowledge of art is incredible. She educated me on so many eras and artistic styles. I definitely want to visit again especially since she is a member and I can visit on several occasions. Excellent place.

Weve been here 3 times and it just gets better. There are so many dolls and sets to look at and play with. The people who work here are very friendly, helpful, and competent. We love eating at the cafe. My daughter adores getting matching hair styles with her doll.

It is huge with two stories. They have a doll hospital, doll salon, and ear piercing salon. They have every American doll you can think of. We went there for a birthday luncheon and it was pleasant. Your view is of a very pretty part of Chicago with its unique architecture. There is close by parking.

Little (and big) girl heaven. I was overwhelmed as an adult how amazing the store is. Every doll scenario you can imagine. Have your girl bring her own doll and she can get a (free) check up at the doll hospital, have her interact with some of the displays (like the cafe). My 8 year old looked forward to her first trip to the store for months which we did on her actual birthday and it did not disappoint. Everything is quite expensive so be prepared to drop some $$ or try to set expectations before you enter.

The cashier did not check out two items that were in our bag. She almost forgot to put the book that comes with a new American girl doll in our bag. She is clueless! We came from Detroit and have no time tomorrow to get the items that she failed to ring up. I went online and can’t find this yellow coat! Missing pink nail polish. I’m sure this is all in camera. My daughter is very upset because we didn’t 2 hrs shopping and made her pick and choose stuff she really liked.

Really expensive and overpriced.However, we did the birthday meal and our server was great and the food was very tasty.We had a great time

It was so heartwarming to see this store so full. But mostly to see all the empowered little girls carrying around their favorite dolls. Went there to get an outfit for my niece and was not disappointed.

Came from out of state for our youngest daughters birthday. Made brunch and doll salon reservations. Our daughters were starry-eyed and excited as soon as we walked in the doors. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They sang happy birthday to her at brunch, the girls got little cups and plates for their dolls to take home, as well as hair ties, and the food was cute and tasty. At the doll salon she picked a hairstyle and colored extensions for her Wellie Wisher doll, and doll got her ears pierced. They were sad to leave!

I bought an American girl doll for my granddaughter’s eighth birthdayI accidentally bought two of the same outfits but was assured that I could return it at the Chicago store when I visited from Florida. When I got there I was looking forward to a fun day with my granddaughter. When I tried to return the outfit, they said they had no record of it, and that I would have to mail it back. It kind of put a damper on a wonderful dayIt also cost me almost $10 to mail a $35 purchaseI expected more a the store Of this caliber

This is such a wonderful place. My daughter wanted to celebrate her 18th birthday here and have dessert in the cafe. We were not disappointed! We were treated like royalty, as were our girls. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, and the chocolate cake was out of this world!!!

What you would expect, busy place for girls to run. Food it just okay, hair salon is the best - especially Hazel - she’s great with kids! Ear piercing just ok, could have had better customer service but they did a fine job. Great place to spend a birthday for kids, as expected.

They do not have an accurate variety of ethnic dolls like they do for caucasians. Black girls come in more colors and have different textures of hair. I wish they would add a few more skin tones, hair textures/styles and facial feature options. The store itself is nice though.

It was my first time here and I loved it. You can customize dolls according to your needs. There is many options to choose from. There is a cafe in the second floor.

I dont have children that are young enough for an American girl doll but this store was out of this world. 2 floors of wall to wall dolls and accessories. Would definitely go again

This place is simply amazing! Plan to spend a pretty penny if you love AG! We had a budget and my daughter got her ears pierced along with her doll and we kept the price under $50! The staff was so informative and friendly! I can’t say enough what a great experience this truly was for all of our whole family! Truly exciting and can’t say enough! Way to go Chicago AG! Very accessible. Elevators as well as escalators. I would suggest being with a family member so you can experience the whole place. Not many accessibility features like video dialogue. My mother took me to American girl when I was a child and bought me the dolls and gave me all the little experiences that it had to offer I was very pleased the other week to bring my own daughter for her birthday buy her a doll and give her all those wonderful feminine experiences that she should be experiencing at this age I hope that you remembers it forever and one day brings her daughter. *Side note* I was very pleased to find that they now have boy dolls for the young men that do come to the American girl store to shop with their sisters it was just nice to see that there was an option for the other gender as well.

This store is like heaven for my little daughter, every time we go to Chicago she insists that we come here. Nice open layout to the store so you can easily look around even when its busy and friendly employees. They have a few areas under construction (2019) so it should be even better soon. It would be nice if they would add an interactive area where the kids could spend a little more time.

We always bring our girls to get their first doll for their 5th birthdays. We are the proud owners of Rebecca and Samantha for our older girls. Our fresh 5 year old picked Mary Ellen! I absolutely love the displays they have for each girl! Its so much fun to walk through the store. We got lucky and hit a good book sale. For only a dollar each, we got the books for every girl!! Easily saved over $100 on books alone!!

It’s been a few years since I’ve played with dolls but my wife still convinced me to go in with her. I have to admit, this place is pretty interesting for a doll store. With dolls, clothes, accessories and a hospital, they have everything most little girls dream of. A pretty easy way to spend a couple hundred bucks.

This is a nice American Girl Doll store. I went here while I was in Chicago and was satisfied with my experience. I walked into this store and looked around at everything for sale. This store is two stories tall and has many dolls for sale. There are historical dolls, look alike dolls, general American Girl merchandise such as books and items dolls can use, a cafe, doll hospital, and doll salon in this store. The store is large, spacious, and has nice carpeting. After I looked around I left without buying anything because everything here is stupidly overpriced, just like at every other American Girl Doll store. I gave this American Girl Doll store five stars because it a lot of things inside and it’s conveniently located in downtown Chicago.

I took my daughter to the American Girl Doll Store for her golden birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch with dessert on the upper level. The service was amazing, her doll received her very own chair attached to the table and a place setting as well. We had a veggie and hummus plate appetizer, I had the burger (amazing) and my daughter enjoyed the picnic lunch which included a mini burger and mini hotdog with fries and veggies in the side. She also received a chocolate mousse with a flower and candle for dessert.After lunch we checked out the salon where the girls and their dolls can get their hair, makeup and nails done as well as their ears pierced together! The rest of the store, which is part of the upper level as well offers anything you could want as far as American girl Truly Me dolls and accessories go.The first floor has a different section for each doll from over the years and the section is themed for each of them. It’s super cute! They also have a doctors office too!I would highly recommend the American Girl Doll store to any doll loving girl! Our trip made my daughters day!

This place is the dream of the little girl inside of my heart. It is so magical and amazing! Tiny furniture, instruments, sports equipment, everything! They have boy dolls, bald dolls, all sorts of dolls! I love it just as much as when I was eight years old and coming here for the first time.

STORE - if stuff are maintained, I like that it’s set up for a children’s play ground, and photo op. CAFE - hit and miss with hyped ordinary ingredients. Love the loaner doll, table games, freebie pink bow hair tie and doll mug and saucer. Great CHARGING STATION on 2nd Floor, before Cafe.

Purchased daughters very first American Girl Doll, there are so many things to choose from and so much for her and her new baby to do together in future, i.e. Hair Salon, Nail Spa, restaurant.

Personally I did not enjoy this place, mainly because it smacks of materialism & consumerism. Having said that, I know little people who loved what they saw in the photos I took! I like that the dolls have names that might resemble something from the state they come from e.g. Melodie comes from Detroit, Michigan.

I never got to visit an American Girl store as a kid but during my last visit as an adult I was VERY impressed. It offered everything I’d heard about as a kid and a lot more. This particular location was absolutely huge. It seemed like they stocked everything the company sells. This would be an amazing place to take a family trip to or mother and daughter day. There’s shopping, beauty treatments, and food. I would definitely revisit, really was an amazing place for girls.

It was a busy saturday and we made an appointment for my niece to have her hair and (her dolls hair) done together. The attitude of the staff towards the girls was amazing, they werent very good at keeping time though. Our appointment ran over and they were overwhelmed by patrons, maybe they need more staff? We followed it up with a tea that was for sure kid friendly, but maybe a bit small for adult appetites. The girls had an amazing time, and the design was flawless- not a detail missed.
