We showed up at 9:30am and we were impressed that they still had a good selection. The line was long and steady the entire time we were there, but they made quick work! The vanilla sprinkle were definitely our favorite donut. I wasn’t too impressed from the carrot cake or chocolate old fashioned. But hands down the winner was the mango smoothie. SO good. Definitely a revisit type place!
05/16/21: Great experience at Stan’s Donuts. Amazing selection of fresh donuts that I got way too many. I ordered a dozen donuts, but wanted to get each one in the display. The line was out the door that morning with about 20ish people in line. Staff was friendly and attentive. I also ordered a breakfast combo with a bacon, egg, cheese sandwich, hash browns, and iced coffee. Everything was great and I don’t know if I have a favorite. Thanks!
There is pretty much always a line for a reason! The doughnuts are at the highest quality as well as the coffee. The pretzel breakfast sandwich is a must. Very upscale boutique feel in the shop. Hard to decide which doughnuts to pick! I took home a dozen! Do not forget to try the chocolate chip cookies. This place is unforgettable.
Good donuts, young workers. There is nothing worst than making home and passing out our sweet score to find a item missing. Now, I have to travel back with a child that felt cheated as she observed her siblings consume the sweet goodness. They did fixed their error but you never can replace the time nor experience.
Love this place. I live in Ohio now, but make sure to stop here every them I visit. They make a great and delicious selection of both traditional and specialty flavors. Stans are the best doughnuts I have ever had. Ever! Im also not a coffee drinker, but do enjoy their brew. Staff is quick and friendly.
The rudest staff I have ever encountered. Rude when I picked my food up and luckily checked my order. They didn’t have egg bites so instead of telling me just put 2 sandwiches in my bag - can’t eat gluten. Then didn’t put oatmeal in my bag. Incredibly rude when I told them the mistake and guy says, “I didn’t do it.” FYI here’s the oatmeal serving when you order.
Love this place! Best donuts and the milk shakes are to die for. They also have a fabulous green ice tea. The best part are the employees. Jennifer is the greatest!
Great local donut shop and coffee. Friendliest staff. Recommend the peanut butter and jelly chocolate covered donut.
Well these donuts are incredible! Right on the corner in a busy section of town, there is plenty of seating, free WiFi and plenty of space to bring a group that’s a little larger than normal. They offer coffee, sandwiches and of course - donuts of just about every kind. Their cream filled velvet cake donuts looked incredible.
Donuts and coffee were great. But they were out of my favorite cold brew and the dining area was a bit of a mess. Still recommended!
Sublime donut shop in the middle of Chicago. Have a variety of donuts, including regular, specialty (including most seasonal variants), and Dough Boys Best donuts, as well as a mix of coffees. Wonderfully decorated donut shop, with its pink upholstery and wooden floors, it was a great experience. I got the Irish Cream Bismark donut, a superb choice with fresh dough and tons of vanilla filling. Chocolate on top was also a plus, with a little green topping for St. Paddys Day.
Large variety of tasty donuts. The stud was very fun and friendly as well. There was a long line when we got there but it moved rather quickly.
Being from Chicago and having friends visiting from South America and taking them here for a quick coffee was such a disappointment. It was 7:45pm and as soon as we opened The door the girl behind the counter YELLED “WE CLOSE AT 8pm” . I understand that, but there are ways to talk to PAYING customers. We were a group of 7! And her face so annoyed while we ordered the coffees. I couldn’t contain and say “if your so annoyed just tell your co worker to help us” (the other co worker who was whispering - talking about us and laughing with her) also YELLING WHAT COFFEES WE WANT. It’s sad that after that I will never go back or my friends, or family. I picked up the coffees and she again told me “WE CLOSE AT 8pm” I replied to her “I know you have told me 20 times” Train your staff so they can understand about customer service. The cost of losing one customer abs the chain after that. I won’t go back and I will tell people about it and they won’t go back. WE ARE BACK TO NORMAL FROM COVID. It is a privilege to have a job and to have a business back. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE.
Very standard donut place - think like a Chicago version of Starbucks. Very ok if youre in the area and need an early morning pick-me-up but wouldnt likely go out of the way for it. Also theres a nice small box with an extra set of donuts sometimes or you can pickup coffee in a refillable growler which is quite nice. This place is pretty easy to walk down to, order, and get out quick is another benefit.
I have never experienced someone so rude, a young Asian lady name starts with “m”, megan? Meg? Regardless me and my girlfriend have never been tested in such a way. We would like to speak to management, she should not keep her position.
Friendly staff & clean. Lots of the yummy donuts were sold out but they did have a good variety to choose. Then again it was 2:00 p.m.!
A west coast eatery brand brought to the greatest City of the Midwest. Meets expectations.
A great location with friendly a.staff.This location always has a good selection to choose from.
Enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Went there twice during our overnight stay. Cookies and beignets are delicious! Brought some home. Had to hide it in my suitcase else my kids would have devoured it 😁 Staff was super friendly. Very busy both times we were there (mid-afternoon Thursday and Friday mid-morning). As soon as someone leaves, someone else grabs the tables. No outdoor seating. Patrons were wearing masks; difficult to social distance because of number of people. Restrooms in the store; had lines to use it. Street parking available but youll need to have find patience to find a spot. Not sure where the garages are located. Am still thinking of those cookies!
A young lady by the name of Meg was literally the worst customer experience I’ve ever Received. She needs to be retrained or fired.
I had a lemon filled donut with cappuccino topping and it was absolutely perfect. Nice patio area to people watch. Cute restrooms, too.
Straight Up Amazing So A Great Place to chill at before work, or hangout I like it better than Starbucks Follow me Itsghostvenom Rapper and Poet
My glutenless donut was delicious. The other two donuts my boyfriend had, he loved. Coffee was decent. The staff member who took our order was honestly quite rude in the way he spoke, in both word choice and tone, and that was unpleasant, but the other staff seemed nice.
Pretty interior, a very wide variety of fun donut offerings, and the line moved *very* quickly- I was pleasantly surprised! This was some of the best coffee Ive ever had.
Love Stans! Great doubts, amazing variety. Delicious lattes.
Donuts taste like sugar only so don’t bother ordering anything but plain. Went to Rush St location. Restroom looked like it has never been cleaned
A unique Chicago place to buy a donut. Locally well know place to eat.
Everything was good however not to fond of there Frappuccino
It was pretty busy but for a good reason!! So yummy and so cute!!
Chill atmosphere and cute decor, nice place to enjoy some quality donuts and coffee. Came with friends and managed to get a seat, it’s busy. The glazed pretzel was nice.
Flourless donut was tasty, and reminded me of a cake donut. Had the egg sandwich and it was good to hold is over for our trip around town. Lots of donut flavor options.
Only visited a couple times. First for the donuts ... delicious ... duh. Second had a taste for a bagel and they had an everything bagel. SO much better than those fake bagels at Duncan Donuts.
A hell of a line to get service, the food was good though. If you want a dozen of their signature doughnuts, you are looking at $40 for just those though.
I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but this place deserves it. I ordered two sandwiches and they made the first one wrong and forgot the 2nd one. When I went to ask about the 2nd sandwich, staff was extremely rude and argued with me. The bathroom of this place was also disgusting. Choose another location
Yummy donuts, good coffee... an very nice, quick servers. Ill probably come here a few more times before I leave chicago :)
These donuts are ok - they are slightly denser than I like and best eaten fresh. The varieties are cool and make you want to try them all, and the staff were nice.
Amazing service, friendly staff, enjoyable environment :)
Unique awesome pastries, with great service, and savory Chai lattes mmm good!
Stans donuts are amazing.. when they’re available. How are you out of 90% of your donuts at noon on a Sunday and you don’t close until 8pm? If it’s past 10am, you’re better off going to Firecakes.
The food was good, but was completely overshadowed by the horrible attitude of one specific staff, Charlie, who was extremely rude; complaining that too many customers were coming in, gave an attitude to every order, dropped the few remaining donuts they had, and was extremely unpleasant. It was painfully obvious that he had an unpleasant day and was ready to go home. While it is understandable that he may have had a bad day, his attitude left a very negative impression of the business. The donuts were sweet, but Charlie left a bitter taste in the mouth.
I was standing next to Stans 10min before they opened hoping for a good reason why I shouldnt go to Duncan which is closer to home. I decided on Stans for the sake of something different. The doughnuts looked beautiful with interesting flavor combinations. I was actually getting kinda excited to have an incredibly fattening breakfast with practically no nutritional value. I got two pockets (translation : a filled doughnut) 1= a chocolate marshmallow pocket 2= a chocolate pocket filled with Nutella (for nutritional value😈), and a classic pistachio doughnut. The service was kinda... meh! But I overlooked that with anticipation of the goodies I was about to have...Anyway the doughnuts were beautiful and the flavor combos were interesting but they werent exactly the freshest doughnuts Ive had...🤨The Nutella pocket I didnt really taste much nutella in it (didnt see any either). I thought I was eating the marshmallow by mistake until I tasted the other pocket that was clearly marshmallow. The pistachio was ok. I only got three bites because it broke and fell on the ground after my first bite. Not sure that was Stans fault....But fresh doughnuts dont usually crumble to the ground after one bite...or do they?🤔So for me the experience was ...meh! Perhaps it was too early for doughnuts...The doughnuts were beautiful! But at $18 for 3 doughnuts and a latte to me that calls for more Nutella, fresher doughnuts, and a thanks from the staff.
Good donuts, but nothing spectacular about them. Definitely a little over hyped
Amazing donuts! Coffee was pretty average, but still quite satisfying. Many different flavors of specialty donuts to choose from.
Decent doughnuts but nothing special. Low quality breakfast sandwich. Poor service.
The coffee was bad, milky and sugary. The donuts are good, if you are into sweet stuff. Then again who is not into that. Some of us actually.
Went in to order one of their donuts to follow up on a recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised to find they stock LaColombe draft lattes. Having gone to school in philly, this stuff used to course through my veins. The glazed pistachio donut was also everything you could ask for in a donut, but its mild nutty undertones would have paired better with something sharper like pure black coldbrew. That ones on me though
Rush St location. Biscoff doughnut was tasty but glazed was stale and not very good. Nitro coffee was half foam and almost all ice. Cashier was curt and just short of rude. Definitely not recommend this place. Better food and service elsewhere.Update: Shop was quick to reply and offer contact info for further discussion. Employee was probably having a bad day but that does not explain the food quality.
Hit chocolate was awesome.
Had a great breakfast stop this morning.
Some people would walk in and get stuff for free, weird
Tough to just walk by and not to stop in for good coffee and amazing treats
OMG, the best gluten free chocolate doughnut ever❣️ I recommend pairing it with the Bourbon Barrel cold Brew, no cream. Amazing snack with no calories because they arent posted🤣
Interior is modern and kept clean. I ordered a glazed donut and was very impressed. Very similar in taste to the Krispy Kreme. The differences are that Stans donut is slightly thicker, but void of that melt in your mouth quality beloved of Krispy Kreme. It was still a great donut but not at the legendary quality of Krispy Kreme. I was more disappointed of my hot chocolate as it was powder based and not really tasty. Staff was nice and the service was prompt.
1st time here, I tried the lemon pistachio old fashion glazed donut & loved it!!!
Horrible and so disappointing -- oatmeal was quaker oatmeal from a bag like at a hotel with a tiny cup of water in a to go container. Do not pay to get oatmeal -- one of the main items on menu. I rarely leave reviews but this was ridiculous!
Pretty good doughnut
Great donuts!!! A little pricey but well worth it! Good location in Chicagos downtown
Great place for a doughnut
Nice staff, clean facility
There donuts is very good and nice quality of different variety of donuts they provide! Third or 4th time visiting there, the price for the quality of donuts are worth it.
Vegan cinnamon sugar donut. The goat.
Great breakfast sandwiches and good service. A large selection of food.
Stans has really good gluten free-vegan options available. And great coffee
Excellent Old Fashioned style donut! The coffee is very good too!
I just flew in to Chicago 1st time after 4 years& decided to go into Stans donuts after some good reviews. I will however not return again the I told the cashier it was my first. Time in could care less she was short & rude In a time like this you would think customer service would be great!
The cashier was so nice...love this place
