My first experience working with Fox Lighting was excellent. As a designer I brought my clients here to select an assortment of lights for their first floor. Robyn had great knowledge on the product they carry and help guide us through our selection. We left happy and informed. While I did need additional information, Robyn was responsive and available by both email and phone. Active is great. The staff is very knowledgeable. Javier has helped me out many times. Highly reccomend. They dont carry cheap junk, either. You pay more, but you get higher quality fixtures and components. If you want a fan that doesnt whine and hum out of the box, or a fixture that isnt so cheaply made it starts rusting after only a few months, then this is the place. I stopped bothering with the menards cheapo special after having repeated issues. I get my stuff from here now.

It’s no wonder that the reviews for this small local business are so good. They continue to earn every star based on the quality and variety of fixtures they carry, as well as reasonable pricing. Most importantly, their customer service is unparalleled.We first went to them 5 years ago on a referral from our builder. At the time, I had no idea what I was doing picking out fixtures for every room but I was thrilled with the end result after a great deal of help from our sales person. Thank goodness I did not buy online and instead went to this store. They had so much to see in the show room. And even more in the catalogs that they helped me navigate from the many manufacturers they carry. I was so happy that when we decided to build again after growing out of our previous home, there was no question about where I wanted to take our business.Kevin was fantastic and made sure that we had every bulb to go with every light. Prices were matched, a huge delivery was made and when one lighting manufacturer missed a tiny finial for a sconce, he made sure to get it to us without delay. I cannot speak of Fox lighting highly enough. Always happy to support a local business, especially this one!

I go there all the time for electrical parts and supplies. The have a good selection of Chicago EXIT signs and batteries for them. I bought several 2X2 led fixtures for drop ceilings (florescent replacements) at prices and quality better than Home Depot. They have professional staff and lots of high quality light fixtures. AND FREE PARKING. A great place to do business.

We ordered a ceiling fan from Fox Lighting. The fan didn’t function properly and Fox Lighting helped us get a replacement fan. When the replacement fan was also faulty, Fox Lighting sent it to the dealer to get it fixed and then personally sent an electrician to install the fan to insure that it was functioning properly. We went back and forth trying to solve the frustrating yet very rare circumstance of having two faulty fans that both had to be installed and uninstalled, but Fox prioritized customer service and we were able to get the job done. Now I have a great fan that works.

I have been going to Active Electric for years and have purchased many lovely things. I saw a light I liked and after having paid found out it had been discontinued. They called and said I could have the floor model. They were going to take off 20$. Not much for a floor model discount. When I went to pick it up I wasnt sure and wanted to look at it again. You would not believe the involved talk I got about the trouble they would have to go through to let me see it again. It was ridiculous. Yeah, it was in a box, and? Unfortunately I will not go out of my way to shop here ever again. Bad customer service for no reason. There are too many other places to find fixtures.

I visited the place and found nice selection of light fixtures on display. The counter staff was helpful, and the prices were decent. Worth recommending!

Guy charges me extra for exit sign glass, when it was already included. And when I went to return it he asks for the extra sign glass. when its already inside. Would never shop there again. He called me back said he talked to guy that charged and provided a refund and apologized.

Great place to go, to find parts for your lamps. I was looking for an unusual swtching socket for my sisters lamp, we went to Home Depot and Lowes .Neither one had it, I remember that there was a lighting store not too far, from where she lived. We went in there and was able to locate the part in a parts catalog and a resonable price and the gentleman ordered it for her.The floor stand up lamp will soon be working and will not end up in the back of some scrap mans 🚚 truck,thanks to them.

This would be a 5 star rating if they had the best pricing. But the pricing is middle of the road, which is great. However, the staff is very dependable and they really go out of their way if need be.
