A store with everything, a good fruit and vegetable department, also organic, super convenient hours. I really enjoy shopping there! Thanks to the whole team.
POTASH MARKET. is the BEST LOCAL GROCERY in CHICAGOS NEAR-NORTH/LINCOLN-PARK Neighborhood. ...*POTASH Has EVERYTHING* !!!FRESH:Meats,Cheeses,Fruits&Vegies.Great Deli,*WINE Cellar* & Cheeses!Even Postage Stamps-!COURTEOUS! & CustomerFriendly!-Dr.Edwards-.
Very intimate shopping I loved it.All items are not accepted on ebt tho.
One of the last of the privately owned grocery stores in Chicago. They have a good selection of fresh vegetables meats and fish and they have some specialty items like locks and bagels and they will make a sandwich for you. The usual canned goods and frozen foods. The aisles are a little narrow and the place looks like it could use some modernization. They also have a large selection of liquors and beer. They have pick up and delivery. On some things their prices can be high but I chalk that up to being a private independently owned grocery store as a posed to a jewel. There is a parking lot around the corner that I have never used but I believe they either give you one or two hours of free parking or a big discount cuz parking in the neighborhood is very expensive. Street parking is almost non-existent. The employees are all very nice and helpful and they know where things are in the store when you ask them how do I find blah blah blah. Recommended.
Clean, well organized grocery store. Its a bit tight getting around but thats too be expected from a Gold Coast grocery store.
Small store, but has everything you need. Friendly staff, clean facility, and feels safe. Additionally, the girls in the Starbucks within the store are awesome!
The best local experience for shopping! Variety of products is stellar and service superior
This is a great store to shop at in the neighborhood. It has pretty much everything you need. Friendly staff and quick check out even when busy.
Has most of what you need. Good place to have for the nearby hotels.
So pleasant and convenient. Great deli sandwiches and hot bar. This is definitely my go to in the neighborhood!
We had not been in before and we really enjoyed the market. It was well stocked and the staff was friendly. We ordered sandwiches from the deli which were huge and super tasty. Well be back!
This store is a common place for customers to buy groceries. You can put orders for groceries conveniently and shop instantly. You will get a lot of options, from fresh foods to instant items. The place is clean and so big that if you decide to bring your car, you can park your car. Just fine!
This huge supermarket is useful for all because they provide natural services to customers. The place is clean and huge. There is a small park for people to relax after doing groceries. The place is convenient for people to shop because there are a coffee shop and a small pub for some relaxation. I will surely come back here for my next grocery.
Pretty good for a small city shop
Elitist expensive Gold Coast grocery store with sub-par deli selection and fresh food. Every thing I purchased that was “fresh” from the deli including $15 of large jumbo shrimp were tasteless and seemingly past fresh. The salmon I got wilted on the way home and basically melted in the bag with a huge fishy smell because it was mushy rather than firm so the plastic wrap didn’t keep well and juiced out. The pastries I got were also well passed their expiration and tasteless/rotting.I also felt highly judged by the 1% personas that shop here from the surrounding high rises which I never ever experienced around River North. I would say this place caters to the elderly given their old money vibes and bland expensive food.
A small, basic grocery store with premium prices. Its convenient if you live in the area. You can find most of what you need here, but if theres any other personal items youre looking for, head north up to the Walgreens up the street.
I love the place now. I used to work their and couldnt believe how it looked.
Great place and friendly staff.
It was easily accessible and aot of choices to be had. A touch crowded, but otherwise friendly and clean.
The supermarket has a wide range of great choices for your grocery needs. The idea of the supermarket is to supply fresh products to the public, and this concept was successfully achieved with the help of the supermarket staff. The focus of the company is on rendering high-quality products to the customers. Choose from a wide variety of products and take your first steps towards healthy living.
Easy in and out service.
Good variety, especially if you want to avoid big supermarkets. The employees are very helpful and friendly.
So convenient and great staff. Good location
All the goods you need were present in this supermarket. The dry and wet area was properly separated and labeled. You can really have a great time shopping in this place. Thank you for assisting me!
Fantastic neighborhood grocery store. The wine, beer, and liquor selection is really respectable such that it’s become my go to liquor store.
Great produce. Good variety. Priced according to the wonderful location in downtown Chicago - Magnificent Mile. ;)
Nice and clean very profitable.
Great little store with everything I need. Prices are a little high but not outrageous. Great wine selection for the size of the store.
🤨 omg a box of frozen pizza is 12$ and its freaking 4$ at Walmart.super pricey!
Great store! Awesome selection. We enjoy the clean atmosphere and friendly service. They have a nice selection of wines and organics too! The Potash Family has done an amazing job for years! Give them a try! You wont be disappointed!!!
Great selection of products and super friendly staff. Lots of vegan options.
I like. Perfect!!
They cook up some nice meals.
I always like to visit Potash Markets because they have a variety of items that are not usually found in other stores. The items were fresh and tasted good. Will visit again.
For many years, this store was dirty and run-down, which surprised me because its in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Chicago. They finally cleaned it up a bit and updated it, though it isnt very economical. Various pluses include the location and authentic bagels. It has the atmosphere of a neighborhood store and is there when you need it.
As usual good selection of high quality goods. Staff coping really well with covid and helping customers.
Great service. Gold coast pricing. Family owned. Great prep people.
Nice market downtown with a great selection. Stayed in a hotel a few blocks away and we were able to get a delicious baguette, cheese, olives and salami to have with some wine our first night.
I would recommend to other shoppers, to visit and enjoy very good value for money
Ok when your out walking, you might not expect to find a grocery so convenient. We whent in hoping to quell our grumbelieys. Yes they had lots of great choices. Ar check out the manager even comped us a very ripe banana. We eat our selections as we walk the streets of Chicago....why dont you stop in, tell them Joe sent you...they will say Joe Who...thats me 😃👍
The deli is very good. Nice selection of hot dishes in the deli for lunch. Salad and soup bar is always clean and well stocked. My new go to for lunch.
Good selection of food items. Freshly baked bread is good to here. Well stocked produce section. Friendly staff. Great medium sized market.
Always check the expiration date, this location sells expired food. Ive notified them numerous times with no resolution.
Great sandwiches at the deli.
This store is clean, great prices and more importantly good customer service.
This place is legit. Awesome selection of both veg and meat at some really, really good prices. Its definitely worth the drive out
Expensive, convenient grocery store.
Little pricey... but clean, convenient, well stocked, friendly
Pricy, but its downtown ...
Amazing! Just two blocks from my appartement. They have everything and very good quallity!
The Good: Great cheese selection with a knowledgeable cheese guy. Great craft beer, wine, and spirit selection with very helpful and surprisingly informed staff. Good produce, but sometimes you have to hunt for it because some of it is a bit past its prime. Lots of wild (but pricey) specialty items and ethnic foods. The Bad: Prices... everything can be a little more expensive, but that is to be expected with a small local grocery store. If you dont come early everything worth getting in the bakery is sold out.The Ugly: Many of the cashiers and stockers are very unprofessional if not downright rude. Checking out can sometimes be a nightmare with only 1 or 2 cashiers late at night.TL:DR This is a great store that is expensive (although you can find some great deals.) Its nice because its not a giant business and they will go out of there way to be helpful (granted you get someone who actually wants to be helpful.) All that said, I would rather support a small local grocery store than the other faceless businesses in Chicago. Support local business!
Sweet little semi-hidden gem. Extremely nice staff. Is now my neighbor store.
Really Potash gets 3.5 stars. Convenient if you live nearby. Selection is decent and theyre open late enough for impulse needs. Prices are a little higher as can be expected in the Gold Coast. They bring in a lot of baked goods from bakeries all over the place. This is a nice perk if you have a favorite loaf or pastry.
They have hard to find items and the hot bar is delicious. The staff is helpful and friendly, it truly is a gourmet, modern day Mom & Pop!!!
This is my go to grocery store near where I live. The selection is great, the service is superb and the quality of produce is right where it needs to be. I would recommend this grocery store for anybody wants him anything from fresh meats to fresh avocado. Great space.
Excellent service. Great selection and the food is fresh.
I go.for the prepared foods and they are always hot and fresh. Also tastes very good. I go almost every day for my lunch break. Good variety every day.
If you live in the loop and dont go here, you need to start. Jakub has helped me many times discover new wines and spirits I would have never tried. If I could give 10 stars I would
Potash gives you a really homely feel to your grocery shopping experience. Its different from other bigger grocery chains because its smaller and decorated in way that provides shoppers a really intimate atmosphere. I really enjoy coming here because things are easier to find and they have a great selection of really fresh produce. It may be a little more expensive but if youre all for supporting small, local businesses, this is a great one to get behind. Its been here since 1962 and hopefully itll go on for many more years!
Havent visited this place since I moved out of the neighborhood. Forgot how convenient it was .
Very nice market, great selection on goods. Salmon bits were delicious! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable
It has all the basics and some pretty good wine selection (several grapes & countries), fresh produce, and deli. Good location in downtown and stays open late, which was pretty useful as a tourist. Pricing was bit high but at least products were of good quality.
I love this grocery store. This has a very quaint small town feel in the middle of downtown. The store is not the biggest, so they suffer with some space issues, be sure to look up - you may find some items hanging above the freezer cases. A delicious salad bar, excellent desserts and a well stocked liquor section are other reasons to visit this place! Only problem is that their prices are a little overboard - they seem to cater to a rich downtown clientele.
Great food pricey though everything you can and not imagine.
Good selection of food and the produce appears to be fresh. They have a pretty wide selection of alcohol. I would go back to this place. It would be nice if they were open 24/7.
Love this place. Get so my good foods here. The pasta and juices are the best. Try their coffee. And great service.
Great selection, right downtown. Brightly lit and comfortable atmosphere.
I want to like this place, but the prices are a bit ridic. The sandwiches at the deli are very good though.
Convenient neighborhood market. Great wine and beer selection, produce and meat. Excellent for stocking up if you are only in town for a few days!
Super littleMarket. Great section of wines and very helpful staff. Great gourmet and regular food as well. It can et crowded right after work, but what do you expect.
Better than Trader Joes AND Whole Foods. Just an amazing selection and really quite unique products. Wish we had this in LA!
Now featuring local crafts at the jewelry counter... thats right a jewelry counter in a grocery store and it totally works. I liked it more when you could sit and eat upstairs, the downstairs part freaks me out.
Good product selection. Cheaper than Whole Foods but still pricey vs. supermarkets. Nice staff.
Rude employees at deli section, always close early than posted time
Great local grocery. Small place but always good service, very clean. I like using Apple Pay for groceries
Potash Market has some cool things to buy including their own branded food which were all good. The cashiers, however, were rather rude and did not provide good customer service, acting as if they did not want to be there. That is poor service right there.
Such a posh place!
Interesting store with a nice selection. Like that its family owned.
Excellent selection of products. Even have sushi and rotisserie chicken.
Conveniently located near my hotel. It is a neat neighborhood market with very helpful employees.
Nice selection. Right around the corner from our hotel.
With a range of grocery stores to choose from, i love to pop in here when Im in need of an ingredient quick! Its conveniently located to my apartment and its always nice to support the local businesses. The staff has always been friendly and helpful.
Expensive and few options. Their produce looks sad. Advice is to go to either Jewel Osco half a mile north or south of this location. The southern Jewel also has a Trader Joes right next to it.
Im new to Chicago area..Staff is very friendly and helpful..Management is wonderful..Im glad they are so close ..My only go to place for grocerys..
Their hot fresh pizza, roasted chicken and potatoes are good. The prices are a little high but to be a neighborhood store, it pretty much has everything you need!
They have all you need!
A very nice and well-maintained grocery store
Long time, friendly, neighborhood grocery store. Large liquor department. Great produce.
Great neighborhood market with deli and hot food counters, salad bar, great produce and wine.
Great grocery store. Excellent service.
Wonderful local market with pretty much everything you need for dinner tonight. Very Parisian-like.
A convenient location, but prices are very high .
Excellent selection, fresh produce, flowers, plants, international food. One stop shop downtown Chicago. Traffic is bad down here so youre better off walking here.
I like the cheese counter, friendly cheese monger and very knowledgeable. The deli provides interesting on the go snacks, and it is the only place I can find pimento spread and Tonys Cajun Seasoning in this town.
Great selection of specialty grocery items but a little on the pricey side.
This place is a hell hole, has been for years. Dates be expired on certain items. Customer service dont know details on items. Cashier are always loud, the asian guy who sit up stairs never finds a solution to a problem. The dairy guy is never there unless he has a full time shift of 5am-11am which is definitely low hours.
