Very overpriced, but four stars for having a couple albums that the staff didnt know existed but I was able to spot by staring across the counter for an uncomfortably long time. If you want a popular band, Target is cheaper. Moderately popular bands are sold out. Rare bands are dusty and worth every penny.
This is the best store to go to I literally love it, it’s real cute for kpop fans and for people who love BTS and other kpop artists
Maybe its just me but Id love to see more than just BTS and Blackpink. As someone who has been listening to k pop for 15 years, its kind of annoying to walk in and only see those two groups. They also wanted me to check my bag in. I just had my fiance hold it while I walked around. I dont really appreciate that. But good place to get bts and Blackpink merch.
Going inside was very cool and stunning. BUT THE PRICE FOR AN ALBUM WAS JUST RIDICULOUS. Map of the Soul Persona was $35.99 and usually is $20. I don’t know why it was super high priced, but just be aware. The ladies working there were lowkey rude. They kept giving us a look and said we can’t film which i understand. but at least say it nicely😩
I love kpop so much, and I was so excited to finally go to a kpop store but it was kinda a hostile environment, the people working were not very kind and I was so excited to go to a place with people who have shared interests but they were honestly kinda wanting me to leave the whole time and I went there when it was the busy in the early afternoon. So idk, it was a let down honestly.
Staff was kind and helpful but the albums there were selling were overpriced by at least $10-$20 which was so disappointing. You can get it cheaper by ordering from places online even including shipping. I did find it cool that they had some hard to find albums though
So i just went to this store and it didn’t have a variety of albums today maybe it’s the day i went but KpopUSA is way better, i got 7 albums for $166 at kpop usa and here i got 3 albums and a small stack of photo cards for $144.
Great love it!!! Love the culture and its very accessible
Its cool to have a kpop place anywhere. theres alot of albums there but 35$ for some unofficial bts merch sweatshirts??? nahh
Great selection of kpop related items. This store has really been ahead of its time. I remember visiting in 2010 during the time of SHINee, Super Junior, Infinite, TVXQ…
Overpriced like 10$ more than the original price maybe even more. The lady working there was rude tbh, they opened like around 20-30 minutes late and there were ppl there waiting for a while. Just not the best experience tbh😭
Loved it wanted to buy everything. Very nice people attending the place too.
Cant wait to come back 💜💜💜 absolutely loved my visit
Everything youd expect from Chinatown. Great people, good food, and memorable moments.
Was well worth the visit. An exper8.
Had a pretty decent variety of idols and groups. Even found VAV and Super Junior. Lots of BTS and Black Pink, but they are the most well known in the US so thats to be expected. Plus Im never gonna complain about seeing Namjoons face anywhere. I dont think they are the most reliable when it comes to business hours, so might want to call ahead. We went on a Saturday and they opened at around 12:45 pm, but Sunday they were open at noon (we went back before leaving the city). Yes a little pricey, but still fun to shop. The girls working were friendly enough. The store front sort of looks like its closed up, but once you go in it gets cleaner and brighter.
Really cool place and if youre lucky you can buy rare / out of print albums. theres a large focus on BTS merch (of course) but they also sell merch for many other boy and girl groups.
Great collection of merch, especially for BTS!
Only place near me who sells kpop stuff. I drive the 6 hours round trip for the excitement of being in a store with others that love the same groups. The staff is WONDERFUL. It has been so nice every time I have gone and recommend to other kpop stans.
Absolutely amazing selection - I was able to get out of print albums and saw many old groups and albums you can’t usually find even in stores in korea. However it’s disgustingly overpriced. I understand it is convenient to be able to get albums in person in the us but kpop albums should not cost $40-$60 per album. (I purchased two and paid $100) I understand for out of print merchandise but for new albums it should not be that expensive. Will not purchase standard albums from here again and I urge you to check online stores before coming here. But!!! if you are having trouble finding an older or oop album definitely check here you might have luck!!
My daughter got all the BTS stuff she wanted
So many food options and it so nice to see so many people out walking around.
Had a great selection of Kpop albums from multiple bands with New and old albums....however, it’s SUPER OVERPRICED for example, one of the albums was the BTS Skool Luv affair special edition for $120 and they have the same one at Target for $42. They also had a StrayKids lightstick for about $130 when it’s worth about $70, I understand that they need to make some profit but this is just extremely overpriced...I wouldn’t recommend buying from here unless you don’t mind buying one album for the price of 5, the only things you can buy here for a decent price are their keychains and socks.
Its really big and cool but everything is so much more expensive than it should be..
Found some good finds, but like mostly every comment here, the albums were overpriced and also the lightsticks $120.
Pricing overpriced but everything else is good
They had so many various albums. I couldn’t decide what to buy but ended up buying two albums. TXT and ENHYPEN. The only problems were that everything was WAY overpriced and they didn’t have a lot of light stick choicesz
Never seen more K-Pop stuff in one place before.
Terrible service. first off WAY too overpriced. about $20 more than a usual album costs. second, the moment i walked in i was told i couldn’t have my bag with me and was rudely told to leave it at the front. i tried to be fast because i could feel the cashier glaring at me the whole time, and made me and my friends feel like she didn’t want us in there. acting like we were gonna steal or something. never going here again
Thats a cool City because they have clothes and other stuff its really cool because I saw a lot of K-pop fans AKA I the group that I love its itzy and bts and txt and... blackpink.
Lots of popular and older artists/band merch to choose from.
You can find cheap album at target or Amazon.
A bit on the expensive side, but very welcoming service.
Unhelpful staff, wish-app merch, overpriced, very unorganized,
I went there for my birthday with my family and it was soo much fun. I bought my very first merch from there and I really enjoyed my day in China town. There was also and ice cream place near there that we visited and it was all just really fun. I will defenitly try to go another time again to buy some more BTS things.😁💜💜💜
Got everything I wanted and left. Nothing special.
My daughter is a huge BTS fan, so when I found out this store existed, I had to take her! Visited for the first time yesterday, and its K-Pop heaven. No pictures or video allowed inside (just FYI). Signs are everywhere explaining that. But other than that, they have a huge variety of merch from different K-Pop groups. From albums, to posters, stickers, keychains, buttons, mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, pillows, socks, etc. Prices are reasonable. We will definitely be going back!
Awesome drinks.
So much fun stuff and a great variety of groups. Not just newer stuff. Staff is also extremely friendly and helpful.
Great,l found a lot things from my favorite artist,BTS.😁
There were so many items to choose from! The prices were extremely reasonable and Im definitely going to come back 😅I got a Monsta X keychain, Monsta X posters, double sided suga keychain, Suga T-shirt, and a Chanyeol T-shirt. All of that came out to $54.04 😄. They always have sales and you can get alot without breaking the bank 😌.
The place was pretty nice, my only problem is how overpriced the items are. i saw a wanna one fan con for $100 where’s on an online store it’s $40 less than that. albums were very overpriced being 2x the amount than you would find online. staff was very nice, store mostly played bts, would be nice if they played other groups. the only albums i got were ioi’s whatta man and jbj’s new moon. would recommend if there’s a certain album that is sold out but there are other cheaper online stores where i would purchase from.
Overpriced, and some of the stuff you literally can get half the price from Wish. Don’t buy albums, you are better off getting them from Amazon
It has a decent variety of albums, both new and old, but stock seems to be limited at the moment because there were barely any newer albums on the shelves. My main issue is that they charge double the original price; I can’t say that the in-store experience was worth it.
All things K-pop. Is there even another store like this in Chicagoland? Probably not. Too bad they dont allow photos.
It was a really nice store had a lot of stuff i just wish they had more loona stuff
Very expensive but its good they have alot of things just know that if your going bring alot of money cause things are expensive im very happy with what i got tho 🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜
In terms of selection and variety of merch, its truly excellent. I was really surprised at the size of the place. K-pop videos are playing on the screen all the while, and the vibe in the store is really good. However, 90% of the merchandise is unofficial and the markups are really unreasonable. A lot of it is stuff that I saw in Korea so the availability is really surprising, but I really didnt feel like buying anything once I looked at price tags.
Love this place! Love Chicago!
When I came here the first time I enjoyed it! As the other reviews say, it can be a bit pricey and you also have to leave your bag in the bag check. Which I dont mind at all. The employees were nice too! I am planning on coming back and possibly buying more things soonSecond Trip: I enjoyed it and i got some more things, people say they had bad experiences with the employees but it depends on the employee you get
Store is too overpriced and the staff is unhelpful
Great store and very helpful staff!
Ive been there 3 or 4 times on past visits to Chicago and they have a great selection of albums, especially on girl groups, which is what I mostly focus on. My only wish is that they would carry more t-shirts and hats with girl group designs. Album prices have the typical retail markup, but you can find some items on sale, and even a few albums that are hard to find elsewhere. Specialty albums, like Miracle by Apink, are significantly more (like 2x more) than online stores though, so do your research before buying here. Still, if youre into Kpop, its worth stopping by and taking a look while youre in town. :)
The selection here is pretty good. The biggest issue is the markup in prices. Many things, you are better off getting online somewhere.
Cute little store but their high markups on item prices is gross! Save your money and get your light sticks and albums from official sites or during their concerts because you will pay $20+ more for them here. Everything is marked up between $5-20
Incredible store with an incredible selection. It was super busy when I was there, so it was a bit hectic, but you could spend a good chunk of time in there looking through all the albums they have to offer. They have a good mix of old and new offerings. Prices for some things can be a bit steep, but thats the price you pay to not have to deal with international shipping online. They also have a lot of shirts, some light sticks, posters, misc things if thats what youre looking for. If youre a Kpop fan, definitely check this place out!
Prices are slightly high which I can understand due to import of goods but overall a very nice store!!!!
They have a wide variety of products; mugs, clothes, jackets, hats, towels, jewelry, phone accessories, photos, pillows, stickers, albums, pens and notebooks - but about 90% of the product here is OVERPRICED UNOFFICIAL MERCH, stuff that you can have made for you at any t-shirt printing shop etc. Also the clothing sizes are way small, went to go shop for a friend and throughout the whole store I couldnt find her anything even close to her size, and shes not even that big.Theyre also very strict in the shop about not having any sort of bags on you while shopping, and of not taking any form of photos in any shape/way/form.Also the women there looking after the shop are of little to no help.
I love this place! Ive been here three times, although I always end up spending so much money. They have all the albums you can think of, many posters of your favorite groups or idols. Im in love with this store just because i can splurge on my kpop hobby/addiction 😂
Overall it was a unique experience. I have no interest in K-pop but my friends did. One thing that I didnt like about K-Pop of Chinatown was that it didnt allow any photos within the store. If they would allow it, they probably would get more business
My daughter loved it, youll find everything and anything related to k pop
When I was looking through the reviews, I had seen some people saying the lady was rude to them. To me, she was actually really nice and let me keep my drink with me and we never had a problem. The store in its own is awesome and they have a lot of posters and albums, etc. The only thing I would have to say is some of the prices are a little high depending on what youre willing to spend and how much you think is good or too much. I definitely come here often and would recommend it.
Any Kpop fan would love this place! Its a cute little store that has tons of Kpop merch. A lot of it is unofficial but cute nonetheless. The store also has a lot of albums.
The granddaughter was in heaven, blew $110 (not my money). Im not an expert on the genre but staff was pleasant and helpful. I had never been in this Chinatown but found it interesting and not scary. Worth a visit.
Good selection. A little pricey on albums. The novelties are pretty fairly priced though. Organization makes it hard to find specific groups in the novelties if youre not into WANNA ONE or BTS. Staff does not interact with customers at all until you ring out.
Very cool store!! Great selection!!!
No phone and cameras are allowed used, as soon as you walk in. They come to your personal space and tell you cant take pictures and follow you around like youre gonna steal their things, very pricey for their stuffs. But I could understand why they dont want pictures taken, most of the stuff there are fakes and I could also see why no pictures, the owner could be shut down. Didnt read reviews before going in there, the shirts that I bought was ruined in one wash. But for counterfeits not to shabby.
Very busy and small. Dont bring bags inside because you will have to get it checked. Price is reasonable and nice one stop shop for all your K-Pop needs. Only spot in Chi-town with the heaviest dose of K-Pop.
Expensive but they have a good variety of things. The staff tho dont really help and only talk to you when you’re going to pay.
Good merchandise of many groups 😇🤗a con is that it is expensive, maybe it’s cause im poor and it’s a bit warm inside lol
I absolutely loved this place! They have every single k-pop group and drama actors you can think of. Came out with $30 worth of stuff and it was quite a bit. Although, no video or photography and there is a flight of stairs leading to the store.
The staff is always rude. When ever you ask them for something they give you a annoyed look. The albums are also a bit exaggerated in the price. Personally, I’ve never had a good experience in there.I do appreciate the variety of artist albums they have though.
Great selection of kpop stuff. Had to leave my bag at the entrance, so it was hard to not be anxious about it getting stolen. But the staff was helpful when I asked for things
Made my daughters birthday a success. Very well stocked and good customer service.
Great place to buy K-pop merchandise however some items are made cheap so be careful with the bang for your buck. Also you cant bring any bags in unless they are clear but line moves fast.
It was pretty cool inside. They have a nice variety of k pop stuff. They are strict if you have a bag or backpack and want you to set it by the entrance so if you dont trust that then Id recommend not going in with a bag or backpack or you cant go in. I asked if their jewelry were sterling silver and they didnt know so, if you cant wear fake jewelry then dont buy it. Some of the items they have are cheaply made like the face masks, so be careful. Other then that, they have a pretty neat selection of kpop souvenirs if you or someone you know are fans of kpop.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! They have stuff from all kinds of groups. They can get expensive but its worth it! And the workers are nice and they did not give us any rude looks or anything there. Cant wait to go back again soon!
First of all, the owner actually is nice if you arent an idiot and you are respectful. And second of all, the stock is incredible! The prices are expensive but at the same time people need to realize that the process of getting the items is hard and pricey. Plus the owner needs a profit to run the store and support herself. You are supporting a small business when you make a purchase as well as the artist, etc.
Not too shabby. Not gonna lie i was kinda nervous because of some of the reviews but its was a nice experience lightstick were a bit too expensive if you ask me though they were like 74.99 for them but they had a variety of albums and lightsticks ie. Wanna one, blackpink, monsta x, bts, svt was deeply impressed. Really the only negative was the staff kinda gave off an i dont wanna be here type vibe but other than that not too shabby. Edit: would go again!
I got 2 twice albums and i got a photocard blackpink case and photocards along with it. i think they should have used different photos in the photocards and the case broke as soon as i opened it :( but i liked the albums ❤️
The staff never ask if you need help and have very unapproachable facial expression the whole time. The stickers and socks are the only things of reasonable price. I usually pay $25, including shipping, when I order albums online and the one I purchased today was $36 in the store. The albums are also behind the counter, and with the rude looking staff, I doesn’t seem like you can freely ask to see any of them.
I love this place. Its so fun and the staff is really nice.
Nice place to pick up k pop stuff!
My daughter wanted to shop here. Google said open at 11:00 on Sunday. We got there 11:10: locked, no posted hours, at least one other customer waiting. I called the phone number: no answer, mailbox full. At least post your hours. We didnt know if we should wait or not.
It was my first time there and the whole environment was amazing. They played some classic and new kpop songs in the store which made everything better. It might look small on the outside, but once I went in it was way bigger. Plus, their supply on kpop goods is very up to date. Other than that the employees were sweet, and if you came to find something that wasnt there. The employees will help you find it since some items are behind the counter. In short the store was great.
Well good stuff, kinda pricey, but its always fun to look there. Why 3 stars? The staff is kinda salty idk what to call it, but they called seventeen trash Im a customer I dont care what you think Im purchasing this.
