Great customer service as my wife was able to choose the perfect harp for her.
Great experience from start to finish! My appointment to look at their harps went very smoothly, and my pick-up experience in Chicago was quick & efficient. Very happy with my harp. Thanks!
A wonderful place, Amazing staff and the Worlds greatest harps! Ive never felt so appreciated!
Absolutely amazing product I only have two comment:1) I was trying to buy a new harp and I had to call the lady and leave a few messages before getting a call back. This happened every time I would call, t was a little upsetting.2) I ordered in November and was told I’d get it in 4 months. It ended up being 6 months but worth the wait.
I just service the Vending machines there. But great employees, checking temperature and taking precautions from covid.
Evertime I call no answer horrible service
The best. I bought a Lyon & Healy #17 in 1986. It still works like new and the sound has only gotten more amazing over the years.I read one review by someone who had what they felt was a too stringent credit experience. I paid cash on the barrel for mine so I cant comment on that. I am sure L&H is under tremendous pressure to keep their costs down. Prices have more than doubled on mine since I bought it. The harp is such a niche instrument; perhaps their strict credit notions grow out of being hyper-vigilant about damage and loss. Can only guess. So much work goes into creating each harp. Their instruments are still very much hand-made, so many skilled and specialized crafts people are needed to carve, paint, and assemble each harp; not to mention their building is huge (presumably own it - its so close to downtown it would cost a fortune to rent). That being said, they are still not the most expensive harp makers in the world.Go on the tour, to see how the harp is made - fascinating! On that note, I recommend when you want to buy one, come in and play the ones available to buy. Because they are individually and for the most part hand-made, there are slight differences if you have a discerning ear. The one I chose has the most beautiful 2nd and 3rd octaves I have heard on any harp, to this day. Even when I was starving, I couldnt part with it.So many beautiful harps in their showroom - it is like a trip to Mecca. You wont be disappointed.
Lyon & Healy has been producing the finest concert harps since 1889. Production is small because of the years required to produce hand-made harps. This firms harps are used throughout the world in many of the finest orchestras and opera houses. The firm has also a line of folk harps and electro-acoustic harps more suitable for folk music, beginning players, and for even pop music. If you can find a better harp, its not on earth.
Great customer service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Harp factory tours are offered daily. The office and showroom are closed Saturday and Sunday including all national holidays. The showroom has a very wide selection of Lyon & Healy harps to see and try out, new and some pre-owned. On the same level as the showroom there is also the recital/concert hall overlooking the mesmirizing Chicago skyline. L&H has everything from harps, acesessories, strings, sheet music, dollies, harp repairs, and just about any other harp need.
Beautiful and carefully handcrafted harps, from beginner to Grand Concertinas.
Take the tour of you get a chance!
Beautiful place
