These Guys are tops. Like, they really went above and beyond in restoring my Wurlitzer 112a, a notoriously bothersome instrument to work on. They were accommodating to my needs and made me feel like family hanging out with me for a good while as I had driven all the way from Louisville, KY and got wide-eyed & toddler arm-wiggly excited at the stock of impressively cool stuff inside their store.They did me right 120% and I would return with future business in a heartbeat

The Chicago Electric Piano Co. are top notch! We had an emergency and needing urgent support - their team stepped up and really help us out. They provided one of their fully restored Rhodes, and it sounded amazing... it turned out to be the key focal point of the night!

Max and his team are outstanding at what they do. Being a very detailed and particular person, Max was incredibly patient with me. He’s extremely knowledgeable and respectful of budgets. Never did he up-sell or pressure me to have more done to my Rhodes MK 1 than what was needed. He was incredibly hospitable, allowing myself and my friends to crash his workshop and play on his wide variety of expensive vintage instruments (Including a Mellotron!) for nearly two hours on a Saturday morning. He’s an honest guy and I’d recommend his services and consultation without reservation. His shoppe is second to none and worth the visit. So thankful that someone of my generation is interested, trained and qualified to work on vintage keyboards. Thanks, Max. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Years ago someone did some work on our Wurlitzer and left it in unplayable condition. It sat in storage for a long time until we found The Chicago Electric Piano Company. We decided to have them work on tuning it and had them do a full restoration. They fixed it and also gave the same treatment to our Rhodes. Now they sound great and artists coming through our studio use them all the time on their records. We are so grateful for Max and the team for getting our vintage keyboards in shape and for the amazing service they have provided along the way. Thanks guys!

When it comes to vintage electric piano gear, no one in Chicago does it better than the Chicago Electric Piano Company. The instruments are exceptional, the atmosphere in the shop in warm and inviting and the rates for repairs and maintenance are very fair. Cant recommend these guys highly enough!

I was given a Wurlitzer Electric Piano as a gift and was afraid to trust just anyone to fix it up. After an extensive search and a recommendation from another specialty shop, Im went with Max and his company and I am beyond thrilled. Max is truly a master of his craft. He was able to travel to my home (far outside the Chicagoland area) and get my piano playing as if it was fresh off the factory floor. He also replaced the amp and it now should be good to go for another 40 years! Max was very laid back, knowledgeable, and treated me like I had been a customer forever. We had some great conversations about electric pianos and I learned a lot about my instrument. His rates were also reasonable for the quality of work he did. Not impressed with the assistance I received to a question yesterday. Asked if a part (pickup) was available for purchase or could be made and shipped. He asked my why I wanted this particular part made this way more than once after telling him that my idea was part of a larger wurli modification that I didnt care to share the specifics of. He then followed up the conversation stating that I could just ...get some tin and dremel the footprint of the pickup. I told him I didnt trust myself with that level of precision. I assumed it was an insult. He said he didnt have a CNC. It seemed kinda flippant when he said well, if youre not going to share with me any information, then Im not going to either. From the role as a provider of a product or a service, why is kinda outside the realm of helpful and necessary questions. I dont really care if people profit from my ideas. Its happened before. Not a huge deal. But, not ideal either. From an engineering standpoint yes, but, as a manufacturer, no, the question of why is not really effective. The questions of, how and what get a part made and shipped. Not why.

Extremely kind and helpful staff, great selection of rare vintage keyboards, fixed up two clavinets in an hour for a more than fair price.
