I used to love this place but recently it feels like they’re sending the worst quality stuff on delivery orders because they know it’s not acceptable in restaurant. On two different occasions I’ve ordered tiramisu that has arrived so mangled it’s inedible. Chicken parm is way over cooked and tough. Cheese bread was okay though a bit overdone as well. It’s sad because I think their food could be really good, but the quality of my last two delivery orders has been lacking.
Wide selection of signature pastas. The service is excellent! The restaurant was busy filling to go orders for pick up and delivery; however, it was nice to eat at a booth inside! Everything was clean and all of the workers were friendly! Prices are fair and Tuesday is wine night! I cant wait to dine-in again!
This place has excellent pasta dishes which makes me forgot the loud college type atmosphere it displays itself as. Some of the music selection can be obnoxious but that is all subjective. The pasta is fantastic and the portions are fair. Simple and good. Worth a visit if you are in the Lincoln park area
I took my date here the other day. I was very excited and when we got the food it was delicious. However, after eating about a quarter of the pasta my girlfriend found a hair in hers. The wait staff was super nice and respectful but it was hard to eat anything else there after. She also couldnt find a manager to talk with us about it. She did comp the entree we found the hair in and offered free dessert but neither of us could attempt eating again from there. I might try again some other time but for now that was really off putting.
This is one of my favorite pasta restaurants in Chicago. A definite must try if you have never tried it before.
My god the service the food the place everything was just beyond perfect this place is just awesome the food is super delicious 😋 Me and and my girl had a great time
There are plenty of pasta places in the city, but theres a reason I keep coming back to this one. The quality is always consistently very good, and prices are fair. Service is friendly, and I enjoy the atmosphere. Delivery is a bit hit or miss as it can be very slow and food has occasionally arrived cold and soggy. Not really the Pasta Bowls fault, but best to eat in, if possible.
I placed my order on GrubHub Ave then drove to the wrong location. The staff and manager were very gracious and they remade our food here so my pregnant wife could eat. The food was amazing, would recommend the gnocchi to anyone.
Amazing pasta! It was my first time on a visit to Chicago and the food was exceptional. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs they served a portion large in size and flavour. The bolognese sauce was perfect. The experience was also fun because the server was super friendly and made some great recommendations. This is one of the best Italian restaurants Ive been too and I have been to to Italy! Its a unpretentious spot in Lincoln Park and I would visit in the future.
Visited Chicago for the first time and wanted to try something new. I will most definitely return here again when I come back! Staff was very friendly and food was amazing! I had the tortellini crema its a must have!
Wow, we walked by this little find and were sold on the smell that came out of the restaurant when the door opened. The smell of fresh cheese and garlic had us sold at the door to check it out.So glad we did! Im not an Italian fan, but this place changed the game. We ordered their specialities and were enjoying every bite. Saucy, rich, flavorful, and creamy. Love love love! The portions were HUGE and adequately priced. The service was excellent!Definitely coming back again :)
I think when I saw 4.6 i had a certain expectation. The appetizers were fine. And I did test my friends gnocchi and it seemed ok. I ordered a simple pesto pasta and the noodles were over boiled and soft, like when you forget about the pasta on the burner. The pesto was pretty plain, along with the bread. I go to restaurants to find dishes that I cannot make myself.Im not that good of a cook. But I can throw Barilla and a jar of pesto together and set a timer for 6 minutesThe manager said that they wouldnt charge me and that he didnt care it was soft which was nice of them.
I didn’t eat at the restaurant. I ordered my food to go. The guy who brought my food was very nice. The food itself…MAJOR WIN! It was sooooooooo goooooooood! I ordered the tortellini and my wife ordered the chicken Alfredo. Both of the dishes were filled with pasta! Totally worth the money. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!
Every time Ive come to this restaurant Ive had really excellent service and food; Ive had the same waitress, Dani, every time and shes incredibly chill and always makes me want to come back.
Very yummy pasta and at good prices too. Definitely will eat here again
A very family friendly pasta place. The price is unbeatable considering the quality and the portion. Our dishes were brought up very fast. Mozzarella tomato basil salad was simply good. Cranberry and strawberry salad with goat cheese, walnut and pear was very refreshing. Special of the day was shell pasta with pesto source, shrimp, mushroom and sun dried tomato. The pesto source tasted great, but the pasta was a bit over cooked.
Pure entertainment for kiddos to sit at pasta bar & enjoy the chefs show! The pasta is so so yummy & the service is on top of everything as well as friendly.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! Great atmosphere - literally such a vibe!😂 And the pasta was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Great taste and portions for the price! If you’re in the area, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT, you won’t regret it.
As soon as you walk in, the fresh homemade aromatic smell of Italian hits you. Its amazing! We were seated and served very quickly! Our food was out in minutes! Very delicious to say the least! The open front kitchen was a bonus! I will be making another stop soon to try what Im sure will be another amazing dish! Pictured: (spaghetti and meatballs and pesto basil linguine)
This is not Italian pasta. Super bland food. this is OK for a quick bite I guess, but if you’re wanting authentic Italian, I’d go elsewhere.
It is our favourite restaurant: food is amazing, big portions and well priced! Highly recommend it. When ordering home delivery, they sometimes get the order wrong such as mushrooms on the side (and they dont) extra bread or cheese etc. Just double check before you pick-up.
One of my go-to places for good pasta. Never had a bad dish or experience here, and Ive been going for literally a decade. Highly recommended.
Happened to be walking past this place, and decided to walk in and order. I’m not a huge fan of chicken Alfredo, but the menu confused me a bit as I’m not a pasta aficionado, so I decided to order the Alfredo since it’s all I understood on the menu. I’m so glad I chose this because it was absolutely delicious! Lots of flavor and chicken was tender. The staff was very kind too, and the girl that took my order was cute. All in all, I’d definitely reccomend this place.
I loved the food here. Portion sizes are on the bigger side. The Oreo cake was amazing!!!
Great little pasta restaurant in the heart of Lincoln Park. Inside feels very cozy due to smaller capacity as the building is shared by the bar next door, “The Other Side Bar”. Right in the thick of things on Clark Street, the location seems very ideal and accessible. The food was simple, but done very well and tasted delicious. It was delivered to the table shockingly fast, well within 15 minutes of ordering, likely closer to 10. We will definitely visit again the next time we’re on the north side.
Ordered from here on Postmates. This is really good Italian - quality of the sauces and cheeses, and balance of flavors is really good.
Delicious food, low key and comfortable environment. Great value.
The BEST pasta place!!! The $50 Dinner for Two special is an incredible deal. My boyfriend and I have ordered for pickup from here twice since the start of the pandemic for special occasions when we can treat ourselves, and will certainly order again. We got this Dinner for Two special on Valentines Day this year, though Im pretty sure everyone in town had the same idea because they were PACKED with people picking up orders and there was no delivery option available (which is completely understandable!). We had to walk around outside for a while because they were slammed with orders, but the food was just as great as usual!
Me and another mother, 3 crazy children in total! Amazingly nice staff and the food was surprisingly great! I had the lobster ravioli and it was soo good! Too bad I didnt take any pictures! Definitely coming back!
One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had, and the service was superior! Will absolutely be back!
Theyre very nice and pleasant. I like the ambiance of the place. Very welcoming😁👍🏾
I really love it, the Farfalle Pollo was the beeeeest 😍 good price, good staff, good promos.
The pasta was so delicious & stayed amazingly hot for a very long time! My BFF & I will definitely come back on a future Chicago trip! Thank you!!
What an awesome place! Really great pasta dishes in big quantities.
Delicious with huge portions. Cozy environment and the kitchen is visible to all, a sign of high quality when restaurant is willing to show the action. It seemed a little expensive ($14 and $16 for pastas I think) but the ingredients are high quality and the portions are large enough for two meals. We also got the garlic cheese bread which was amazing.
Delicious foodGreat serviceNice AtmosphereFriendly Owner and waitersFair PricesHighly recommended I will be back
Amazing Italian food at a great price. Even just getting it to go it was still delicious when we go back to the apartment. Definitely found a place to go to again and again!!
Found place by the smell of garlic bread. Wandered in with my daughter. Cool art all around, place had board games, we played Uno. Food was outstanding!!!!!! Huge shrimp in the pasta, killer garlic bread, Wowzer Waffel fries. Just all around awesomeness 👌. And our waitress Mattie was just as amazing. Definitely on the list to hit up again!
Fantastic Italian food at a reasonable price! Several vegetarian options. Also really loved the Aperol paloma cocktail.
Cozy place, friendly staff, layed back restaurant. I literally travel a few miles to eat at Pasta Bowl. I actually just took my partner, today, for the first time and he fell in love with it. I personally love the macaroni with broccoli, bread crubs, and add chicken. Honestly, everything is so good!
Love this place!!! One of my absolute favorite places in the city! The food is incredible and the prices can’t be beat! Go here when you can! You won’t regret it!
I have been to this restaurant several times and everytime is a wonderful experience! The food is absolutely delicious! The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and make you feel like theyve known you for a long time. Carlos, the manager, is wonderful! He always makes sure everything tastes right and the dining experience is perfect. Definitely recommend this place!!
Came on a date to try this place, everything was great food. We ordered two pasta dishes and a meatball sub . We tried to pay in cash and they didnt have change for a $100. So we tipped cash we had and payed debit. The last remark our waiter Ryan made really made the whole situation uncomfortable and awkward. He felt he deserved a larger tip and requested one, saying 10% on $55 tab wasnt enough. It was very disrespectful we had made plans while eating of returning but will try other options before spending our hard earned money
Had an awesome time! went for $5 glasses of wine on wednesday. was warmly greeted by dani and michelle was the best server. both women were incredibly personable and welcoming! i will be coming back one million times and bringing friends and family. ❤️
One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to.
Love love LOVE this place! Consistently excellent pasta dishes! Give it a try, you wont be disappointed. You get a lot of food for what you pay. Yummy yummy yum yum!
The Pasta Bowl was amazing. Our server was super attentive despite the busy night. And the food.... Oh mama. I had the chef special (fettuccine with shrimp and mussels with peppers in a white wine sauce) and my boyfriend had the signature dish (farfouille with chicken and mushrooms). The chicken in his dish had a great smoky flavor that made the dish spectacular. The shrimp and mussels in my dish tasted fresh and were plentiful. For an appetizer we had crab cakes with horseradish sauce and tartar sauce. Eat all the horseradish sauce. Every last bit of it. I wished there were more than 3 but to be honest with a full plate of pasta we didnt need it. I would definitely come back.
They have the to-go pasta thing down
Wish I could give no stars cook has a real starring problem and can’t cook to save his life noddles half cooked chicken no flavor they don’t care if your food was poor will charge you and still ask for a tip a serious joke poor service for a great area
This place is not only amazing food but also amazing people! I’m new to the city and ordered to the wrong location 🤦♀️ the staff at the place I showed up at got me my food with no additional charge. After a full day of work and furniture moving, I was so appreciative. It only got better when I opened up my dishes and dove in 😋
This was my first time ordering from Pasta Bowl Lincoln Park for pick-up. I agree with many of the reviewers that the staff is very nice, easy to place an order and it’s ready when they say it will be which is the reason I gave any stars. However, the food I ordered did not meet my expectations and I ended up throwing it out after a few bites.I ordered their specialty—farfalle pollo which is bow tie pasta with chicken. While the portion was extremely large, unfortunately it left a lot to be desired. There was plenty of bow tie pasta swimming in a 9” diameter bowl with cheese and mushrooms and sauce but I was disappointed that there was not much grilled chicken (you know there’s a problem when you have to hunt for the main ingredient in the entree). Sadly, there was nothing special about their specialty. So if you are not calorie conscious, like to eat lots of pasta and cheese in a soupy mixture and want to dine at a restaurant that has very few customers (I was the only customer when I stopped by in the late afternoon), this is the entree to order but don’t order it for the grilled chicken because you will be disappointed.I do like supporting local restaurants and will give Pasta Bowl one more try if I can find an entree that is not overrun with sauce. What I should have done was have a few cocktails at their bar next door to forget about pasta. My advice is if you want to eat genuine Italian food, there are better choices in Chicago for you to try. 🙁
Oh my God the food is great, freshly cooked pasta dishes over a stove and served piping hot 🔥 🍳 delicious rich italian 🇮🇹 cuisine!!!!I would highly recommend it
Food was great and the service and staff was awesome! Definitely coming back here!
Little place great food.
Best Pasta Ive ever eaten!! This tastes way better and more delicious than Olive Garden or the Cheesecake Factory.I got this via Ubereats, they made it super fast and fresh within 15 minutes! The chicken parmesan is a must-eat! Their chicken piece is really big and savory with melted cheese on top.The chicken alfredo is good too. Flavorful but not oily.Totally recommended!
Amazing food, love to come here if I need a nice big meal. Dishes are so large I can usually split it in two and eat it for 2 separate meals.
I was looking for something different to eat and I came across this and the food was wonderful
Great customer service, good food that comes and quick and hot! Got recommended the conchiglie al fuso pasta. Have some now and for later cause it’s big!!
This little gem in Lincoln park is our go to for quick delicious pastas! Even the kids mac and cheese is delicious. You see every pasta dish being made in front of you at the bar. Indoor seating with open veranda. Friendly servers, but very small space. Reasonable prices, plenty of food, and excellent calamari!
Definitely will return and satisfied customer.
Thank you to the chef and her team for an outstanding job with the catering needs at this restaurant. Under extremely tight deadlines, the restaurant agreed to host my case.
It smells and tastes wonderful. The aftermath feeling is what led me to a 4; everything is excessively heavy and weighs you down a lot. I know that italian food doesnt have to be this heavy. Wish it was lighter overall.. then it would be perfect!
I did not like the seafood, it was not fresh, and the garlic Bread tasted like a burnt grill.
Very good pasta and friendly service.
Service was great, food was not. I felt sick to my stomach after eating it and the leftovers were even worse.
The server was the best part of the venue. The food was bland but the mozzarella sticks and salads were OK.
Great service. Decent food.
This place is unreal. They never let up, it’s perfect food every single time. Highly recommend, I will be back.
Made an account to leave this review lol. Wow this place was amazing, best chicken parm I’ve had. Ran into this place by scrolling through Italian places while in Chicago from Houston and it did not disappoint at all. Nice cozy restaurant and friendly & attentive staff. They even let us wait inside for our Lyft to arrive as they were already closed and it was snowing. Next time I’m in Chicago I will make sure this place is on my list to stop again.
Love this place! Pasta is the best Ive ever had!
Great pasta! Lots of delicious choices. Friendly service.
Excellent place for fresh made pasta and great drinks next door. First time I was there I was outside looking in not sure if I wanted to try a new restaurant. Carlos the manager came out and invited me in and said he guaranteed I would would enjoy the food. He was CORRECT! Great service, food and drinks.Ive been back several times since! Try the Signature dish!
This place is delicious. It never disappoints. I live nearby so order from here often. The portions are huge and I always end up getting two or three meals out of one bowl of pasta. Ive tried multiple items on the menu and have loved every single one. My favorite is the Lucky Penne.
Today was my first day at The Pasta Bowl... and if you’re reading this review, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Pasta Bowl!! You will not regret it, the portion sizes are unbeatable 😌!!! Our server was nice and helpful. The manager Carlos was very considerate after we were waiting, he gave us a free appetizer and dessert. Thank you so much! I enjoyed the food🙂!! I will most definitely come back!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
Anyone with food allergies do NOT eat here. I have a severe tree nut allergy and ordered a Caesar salad from this location and there was a stray walnut in it, causing me to have to immediately go to the hospital. When I called the restaurant later to try to get the situation resolved, I wasnt offered anything but re-making my order. I understand mistakes happen but for people who suffer from sever allergies, those mistakes can be life threatening. I will never eat at this place again due to their carelessness.
This is the greatest pasta place in Chicago! I have been a regular since 2013. Everyone I have taken here has loved it too. My favourites are Lucky Penne and Rigatoni Bolognese but everything on the menu is amazing!
Relaxed fun spot w large portions and great selection of drinks.
