Super knowledgeable staff – helped me select the perfect corned beef for the desired purpose; can buy bacon ends and pieces for cheaper than regular bacon slices, though still same price per pound; my friend loves their sandwiches and raves about them every time the place is mentioned around them.

I love going to the Chico Meat locker. They are one of the best butchers we have in town. They take food stamps which is a great help for some of the people who are low income based in town. They do deli sandwiches, but if you want it hot it wont be covered by food stamps. The staff inside is amazing and always friendly. Dont be afraid to ask questions, they are always willing to help.

We picked up meat from here last week and it was great. Today, my husband went to buy a sandwich and not a single worker was wearing a mask. It seems crazy to be handling all that food and working with customers and not be wearing a mask with everything going on. I wish they’d take recommended precautions to protect themselves (all those customers coming in each day!) and others.

This is a small butcher shop. Its all they do and its the real deal. Im not a big meat person, but we got our Thanksgiving turkey here and it was fantastic. It was very busy when I went to pick it up. They have all kinds of sausages and cuts of meat on display. They make sandwiches there, and if you come back from your hunting trip with large game, they will dress and package it for you.

I bought sausage and beef bones for my dogs. I will be back to try more and pick up lunch too! I highly recommend, the staff is superb!

Wow! This place is a hidden gem in Chico. Some of the best cuts I have ever purchased. I highly recommend buying something that theyve cooked... they do an amazing job. Perfect seasoning and they way they smoke their meats is to die for. I love their sandwiches too! I wish I could eat here everyday

Very clean and friendly people. Loved the atmosphere there. Use to buy dogs treats/liver from there but vet told me wasnt good for them (Chihuahuas) to chew pig ears. Liver is good sometimes. Havent been there in some time but highly recommend going there for the butcher shop and food.

We always get our meat from here and I treat myself to some peppered jerky sometimes. Hands down the best cuts in Chico. Only issue is the size of the d lit area for how busy it is every time we are there. Highly suggest getting your meat from here!

Got a cooked whole hog for a family event and it was excellent. Excellent butcher. Be forewarned though, nothing here will be inexpensive.

Chico Meat Locker has been processing our beef and pork for almost 10 years. The ham & bacon are award winning; SO much tastier than what youd purchase in a store! The bacon is more valuable than gold in my house. Theyve always been wonderful to work with.

Sandwiches are packed with meat, not much cheese but the smoked cheddar had lots of flavor. If you oder a special for the day you get a small side or a drink. The bald lady that was working there was a little on the rude side wheareas the woman that was working in the back (I beleive was making the sandwiches) was understanding. This was my first time going here, and it was an overall great experience. I ate my food too fast to take a picture sorry not sorry. Go buy yourself a sandwich 😂😂😂

They have a great selection from sausage to tri tip and everything in between. I can even get sausage casings to make my own sausage. Very friendly and fast service. Oh and the sandwiches are to die for! Worth a try for a new lunch time favorite.

Best meat available

Ordered Turkey and Salami. They said I had to pay a dollar extra to split the meat. I received 2 very thin slices of turkey torn in pieces on top of salami that did not cover the bread and no cheese that I ordered and payed extra for. Someone is really trying to save money there in their shop. Very disappointed ☹️

Wow!!!! Went in for the first time to get my aging lab a nice cold treat, but what a great staff and selection of every meat you can imagine!!!!! Ill definitely be back to try the sandwiches, and everything else!!!

They are always the best!!!! My daughter turned me on to them years ago......they make the bestsmoked turkeys for Thanksgiving, and are awesome about slicing your meat just the way you wantit. Their sandwiches are also a bonus.....love the french dip or the smoked turkey with smokedcheese on sourdough. Ooooo, I almost forgot, their beef sticks are great too-cant go wrong withany flavor! Helpful staff, all great and make sure your order is perfect!

Ive only been here for sandwiches, its handy on Friday to phone in your order for their Tritip special otherwise expect to wait awhile. Place has that small town local business feel. Also beware the neighborhood has a lot of transient traffic.

Absolutely worst customer service ever. Lady in charge has brain damage or something and can not remember one single thing. If my smoked salmon ever arrives I’ll be surprised if I will even try it. Purchased a rib eye steak today - BEST steak I have ever tasted! Thought it would just be me and my husband tonight, but my son joined us so I ran to Safeway for another steak. The Safeway steak was good, but the Chico Locker and Sausage steak was epic - and the per pound price was the same.

If you want a GOOD SANDWICH Youll find it at Chico Locker. While youre there pick up some of there fresh stakes, chops, sausage for the BBQ.The only complaint I have is theirs never an empty seat😉

Took my 2019 deer to Chico locker for processing. They did an excellent job!

Awesome staff, great selection of meat, sandwiches and jerky are top! They run specials throughout the week on different types of BBQ. Double check their website to see what the dates are exactly but they offer: smoked pork spare ribs, sausage, and tri tip!! I really enjoy smoking/BBQing and you can find cuts here that the big chains dont carry. I did some beef plate ribs on my smoker for my birthday along with some of their linguica house sausage. My family really enjoyed both. Also, the owners are almost always in there working away. Have questions about what youre buying? How to cook it? Youve come to the right place.

Owner is rude, and the older lady behind the counter. Their product is good . But been told by numerous people not to have your meat butchered there.

Sandwiches are delish!! the meats are fresh and local. On a few occasions Ive Gotton to see locals bring in their own products to be butchered. Staff is accommodating, but they get busy.
