Well, I like their products. Almost all of the staff members are friendly & helpful however there is one that doesnt seem to be very interested in his customers or how courteous and/ or helpful he is. Ive always thought maybe he was having a bad day or it was too hot that day making him kind of irritable! Im not the only one who has had the same experience with this fella. Ive watched him treat others the same. I figured maybe thats just his personality and who he is, maybe hes shy and doesnt like interacting w/ people he doesnt know. Then I heard how he corresponded w/ a co-worker and wasnt any different. I try not to complain but I thought maybe he needs a hug or hear how someone is treated can make them have a good or bad experience/day. So, Im wishing him a good day, a big smile, happiness and a hug !!!

There are very good prices here and staff is nice and helpful. Place is a bit dirty, for example cobwebs around feed bins etc. Altogether pretty good.

This place is great! The staff are very well informed and super helpful. They have a pretty awesome selection of super tuff dog toys that my big dog really loves. He is a destroyer of chew toys and very big and Northern Star Mills is the best place I have found for toys that can stand up to his jaws. They also sell really high quality dog food and they also have a bulk section where you can get great dog food for pretty cheap if money is tight! Its been a life saver many times! Well stocked section of high quality vet supplies at super competitive prices..They get an A+ from us!!!

Fantastic local feed store. The store is on the main drag. The parking is somewhat limited. Always free, but you might have to work at it if they are busy. Especially if you have a trailer. The employees are very helpful and extremely courteous. They will carry your purchases to your vehicle. Prices are competitive. The selection is decent to good, depending upon what you are looking to buy. We love the store. Its homegrown- part of Chico. And they have certified weight scales for cars and pickups. We love our NSM.

Fair priced

We went to North Star Mills yesterday to get pellets for my pellet stove. Usually I buy a ton but since Im getting older its harder for me to unload the truck. So this time I only got half ton. Which is 25 bags. When I got home and unloaded the truck there was only 24 bags. Im not driving all the way back there for a $5.00 bag of pellets. But I just want you to know I will be taking my business somewhere else. I dont appreciate being taken advantage of by two young boys just because Im old. This is not ok.

They have some pretty good prices on dog food, especially on the Taste of the Wild brand. The only other place I found with the same brand was TSC, and their prices were higher! They also have a good amount of organic feed, and most anything else you need for your animals.

After Camp Fire in Paradise--I had no place other than going all the way to Red Bluff to get my puppy his special food.I went in and talked to Northern Star.They looked through all the donations people had given but puppys special food was not there.I was told We will order it for you So you wont have to go all the way to Red Bluff Any more.Thank you !! now I know we can keep my puppy well

Lots of pet supplies and food, gardening supplies. This is a long time locally owned store near downtown Chico and CSU right across the Esplanade from Bidwell Mansion. Sorta like stepping back in time, the staff knows more about growing and raising animals than you, guaranteed.
