Great beer selection. If you have never seen inside a brewery this place is wide open to view. No food is inside the establishment but the food trucks that pop up here are dank. There is a little outside area to kick back and drink too. The bartender needs a little training on how to pour a beer as well as customer service but all and all I like this brewery. Pretty good deals and specials as well as discounts for military or first responders

First and foremost, I have to give credit to the amazing service that I received from John! The kombuchas on tap are super fresh and delicious. Theres plenty of space & the food truck has some good options. Affordable and they have specials for all patrons. Military on law enforcement on Sundays! Half of Growlers on Wednesday, suggest that day to come and fill up the grapefruit IPA. And as I post this on a Monday Id like to emphasize on all night happy hour. Sold.

Nice to have something a little different in eastern Chula Vista. This brewery has 25 different taps but they come out with a different flavor every week or so. I like the Carnival IPA. It has great flavor and isnt bitter. The Chula Pils is the winner at the 2016 World Beer Awards for the USA. The bar is small but plenty of seating through out. This place can get full around 6-7pm. I recommend coming here if you want to relax and throw a couple down to unwind with friends.

First time here ( a little dead, but of course it’s a week day Thursday afternoon Sept. 12, 2019 around 5:30....ish . ) Not a bad brewery establishment l. Just my opinion. The main Bar area I thought was kind of small. I expected a big open space with all kinds of seating area. I felt they could’ve invested more on that, instead of taking up all that space to showcase their beer tanks!!! Other than that, great service from the bartender ( he was very attentive ).

Brazilian brewery nestled in the industrial area of East Lake. Came here for the first time on a Tuesday evening after mountain biking in Jamul with some friends. Apparently this is a popular spot for cyclists as evident of the many customers adorning recreation attire, and bike racks out front. Theres a small seating area with a taco stand outside, as well as additional tables and chairs inside as you pass through the brewery warehouse. After you pass through the distillery and dining area, you finally reach the back of the customer line that leads up to the bar. Behind the bar is the menu of the current beer offerings and 2 televisions. The wait wasnt long, maybe 10 minutes, and after we grabbed our beers we returned outside because the inside dining area was very crowded. The place is family friendly with young children abound. Once outside, we ordered some tacos (el pastor and beef variety which ranged $3 to $4 each) which were made to order. Aside from the crowded parking and seating, the overall experience was good. I very much enjoyed hanging out with my friends over tacos and beer while reviewing our biking trip, and planning the next ride. BTW, I found out the reason this is a popular spot for cyclists is because there used to be a Trek bike shop next door. It has since moved, but cyclists still return to Novo.

I’m not one to be harsh so I will say that this place has a lot of potential but also a lot of work to doI ordered a glass of house Chardonnay which I saw was 10.00 for a 5 oz glass so I asked if there was a double or something. The girl behind the bar told me that if I wanted another glass I could order another one for 10.00. After taking a closer look at the menu I realized that they did offer a decantaur which was 4 glasses for 30.00 which was not mentioned when I asked if there was a double or something.Someone, no one can tell who is who behind the bar . There are more than 10 People back there all dressed differently. But when I ordered food and brought the wine situation to apparently the right persons attention, he did take off the 10.00 for the initial glass and got just the 30.00 for the remaining glasses of the decantaurNow all of that is excusable and I wouldnt even mention it except that when I checked out the guy said to me, and this is actually what he said, “ boy you sure drink a lot”!It’s sad because the place has potential but I will never be back there.Good luck future patrons

Make sure you refrigerate Kombucha at all times. I didnt and the can exploded in my cabinet. While exploding cans arent ideal, the owner did the right thing and helped compensate me for the damage done, and updated the labels to reflect the issue with a better warning. Again, product must be keep refrigerated at all times. 4 Stars for doing the right thing.

Whenever Im in the location I make it a point to stop by right here due to the fact that the beer is cold, yummy and inexpensive. This is a massive place however the real tasting area is not that big. The times I have actually been there the bar tenders were awesome but I actually like Paula well I assume that was her name. This is virtually the only brewery in the location so it can get pretty hectic right here. The ambiance here is great and relaxed plus they have some cinemas TVs. They have a bit of everything from IPAs to Kombucha. Seeing exactly how this is the only brewery in the location they run out of beer often so maintain that in mind. I such as coming right here and also will certainly make this a pit quit whenever Im around.

Never forget that you can ask for samples to make sure you will like what you get! I want to start by saying that Novo Brazil has a truly astonishing way with fruit. They dont use extracts, and they dont use anything artificial. They use all real pressed fruit, and you can truly tell. The fruity flavors are so true to the actual fruit. I have never had any other like fruit infused beer like it. I love this place.Novo Brazils Mango IPA. Very smooth subtle Mango flavor that quickly disappears and turns into a crisp hoppy bite. Very delightful. We just discovered this brewery today, and were pleasantly surprised. Normally I dont like a fruity IPA, but this was masterfully crafted!Novo Brazils Copacabana IPA is honestly one of the crispiest, lightest IPAs I have tasted that still carries a punch of 6.9%. ive found that a lot of people dislike the hoppy full flavored IPAs and get turned off from them, and thats a damned shame. Not all IPAs are like that, and the Copacabana is the perfect IPA for somebody who prefers something more mild.Novo Brazils Novo Glory(discontinued) carries not only a crisp taste, but a very pallet expanding, flourishing, wholesome taste. The light purple color is very alluring, and it may be my new favorite beer, but I havent tackled the whole menu yet. Ive stuck mainly to the IPAs, however I will also be reviewing others. The Novo Glory is an amazing choice to start with for those just discovering this amazing brewery!Novo Brazils Toasted Coconut IPA(small batches.) Is more amazing that I could have ever thought. It was creamy, full flavored and truly delicious. I cant wait for it to be crafted again, because it is something that everyone must try. Even if you dont like coconut, I have a feeling that you will still love the beer.Novo Brazils Ipanema Grapefruit Double IPA is quite frankly superb. It has a full flavored bitterness that resembles drinking actual white grapefruit juice, and I couldnt be happier. ABV8.3% IBU72. Novo Brazils ability to infuse fruit into beer while maintaining the full flavor of the fruit astounds me. It is so balanced that it makes even my wife who typically doesnt drink beer, drink it as if she is drinking a cider. It is a double IPA that isnt only for the people who want a hoppy punch. It goes far beyond that.#craftbeer #chulavista #ipa #novobrazilNovo Brazils Kombucha selection is now up to five different flavors. The Mango Ginger is my personal favorite due to the light bitter taste that it has. It is a perfect balance of sweet and bitter that leaves your taste buds content while crackling under the carbonation. Try one out and find one that suits you. Dont be arraid of ordering a Kombucha when out with friends. They are delicious, and Ill continue to review them:Peach Passion fruit Kombucha: the peach in it leaves a very full, completely encompassing taste that pervades ever corner of your mouth, whereas the passion fruit hits your tongue so sharply. You first taste the passion fruit leaving a very prevalent flavor, and then your pallet is actually refreshed by the peach flavor following. Every sip is an experience that blooms throughout the entire glass. The orange Kombucha is my new new favorite, because every time I try a new flavor, it finds a way to dig into my heart to where I simply cant decide. Its truly almost like drinking a mimosa, but it tatses better. Why would people drink mimosas anymore when drinks like this are being crafted? I urge you to start drinking their Kombucha, because it would only encourage them to continue to make more and more for me to try!The Hibiscus Lavender is meant for those that want a very aromatic, and dry beverage. It makes for a great evening Kombucha, because it isnt sweet and fruity. It is a flavorful, dry, crisp drink that is amazing to sip throughout your evening. The Acai Guarana Kombucha really hits the back of the tongue while seemingly avoiding the front. Its very light and refreshing, and you can drink it all night without feeling overwhelmed by sugary sweetness.

All the beers that I tried were spot on for their styles, and there were some very spectacular ones as well. My wife and I both agreed that the bourbon-barrel aged quadruppel was worth every penny that they were charging. Not cheap, but if you want cheap beer you should stay home and drink budweiser. Review №96

So this review is long overdue. My friend (50+ years old) with his wife (50+ years old) and I visited Novo Brewing off of my recommendation so we visited the location in Eastlake in Chula Vista. We each ordered our 2nd beer when the power when out (completely out at about 5pm) for about 2 hours. We finished our beers when both of us went up to the bar to order another drink. They told us that the kegs didn’t work (which didn’t make sense since they operate on CO2 and not on electrical power). So we asked if they could serve the cans in the refrigerator right over the counter but they STILL said no which was very weird to me. My friend, his wife, and I went back to the table to finish off our beers. Once complete, my friend was ready to go home knowing full well that they weren’t serving anymore but he, his wife and I were ready to have another beer but Novo was NOT able to support. I escorted my friend out to his car even though they were ready to continue having a good time and told him I don’t understand why they are doing this when, to me, I thought this was a good opportunity for them to gain clientele since I had worked in the food and beverage industry for 9 years but he decided to leave since he had had enough Novo. When I approached the bartender and asked about purchasing a beer they told that they were serving (even though they had told me that they weren’t serving) at normal price which came out to $7.69 (or so). $0.69 cents….. Mind you this is STILL on a day where they didn’t have power and could NOT process any monetary transactions via credit card whatsoever!!! It was strange that they didn’t offer something simple like $5 per beer. I have been to 3 other places where something like this happened and they either called “free drinks” or “happy hour” for their customers and this place called NEITHER which was shocking (yet, not so shocking)!!! They didn’t even have the common decency to have beers at something like $5 a piece or 1 for $7 or 2 for $10, or 4 for $20…. something easy that can accommodate a cash flow when the power is OUT and credit cards cannot be accepted. This speaks volumes to their customer service. Something like this or anything is what a decent customer would ask for BUT what does the owner tell me when he’s been listening to our entire conversation and I approach him on it…. “so you know more about customer service and running a brewery than I do!” This is absolutely NOT what I was expecting. I was not in any way shape or form being rude, obnoxious, OR asking for anything free. In fact, when the owner asked me what I wanted and he’ll give me anything I want which was out of spite I declined because my friends had left and I wasn’t looking for anything for free especially out of sporadic response. I thought I found a neighborhood brewer but that is not the case. I have told friends about It and plenty of those in the military. My friends who are regulars have told me that they will not go there anymore. Besides there are too many other better options. Breweries I have been to since: Little Miss Brewing x3, Coronado Brewing Company x2, Kensington Brewing, Mission x2, Groundswell x4, Karl Strauss x3, etc… you get my point. I DO NOT go their based on their customer service. I had 5 friends visit from out of town in San Diego and I didn’t think twice about NOT taking them to Novo especially since I took all of them to a brewer here in San Diego. I get 90% off deals and I still don’t go there. Their beer is overpriced anyway. I don’t buy it even when it’s on sale at BEVMO.
