Never ever take any automobile to this shop. The owner is highly unprofessional, rude in the way he talks to his customers and seems to not care at all about customer service. My wife and I have called the Chula Vista Police Department 2 times on him because of his egregious, unethical and potentially illegal ways of doing business. Do yourself a favor and find another shop where you will receive professional, respectful service at a fair price, with a detailed list of work to be be performed and provided with no surprises. Horrible horrible experience here!!!

I have been looking for a honest and reputable Auto Mechanic in the southbay area who has experience and expertise with German automotives. Thumbing through yelp I ran into 829 Auto and was very glad I stopped by. Matthew the owner was very patient to explain to me the process of getting my car Carbon Cleaning. He led me into the back and showed me what he uses as a product and as a device to get out this carbon build up often seen on these Audi 2.0 turbo motors. Hes so honest that he even showed me videos of the machine exhausting the cleaner out of my car. It shows you the integrity of this guy. He is very well versed in everything from normal maintenance to high performance tuning. I have been spending time and money driving my car up north as far as an hour to get a good reliable mechanic that knows German Cars. I will be taking my cars here from now on as long as hes here. I bought a used car with adjustable coilovers and was unable to adjust the ride height myself. Found 829 on Google. You can and should believe the 5 🌟 reviews. My X3 had fallen into a state of disrepair the dash was lit up like a holiday tree. Matts meticulously worked on each issue shutting each light down. All the while he discussed cause effects and repair options with us. Its a few weeks now since the repairs, my car is running perfectly! The dash is dark less the Beemer orange glow. Honest, reliable, fairly priced mechanics are a rare find, Matt is a gem! Never in my life did I️ think I️ would be able to find an auto repair spot that would accommodate my schedule. I️ usually have to do my car repairs on my only day off and waste half the day. Matt is incredibly friendly and really makes me feel good about bring my truck to be worked on. His prices are incredibly fair and he even goes the extra mile by volunteering to show me the parts hes replaced and has even taken photos of different things. I made an appointment with Matt to bring a card to him to inspect that I was buying from a dealership. I do not live around here so I wanted to make sure that everything was OK with the car before I bought it. Matt was very professional and knowledgeable about his job. And less than five minutes he brought to my attention that the car had been in an accident and had been rear ended. The Carfax from the dealership said that it was not in any accidents. Needless to say I did not purchase that vehicle thanks to Matt. If I lived in this area I would bring my vehicles to Matt for repairs because he is honest, reputable and knows his business.

Matt is very knowledgeable and does phenomenal work. It can be difficult to find a trust worthy mechanic. Thankfully my search for a competent mechanic is over. I drive a 2018 WRX Sti and all of my future maintenance, upgrades and auto work will be done here from now on. Matt is straight to the point and does not try to do unnecessary work. Matt has been taking care of our cars for several years (long before he ventured out on his own with 829 Auto). We have always found him to be immensely knowledgeable, professional, and honest ( a trifecta difficult to find in the world of auto mechanics). As a younger female who recently became a car owner, I’ve encountered an overwhelming amount of shady and disrespectful mechanics. Thus, I never felt comfortable going to the mechanics alone because I have been taken advantage of, lied to, and talked down to due to my appearance and age.That is, UNTIL I found Matthew ’s shop. I was instantly taken aback by his transparency and his nonjudgmental nature. He was efficient in his work and I left his shop feeling a new found confidence in my car.For the past month or so, I’ve been running into a lot of unfortunate issues with my car and Matthew handled every encounter with the same care and attention as the one before. His dedication for what he does and his genuine honestly really says something about the business that he runs. You can expect absolutely NO bs. For starters, I had my car “professionally” diagnosed by Volkswagen specialists and they missed an obvious fault in my car that was causing sluggish acceleration. Within seconds of popping my hood, Matthew was able to point out what they had missed entirely and resolved the issue. He even went as far as to physically show me what the issue was and explained what he did to mediate it.If you’re sick and tired of dealing with subpar and deceitful mechanics, I highly recommend going to Matthew’s shop. I had my coilovers installed here. Matt was professional, stuck to his quote, and made height adjustments to my suspension a week later at no extra charge. Great local performance shop, highly recommended.

My exhaust pipe started hanging off onto the road in the middle of the night on the interstate. I was towed to a different shop but after a bit of searching I concluded that 829 was the best shop in the area and limped here instead. Matt did a terrific job at a very reasonable price and helped me with a lot of other problems the car had.

(Sorry Matt had to use my sons account lol because mine was acting a little crazy but that should show you how much I wasnt going to miss writing this review lol its me Jessica Noble)......Any way I searched high and low for a great mechanic and kept running into jerks!! There was a crazy rattling noise coming from under my car and I even went to another place and they convinced me that it was my muffler and after the muffler was changed the sound remained. Once Matt checked my car he discovered that it was lose bolts.Unbelievable! He tightened them up for me and changed my oil! Matt was very honest and made me feel reassured that he could help me with my car and that he was trustworthy. Not one time tried to get money out of me!
