Good service and even though its take 2 hours but it worth a wait
This place is awesome!! They are honest and professional!! I was told about 6 months ago that I would need to replace my rear brakes and rotors at a cost of almost $600.00. Since I have not been able to work that could not happen. I took it in the morning and Mike said the pads and rotors are still good for now and maybe need to be replaced in about 6 month or so. This a Great Honest place and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!! See you guys in about 6 months and Thank You!! - Anthony -
I pulled off my tires over the weekend to check my brake pads & rotors to see if they needed to be replaced. Rotors were fine and pads were as well but I wanted new pads for an upcoming road trip.Took my car in to have new pads installed, and without even pulling off the tire, I was told that my rotors were warped. The customer ahead of me was told the same thing. I asked the person behind the counter if he had taken the wheel off to see the warped rotors and his response was No, you can just see through. Id really like to know how he could just see without even pulling off the plastic hubcap. My Grandpa had followed me over to give me a ride home, so he witnessed this guy basically check my mileage and walk around and look at the wheel.Absolutely would be very wary of this place trying to tell you work needs to done that doesnt actually need to be done.
Literally the most honest mechanic Ive ever met in my life. I trust mike with my life. (hes really cute too. thats not related to the quality of his work, but still.) I tell him and everyone I know hes so honest I dont know how he stays in business.
Best place to get your brakes done hands downAsk for Mikey
Mike is awesome. Great work, fast and reasonably priced.
Mike was able to take care of my replacement of rotors and brakes in only a couple hours. He and his team did a great job and would and will recommend anyone needing services done on their vehicle to call them and they’ll take care of you...
I dont think this is a good place do you have anything done. I was married to a mechanic and I know how certain things are done. This place lied and tried to sell me something I didnt need. Told me I had to have it done. I would not recommend this place at all to anyone
Great Experience, Professional and Prompt Service.
I will never take my vehicles to another mechanic again. These guys are the best around, period. No pressure, always honest, they even stayed open an extra 20 mins on Christmas Eve to wait for me to pick up my vehicle after I got off work. Much more than just brakes. I highly recommend.
Michael was awesome. Great service. I will definitely go here if I need any work done. 👍Hes very handsome too. 😂
Not only are the people friendly and informative. The shop is clean. They are very fast and efficient. The pricing is very reasonable. I would recommend River City Brakes to everyone.
The most fair, reliable work... They do everything except tires and alignment. Over the last several years, theyve done my brakes, full synthetic oil changes, even replaced my whole A/C. LOVE these guys!
Very nice and honest. Will definitely recommend to others. Quick too👍
Honesty. The gentlemen that helped me was super honest an told me I didnt need to fix my car at this time it was still good and told me what to listen and check for when I do need to have my brakes replaced. Love the honesty.
Very reasonable for brakes. The gentleman who waited on us was very nice and easy to work with.
Michael is one of a kind, from the start was honest and told me i didnt need a brake job after i bought his groupon. Told me to refund it. Ive never seen someone in the automotive industry (private or corporate) NOT try and swindle people for their money. Ive been comming back ever since then for small or large car maintenance or problems. I 100% recommend his business and value his honesty, it makes for return customers
I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will list the pros and cons below, with pictures attached to prove why I find this place dishonest.Pro: Bought a Groupon for $89 towards front and rear brake pads with installation. I went in knowing I needed new rotors because they vibrated upon braking. Mike gave me a quote on how much it would cost to replace all brake pads and rotors. Service was good and quick (out in 2 hrs). Mike also gave me a call back from my missed call for an appointment, which was nice. One star for calling me back quickly and one for seemingly quality work (only time or inspection by someone with more experience than me, can tell)Con: Besides the positive points, I was overcharged and deceived. The reason for that is in the quote, the costs for both front and rear pads plus installation are $200 ($40 for each set + $120 total for installation = $200). The Groupon discount on the written quote only gave me $160 off ($40 off parts + $120 off labor), which means I had to pay an extra $40 for a set of brake pads that I already paid for with Groupon. Also, the final price on the Groupon says $259.90 value, which is basically a lurinf scam as you can see from how much parts and labor to replace all brake pads come out to be ($200).I didnt realize this until I went home and check the billing. I live 30 minutes away and I trusted the reviews that this place is trustworthy and affordable. Highly recommend that you reach out to your family and friends for a reliable mechanic.Update: 3 months in the the front brakes are wearing unevenly and theres reduced rotor to pad surface area contact due to poor quality brakes. The brakes dont stop as quickly as my stock ones did due to reduced braking surface. I went by to the shop the day following my previous review and the owner said it was normal. I guess thats a perfect answer if you want to lose customers because I am warning my friends, family and everyone who reads this review to stay away from this shop at all costs.
I didnt end up needing work on my brakes, but they were honest about it. They checked everything for free and gave me great advice. I will bring my cars to them for everything from now on!
Very very weird location. I was a little unnerved when I pulled in as it seemed super sketchy. However, their owner is a nice guy and very friendly. They checked on my brakes and rotors and found out I needed both replaced (I had only come in for brakes) and did it in excellent time. You do need to call ahead (I dont think they do walk ins) but they are pretty good in my opinion.
Ive never seen such integrity in a car shop. I have been treated with the best quality service by Mikes shop Ive ever had from anyone for years now and I will always go to them for minor questions with my car, to major repairs because I know they are not in business to screw their customers. They appreciate me and all their customers by being completely transparent and upfront with their timing, service and ability to work with any special circumstance. Ever since I found them, Ive recommended them to everyone I know!
Mike will always get my business. Its a bit of an oxymoron, but he truely is an honest mechanic! He has told me that I did NOT need brakes on a few occasions. It also doesnt hurt that hes pretty damn good-looking 😉
The mechanic was excellent. Brakes done quickly and my car drives great once again. They were fair in pricing and didnt try to sell me things I didnt need. Gave me a heads up with what Ill need in a few months. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I didnt care too much for the front desk young lady. Dry and not personable at all. But still a wonderful experience and I will definitely go back
RIP off con artists told me my pads were good, rotors needed replaced. Okay, check the carb while youre down there. That was the most insulting trip to the mechanic. Very dishonest practice and dont let them tell you the rotors are bad without a 2nd opinion. Bye, Felicia!
An honest shop!Weve been taking all our vehicles there, even since their Carmichael days.Good, prompt service. These guys know their job. Thanks Mike!!
Great service as always the crew is great. Mike and Mike owners are up front about issues with your vehicle and what needs to be done. Will have no one else work on my vehicles.
I have 3 vehicles I have brought to River City Brakes for various services. Most recently a transmission maintenance service on our buick and again a fair price for great service - honest. Each time it amazes us the honesty and integrity in this business is a rare find. I would definitely recommend this business for auto services and will bring my vehicles to them whenever needed. My husband knows that when we need service River City Brakes is our best honest and fair business.
This place came highly recommended by several members of my local NextDoor group. Thought my truck needed new brakes, but turned out that it needed a new master cylinder; they got me right in, as scheduled. Would give 5 stars, but waiting room was incredibly COLD (it wasnt very warm outside, but after 11:30, it was warmer than inside!).
I only went to Mike because I had a Groupon. He told me I had 20% left on my brakes, my rotors were warped and I needed a new wheel. He doesnt do wheels so he had me buy one and told me to take it somewhere for the wheel and to come back to him for my rotors and brakes. I took it to get the wheel put on a few days later and they told me I didnt need a new wheel. They showed me that the wheel was bent, but barely, my brakes were metal on metal, wearing through. I needed new rotors and a tire on the back. They did all of this for a fraction of what Mike quoted me even with the Groupon. Im so glad I found out when I did. When I called to cancel my appointment with River City, Mike was extremely rude and condescending. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else.
Great prices and quality work
Honest and fast service.
My wife and I both have taken our vehicles to River City Brakes for nearly 4 years now, I can honestly say that the quality and caliber of staff make all the difference in the world, this shop knows how to treat a customer, and a vehicle too. So grateful for Mike and his guys, top notch act.
I was very happy with their service on my brakes. When I drove off it felt almost like a new truck. I will return for future service.
Went there with a living social deal. They walked us through their pricing and the cost of materials, which we take appreciated since its easy to feel ripped off with mechanics. Staff was all very helpful and professional.
Very good place and nice person.I got my brakes inspected for free.Lifetime brakes maintenance with a low price, that is the place I will go from now on.
These guys are the only Mechanics I trust. The only problem Ive run into is wanting them to do things they arent specialists in. They are honest and trustworthy. They will take a look for you and tell you if they can fix it or not and they will recommend a straightforward course of action if whether or not they are the ones who can do the work. Theyve done work for me in the past and theyve also told me they couldnt do certain things and recommended I go to other shops for specific things. I cant say enough because I hate the speedy oil shops who always try to scam me into buying air filters or somehow managed to improperly reinstall my oil drip plug so that my drip pan gets ruined. River City breaks is the only shop I trust. Bottom line.
O.K. - I gave a great review 3 years ago - and guess what? Its only gotten better. Folks, I have no idea whos complaining around here but dont listen to them--these guys are some of the best mechanics in the business and honest as the day is new. Every customer I ever sent to them has been absolutely pleased and keep coming back - so, after 3/4 years now...whatever theyre doing, theyre doing it for the right price and theyre fast and VERY efficient at what they do!Mike and Michael are a couple of guys that are so refreshingly honest that doing business with them is an absolute delight - I would not hesitate to recommend their services - THEY WILL TELL YOU LIKE IT IS and do not stretch the truth - they do not overcharge people, are always courteous and totally professional in their dealings. I would have to say that their rates are more than reasonable and they stand by their work - I have four cars - I left the dealership and started having them do all my regular maintenance, as well as extra maintenance of water pumps, fuel pumps, breaks, etc. Enjoy the experience - oh, and they stand by their work!DWK
Been going here for years. The owner Mike takes care of and answers your automotive needs. They do not hurt your pocket book on repairs
I have been going to River City Brakes for years. My whole family also goes there. We could not ask for a more reliable, honest and competent place to take our vehicles. Thank you Mike!
DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!! I know about mechanics . I bought a Groupon for $89 when I got there they were supposed to give me a free inspection, didnt even pull my wheels off just put it up in the air told me I needed new brake pads, new rotors, new drums, new shoes new hardware wanted to charge me another $350 on top of the $89 I paid for Groupon, totally BOGUS, I went to Brake Masters right after listening to them try and sell me stuff I knew I didnt need and got my brakes inspected I also inspected it and all I needed was front brake pads nothing more the whole job cost me $129 plus tax .
Was told I needed front and back rotors replaced. Wasnt true had my car checked by 2 different mechanics prior to visit. Rotors are good. Just trying to add extra cost to bill. Got a refund from Groupon. Will never recommend this business.
Mike and his team fixed my brakes and had me on my way in record time. I also had them do the clutch on my truck and the price was $800 cheaper then any other shop quoted me!!
Dont do it. Took our truck here in 2013. They striped out two of the calipers and filled it with lock tight without saying anything. Cost an extra 350 to have them replaced. We had a lifetime warranty on pads and when we called about squeaky brakes the girl on the phone diagnosed it as the rotors(which it wasnt). All these things combined made us seek a new mechanic who did a great job and saved all the parts rcb ruined to show us the problem.
Mike is a good guy.
Their is a strait forward Ness no bs you can trust these people no games . A little hard to find but well worth it.
Great service and prices
Fast and great service. Very professional. Will return for other truck needs.
Ive been here previously back in 2013 for my brake pads using their groupon deal. I came back a few days ago again using their deal from groupon. Theyre also super courteous and fast! I called last Friday expecting them to not have any openings and they were able to fit me in for a Tuesday morning appointment. I ended up needing to have all four of my rotors done rather than my brake pads and they not only honored the groupon deal but gave me the best deal possible and I was in and out in less than two hours! River City Brakes are honest people which is big in my books when it comes to auto repairs, I definitely recommend them! Thank you!
I was going to buy the groupon for $49(job regularly $129)for a front or rear brake pad replacement. In case the rears needed to be replaced, I called to see how much they charge to do a brake job mike(the manager) said $69 (not $129). Then I asked how much it would be for rotors if they were no good I was told $40 each. So after I bring my hyuandai mini van in they told me it would be a extra $20 for ceramic pads which most vehicles use these days and no where does it say what specific pads it just says does not include specialty vehicles. I never would have considered a mini van a specialty vehicle.the rotors would be $90 each plus $40 each to install. I asked very specific questions to avoid this from happening. I feel mike is misleading and Price gouging. I would not send my grandma there for fear Mike would rip her off. Rotars are $50 and it takes about 20 minutes extra to change out if you are already going to do the pads. And his customer service was horrible. He basically told me he didnt have 2 minutes to explain what the diagnostic meant because he had to take care of a paying customer since I decided he wanted to much for the job.
Great service, good work!
Worst service ever...EVER! My wife went into River City Brakes to get her front and rear brake pads replaced. They performed a free inspection not by her request and said they found the radiator to be leaking and needs to be replaced. They printed an estimate and my wife told them she will think about it. On the drive back home, now there is a loud clicking/snapping sound when she slows down to a stop and a burning smell coming from the driver rear tire. I test drove it and experienced the same. When I called I spoke to Mike who is supposedly the owner and he acted as if this was impossible and said that we need to drive the 35 miles back to have them take a look. I understand that things can go wrong and said I will test drive it for the weekend and see how it goes. We left the car in our garage overnight. Today there is a huge puddle of anti-freeze and my wife took a video of the anti-freeze dripping in three spots at a rapid pace from the bottom of the car. Funny how this never happened before River City Brakes did their free insepection. When I called, Mike answered again and when I told him what was going on he responded with a What does changing the brakes have to do with coolant. When I asked him Doesnt your inspection involve the radiotor and checking the coolant he said no. Interesting because why would they tell my wife that her radiator was leaking and needs to be replaced if it wasnt part of the inspection. When I asked him then he looked up the work order and saw that. He then proceeds to tell me that they told us it was leaking, but like I said, it never leaked before today let alone a huge puddle and it dripping from the bottom. He refused to acknowlede my concerns. When I asked him for his business license number, he responds by saying Do you hear yourself. Do you hear how your talking. This is the owner of the business. Really. Now he tells me to drive it back with no coolant, a clicking break, and a burning smell. They should stop writing their own reviews here on google and let real customers say what the truth about this shop is. I am going back on monday and will update this post.
I had these guys do brake jobs and oil changes on two cars recently and not only was the service top notch, they also didnt try to up-sell me on a bunch of other services like most other repair shops try to do.I subsequently had some major work done on one of the cars and again, not only was the service and repair top notch, the price they charged me was close to $700 bucks less than the dealer wanted for the same job! They also give a one year warranty on their work which is unheard of.I wouldnt take my cars to any other shop in town....period!
