Clean, quiet, organized. Lots of nice stationery. Drinks werent ridiculously priced. Wish it was closer to campus, but eh.
This is a great little book store! You can find key titles here along with necessary textbooks for school at APSU. There are several areas in which to lounge and enjoy books, along with a Starbucks that has a large number of selections including food and drinks. Love it!
Great visit. Employee s very friendly, and helpfull.
Help was very friendly! Good selection of Peay wear. Clean bathrooms, which is probably TMI. Sorry.
Stopped in after a visit to Austin-Peay. Very clean and associates were helpful.
Great customer service! Nice staff! Very helpful!
Quick friendly and easy to pick up my online order
So friendly, love stopping here for a quick coffee. Not a college kid anymore, but its great to have a Starbucks downtown.
Good items, friendly folks and usual prices
Love the smoothies you can get here.
Not much of a bookstore. Just a few shelves in the back. Mostly, this place is a college clothing store. Nothing special.
Overpriced marxist and socialist books for sale. Nothing else worth our time here.
Great place. Friendly people.
In the past 3 years, Ive always been able to purchase books for class with ease. No issues. Today, I visited the new campus book store and was pleasantly surprised. Its really nice. The energy is warm and I love the selection of books (not referencing course textbooks) that they offer, although the prices are a little expensive. My teen was impressed also. Glad AP chose to extend the use of this establishment to the community.
I can say from being a former employee the Store Manager is unprofessional, unorganized, and unreliable as a Manager for Austin Peay State University Barnes and Noble Bookstore. It took 4 weeks for me to get my incentive pay that they kept giving me the run around for, when I felt like that it could’ve been a quick process. I worked for what I earn and I should have gotten it all together! I am expressing my concern and emotion because it was absolutely ridiculous for a person to endure as much of an hassle as I had to, to get what I should have gotten when I was working there! There should be some type of better training for the managers there. There are a few that satisfies that position.
A very pleasant little place to visit. Extremely clean and pretty much everything a student will ever need.
Great staff and even better location now
Rude staff and very little choices.
This is a nice store great for our local college students
So nice and informative and great ideas
Love the expanded space with lots of more book genres and options to read. The Starbucks there is really good and has more food options than those of the Starbucks at the APSU Library. The only unfortunate thing is that they do not take Starbucks gift cards or student meals plans. Ive also heard bad stuff about people not getting their textbooks on time or still not recieving them yet, so if youre able to Id find another place to get your textbooks (as theyd also probably be cheaper to get them somewhere else depending on what it is)
The new store looks great! The staff is friendly and always willing to help
People were helpful and I was in and out quickly
I ordered a book on August 23rd for class. Book was not shipped until August 29 and did not arrive until September 2nd. Too late, class had already started. So I purchased the e book version of book and was going to return the physical copy for refund. I have called 7 times and sent 2 emails to get instructions for a return. No one answers the phone, no way to leave voicemail, and no response to email. And I’m sure there is a small window for returns. No customer service available to help with online orders or return.
First time in the store since the move...I love it.
Wonderful place to get everything you need friendly staff.
Ive tried emailing them several times asking when to expect my order since I placed it over a week ago. They refused to answer the emails I sent. But keep sending me emails saying I need to order my books. So, I called them and she quickly said theyll process orders next week and hung up.Ontop of this they have the wrong book I need for class on file but the professor is going to make it work instead of having us waste money because the bookstore dont know what they are doing.Managers are rude and they do not want to help get tou the course materials. I ordered my materials around the first week in August. When it came time to fill it they would only fill half the order and refused to fill the other half. There customer service is way worse then any retail store I have been to.
Been over a week since I ordered my books and they still havent got them. But people who walked in have been getting them. Everytime I ask I am given a different answer. Ended up canceling my order. Waste of time.
Not a real bookstore waste of space went looking for a study guide that online said they would have what a joke they have 3 shelves employees are very nice
Shop around for books and access. Not receiving a call for ordered books was one indicator, but the lack of support and tone from the manager is unprofessional. Talking down to students/customers is unacceptable. As an non-traditional student who also has a child as a current student at APSU, I would advise going through Chegg, Studymaster, or Amazon. Save your money and get better service.
I was a late registrant for an online course (it was full prior to the late registration period). The course (HIST 2020) requires the textbook, so I ordered it from the bookstore and paid for overnight shipping. The book was shipped the next business day, but did not arrive. This was UPS fault, not the bookstores. Finally, two business days later, I called the store (30 minutes prior to closing time on Friday) and asked if I could have a refund. They refunded my money and told me I could come in on a Saturday to pick up a copy of the book. I arrived about ten minutes after the store opened, only to be told no copies were in stock. I am -highly- dissatisfied by this customer service failure as I work full-time and have an assignment due Sunday night. If the representative simply took the time to check and ensure that there were copies in stock, or better yet, HELD one for me if they truly did sell out in the half-hour window that they were open between my phone call and actually arriving on premises, this could have been avoided. I could have simply over-nighted a book from another vendor and been able to complete my work on time. Unsatisfactory customer service--just order your books from Amazon.
Nice and clean place
Purchased a few items on clearance last week. The items did not fit and when I called over the phone to check how long I had to return the items I was informed since the items were clearance I would be unable to return them even with the receipt. When I went down in person they were able to refund the items no problem.
Its good to get college textbooks, but is very expensive. Some of the stuff that you can buy here you can buy cheaper at Walmart or a gas station. Love it here otherwise.
The associates were extremely helpful! Everyone continued to ensure I was finding what I needed. Checkout was also a breeze even though I was using financial aid.
Out of many sizes in many selections. Good variety however. Came away with some good buys. Would recommend as a place to shop.
They say they will match textbook prices from elsewhere but they only do that for like two book sellers - the most expensive ones. Very friendly and helpful staff. Find cheap used textbooks on Amazon. Order them at least a couple weeks before your classes start. Keep in mind that your instructor might change text books on you at the last minute.
Dont buy any textbooks here unless no other choice even rentals overpriced. Fine deals on supplies though.
After the semester starts the book store is closed to browsing and students are required to go through the help desk to find a text book. The assistant at the desk has no desire to help you find the book you need and acts insulted when you do not have an isb or course number readily available. The current system is bloated, inefficient, and just plain dumb. The amount of time it would take me to find the book I would to purchase is so much faster than asking the lazy entitled help desk person to do their job. Good thing I can order and price compare from my phone.
It’s not bad I guess, but sometimes your only option for some obscure book your professor wants you to have. Everything is expensive from the t-shirts to the books.
Great place to buy everything for class in one place. Sometimes it gets really busy, so ordee your books ahead and just pick them up.
I ordered a printer that was available to ship in one day. That was a week ago, its still saying available to ship in one day on the site, I needed the printer 2 days ago AND repeated calls and emails have gone ignored when Ive been trying to cancel my order and get something they actually have. This is ridiculous.
Good selection of everything a college student needs but a little pricey
Everything I needed was in stock and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Love it! Was able to purchase the items I was so hoping for!
Very pleasant customer care. No issues, in and out in less than 10 mins.
Do not get your books here. Definitely dont rent them here either. They charge at least twice as much for the same books you can get anywhere else. Theres a much better bookstore just down the street that will actually give you great customer service and a fair price. I rented a used book here and they never sent me any notice when it was due, then they charged me full price as if it were a new book and told me they couldnt do anything about it because it was their parent company Folletts rules. When i called the parent company (Follett) they said it was the stores policy. Neither one would supply my actual signed rental agreement.
If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst service Ive ever come across. I have called the store seeking information on books I ordered 5 business days ago at least 100 times. NOT FLIPPIN SOUL ANSWERS! Not even anyone to tell me to hold please. If you can avoid this garbage of a store, do so at all costs.
Neat, well-organized little shop with efficient and friendly customer service. Terrific, if almost overblown, selection of Peay merch and apparel. Pricey, but thats to be expected in a school bookstore. Textbook section had plenty of help. Book prices seemed fairly reasonable relative to these reviews. For comparison to my schools bookstore, I checked the Business (or, MGMT) section. Not a single book above $160 at Peay. Just for my Biz classes this semester, I have a book pushing $360 from my schools bookstore. Its not science, course, but thats eye-opening. For Ann Ross and her store: How yall dont have a onesie says LETS GO PEAY!? You know who to make the check out to.
Been ordering my books through this site for the last few years, never had an issue. This year? Apparently I no longer exist in their system, cant order my books and supplies, and trying to get that resolved has now taken 2 weeks, 19 phone calls and 3-4 emails a day....and I still havent gotten any help. Take your money elsewhere if you dont want to be stressed about a semester before it even starts.
Pro: They match prices on textbooksCon: They NEVER answer the phone.
Great Service
Great place to find Govs apparel. The bookstore also provides new and used textbooks as well as price matching.
I order some Austin Peay clothing from the bookstore. My items were immediately put on back order and then they canceled my order without notice. If the items are on back order please make sure the website has that message. I was really disappointed in the service.
Really sweet and helpful staff.
Best book store for APSU students
Yop but they relocated
The bookstore has any book you need for class however the prices are jacked up compared to what you will find at Study Masters or Amazon
Talk about taking advantage of the college students. They carry a product that we have to have every semester and way overcharge us for it. I am not a fan and I will not shop at another one after I graduate.
Nice high prices.
They can never get anything right. They always mess up my order every semester and its a really big headache. Just order your books on amazon, its cheaper anyway.
Good place nice people
Very helpful and polite employee
Really overpriced. Never honors any deals or coupons, but friendly staff
Great products. Very overpriced.
Worst hours and service. 2 weeks before classes start and they are closed by the time Im done with work. The only time I have is weekends, and they are only open the weekend before classes start. It is too packed to get anything done in such a small store, and it is like a stampede.
Great place, prices are high.
Not a typical Barnes and Noble store, but a very typical university bookstore. No childrens section and a very limited non-curriculum selection. There is an endless supply of classroom required textbooks, office supplies and Austin Peay souvenirs and clothing.
Minimal parking. Mainly for student use as its on a college campus. School supplies and school merch is quite expensive. They have snacks, school supplies, books, and a lot more.
Great Book selection
Any book I need they have it.
Employees are a bunch of sweethearts, manager is snarky and unpleasant.
Books are kind if overpriced, luckily the price check.
A good experience
Great merchandise selection
Most books you need
Very poor service.
Just get your books from Amazon, this place is a joke and will fight you tooth and nail over their price match program.
They overcharge for everything, especially textbooks
Great deals
Friendly environment
Awful service
