The best cup of coffee i ever had and the owners mentioned it was Peruvian. OMG is was amazing. Additionally i had the millet bagel with egg and cheese. Again absolutely amazing. As a health and nutrition advocate this cafe is most amazing and delicious. The family is wonderful as well! Cheers!
I would definitely visit this restaurant again. I would easily give 5 stars for the following:1. Healthy menu, definitely not oily junk food.2. Beautiful water view.3. Inside and kitchen looks clean in general.4. Two young gentlemen working there were friendly.HOWEVER:1. Table wasn’t clean. Tried to clean it but had to call one of the youngsters to clean it.2. The place is run by two young kind gentlemen with what I thought, having limited experience. The one I dealt with definitely needs proper training for anything outside of the norm. I asked for a boiling hot cappuccino with the espresso on the side. He tried his best but couldn’t get it right. Before we left I noticed a couple enter, probably parents of one or both young men.3. The rear part of the restaurant has a small bar that’s being used as a storage area. Not nice.4. Definitely overpriced, but then one has to factor in that their food is organic.5. Lastly, you tip when you pay for your order, not knowing what type of service you are going to get. Tips should be a reward for good service and a great EXPERIENCE, which I paid (tipped) for, but didn’t experience for the above reasons.Just for clarity sake, I own restaurants and a conference venue. I wish the two young men well and hope that they will both one day be very successful entrepreneurs.
I absolutely LOVED the food here!!! Basimos is the ONLY healthy place to have a super healthy well rounded breakfast/lunch that is super healthy vegan/ gluten free.Im so impressed with the smoothies, teas, juices. Im a local and will be coming back every time I come stay on the beach!
There used to be other Basimo locations, but now only one; the references to upstairs and hard to find no longer apply. This restaurant is located in a strip mall at 1261 Gulf Blvd in Sand Key. Well appointed, trendy. Seems pricey given the small portion sizes. The two young guys working there were nice enough, but not necessarily friendly. The food tasted 👍 great.
Currently sitting in the back of the restaurant after ordering lunch and laying books out to study - at the counter the two workers, brothers I assume, are arguing over closing an hour earlier than their posted time, whether or nor their dad would get mad if they left early...while I am sitting right here! Unprofessional, not a great way to make customers feel welcome...I am clearly studying and they are making me feel as though I should leave even though I am a paying customer. A real shame as this cafe has a decent menu and a great location, not to mention its a family owned business which I prefer to support. Owner/father: maybe you should hire more polite, motivated employees, not a great look and I do not think I will be coming back.
This family owned business is fantastic! The avocado toast, mango pudding, and baklava were fantastic! All organic! Relax, take your time, order some good food and enjoy the view.
This place was close to our hotel and we walked over for breakfast 2 days . Great little organic Cafe with a water view. Avocado toast was nice light breakfast, good coffee, and they make a great smoothie. Island espresso was excellent. They even have legit Turkish coffee. The only reason I gave 4 stars was they were out of coconut milk both days I went and for a vegetarian/vegan organic place that would be something to stock up on in case of a soy or almond allergy. They also messed up my order the first time I went but were quick to fix it... resolution makes all the difference. If your in the area definitely give this place a try!!
High quality, quiet, great indoor atmosphere and awesome back deck. Service was great!
This Cafe has a good idea but definitely needs some improvements. When you walk in you immediately smell something that resembles a dirty gym with stale sweat and maybe someone who hasnt showered in a while...not the smell of good food or coffee. It is ran by teenage boys who make a decent latte buy when I ordered the pancakes, eggs and fruit plate I saw them pull out frozen mini pancakes from the freezer and pop them into a convection oven. I paid $14 + $2 tip for a frozen pancake!? I should have stayed at home and toasted my freezer waffle and save at least $12. It took a very long time for my food to arrive and when it came, the fruit they mentioned on the menu is literally one strawberry sliced. I consider this a garnish and not a side of fruit. I would not have thought a lot about the fruit if the pancakes were actually made there. The pancakes were soft raw tasting dough in the middle and crunchy on the edges. Cheap expensive food!Coffee was good but they really need to either adjust their pricing or make the food worth the cost. I definitely felt ripped off.
Absolutely loved it here the food was amazing, lots of vegan options I had the burger it was delicious, spotlessly clean and the staff were delightful, beautiful sun deck out the back overlooking the bay and people inside playing on a checkerboard very relaxing.we also had vegan cakes to finish off would 100% recommend this cafe and definitely return, loved it.
The quality of ingredients is very impressive. Not your typical tourist place even tho located in a strip mall full of souvenir shops. Met the owner and wife, great place
The best cappuccino I ever had.... any the avocado toast is delicious......
I stopped in for takeaway lunch on a Monday at noon and was hoping for something much better. First, they were out of cheese, eliminating the two lunch menu options for kids. Second, it was $45 for a chicken salad sandwich, tuna salad sandwich (both with stale, bottom of the bag crumb chips), and 3 bagels with a dollop of cream cheese for each in a takeaway cups, the dollops too small to spread on the bagels. I quickly realized I wouldn’t have to worry about spreading it since we were given no utensils. From the good reviews, I guess I should have gone for coffee only but I wanted to support a small business during the meal we were nearby for. And while this didn’t bother me, I want to let people who are concerned about masks and COVID know that the counter staff, cook staff, staff sitting and chatting from table and the customers were not wearing masks.
Great little Cafe! The avocado toast was wonderful. The pancakes and parfait were great. Good lattes with a selection of milks to choose from (rarely see this). The smoothie was also quite tasty. The family running the Cafe was incredibly friendly. Wish we would have found this place sooner.
We thought we stumbled into a decent little cafe on the intercoastal, instead we got bamboozled hard. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches on a bagel, with avacado and ham that was really sausage crumbles, and two coffees. Grand total: $45+. It took 15 minutes for the food to be ready, and didnt even come with fruit. Was it worth it? Nope. The sausage crumbles were alright, best part of my meal. Id rather rate this 1 / 5 but then it would get ignored. Go to Dunkin Donuts instead.
Dear Basimo Beach Cafe,I am so sad that the cafe isnt open 24/7, 365 and also in Atlanta... because I would come every single day!!Today I ordered:A vegan, gluten free gingerbread donut- so scrumptious!A sugar free vanilla almond milk cappuccino- I wish I had gotten 2 of them!Vanilla yogurt and granola parfait with honey- tangy and delicious!Hot oatmeal- lightly sweetened with a few slices of banana. While the most simplistic thing I ordered, this was very hearty and filling. I wasnt hungry or snacky the rest of the day! (Breakfast was at 9am, albeit I ate a lot)Basimo, your staff were friendly and delightful. As well as patient, while I hemmed and hawed over the menu.I only managed to snap a quick picture of my cappuccino delight before scarfing everything down, it was so yummy!!Breakfast today was probably the highlight of my semi-annual obligatory trip to visit my father in IRB.Ill be back, Basimo!!!Love, your newest, greatest fan
I love organic and healthy food and this company has a wonderful owner too. If youre looking for a nice treat stop in and see them this is the best cafe in Clearwater area
Fantastic spot! Family run; you can tell they take a lot of pride in their business. Extremely nice, and food and beverages are healthy and delicious!
The food was delicious and the outside seating was definitely a plus! Overlooking the water while eating a healthy meal definitely made my day
Pancakes and eggs were super tasty! It’s hard to find gluten and dairy free pancakes that actually taste good, but they exceeded my expectation. Great quality coffee. The two men working were very accommodating. Definitely a very cute and low key spot.
Have eaten here once before, was good. Went today and two younger guys working, one at register and one preparing food, neither had masks on, nor did the people in front of us in line. Exited the establishment after this realization. I guess the rules don’t apply to this place and as a result, I’ll pass on any future visits.I hope not requiring your employees to wear makes, despite the county-wide ordinance, was worth it!Giving 2 stars instead of 1 since pre-COVID experience was fine
Don’t bother. We were referred here by our host. Big mistake! First off, the menu item prices would reflect a above average experience.I ordered their ‘signature’ breakfast sandwich and sunrise smoothie. I was informed their out of bread; no biggie..., make it a bagel. After waiting 10min; I was brought the smoothie and told they were out of mango, but substituted pineapple. Another few minutes went by and I was informed their out of ham, so they substituted it for chicken sausage. While waiting, the owner left for a grocery run; the employees reminding him to ‘make sure to get everything’.I left feeling like I just got took. I paid a premium price for subpar food. McDonalds offers better service and food.As far as the business slogan ‘Delicious, Local, Organic’; local may be the only accurate part.
Employees were not wearing masks during the pandemic. Prices were far too high for the quality and service. They were out of the yogurt parfait I tried to order, and I believe they have issues with keeping their ingredients in stock. Very disappointed. Do not waste your time.
Very rude owner, food is overpriced, and Maggie Maes is next door. Maggie Maes will always be the better option.
Awfull customer service, the blonde girl on the register was way too slow the food took a long time to come, she was very unpolite, the prices are very high for low quality.
You remember what your food is like on Father’s Day when your kids spend two hours making you coffee toast and a couple eggs. This is “exactly!” That to a T.First sign of a problem was I walk in and at 1030 am on a Sunday “no customers “. Not one. Two young boys working. 17-18 Then I get Avacodo toast. It takes ten minutes comes out on a paper plate and it was the most underwhelming avocado toast I’ve ever had not to mention it was $10.50.This place must be simply a tax write off for someone.Embarrassing!
Amazing coffee...Cafe Con Leche is spot on. Breakfast sandwiches and Avacado on Toast are delicious. Very organic and fresh ingredients. Its a family run establishment, and you can tell. The service is exceptional and warm. The ambiance is a cherry on top. Highly recommend.
It is hard to review because I went in before noon to get what was on the menu for lunch chicken salad in a wrap. When I ordered the chicken salad wrap and the kid at the register said he was out of chicken salad. Then I said ok I’ll take the tuna salad wrap he said we are out of that too. I’m confused it wasn’t even quit lunchtime and your out of everything and there is not a single customer in the cafe???
We got an oat milk latte and a specialty drink. Both were great and the young baristas were very kind. I’d def come back to try more of the menu!
Back again at the Basimo, and I continue to be wowed! I stopped in for coffee a couple of months after they opened, and posted a 5 star review ; Basimo still delivers a superlative beach coffee shop experience! Smiling service in a relaxed atmosphere, immaculate dining areas - both inside and outside on the deck - outstanding coffee and breakfast/lunch items, tidy restrooms, and a place conducive to some serious mellowing. Ill definitely be back for more! HIGHLY recommended.
$26 for1 16oz smoothie..1 old bagel...1 avocado toast..????When you see the quality of the food you will wish you went to dunkin donuts next door and saved yourself time and $$$$
If your looking for a good coffee spot, look no further. Basimo Beach Cafe is a delicious, family owned and operated Cafe. When we first walked in we where greated with warm smiles and the amazing smell of fresh coffee. The owners (which are husband and wife) recommend the Turkish coffee, which was delicious. Will recommend and return for more!
Great place, very good coffee, tasty food, and very friendly staff.
Coffee is good, but they are never open when they say the will be.
Really good coffee! Natural ingredients with eco friendly utensils. Located right on the water. Only downside is the price and portion. Paid $48 dollars for 3 egg sandwiches w/ avocado and 2 coffees.
Good was tasty but its a small Cafe. I gave 4 star as the prices were very high for the quantity. They do have a backwater facing view on board walk.
So happy that we found this cafe! It is so charming and the food is amazing. The entire staff is incredible and knowledgeable and the owner Laurie and her husband and boys are so warm and welcoming. Its our go to favorite place!!! As we say, its a keeper. Jackie and Tony
Good breakfast but very small servings.
Awful service, employees not wearing masks cause it isn’t “required”. Common sense is definitely not common here. Prices way too high for quality of food.
Just went in with a mask and a blonde woman in her 50-60s was talking out loud how it’s unsafe to wear a mask I just got out of the hospital yesterday listening to the Drs. And nurses speak about COVID-19. Plus my bachelors and master in nursing and a masters in public health. So, I wear a mask and know people are sick and dying, but the owner/manager lady was pulling out a book showing how masks are dangerous to our health. I walked out in the middle of my order. Super unsafe and downright uneducated. I think she owns the store and was telling everyone in the store how much she believed that masks are dangerous. Why do surgeons used them when they operate, take your O 2 sat monitor and verify it yourself lady. No thanks— covid-to-go is organic.
Horrible experience. Walked in, no greeting, guys behind the counter were having a conversation between themselves. I had to ask if they were ready to take my order. $15 for a basic breakfast sandwich that took 30 mins and I was only one of three people in the place. After I was served the staff sat down at separate tables on their laptops, could care less about the customers. Thought the owner might want to know.
Delicious real food here!!! Great quality, no fake food and tastes great. (They even serve real maple syrup!) Would highly recommend. A bit pricy but worth it for good food. Service is good and friendly although a bit staggered. We were done with our food before the kids were served theirs. But again, small inconvenience made up for by quality tasty food.
This is the best healthy restaurant in this area! All the others will serve you about the same style of fatty food. Basimo has the perfect organic coffee! The best I have ever had. Their Basimo Sunrise smoothie tastes great! My husband ate a breakfast sandwich and I got an avocado toast. We loved this place.
This place was a little hard to find because the sign was small and the larger one did not have the name Basimo on it, but once found I was glad to have made the choice to try it out.The service was very good with different explanations and suggestions of what to eat.I had the veggie patty sandwich and the veggie patty was awesome! Nice and moist and filling!I also had a coffee cake gluten free, vegan donut, which was also awesome!I definitely would recommend it!A little more on the expensive side, but worth it!
So many options that are healthy and good for the environment. that have both bamboo and metal straws available for public use as well as for sale. Sitting place right up by the water. Perfect for tourists or visitors such as myself. Got the strawberry gogo smoothie and it was delicious. Very please overall.
Visited twice in our week in Sand Key. My family eats clean so when we found his place we were thrilled. Organic coffees, teas, juices and smoothies. Enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal bows...all organic. Gave them four stars only because they were out of something we requested on the two separate occasions we ate there. Otherwise we love it and will return.
Walked up to visit this spot on a whim and so glad we did! The gentleman (owner) at the coffee bar was so friendly. We asked about the Turkish coffee and he told us the whole process and backstory, and how it’s his mother’s recipe. The coffee was outstanding - you MUST sit and enjoy a cup of the Turkish coffee. Beautiful presentation, along with the interesting flavor, in a cozy and adorable setting/atmosphere... it was a great full experience.
They overcharge you,you see on the board one price but they charge you extra $ 3 for the cup of coffee.Beware!
Thank you to the Team at Basimo. Great laid back spot for healthy and fresh breakfast food. Great coffee and a good view surpassed only by the exceptional service. Thank you to Danielle for her attentiveness.
Love this place so much I ate here twice in the same quick weekend trip. All organic. Quiet and sweet people. Yummy and fresh and no 20-minute wait for a table! Thank you, small business owners, for places like this.
What a darling little coffeeshop. Their menu is health conscious, coffee is delicious, and you cannot beat the view. The interior is bright, but cozy. If you need to get some work done or read, this is a great spot.
Great spot!! The coffee is fresh and delicious! Also very clean and airy vibe, great place to work if you don’t want to be in the office. Tasty food as well! You really can’t go wrong with this place.
Awesome service and great people! Definitely would recommend the Turkish coffee if you are a caffeine addict! :)
I like how they say health conscious and promote a healthy life style with their cafe when they do not wear face coverings in the middle of a pandemic. Walked in, saw the one employee not wearing a mask and walked immediately out.
They should really work on their coffee. Why is it so hard to get a decent coffee drink in this part of the country, unless it’s Starbucks? Or has it just been my luck? Good critique and a few changes, and this place could be a gem.
My favorite local coffee spot. They always make delicious coffee . The con leche is amazing. I love the vibes. It is really cute inside. The owner and employees are awesome!
We had a cappuccino and a latte. Both drinks were very good. They use delicious Peruvian coffee. It’s a nice spacious cafe with lots of tables. It’s on a second floor. They also have smoothies and breakfast items. Both owners are very nice and friendly.
This place is amazing! They make the best coffee on Clearwater Beach, and the owner is always happy to prepare it in a special way you’ll definitely like. The food is tasty, healthy and completely organic. ‘Silver dollar pancakes’ are just heavenly delicious. Add cozy welcoming atmosphere, relaxing music and you’ll get the best breakfast and lunch place you can find on the shore!
Would give zero stars if I could. No one handling the food wears masks.
Great Cafe with great family staff. Definitely a great place to work and relax. Took a couple of conference calls and walked out to see the bay between calls! Being from Chicago is hard to find the right place. Im glad I made the drive from Tampa. W
I was staying at a nearby hotel and wanted a different option for lunch. I happened across this place when I looked at google maps. It was close and had good ratings, so I thought I’d give it a chance. I’m very glad I did. The food was excellent. The serving size was just right. I’d definitely come back.
Amazing coffee...Cafe Con Leche is spot on. Breakfast sandwiches and Avacado on Toast are delicious. Very organic and fresh ingredients. Its a family run establishment, and you can tell. The service is exceptional and warm. The ambiance is a cherry on top . We visited this place multiple times during our stay in Clearwater. The kids loved the Pancakes and eggs.
Lovely service for coffee or drinks only. Definitely not a good place for food, poor quality and small portions. Had a a veggie burger, which was a supermarket frozen veggie burger quality heated up on a bagel with chips for $12! Turkish coffee was great, however for $7 it seems more like a Rodeo Drive location than a strip mall in Florida. Probably would not return...
Bathroom spotless!Seriously? A restaurant review which headlines the bathroom? Yes, Ownership obviously cares about the little things. We had a late lunch, so it wasnt busy. Two polite young men were working the counter. Very patient in dealing with some dietary restrictions. Tuna and hummus plates were very good. We were encouraged to ask for more if we needed additional servings. The smoothie, as every comments on, was terrific.
I had a wonderful breakfast sandwich this morning. The eggs were light and fluffy and the bread was an amazing seeded multi grain. Chatted with the owner for a little while about his philosophy of food and was impressed with their commitment to clean organic foods. His wife watches all the ingredients used like a hawk. Menu was full of beautiful looking salads that Im interested to try next time. I saw them making one before I left and the ingredients looked fresh and beautiful
Wonderful little family owned cafe. Run by the sweetest woman with her husband and 2 kids. Love the vibe and the food/coffee is great! Will definitely be back anytime Im in Clearwater!
I specifically hunt out organic coffee and food places so when I saw this one night, I said I have to try it. The owners are friendly, informative, well educated on their products and ingredients and they really care about you. The food is yummy. The atmosphere is comforting and entertaining all in one like you came home to see the family. I absolutely love this place and the people that run it. There are other places I love but their combination of professionalism and service on top of quality ingredients is what steals my heart for favorite.
Overpriced and bland food. We spent 50$ for breakfast bagel (bagel, egg, cheese), super sour juice and kid size pancakes. The tables were dirty... and not sanitized during the pandemic.
Fantastic place for brunch. Clean, beautiful decor, awesome views of the water, friendly and efficient staff. Food was fabulous.
Amazing quality organic coffee and food. The atmosphere is laid back and the service is amazing. We went every morning on our getaway and enjoyed great conversation with Joseph the owner. Drop in. It’s a little hard to find. Second floor location above Hulk Hogan’s shop (it’s hard to miss Hogan’s sign 😂)
Quaint charming breakfast stop for me. Menu is modern and layout of the restaurant is awesome! Enjoy breakfast overlooking the water.
Clearwater Beachs only completely organic cafe! A must try! Fresh juices, all fruit smoothies, many delectable breakfast and lunch options. Basimo also has a state of the art espresso machine (only place for miles). Come chill out by the waterfall in a comfortable, peaceful atmosphere. You will leave feeling amazing and rejuvenated!
Delicious, quality food and great customer service! Highly recommend! Very knowledgeable and helpful if you have any food allergies. Best gluten free bagel ever😊
My first visit to Bacinos was excellent. I had a unique coffee drink made with decaf espresso, almond milk with a touch of lemon. Fantastic. Although I live in South Seminole I certainly will be back.
Wonderful cafe with excellent coffee. I got to chat with the owners about the uniqueness of their shop, and they are very passionate about their product. The Turkish coffee was done authentic and is a recommended treat for something different.
Great coffee, vegan and gluten free options and amazing customer service. My son is picky and didn’t like what he chose first, the owner offered him a few other options to make him happy. Thank you for an overall great experience here! We highly recommend it!
What a GEM!!!The coffee, food, environment, and staff are all awesome!5 STARS ALL AROUND!!!Thank you for a wonderful experience!Sincerely,Vijay, Marlene, Cassia, and Ariel
Fantastic and cozzy place. My cousins from France loved their food and cashier girl was very patient and understanding. Very fast service too. Suggested this place to other people. Enjoyed their avocado on toast.
We were looking for a breakfast place and found this little cafe shop on Google. We thought we’d give it a try. Went there, tried to find a paper menu to sit down and review but didn’t find any. We ended up ordering two bagels with cream cheese, oatmeal and their avocado toast. Our bill was about $26, which seemed reasonable... until we got the food. The food tasted ok, honestly nothing you can’t make at home. And the portions were very small and definitely not worth the price. My husband asked for more cream cheese for his bagel, since there was barely any on his plate and they told him they just ran out. How do you run out of cream cheese out of all things? It wasn’t even 10 o’clock in the morning. I had also asked for my tomatoes since they were supposed to come with the toast and they didn’t. When they gave them to me, they literally gave me 3 cut up cherry tomatoes. I thought the guy was pranking me or something. One positive thing though, the view was really nice, and the day was perfect to sit outside. Hence the two stars. Unfortunately though, because of the overpriced food for the amount given, we will not be back. Sorry, but you lost a potential returning customer.
I got the expresso smoothie - really delicious with high quality ingredients. The people in front of me were overtly vocal about how awesome their coffee and espresso were. This place also offers Turkish coffee. I did not have a bad service experience but both servers were a bit spacey, don’t be in a rush.
