Absolutely awesome place to visit! I have never been to a museum where it is so apparent the owner cares about it and the customer. Steven did a great job, he remembers guests names and makes the tour personal. He has a wealth of knowledge and it’s obvious he loves to share it with everyone. So many cool things to see with great stories and meaning behind them. We learned so much! The gift shop has a lot of cool stuff too and everything is priced reasonably. Some of the best prices I’ve seen in a gift shop.
This place is fantastic and well worth the admission! The owner is very knowledgeable and charismatic and truly made the visit enjoyable. Its a small space, but totally crammed with fascinating artifacts. The gift shop is also bursting with cool trinkets! I was like a kid in a candy store and ended up dropping like $200 on a cacophony of nifty items
The museum curator was honestly the highlight of our trip. Ive been a practicing pagan for a couple years and I can understand why visitors come from states all over. He is so full of knowledge, stories, and secrets. He even shared information I plan on using in my own craft I wouldnt have thought of. I seriously recommend any practitioner visit this museum if theyre able, plus its only $8!! I would have happily paid over $20 for the experience. Curator aside, the museum is filled with really beautiful and unique pieces I was surprised were in Cleveland. I cant wait to go back and show my friends!
This excellent museum is not to be missed! There are a lot of cool items here. Stevens enthusiasm for the place makes the tour even better - he is one cool hilarious dude! :)
What a wonderful experience at the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft! Stephen was so knowledgeable on the subject and shared many fun stories! It’s very clear that he has a passion for the subject matter and has made many friends in the community. The gift shop has a nice selection of books, tarot cards, and crystals. Was nice to buy a timed ticket to avoid over crowding.
The owner Stephen runs a great little museum of fun wicca/occult artifacts, founded by Raymond Buckland, the popularizer of wicca in the US. Stephens storytelling and highlighting of the neat things hes collected was the highlight of the semi-self-guided, semi-led tour ($8/person.) Great little place to buy some charms or check out the museum, and a must if youre of the wiccan/witchy/occultist persuasion. Book online at their website for the tours, since theyre currently doing them in small groups during COVID.
I definitely recommend doing the museum tour, pretty interesting stuff to look at and the curator and staff are super knowledgeable about each and every piece they display.
This museum was one of my favorite visits while in Cleveland. The tour guide/host is full of knowledge, character and offers the vibe of closely acquainted conversation. I appreciate the sharing of knowledge/stories offered in such a giving way. It’s a treat to watch and interact with someone that radiates when talking about a passion. I highly recommend opening yourself up to this experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and Steven, the museums curator, was informative and fun. Highly recommend.
Ive been to the Buckland Museum a couple of times now, and every time was wonderful. Steven, the owner, has tons of brilliant and funny stories, and hes great about wearing and enforcing masks and social distancing in the museum. Theres a lovely little bookshop in front with both new and used books, almanacs, calendars and other goodies like magazines, zines, and pins, plus a few stones and other witchy tools.Just an all-around great space, and a must-see if youre interested in the history of Wicca or witchcraft in the West (primarily the U.S.). Plus they regularly host events (in person pre-pandemic, online now!) with amazing artists, writers, and other leaders in contemporary witchcraft and paganism.Cant recommend enough. Ill definitely be visiting again!
Great experience! This is definitely a must see while visiting Cleveland. The displays are very exciting & the tour/presentation was fun & informative. The gift shop is AWESOME as well. Thanks Ray Buckland!
Super cool place. They sell cool literature, stones and gems, dried herbs, candles, incense, handmade decorations and art, and a bunch of other stuff. Didnt get a chance to go on the actual museum tour but we will definitely go back to do that at a later date. The man working who I presume was the owner was super kind, accommodating, and helpful. 10/10 will be back to spend more money. 😁
The museum is amazing- so many cool artifacts and pieces of witchcraft history. The tour guide was super fun and down to earth. Had a lot of cool stories to share about the pieces and about pieces not in the museum. He definitely knew what he was talking about. Plus his store was super affordable and had a lot of cool stuff that I wouldn’t find elsewhere. Will definitely be back!
The tour guide was super friendly, knowledgeable about everything in the museum, and was happy to answer questions. The gift shop had so many options, with many local artists works for sale. For such a small museum, I was very impressed with the collection. Definitely worth the visit!
This place was awesome!! The Host was super interesting, great collection and an all around hospitable time! Im going to recommend it to all of my friends
We had a fantastic tour and were enthralled by the artifacts on exhibit. This museum has a very positive energy, it feels good just to be there. I loved the artwork, the magical artifacts, and especially the personal items owned and used by Raymond Buckland, Gerald Gardner, and Aleister Crowley. I walked out feeling closer to history, refreshed and inspired.
Love the vibes in the place. The director is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend!!!
Awesome museum that needs more recognition. If you like the strange and interesting definitely worth stopping here. The gift shop has a nice selection of items and is very reasonably priced. The museum admission is also very reasonable. Steven the owner also has amazing energy and is very easy going and fun to talk to. He gives you a mini introduction of the different items then lets you self tour the museum. He will pop in every few minutes to tell you a story about one of the items. I would plan about 45 minutes to look at everything.
Drive 6 hours to check out this amazing museum and was not disappointed. The manager was so knowledgeable and made the experience so much fun. Will be back with friends! Thanks again!
Whether youre a neophyte or an aged age, this is an amazing place to learn and view numerous items from the neo pagan movement. Countless pagan treasures can be found at the museum, some of which I would kill to get my hands on if it wouldnt be for karma lol. The owner is super nice and tries to accommodate the customer whenever he can. While there are a couple of steps to get into the front of the building handicapped individuals can enter from the side by simply letting the owner know when purchasing your ticket. I wasnt able to gawk at everything as I wanted because of personal time restraints, but Ill be back again. If youre truly into the craft this place should be a mecca for you to visit. A+++ x 10000000!
Great little museum. The people who run it are fantastic. If youre ever in the Cleveland area, this place is well worth the stop, and their gift shop has a nice assortment of gems and books.
There isn’t a better place to learn about the history of witchcraft and its modern forms. The artifacts in their collection are some of the rarest and most important pieces you’ll find anywhere.Practitioners of the craft need to make the pilgrimage to this place. If you’re more of a casual witch-adjacent type, you’ll still love it. There’s tons to look at and it feels just like the rare occult bookshops you see on your favorite spooky shows.
Such a cool space!! So many amazing artifacts, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the craft. I veiled before I went incase there were any negative energies but it felt very safe and calming there. Definitely a must see whether you are a practicer or not!
Im not sure how Ive missed this gem in the decade plus that Ive lived in the area, but am so happy I know about it now. A visiting friend was researching things to do in Cleveland. Weve, over the years, visited pretty much all of the well known attractions. She came across the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft & Magick and scheduled a tour for today. The owner, Steven, was wonderful. Very engaging, knowledgeable and injected just the right amount of humor into his tour. I really didnt expect to take a full hour and a half to explore the museum, as it isnt the largest setup, but the time flew by. The collection is extensive and varied. Steven was on hand to answer any questions we had or to point out some of the more interesting pieces. The bookstore / gift shop is well curated. I will definitely be adding the museum to my rotation of attractions to introduce folks to!
☆ As soon as you walk into the store, a positive vibe washes over you and theres so many somethings that capture your attention. I had a really gratifying experience. Everyone needs to go check out the history! Thank you Steven for helping us out & explaining everything to us. We love our shirts! Support Old Brooklyn!☆.
We really enjoyed our tour at the museum. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and friendly! He answered our questions, and told us interesting history of the items. I am happy to recommend this place to my friends!
I have read a lot of history on Buckland and when I found out this museum existed I wanted to see it for myself. I had a very nice experience and the owner is a great guy! I will definitely come back again with friends! Do yourself a favor and read up on some history before you go! This small space holds a mass amount of awesomeness.
Interesting. The owner had great information. It was certainly a different place to see.
The owner is awesome, he has so much knowledge to share, so passionate about it. Tons of cool stuff to buy too.
Was not expecting to go there and see an original H.R. Giger piece on display!!! All of the pieces there were great but that was my favorite.
Arrived super late to our scheduled tour, but was given the condensed version. Had plenty of time to explore, converse and ask any questions we needed. Awesome place and awesome staff.
A truly magical place to visit in Cleveland. Its a must for anyone with any level of interest in history, and an absolute landmark for enthusiasts of witchcraft and magic. Whether youre a seasoned aficionado in the subject or not, the Buckland Museum will blow your mind with its gorgeous historical artifacts, interactive exhibitions, expansive literature to take home, and the gift shop is a one-stop-shop for fun. Cant recommend this place enough. Go!
Beyond amazing, I have wanted to go here for years and it was every bit worth it. The caretaker was attentive and charismatic and the collection was beyond imagination.
If you think your mind cant handle hearing about non-Christian things, stay home. If youre interested in learning about the world, this is a fascinating place. The folks there are engaging and informed about every piece in the museum.
It would be nice if you advertised the fact that you have to buy tickets in advance or you cant get in. Drove 2 hours and the guy said theyre sold out for the day. Pretty disappointing
Such an amazing place. The people who own it are amazing.. a wonderful place to visit. He did an actual tour and told us about all the artifact in the building.
I took a trip here for part of my surprise bachelorette party and it was wonderful! Such a hidden educational gem! Would recommend to anyone interested in witchcraft or just looking to feed their curiosity and learn.
Excellent display! The curator was very knowledge and friendly. Lots of unique artifacts from Wiccan history. They are scheduling appointments for visits now, in 1.5 hour slots. Gift shop was fun as well.
Amazing attraction unlike any other! Knowledgeable staff, and unique occult items not to be seen anywhere else! Seal it off with a visit to the excellent gift shop, filled with books, ephemera and other curiosities to take home! Highest recommendation!
I could not possibly recommend this establishment enough. The amount of Wiccan history in this museum is astonishing. Wands, staves, books, clothing and tools from the some of the most important and pioneering witches in American history. Without hyperbole, and without hesitation, I would call the Buckland museum of witchcraft, one of the most important places for any young(or old) witch to visit for a greater appreciation and understanding of American Wiccan history, on par with paying respects at the Witches memorial in Danvers, Massachusetts.ON TOP OF THAT! the owner/tour guide was absolutely amazing. Not only did he have a treasure trove of personal stories that connected him to each piece, but the fact that he himself knew Mr.Buckland, makes the visit all the worth while, just to hear him talk. Also had cool candles!
Pretty cool if your into that stuff.
Absolutely amazing museum and the owner is a fount of occult knowledge. If youre in Cleveland be sure to hit this place, get the tour and buy some goodies!!
My cat likes the paper bag I brought home. Lolol
Pretty cool collection of relics here, definitely worth a visit if youre interested in traditional witchcraft and the occult.
The Buckland Museum is more than just the exhibits (which are great!). Not on display is the encyclopedia wisdom and intelligence of the founder who has spent decades learning from the greats of modern occultism. You will not find someone with the depth and breadth of knowledge about witchcraft, magick and the occult anywhere else in the world.
SO MUCH FUN!! The 1.5 hours scheduled is the perfect amount of time. The guy who gives the tours is so knowledgeable and has a great energy. There is so much to see. I personally am not Wiccan but it is still a great time for anyone interested in the occult! If you love Sabrina, Charmed, A Discovery of Witches, you will enjoy this place. It has a great energy and so much fun stuff to learn about. We drove 3.5 hours and it was so worth it! Cant wait to bring others to see it! If you are Wiccan you could have a spiritual experience here! Cant stress again. It was amazing!
Such a wonderful experience! My girlfriend and I loved looking at the artifacts and hearing the information about them. I highly recommend checking this gem of a museum out!!
Awesome stories, plentiful gift shop, and beautiful things on display! Will definitely recommend it to my people!
We had a great time. Its definitely worth stopping in for the tour. Lots of great artifacts and memorabilia and the host was very nice and informative.
Marvels and wonders await ye at The Buckland Museum! This is no tourist trap, but a necessary mecca for all cosmic travellers. Proprietors Steve and Jillian are your easy-going, knowledgeable guides to the wealth of esoterica held within. Theres an occult bookstore of course and a gift shop with cool skulls, t-shirts, and other subcultural tschokes. I go there evertime Im in Cleveland, and sometimes when Im not. In fact, I just might drive like hell straight there right now! Five stars, check it out.
I love this place so much!!! The owner does an amazing tour through the museum, and has a really cute gift shop 🖤
I’d been reading write ups about this museum for ages! I was finally in the area and had to visit. I was actually enchanted far more than I expected. While we emerge into a post-COVID world, reservations are required for now. My group had 4 others and we were able to socially distance easily. Masks were required, and I really appreciated the forethought by the owner! The owner, Stephen (I believe) was so friendly and really personalised the experience for myself and other visitors. He acknowledged me by name when I arrived (from my reservation), and we spoke for a bit. Very nice guy who is incredibly knowledgeable about related topics. At our entrance time we were led inside and given a quick intro talk. This included info about who Raymond Buckland was, his relationship to Gardnerian Wicca, and how the museum came to be. Then we were able to peruse at our convenience. The museum is one large room with another smaller one, which seems to be a rotating exhibit. Imagine an old brick building from probably 1910 that hasn’t been totally gutted inside and as such retains its original charm- squeaky wood floors, trim work, etc. Then imagine the space packed with magickal items arranged beautifully! Lots of ritual items, beautiful photographs and fantastic retro occult publications.I stayed for an hour- I can’t imagine how someone would spend only 15 minutes. There was so much to see, and Stephen was always on hand to chat about anything. Cannot recommend enough- support local, occult leaning businesses!
Very friendly and knowledgeable host. Lots of old and unique items to see.
Very informative on Witchcraft...highly recommended...
Great history in here very nice and knowledgable staff
Amazing museum, beyond intelligent and friendly owners. You will feel welcomed here.. These people and this place is special. Do not miss!
Great place for a spooky fun time!! 👻☠ Very kind and informative guide.
My wife and I came up because we never knew of this gem, I wish we had sooner! Great tour, awesome one of a kind artifacts and overall a great expierence. Will deff make the trip again!
The owner was super nice and knowledgeable, super covid safe!
Tours were sold out but great little store/giftshop!
Awesome museum. Really enjoyed. Time worth spending.
Absolutely loved my time here!Alistair is cool, but Minerva is the greatest!
Awesome pieces and the director of the museum is an awesome guy! Highly recommend!
The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of unique pieces. Loved this place.
Such a treasure! I was surprised when I realized this is in Ohio. Drove two hours for our visit, and we were not disappointed. A Covid-19 safe outing. So much to see and take in, the owner is full of knowledge and stories. We are planning on making the trip back up with some friends!
This place is such a gem in our area. I wish I had found out about it sooner. The curator is very knowledgeable and entertaining and answered every question we had. Its a small area, but they have so many awesome and historical pieces. The gift shop has so much in it as well. We will definitely be back!
Buckland is a really amazing place with awesome people working there! Just a warning dont touch books that say Dont Touch!!!!
Great museum and the owner was very good and informative. Great job at keeping everyone covid compliant with a sense of humor. It was a great experience and I cant recommend it enough. Great if you are just getting into the mystical or an old hand at it. Plus the shop has some great stuff as well
Great place wish we had more time to visit
Steve is very knowledgeable about Raymond Buckland. Enjoyed it very much
Nice place to visit to learn some history.
My 17 year old grand daughter and I went she enjoyed it very much. Steven was great.
Beautiful artifacts and exhibits. Great host
Good times. The dude running the place is nice and has a clear enthusiasm for the subject material and it contained a reasonable amount of authentic items of historical value to a wiccan or pagan nerd.
