Best experience I’ve had with a doctor, to date. I was dealing with bad infection of my upper and lower eye lids. After two unsuccessful visits with urgent care, I came in to see Dr. Dempsey. He diagnosed the issue right away and explained everything thoroughly, including why the medication I received, previously, was not helping. I received proper medication from him and he made himself available for quick updates along my recovery to ensure the medication was working as expected. I can’t express how thankful I am for the care and attention that this office provided me.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! Dr. Dempsey has been my eye doctor for over 20 years. He and his entire staff are the most professional, courteous, friendly people you will ever meet. My wife and daughter both think this place is great. I ran over my glasses while mowing the lawn the Friday afternoon before the Fourth of July, all bent up, lenses fell out, and brought the parts over hoping they could fix them before the holiday weekend. Well, they put them back together (somehow) and I had them back that afternoon. Oh, no charge! I could go on and on, but if you want the BEST eyecare anywhere...you will LOVE these people!

In addition she researched options for sun glasses since a clip on was not an option for the frames. She is very thorough and came back with a recommendation - magnetized sun glasses that’s fit over the frame. She recommended colors and they are a perfect match with my new glasses. I can honestly say I have never had such a positive eye exam experience from start to finish as I did today at Colchester Eye Care. With safety in mind, they greeted me at the door at my appointment time, took my temperature, and provided hand sanitizer. The inside is so clean and bright. Everyone was very friendly and Dr. Dempsey so very kind, patient, explaining all tests and results. He even took the time to explain all of the added safety and cleaning precautions they have implemented as a result of Covid which really eased my mind. Picking out my new glasses has never been easier as they “shop” for you, bringing frames for me to try on until I found just the right pair. I cannot say enough good things about them and would recommend them to anyone.

Once again...Yesterday I had an appointment for my yearly eye exam and once again I am left speechless! I can’t say enough about Doc Dempsey and his staff. They claim to be eye care specialists but in reality they treat and care for their patients and not just their eyes! They understand sometimes it’s not just the eye dictating how you see. They are the example of a true definition of a comprehensive exam and take it to a new level. My eye exam was a very pleasurable experience as I wasn’t sure what to expect not having been to the eye doctor in 15 years. They were very safe with regards to Covid, as they came and got you from your car when it was your turn, had you use sanitizer and checked your temperature upon entering. My doctor was very knowledgeable and made me comfortable as he explained anything I did not know. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Place is a joke. Was on a job in the area and went to try and swap my nose pieces out on my glasses and was told I cant purchase them. An that a technician will be able to swap them out, but need to wait an hour to do so. GTFOH.

I am in awe with how above and beyond Dr. Dempsey went to care for my son this week. Before bed on Tuesday night my son injured his eye. I could see a problem with the white part of his eye. We have been patients of Colchester Eye Care for several years. I called them right away and left a voice mail on their emergency line. Within minutes I received a call from Dr. Dempsey. He asked me to send pictures via text and called me right back again. He assured me that it was not an emergency but that he would need to have lubricating drops and be seen in the morning. We had none and at that point CVS was closing soon. Because he was closer to CVS he decided that he would run to CVS to get the best drops and we could meet him there. We met him in the parking lot where he reassured us again that my son would heal quickly with antibiotic drops. He called in the prescription first thing in the morning.I could not believe how Dr. Dempsey took a stressful and really scary situation and turned it into a complete blessing. I have never encountered a person like him. He was truly our angel that night.

Dr. Dempsey is not only professional but also very dedicated to their work. I have been struggling with recurring erosions and for two weekends Dr. Dempsey not only checked up on me every few hours, he made time to see me in office when the symptoms became unusual. A technician checked in with me prior to the doctor; she was as equally pleasant as the staff. After a short wait, Doctor Dempsey met with me.If you ever have the opportunity, check with Dr. Dempsey. He is a well-spoken professional with wonderful bed-side manners. He approaches clients with expertise thats coupled with sensible humor.Overall my experience was fantastic. Everyone here is exceptionally kind and helpful. They willingly stayed after hours to help me pick out new glasses! I felt comfortable having my appointment amid the covid-19 crisis because of their safety protocols. I received a call prior to my appointment explaining what I needed to do and what to expect upon arrival. I was met at the entrance and had my temperature taken and given hand sanitizer before entering. Being the last patient I watched them clean and sterilize the whole office before getting ready to leave. Every pair of glasses I tried on was immediately cleaned afterwards. I CAN FINALLY SEE!!! 2 years ago, I decided I had no choice but to get progressive glasses. From the day I received them, I always felt like, there was a blurred line within the distance vision, everyone kept saying keep wearing them and youll get used to them! I kept wearing them, but was constantly nauseous and could not get used to them. Months later, I decided to try bifocals and long story short, the same thing happened, I eventually went back to 2 pairs of glasses, one for distance and a separate pair of bifocals for computer/reading and although, the computer/reading glasses still felt like I had a blurred line within the distance field, I just came to the conclusion, that age had kicked in and this was going to be my life. I was constantly frustrated and had glasses on my face and on my head, so I could see close up and far away. This year, I changed professions and was struggling to see so much, I decided to try progressives again. The girl who helped me, Heather, was AMAZING! When she was marking my glasses, she asked me if I held my head up when I looked straight? I had no idea? She told me to close my eyes, put my head down and then with my eyes closed to put my head up to where I would look straight. As I did that, she said You do hold your head up! Today, I went to pick up my new progressives and I CAN FINALLY SEE! I can seeing while driving, I can see the computer screen and I can see while reading, all with one set of glasses and I am not nauseous. I was literally dancing around the house, I am so excited!!!! Heather is AWESOME, I cannot say enough about her. She was SO helpful and after 2 years, I am finally not frustrated with my vision or juggling multiple pairs of glasses!!!! Thank you Heather and Colchester Eye Care.

We are first time patients. We were welcomed with a personalized entry sign which was a really nice touch. The staff was extremely friendly. The exams thorough with all questions answered. A++ Doctors. The glasses selection was perfect. A great mix of trendy styles, at all price points. Not too many frames to be confusing but an all over great selection. Optician, Heather, answered all of our questions and recommended the perfect lenses that benefitted us AND was compatible with our insurance. I highly recommend this office. From start to finish the experience was completely worth the drive we took from Groton to get there.

Doctor Dempsey is great. He is very thorough and explains things very well. The staff is helpful and very friendly. They have a great selection of eyeglass frames with a knowledgeable and helpful optician.

The building was really nice and so was my doctor! They did a very good job! I also loved the welcome on the chalkboard when I walked in. Highly recommend

Ive been to Colchester Eye Care quite a few times due to having lasik eye surgery @ TLC Laser Eye Center (they are amazing). I had all my pre and post appointments there. The staff and doctors are always incredibly friendly and welcoming and the team is very accommodating when it comes to schedule flexibility. When I moved to Colchester, I knew I had to find an optometrist closer to my new home. I figured Id give this local business a chance. Little did I know that Dr. Alexandra Sadanowicz would tell me things about my vision and how to care for my eyes that I had never heard before - and I have been wearing glasses and contacts for about 45 years! I happen to be one of those people who researches various things in my line of work. It is clear to me that this doctor is constantly researching, learning and expanding her knowledge, and she takes the time to communicate that to her patients. Ive never felt a rapport better than this with a medical professional. The office itself is bright, clean, and welcoming, and all the personnel strive to make the visitor feel comfortable. The frame selections and the options for anti glare, Transitions, and other choices are explained clearly. The doctors even allowed me a discount offered by a newly opened competitive business. I highly recommend this practice.
