Ο θεός να το κάνει καφενείο. First impression: empty for a Friday night? Odd. Great space, comfortable looking lounge area up front. No one initially front of house, but someone eventually came up to take my order. Gyro w/orzo, and 3 dip starter. I was right to be worried that there was no gyro cone spinning in the vertical rotisserie. Gyro came out: Μια μεγάλη ντροπή. Three or four cut up slabs of various size from the center of the cone. Such a let down. The dips were ok, but one lonely quartered pita for all these dips? Two would be perfect. From all the reviews, I was looking forward to this. Unfortunately I left very disappointed. Ill try one more time as this might have been a fluke.
Ordered from uber eats the loaded nachos described as nachos with black beans, beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and jalapenos. Received none of the vegetables, the beans were cold like straight out of the can and the beef was gyro meat. Not good. We tried to call and the number says they are closed. Also tzatziki tastes like ranch with feta, it isnt terrible but none of the cool cucumber yogurt vibe I was hoping for.
I love the food here and try to swing by when visiting my sister. I am giving four stars because my recent visit we both ordered Orzo and was given a bland tasting pasta. I asked about it and the gentleman told me people were complaining, and that the person who made it did not do it right. With that said, he knew it wasnt to the standards of the restaurant and still it ended up on our table. That was today. Hope this helps
Best gyro Ive ever had! The omelette is amazing as well.Look forward to it reopening in the spring!
Delicious Greek cuisine. Gyros are meaty and so filling. Greek potatoes are perfect to go with any meal. Nice, comfortable seating in or outside. Parking all around the area and very good prices. Excellent service as well. A gem on Main St.
My daughter and I have a love for authentic Greek food. Kafenio was so inviting and the food was terrific. Great prices and service was exceptional as well. So happy we stopped by when we were in town. :)
One of my fav places for Greek food. I love snacking here. The service here is better than most. Prices that wont break you.
This place is an awesome surprise hidden in a row of storefronts in a 1920s brick building in College Park. My husband and I happened to stop there for lunch and we will *definitely* be back with our family & friends. The food was excellent. I think their classic lamb gyro is the best Ive had so far in Atlanta. The flavor and texture of the lamb were perfect. The portions were generous without being too much. And the price was reasonable as well. Loved it!
Kafenio serves phenomenal espresso and some of the best baklava Ive yet had. The space is comfortable for both work and just hanging out. Ill certainly be back and next time to try the lunch items!
Really good! Left the airport after an early flight and found this gem, so happy to find vegan options and the vegan bowl was delicious and filling. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, highly recommend :)
Kafenio serves phenomenal espresso and some of the best baklava Ive yet had. The space is comfortable for both work and just hanging out. Ill certainly be back and next time to try the lunch items!
Look forward to reopening in the spring!Best gyro Ive ever eaten.
DELICIOUS, adorable restaurant. Everything was really tasty and fresh including large-portioned breakfast dishes and good coffee! Gluten friendly too! Nice staff.
Most excellent breakfast and atmosphere. Staff is amazing Food & Coffee is incredible. Cant say enough good things about this establishment. I really am impressed at the menu. They have chicken sausage as an alternative to pork. Thats awesome.
Really good iced coffee! Aphrodite sandwich was quite tasty. Zeus sandwich is also good. Quick pleasant service. Recommended.
Been here twice this week... first for lunch, and the lamb-beef burger was really good. Then went for breakfast Saturday morning and had another great meal, an omelette with cheddar, bacon, sausage and gyro meat... YUM-O! Service is okay, quick enough for a work-day lunch. They have some good looking desserts, too!
Ive been here several times and it has never failed me. Everything Ive had so far have satisfied me. Beware, they have tempting desserts, so if youre watching your waistline, dont look left it right.
Sat outside today drinking my Cortado. Beautiful and relaxing day. The drink was delicious, the service was on point. Enjoyed every second there!
I love this place! Best grits in town for breakfast. I especially like the breakfast bowls. Great coffee too!
This place is great! The food is really good as well. I’ve had breakfast here several times and it’s always delicious. I wish they had more milk options for their coffee but other then that, love this place.
Nice location with parking. The atmosphere was very inviting with a nice array of music. The food was also great.
This is a great spot for a quick bite. The gyro was tasty, and the Greek potatoes were worth the small upcharge. There was plenty of seating during the lunch hour.
Great food and great portions. I had the gyro salad, and it came with Greek salad and gyro meat in a bowl with two pieces of pita. They were generous with the salad toppings which is rare. And super nice! Id definitely go back here for lunch. The only thing is I feel that $10 for the lunch was a bit over priced.
Quaint little creek Place. They make great chai tea and I always have a slice of baklava. I stay an hour writing on my computer.
Kafenio is a pretty place, with a nice ambience. At the time of this review, Ive only eaten there once and had their coffee and pastries several times. From my experience, I feel that the pastries and coffee are their strong suit. I love their cookies. The Greek food we had wasnt bad.
Great food and a really soothing atmosphere. I could imagine coming here on a rainy day and just sipping coffee with a good book. The world needs more of these!
Today there was an unpleasant caucasian woman with a skinny ponytail who refused to say hello. Whats that about? Kafenio was friendly from the start, yet it doesnt work the same anymore because they do what they want. Ill just leave this alone. Our real friends are our real friends. Ps...say hey to my friend who smiles all the time and eats good food there. He also had an Amsterdam maroon cap today. Sunshine, on my shoulder makes me Happy! Cant make me sad. Peace.
Girl by the counter where you order food got really mad at the fact, that I said that I’m in a hurry and asked if there is anything she can do to get my order faster. Place was almost empty and I was told, that food will come out, when it will. Gave me half cup of the water for my tea, turned and walked away.Food came out fast and was good, but service received from hostess is really subpar. Would not come back.
I had a great experience here for breakfast. It’s order at the counter, but there are plentiful seating options, including outside. The coffee was strong and the Hera bagel was excellent: feta spread (yum), egg and sausage on a nicely griddled bagel. The space is clean and orderly. Definitely a nice spot if you’re in the area.
This place makes great coffee and delicious baklava. You love the lunchtime sandwiches too. Just got a very homey local atmosphere that makes you feel right at home
Can be pricey, watch what you order. The grits are awesome.Check out my YouTube channel. Coolest Life
Very laid back and friendly staff. Meat lovers omelette was great and they make a nice latte. Will come back for sure next time I am flying through ATL.
The food was so good. I had takeout for breakfast and Im vegan but my fiancè is not. We both liked the food.
Went here for brunch on a whim because Id wanted to check it out in general. I love the greek-meets-cafe concept, and the food was great! I will be back to try out the lunch fare and other goodies.Very clean and staff is super helpful and friendly. Awesome first impression!
A sweet spot in an awesome area of Atlana.Good tasting food in a relaxing atmosphere. Very simple place.Great vegan hummus wrap and vegan hummingbird cake.
Great food, great service, homey atmosphere. One of my favorite places for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Big plus, their coffee is rich and amazing AND they serve beer and wine if you want to make your experience all the better! Only tricky part is parking if youre trying to go at a peak time. Definitely a staple of the tri-cities community!
Falafel pita was heavy, crispy and really good. Greek potatoes were excellent too. The dining room area is really cozy like a coffee shop with nice vintage wood floors and tables. Its a good place to meet for a business lunch or to get some work done. They also serve beer.
Fun coffee shop with good food options. Nothing fancy here. The location is great and the French fries are a high light. Sadly, no frozen coffee drinks. Still they can make you a Cappuccino and thats always delightful. They have a chessboard as well.
My preferred location for tasty greek food. staff is always nice even when they have a full house. the staff was very friendly and attentive. it has a cool feel to it.
The feta cheese was amazing! The biscuit was to die for and the omelette was cooked very well abd delicious.
Pleasantly surprised by this cute little Greek cafe! I had the gyro salad, and it was fresh and pretty big, couldnt even finish it. Also, prices were reasonable and worth what you get. Overall, great neighborhood joint!
Great service, good food with take out service. Something to try if youre in the neighborhood. Descent ambience for low key dining or just to chill and eat
Good Food. Perfect portions. Great flavors.I had the Gyro omelet with grits, biscuit and coffee. It was really good. I will be back. The gyro sandwich looks good, I cant wait to try it.
Management and staff have taken this place to the ultimate experience. Meditteranean at its best. A weekly stop for me and friends.Efficient, courteous and no nonsense professionalism. Desserts are superb. 10 thumbs up.
Good breakfast spot. Reasonable prices. The omelets are pretty tasty.🍳
My new favorite breakfast spot. Food is good. Coffee is good, which is saying a lot coming from me. Cute place. Not too crowded.
This is a really nice little coffee shop. Been back few times now to try and get a full feel of their offerings but its been pretty decent. It really fits the neighborhood its in and the menu is just enough to have options for all.
I love that it is small quaint coffee shop. The food is absolutely delicious. I love the baklava and the iced lattes. I spend hours there each time and the service and staff are friendly and very courteous.
Small but personal. Nice staff. Delicious food.
A friend and I stopped by last evening for desert. Its a cool and relaxing spot. I just loved the Cortadito - check it out if youre in the mood for a luxurious caffeine fix. Also, if you have an opportunity stop by for breakfast...you wont be disappointed!
I love their gyro salad. Super filling and delicious!
I visited Kafenio earlier today around 7PM to grab dinner to go. I really wanted some Greek food and used to come here all of the time when I used to live near Main St (early last year) I ordered what I always order - Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries and added Greek salad on the side.(This time I ordered the same thing twice because one meal was for my husband). With the 15% tip the total came up to around $28. While I was waiting with my 11month old, I was surprisingly greeted by a former student who I used to teach (high school Spanish). I was very pleased to hear that he is enrolled in college and is minoring in Spanish. Eventually, the food was done and they let me know. Since I was distracted talking to my former student and carrying an 11 month old, I didn’t check the bag that the food was in. When I got home, my husband and I were disappointed to see that the Greek salad was prepared with old lettuce. The chicken sandwich was ok- it didn’t taste as good as it used to. While it was definitely a blessing to catch up with a former student and see the impact that I made in his life, I was disappointed in quality of my dinner. What a waste of money. Good thing I had a good encounter there or else I wouldn’t be back.
Had a Gyro with Greek potatoes. I sat at a table outside. The gal who brought the food told me the silverware is inside at the bar. So, you either have to carry your food back in or leave it unattended to go get a fork. Really? The Gyro was wrapped in some kind of paper and then set next to the potatoes which were there together resting in a minimum of 1/4 deep in cooking oil in a plastic basket also lined in paper. The decor is sort of boho poverty. The price was about $10. This is not an experience I would want to repeat.
Good food. Good hot chocolate. Good service. Locals eat here regularly in the morning.
The Dark Roast -Sumatra/ Ethiopian was Superb!!! The Baklava was delicious!..Great Staff and very nice spot to just relax. I will definitely go back for the food next time. Wish I lived closer but I definitely would make the drive.
Any place that serves breakfast and coffee all day is already a winner in my book, and this place is no exception. Great food, service, and comfortable seating.
One of my favorite breakfast and coffee places. My favorite coffee is a Cortadita topped with coffee and Lisa always serve it up perfectly.
Second time eating here. Were from out of state, and Ive traveled all over the world, but Kafenio has the best breakfast Ive ever had- hands down. The eggs they use in their omlettes taste amazing, their tomatoes are beautiful, the bagel sandwiches blow any other breakfast spot out of the water.Oh! And theyre coffee is also some of the best Ive ever had (even the basic black coffee). Its strong, smooth, and will have you getting refills every 10 minutes.Im making it a tradition to come here every time that I pass through Atlanta.
Great food friendly service solid ingredients..really hits the spot!
We had breakfast here with a friend who had a 3 hour layover at the airport. It was super convenient to the airport and easy to get in and out of. We mostly had omelettes and they were tasty. The only thing I wasnt crazy about was that we had to go back up to the counter to have our coffee refilled but its not that big a deal because its a pretty small place.
Ok spot for Greek food. Nice place to think about business. I will be back with my coworkers. Prices are appropriate for the quality.
Good strong coffee and breakfast food anytime.Tasty cookies and muffins and pastry plus all the other good Greek food offered here. Good service and clean surroundings.
My food was ready when l got there..no delay
Go Greek!!! Best Greek food South of Atlanta!!! The breakfast bowl is the bomb too!! Historic College Park hang out.
Needed a quick breakfast before flying out, stopped by here on the recommendation of a friend. Im not a big coffee guy (or one at all), but I love a good breakfast and atmosphere. This had a great neighborhood vibe, and the food was excellent.
This is my go-to Greek place when Im down around College Park. The owner is very Hands-On, and strives to produce a quality product. Sometimes when he is not there and there is certain staff, the experience is not as enjoyable. The food however, is always delicious.
I’m at Kafenio in Avondale at LEAST twice a week. Authentic Greek cafe (the tzaziki is the owner’s mama’s recipe, so you know it’s bomb!) that has the best gyro I’ve ever had also serves breakfast all day. #bestcoffeeintownI’ve also used Kafenio to cater events. They do it all!!!
We stopped by for coffee and brunch, and were pleasantly surprised by this cafe. Great coffee, tasty chai, fantastic gyro, and good options for the vegetarians in our group. This place is warm and welcoming and inclusive, and we will definitely be back.
Great breakfast you can get all day, and great Greek dishes for lunch dinner. Plenty of good coffee options as well. Service is always great, and this is our go-to spot for breakfast both for us on the weekends, and when friends and family visit and we want to show them some of our favorite business in the tri-cities.
Really good!! Probably my new favorite lunch spot in College Park actually. Usually not too crowded, quick service, and a great menu selection to choose from. Always a win here!
Best of cafes....Staff awesome too.. care about their service and products!! Great bkfst and lunches.. grits are best ever
Cute place, good food, pretty friendly staff. Good place to come grab a bite.
I really didnt know the process of ordering and what is brought to the table nor was it fully explained. I felt slow, but food was very good!!! Portions were great!!!
Very helpful welcoming staff. Great FRESH food. Vegetarian selection as well as variety of meats. Food is plated with care and place is very clean.
Great Greek food for the price! Placed a to-go order over the phone and it was ready super quickly and every order was correct. Staff is friendly, and dining space is inviting.
I liked it, the traditional gyro was really good, one of the biggest Ive ate in Atlanta.
A great little hole in the wall! It had a wonderful vibe, and it was a great place to relax and study. Delicious baklava and Chai tea!
Plus another star for being one of the very few good places to get breakfast in Atlanta. Delicious as always! Thanks guys!
Food good, the cashier didnt let me know they didnt have onions for my omelet. I ask for well done veggies and I didnt receive my request. I had to take it back
First time visiting this coffee shop and I loved it! The atmosphere and staff were great! Ill definitely be a regular here.... Their hibiscus blueberry tea is amazing!
This is a College Park gem! Breakfast was great. The restaurant is set up nice-- somewhere between coffee shop and cafe. The owner is personable and friendly. They do an interesting chat on their biscuits that is unique in ATL. Omelet and grits were great.
