Pretty much a disaster. Record selection in the rock section is really picked over, meanwhile there are mountains of unopened boxes of vinyl they havent bothered to process. Staff is rude. Most record stores I walk out with dozens of cool finds. Here I rarely walk out with anything at all.

I really love this store! Its great spending time sifting through the vinyls for that perfect gem you didnt even know you needed!

Seems like a good place. Dude behind counter was nice. They had a lot of stuff but in true vinyl/uses cd store fashion its thrown everywhere, messy and unorganized. Too bad because I would spend more here if I could find it or at least didnt feel.like boxes would fall.on me as I walk by. If you have a wheelchair or walker/crutches be careful. Prices were good. Ill go back but Im not patient enough to look too long in unorganized boxes...

Been going for three years and every time, Ive been able to find an artist im looking for on vinyl or CD. found everything from mobb deep, primal scream, afrika bambaataa, sade, tangerine dream, to skinny puppy. CD Depot has been my #1 source for finding rare/out-of-print music on CD and vinyl records for almost 10 years now. It remains one of the few remaining music retail stores on the East Coast.......for me.

Treasure trove of CD and Vinyl. Friendly staff and a non-stuffy atmosphere. Very underground basement treasure hunt vibe. I was able to pick up some obscure rare CDs today and the prices are low! Most CDs are $5.99 some even lower than that! I dont buy Vinyl but I am not exaggerating when I say I was tripping over the stuff browsing for CDs! Its everywhere!

I love this place if you are looking for a movie or CD or record then you should start looking here! You can even call and ask if they have something and if they do they will keep it up front for you to pick up so you dont have to spend time looking through everything. This place is awesome. Also all dvd movies I ever bought from here work great!

This is a genuine music store that I could spend hours in. When I say that though, its partly because of the organization. The music selection is great, but arrangement of vinyl is a bit chaotic. CDs are plentiful and more organized. Cassette stock was small as expected and in one area. There are some used stereo components for sale as well. Those working the store are friendly and helpful. I would give this store a higher rating if not for two things. First off, when walking past the back, I caught a glimpse into the rear storage area. It appeared to be a large cluttered hoard of media stored haphazardly, which was disappointing to see. Secondly, while I almost kind-of like the appeal of this place, finding particular vinyl will require a good bit of patience, maybe too much. I dont want to criticize business practice, but this place could really use a week of pulling stuff out, and then refitting it all back in a good place. With some more organization, this store would be truly amazing.

Call the store a week in advance and made arrangements to bring in my CDs on a Saturday was told to call Saturday morning to make sure manager was there. Called and spoke with manager and arrange to come in at one. Was told to call again before I came in which I did. The store just jacked me around and wasted my entire Saturday morning because they said after all they dont have anyMoney in the cash register! What a SHI-show!

Pro tip for anyone going into this store: i highly suggest referring records as vinyls there just to see if anyone gets madMost of the times I went there was a smooth and quick grab&go. I will say there was this one time that felt so weird. i felt that one of the staff members was getting to chummy on me.i wanted to buy an LP which was priced low because it had a scratch. he went and removed it, which is fine but he like.. made sure none of the other staff knew he removed the scratch so that I dont have to pay extra for it .. ?? and specifically let me know about him doing thatin a totally unwarranted discussion he went on to explain the history of LPs to me, commenting im young. he then also asked me about me going to UMD and if my sister went there (I dont have a sister) and asked for my name. the whole interaction felt so off and unwarranted bc i just wanted to buy something quick. i left feeling quite weirdAll in all, this place has an amazing selection of old records and CDs. Unfortunately it is very cluttered, cramp, dusty, and disorganized. It does not look particularly pleasing to the eye. Theres quite a lot of unsorted records simply stacked onto each other and the store has a funky smell. I think this place would be great if it changed to a bigger, cleaner, and brighter location with a total revamp. However, you can still find a lot of great content there for a good price.

They have sooo may records at fair prices but you need to carve out an hour to just browse. It could be organized better.

Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Like going to a CD store in the early-2000s heyday of CD stores. Excellent used section and new releases you can’t find elsewhere in person. Particularly good used blues section.

If you’re into sampling and making beats then this is definitely a crate diggers paradise. There’s a variety of obscure records that are waiting to be sampled. I have a hard time finding some well known albums on vinyl since it’s mostly CDs, hence the name CDepot. Every time I go inside and dig for a good 2 hrs I feel like I’m in the Endtroducing album cover lol :-).

This place have a lot of music. However they are running out of space and is a challenge sometimes to walk inside the the store. If you compare the place with other stores is very disorganize. Hopefully they can consider this comment as a positive one and do something better.

CDEPOT is not the same store . my first visit to cdepot 10 years ago was a real treat . i dont know if their under new management . This store almost looks like a episode of American pickers . i walked in the store its not organized . boxes and cluttered everywhere . how do they stay open ? its my opinion people today dont want to go on a scavenger hunt to find music cds and dvds and records . if i would have taken pictures of what ive seen . i can only imagine how many views i would have gotten .

The place is awesome, extremely wide selection and great service. I highly recommend visiting this place if youre in the market for movies or music.

I Came up my first time there!!! left out with 8 vinyls all classics went home they all played and sounded good despite most of them being used, spent less than $20. Will be going back again.....and again lol

They have great variety of movies, tv shows, anime, CDs for a reasonably price. I would check here first before going to a retail store.

This is a great spot for vinyl records, CDs and other media. I personally come here for their vinyl selection and they have a decent selection. Good have more soul and jazz in my opinion. Good prices and selection of used or new copies

A bit crowded, but hey, isn’t that what good record stores are supposed to be?Not able to go there as much as I’d like, but always find something worth while.These kinds of places are disappearing fast, so treasure them while they’re here.

CDepot is what you would expect from any music store. Theres tons of music through the whole store, but none of it is well organized and it takes a bit of effort to figure out the way music is divided in the store. The customer service was just okay, and the store definitely looks like it has some age to it, but with some searching you can find some good music

Cd Depot has a vast inventory especially for records and there can be sone finds, however it can be too vast as there are piles of boxes everywhere including some quite tall stacks and the whole entrence way. Great if you really enjoy the hunt.

My pumpkin took me to this place and it was nice. They have a mass amount of music selections and it kind of reminded me of Willies record store in Richmond. Nice place to go for music!

Love this place. Been coming here off and on over 10-15 years and it really has not changed a bit. Tons of cd, mostly new but still a great selection of used too and tons of old hard to find vinyl. Place is a tad cluttered its like they have too much stuff that they have random stuff scattered in boxes all over the place make egress a bit of a pain but still a great nostalgic place.

I have been buying CDs from CDepot since it first opened (sometime in the 80s or early 90s). The BEST place in the Maryland suburbs for price and selection, and fortunately still going strong.

One of the few remaining high altars to retro memorabilia, CDepot has a vast selection of cds, vinyl, and dvds. The place is a veritable goldmine of hard to find and often out of print material. Ive been coming here for 20yrs and have consistently mined nuggets and imported gems from audio to video. The store is huge. If you dont mind leaning into and stretching over full cardboard boxes which line the aisles, youre sure to find some interesting offerings. The walls also serve as a kind of album cover art gallery, as there are many framed LPs. Ive also found some great music- related books here. I should hope that long-serving, friendly and faithful staff, namely Jerry, would be amply rewarded. Theres usually plenty of parking, although the Chinese buffet next door can get busy. From jazz to rock n roll, classical to international, its well worth the trip to check it out.🎷🎹🎺💖🧐🎤🎸🥁🎻🆒️😎🎶😊☮.

Largest selection of any used store around here. Most everything is used but sealed closed, so you cant inspect the actual record or CD for scratches before buying. Pointless, I didnt buy anything. Store was really hot and isles were crowded with boxes of used record inventory not on display.

This place is an unholy mess. Its far too unorganized to shop comfortably. Boxes of LPs block the access to the CDs, and those CDs are sometimes packed into the racks so tightly that they are impossible to quickly flip thru. I had to lean over, bend around, or stand on tiptoes to read the CD spines (and the lighting doesnt help). And while the initial reaction to seeing long rows of CDs seems promising, fully 90% of the inventory is junk -- stuff that in other record stores would be in the dump bin, priced to sell at 50 cents a disc. The good stuff is inevitably labeled RARE, even when its only nominally so, and priced at full-blown retail.It quickly began to feel like work going through the inventory. I finally got so frustrated with the chaos and disarray that I just walked out. I wont come back until they straighten up the place and not make it such a chore to browse. Such a shame, because Im sure theres some gold in there somewhere. Well, I guess Il never find out.

Probably closer to a 3.5 rating. While there are some negatives (disorganized, dirty, unfriendly employees, horribly low payout for your used stuff, and over-emphasis on Rap CDs in their new releases), the bottom line is that there is always something surprising and worthwhile to be found. With my sizable collection of 1500+ vinyl/CDs and being very critical of what I add to it, even I manage never to leave empty-handed. That says something! Suggestion: Come without a specific list of things youre looking for (use Amazon for that) and be open to new discoveries. Also, come with plenty of time on your hands, as youll be digging around awhile.

Waste of space. There is not one metal cd in the building. Place is moldy and you cannot even reach the cds in the rock section because of the boxes of rap and gospel crap in the way. I reccommend driving all the way to baltimore to go to the soundgarden where they sell music.
