They were very helpful and knowledgeable with the equipment prior to my purchase.

These guys are mainly geared for commercial. They only sell 0 turn mowers, NO mini-riders or or lawn tractor designs though they do sell parts for all of them.I usually end up ordering what I need and awaiting delivery.Sometimes, Amazon is faster if I know the part I need, but lawnmowers are a foreign language to me so I seldom have that option.Its hit or miss whether RBI (in Ashland) or Connors will have the better price. Its a drive, but RBI does often have more items readily in stock.Unfortunately, The only shop in Chester just seems outrageously priced on most things. Plus they usually have a 2 month waiting list for lawnmower repair.Surprisingly, your best bet for repairs seems to be Sears home services and they come right to you! Usually in less than a week, sometimes in just a day or 2.So if its something that requires a professional repair I usually fall back on Sears.

2 months for stihl hedetrimmers to be repaired, simple carb issue, still dont work right... over 2 weeks no response w new stihl weedeater, that rope wont retract...been spending here $$ over 20 years..called multiple times.picking stuff up and wont reurn..

Took a couple chainsaws and a weed whacker on 2 separate occasions just to give them a chance. Theyre not a husqvarna authorized dealer and don’t work on poulan. Weren’t very willing to tell me who would, just that they wouldn’t. If you choose not to be licensed by a brand, that’s fine, but why treat it like you’re losing business? I found a great place up in henrico and another in Prince George. There’s a husqvarna place in waverly that was really good people.

Didnt have the drive belt I needed for my riding mower but both Lowes and Home Depot have the belt...

First time visit to this business. They were great. Told us right off what we needed to do to fix our problem.I LOVE the big orange tabby kitty. He was very friendly and loved me rubbing him.

Over the years, I have purchased several pieces of equipment from Robert and had a few repairs and service to chain saws, chippers etc. and all of the repairs work in his shop has been excellent service.Today I went in to ask his advice concerning a pole chain saw. I had reviewed the top brands and watched several you-tube videos. Roberts knowledge and guidance in selecting the correct saw for my needs was totally logical and not based on buying the most expensive saw in his shop.HIs guidance for the average homeowner or small business owner is invaluable.I have found his shop and employees to be knowledgeable, friendly and anxious to provide the best service possible.In todays society it is refreshing to find a shop that really cares about their customers and displays integrity in their workmanship and approaches their sale of products based on the customers needs in a totally honest fashion.

Best local supplier of outdoor lawn and garden equipment. Large selection of riding and push mowers and accessories, at competitive prices. Good parts inventory. If they don’t have it, they usually can get it in a few days. Experienced service team, be prepared to leave it with them a few days. Mr. Conner and family are a great team.

I brought my Echo backpack blower in to be repaired. Another small engine place said it needed a replacement carburetor but couldnt do the work. The guy at Conners fixed it, no problem and its run fine ever since. I gladly offered to pay for the fix, but he didnt want anything! 5 stars!!

Disappointed that they didn’t have the correct size file for sharpening my chainsaw, after calling Oregon and telling me they were an Oregon dealer.

They sell everything you need to get & keep you property looking fantastic. Purchased my TC-HD there, awesome mower. 3 Year 300hr factory warranty, also awesome.

Left my tractor there in Feb. 1 month later nothing had been fixed until I called. Upon picking it up the problem was fixed. However 2 days later when I went to use it they had broken the blade engage. I had to bring it back and theyve been putting me off ever since. Still not fixed. Dont go here if you expect something done right and on time.

The only place to purchase a new Toro, Stihl, Gravely, always purchase from Dealer, same price as anyone, not allowed to sell higher than say, Lowes, Home Depot etc. Great service at Conners Small Engine and Robert Conner will always have your back

Poor customer service.

The first time I took the Echo weedwacker I bought from them (it wouldnt start the second summer I had it) they charged me over $50 for a new style gas line (with an extra vent) that I feel should have been covered under the infamous Echo 5 year warranty. Well they informed me that they dont do warranty work, so even if they repair something that should be covered by a warranty, they will just charge you for it all (my opinion is that if you have to change the design of something in order for it to work over a year, then there is probably a serious design flaw which should be fixed for free).My second (and last) experience was when I took in my Echo chainsaw that wouldnt start. They had it close to a month the first time I called and the repair technician told me straight up that it had him stumped. He said that it was getting air from somewhere but that was all he could tell me. He went on to say that they did have someone that was good at engine repair on the premises and he would get him to help with the repair. Well, over another month and 2 calls later (for a total of over 2 and a half months) I went to the store and picked up my chainsaw. The ladies at the counter were very cordial and told me that it had somehow been forgotten and slipped through the cracks (though I had called about it 3 times).I COULD ONLY WISH THAT WAS THE END OF MY EXPERIENCE!!!!!I finally got around to buying a new carburetor for it last week and to my HORROR, the bolts that hold the carburetor onto a plastic plate had been STRIPPED. One of them was completely stripped and the other was badly overtightened (deforming the plastic). I guess the tech was making sure it wasnt leaking air at the base of the carburetor. I took pictures but with the kind of service I received from these people (after spending over $600 there) I dont think I want to even see this business again. Now I cant even mount the new carburetor without modification or replacement of parts.

After expressing my need for a timely return on my mower, it took 3 weeks to get a simple push mover repaired with no reasons, only excuses from staff, obvious prioritizing of clients and equipment without communication leaves me wondering why I use this place. Not recommended and extremely disappointing especially since I was told they were not busy when I dropped it off. It is easy to become complacent when youre the only game in town..... fairness, quality and customer service wanes as a result.

Purchased a Stihl Weed whacker from Mr. Conner couple of years ago. Based on the model purchased and their sound advice, I have had NO issues with this string trimmer.They recommended high octane gas due to the ethanol content, which wicks moisture out of the air. Since moisture is disastrous to carburetors, I followed their advice for all my small engines. This advice as well as properly winterizing with a fuel stabilizer has saved me a lot of Spring start-up head aches. I have had zero issues since implementing this advice.

Drop off takes a little bit of time, but these guys know their engines and prices are right! Ill post again on workmanship when I pick up.Update 7-16-18The guys did a great job on my lawnmower. Running like a champ. When I came in to pick up the chainsaw, they told me they didnt think it was right to work on it because the cylinder was damaged. They showed me where the damage was and told me it would not be worth the money to fix. They didnt even charge me a diag fee. Great work ethics! And all done in about 1 week.

Took two weed trimmers in for repairs one was a murray the other a poulan was told they didnt work on murray products but I personally spoke with the tecniction and he said he would repair it as well as the poulan and would be ready 08/23/19 called to see if they were ready and was told by the lady that answered the phone that the technician changed his mind and refused to fix the murray after promising me face to face that he would and never even touched the poulan weed trimmer and I brung my own parts in for it..very bad business when you lie right to the customers face..I use to think highly of conners small engine but this has changed my opinion of them

Apparently theyre not open Saturday.. store hours on Google and their door says Saturday 8-12. Its 9:33 and lights are off and door locked. No sign stating why on the door. Really frustrating driving from dinwiddie (30 minutes away) to find out theyre not open

Updated review: I took my Stihl chainsaw to them for service and repair. Great repair great price, great people, great service. I went back and bought a bigger Stihl and from now on this is where Im shopping.

Dishonest shop. I brought a leaf blow here for warranty repair. The told me when I dropped it off that they have a hard time getting repairs through Poulan Pro and that if it was gas related, it wouldn’t be covered. They ended up trying to tell me the problem was with the gas line. Even if this was the problem, which it wasn’t because I ran it for 30 minutes the day before bringing it in, it should have been covered under warranty because it has only been used a few times and is within the warranty period. Instead of working on the warranty, they simply billed me for the repair and said I couldn’t have my leaf blower back until it was paid. Furthermore, when I dropped it off, they said that they would call if there was a cost before doing the repair and they didn’t do this. When I called and talk to them about it, they hung up on me. I don’t recommend this business as they are dishonest and have terrible customer service skills.

I WENT TO CONNER INQUIRING ABOUT STIHIL CHAIN SAWS. THE YOUNG LADY AT THE FRONT DESK WAS QUICK TO HELP BY GETTING ONE OF THE SERVICE GUYS IN BACK. THE SERVICE GUY WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS SOLD AND SERVICE AT THEIR STORE.THE ENVIRONMENT HAS ALWAYS BEING FRIENDLY TO ME.

I dropped my lawnmower off on 5-7-16 they told me two weeks at the most I call today 5-24-16 they havent even touched my lawnmower plus the customer service was TERRIBLE the lady at the front had a nasty ass attitude. I said I was calling to find out about the status of my lawnmower because I need to cut my grass SHE TELLS ME everyone needs to cut their grass are you serious! Very unprofessional very rude and down right just dont care about time management! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE! Save yourself the trouble PLEASE!
