Brian S. and Ted were amazing (and others who helped that I may have missed) working on helping to rebuild my Giant Defy that had to be retired due to a crash. It took some time to get parts -- but in the end I am beyond thrilled with my new bike and their efforts. This is why I buy local and highly recommend Old Town Bike Shop!
This shop is the best!!! This is where I purchased my Trek mountain bike and I continue to go back for maintenance and bike parts, etc.. Why??? They have the best customer service in town!!!! They are always super friendly and SO helpful!!! I learn something new every time I go in for anything!
I recently purchased a bike from these wonderful folks and have been consistently impressed with the quality of their service. As a former bike mechanic, I found the bike to be impeccably set up right out the door. Their knowledge of accessories and other bike related stuff is really impressive. Finally, they were just kind to work with and made the process super easy. Thanks for being the essence of what a top notch local bike shop should be.
Found everything I needed, and I like shipping in person so I can better evaluate my options. Helpful and friendly staff.
Tim was super helpful with this road bike newbie looking to get new tires. Even talked me through how to change them myself so that I can do it if I ever need to on a ride. Thanks guys for your help! Will definitely be back!
Topnotch, professional, knowledgeable. Great service
This is the best bike shop I have ever been to. Incredible inventory, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and super fast repairs. I could not recommend any higher!
Excellent, quick service for our bike. While it was being fixed my husband and I both found biking shorts - exactly what we were looking for!
They fixed a bike that my co-worker gave to me. It rides great. Also, they had the bicycle locks that I needed.
Great shop! I had bike fixed and the great service.
Awesome people! Very knowledgeable! Great selection! Took care of my needs on very short notice in a hurry! Would highly recommend this shop! Very trustworthy! 👍 Thank you guys for all you do!
Upside: staff seems knowledgableDownside: seemed rushed, not the big selection we hoped for. Maybe selling faster right now then they come in.Comments: If youre bike shopping would at least check them out.
Super helpful and rad! Thanks to Brian for helping me find the right bike.
Amazing customer service. I had some issues with my new bike that continued after bringing it back twice to be looked at. They fully refunded me money and were able to get on me onto a new bike even during this shortage of bikes. I would recommend Old Town Bike Shop to anyone looking to buy a bike or have work done.
Just picked up my first two full suspensions bike from these guys! They were very helpful and diligent with my tight tame frame today to come and pick everything up! You guys rock and will definitely continue to get my business!
Excellent service, great small business!
I understand that theres an epidemic of monstrous proportions currently ongoing in the world, but for the business that are open I hope they are still providing their services to the highest standard. I dont think I recieved the same. I called ahead to check if they were open, and went for a simple flat tire change. Although they completed the work in great time, I believe they were not thorough in inspecting the tire tread before replacing the tube. I ended up with a second flat tire before I made it home, and discovered the thorn was still embedded in my tire. Speed isnt everything...
Excellent service. Excellent health mandate compliance.
Very polite! Adjusted my bike while I waited. The lady helping me was so nice Ill definitely be returning.
SO adore this simply wonderful shop. They KNOW. They DO. They ARE. Theyre not alone. They are all heart and soul and ARE such a gift. Thank you always!!!
This is a great bike shop. I go in often to fix problems on my bike. Their prices at extremely fair to work on my bike and Ted usually fixes it it as I am standing there and I leave with a fixed bike. Very helpful and friendly.
This is mainly for customer service. Left bike in their shop for just a quote on repairs. I had to keep calling about it for two weeks and was told a few times that the mechanic would call me back that day, never did. Then Covid happens and the shop gets closed down without calling me. Somewhat understandable but a call would of been nice. Fast forward a few weeks and still no call so I had to call them and they’re open again. I go to pick it up and a guy can’t even find my bike and ends up bringing out the wrong one. Then the form that was filled out was actually over a month old so I could of got it much sooner. Communication with customers needs some work.
This shop lost my business on account of the rude and condescending behavior of the service manager. I asked a question about something that I wasnt familiar with, and I got my head ripped off by the service manager. It was as if I was questioning his intelligence. As a manager in working with the community, its your job to educate and provide stellar customer service. Your reputation stinks.
I just wanted to give the owner john a big shout out!! I got my first real bike!! (Surly bridge club). He is pleasant person to talk to and not like others just trying to sell a bike. As customer I found me my permanent bike shop in town. Thank you again and ill be comming back for more.
I am absolutely partial to this bicycle shop Id been to a few others to have my service needs addressed and decided Id give old town bicycle shop a whirl based on the telephone experience that led me here. My service advisor is amazing and he is well with mannerism and extremely knowledgeable. I havent met anyone like Ted. Words cannot describe his personality and working style I honest to God love him.Im having my third bicycle worked on here and will continue to support this establishment.
I just took my bicycle there to have some work done, they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and understood everything I needed from get go. Prices were exceptional,it took two to get my bike perfect, but it is just that...thanks guys.
The best bike shop and people of service on the planet.
My wife and I are flatlander road cyclists. We decided on Colorado Springs as a launching spot for a mountain bike trip. We rented two full suspension bikes here. Woman who dealt with us wrote a list of recommended trails, and a guy i back set up our bikes for us. Upon return, we chatted with a group of staff members about the trails we had done (outstanding. Kudos to Falcon trail on Air Force grounds). All really nice people with good stories. If I lived here they would be my LBS. Appreciated the experience with them.
This place is always targeted by the other bike shops at being high retail. Well thats not the case theyre very fair and professional. The lame bike shops down the street have poor attitudes and actually have higher prices. Always go to Old Town bike shop.
When you need the absolute best in service or sales, go to Old Town. The service shop do their best to make your bike new again. They will even attempt to repair parts of your bike instead of immediately suggesting to replace the whole part. The new bikes sold go through a comprehensive build that can be felt on a test ride. If you have no clue about bikes, you will not feel any judgment here. They are just stoked you want to pedal.
I am rather new to mountain biking and these guys are making it a wonderful experience. They will not sell you things you dont need. They adjusted my brakes and gears for free. I will be moving away from my entry level bike and buying something better from this place. I would highly recommend this place great service. Thanks guys!!
A quick tune up while I wait
Wow! Came here just to see if I could figure out what type of bike I wanted and they were so helpful I was able to take home the perfect ride! Tim and the rest of the staff explained all of the technical stuff I’m normally too afraid to ask about and we’re overall wonderful. Also if you’re looking to shop local, this is the place.
One of the best shops in the springs. Albeit in-store bicycle selection is limited, they do a great job at service. Very experienced. On par with other bests. Only place I go to other than Old Town is Criterium and Teds. Been going to all bike shops in the city for 17 years and Ive spent my 10,000 hours of experience on finding the best bike shop and for long-term commitment and staying one of the best, I value Old Town as being the best overall bike shop for services and friendliness, they are the least likely to change.
What a great bike shop! Friendly, helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond. Ive purchased two bikes here and highly recommend them.
I commute by bike to work downtown and dropped my bike off because my front wheel was very unbalanced. They were very friendly and had my bike ready to go for my commute home before I was off, and only for $20! Great shop, would recommend.
Got our 2 year old a balance bike today (toddler size bike with no training wheels and no peddles in case you dont know) and he is so in love with it! Custom service was ON POINT! They even aired up the tires for us before we left. I wont hesitate to shop here again.
Went in here today with my buddy who was looking to buy a bicycle.Tim helped us out and is the best salesman/associate Ive dealt with at any shop in town. Friendly, unbiased, and extremely helpful. I will be coming here regularly solely due to this dudes service today.
This shop stocks a good range of endurance style bikes. I wanted something a bit faster, and they helped me order in the bike I wanted. Service was great, and noone was pushy at all. Helpful staff!
Needed a new fork and these folks found me a new one for a reasonable price. My bike was good as new. Always great service at Old Town!
I really enjoyed coming to this bike shop. There was a really good selection of products, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and they were able to recommend some trails in the area. if I am ever in the area again I will visit the shop again.
The owner and his employees take pride at what they do. They deliver great customer service as well as outstanding knowledge on Bicycle etc. I will be recommending friends and family to this shop as well as continuing doing business with them!
I moved to CO Springs recently and didnt realize that there were thorns that would cause damage to the tires on my road bike. I have been to Old Town Bike Shop every time I have had an issue and the man that has helped me each time has been efficient and even taught me how to avoid the thorns and how to fix the tire myself if I choose to do so. I have also purchased miscellaneous items from them and they are always friendly and they always answer my questions and take time to help me. I recommend!
This is one of the oldest bike shops in the Springs. The staff knows their stuff and can point you too the best places to ride. They have a great service department.
Great local shop, definitely in touch with the community. Friendly, helpful folks. Nice selection too.
Just bought a bike from there today and the service was wonderful. Paul helped us through the whole proccess. He spent over an hour helping me pick out and adjusting the bike from the seat, to adjusting the handlebars. Even helped me pick out helmets, gloves, maintenance kits, and tubes. I know little to nothing about bikes so he gave me a great start into the biking world.
Amazing Owner and Employees!! They will take the time to help you with any thing you may be having a problem with. After being closed an hour the owner came in to help us fix our bikes. An incredible local bike shop!!
Went in on 4/13. Waited a few minutes for a sales rep to assist me (no big deal) I was looking for something in the $400 range. I explained that to the sales rep. I also mentioned that I would like a bike with a 300lb weight capacity. He then proceeded to tell me that NO manufacturer issues a weight capacity for any bike. And that NO bike is guaranteed to hold my weight.(didnt ask for a guarantee.) All bikes have a weight capacity (usually 250lb or 300lb.it was probably in the booklet that comes with the bike.) So they obviously dont know there product very well or they were so in convenienced by such a small sale, that it wasnt worth looking into. Either way I kindly told them to have a nice day and left without a new bike...
Extremely helpful. Had to find some hardware and they got me hooked up. They seem to have a large inventory as well. Kicking myself for not checking them out sooner.
Once again, I must commend Ted for his cordial, competent and patient service of which my bike and I were the beneficiaries! I came in unannounced, and Ted accorded me attention right away, assessing my problem and fixing it. I feel very comfortable in this relationship. Bravo, Ted!
Awesome crew, helped me pick out my first high end bike and I feel like they did me right! Thank you
Just dropped in to buy some AVID brake pads and they were priced at about $23/set, much to my surprise! Shopped online for the exact same part, about $13. So much for shopping local, I should have know better but was in a hurry, and did not think they would be ripping customers off THAT BADLY! Next time, know better!
Every bike shop has the same bikes. You should go to this place because the people are awesome. Tim (I think?) was very knowledgeable, didnt try to upsell me, and didnt treat me as if I didnt know anything. He made sure the bike I wanted fit me right, and would be good to go right out of the shop. I happily spent my money with them, and will do so again, when my boy needs a new bike.
Excellent service went to repair my brakes on my walker Bryan in service was very helpful and he did not take him very long to accomplish the task I recommend this for anybody that needs help with their brakes.
Remarkable service. A little pricy on the parts, but the labor was basically free. A good, clean, hassle free experience
Good people and a nice ride. I rented a bike. Zero hassles. No issues. And some good trail beta.
Old Towns staff are always knowledgeable and friendly. Full service, locally oriented bike shop. Solid selection of bikes. Old town worked together with other local shops to get my bike back on the trails.
Drove up from pueblo the other night and got to the shop at 6pm. When i pulled up they were changing the open sign to closed and still offered to help me. I brought my bike in and they swapped my wheels and fixed a cable. I wish more retail businesss treated their customers this way. thanks to the entire team...............BOOM
Very clean, modern, professional . City, cruiser and street type bikes. Nice people easy to find, excellent mechanics.
Really nice people who works there. I was in the middle of a cycling trip across America and I had a problem with my gears. We just stopped there wishing they could help. The immediately help me and solved the problem. They were all super helpful and friendly. Thank you so much !
Went in there about two times during a ride for a quick trueing job. The staff was very helpful and were quick to get me back on the road. Good people and awesome service!
Nice Shop, good selection, friendly staff, and average prices.Went back in repair my brakes they were very helpful.
This place is amazing! Ive never had a bad experience here.
Best bike shop anywhere. The people are the best. Can I get a job there?
Great people, allowed me to clean their windows to take care of my family
Bicycles sold out ... maybe they will be in a month ...
Fantastic bike shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff, awesome selection of bikes, clothing, parts, and accessories, talented mechanics, and cool solar powered old building in downtown Colorado Springs.
Best shop in town, hands down! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Love my bike very helpful staff great selection.
I wanted to convert my DT Swiss mountain bike wheels to tubeless, so I went to Old Town Bike Shop to buy some materials. The bike mechanic suggested I buy an overpriced DT Swiss tubeless conversion kit, which he recommended over less expensive rim tape. He reasoned that I would not want to worry about my wheels suddenly losing air pressure on a ride and that I should purchase the kit that the DT Swiss engineered for the wheel. Of course, I declined and bought the less expensive rim tape. I have had zero problems with that rim tape in the two years that I used it on my DT Swiss wheels. Any bike shop worth its salt will try and save its customers money instead of trying to pawn off overpriced inventory that it otherwise cannot get rid of. Also, bike parts at the shop are overpriced in general. I would not go back here to get my bike serviced or otherwise.
I walked in on a Saturday to ask about a Cannondale Trail 4(17 or 18) to replace my aging 1993 hardtail. I was curtly told that they didnt carry that model in stock and I would have to special order it in order to just test ride it. Yes, special order BUY a $1000 bike just in order to test ride it. Sorry, but if have to special order it blindly with no test ride, why would I use you as a middle man?? Sorry, Im getting tired of trying to shop local and finding poor customer service and poor selection. Judging by the ultra high dollar bikes on display, I see Im not the intended clientele anyhow. Sorry folks, Im not in the market to buy a $4000-$10,000 bike. I bought my first Cannondale in 1993 at Old Town when they were located on Colorado. I wont be returning. Once again, Ill be going to that big chain store. You lost my business.
One of the cleats on my mountain bike shoes was stuck, and I was unable to get it loose. The guy at Old Town had the correct tools and got the screws loose, at no charge. Ive always been happy with Old Town and will continue to go there for repairs.
Awesome shop! Really helped be in a pinch! Excellent knowledge and service! Thank you!
Great place and good people to help you. These folks know and love bikes.
I like Old Town. I like the people, I like the no pressure way they treat customers. I like that they stock a lot of parts so I can often get what I need without ordering it. They dont hover, so if you need something, just ask.
I walked in with a broken bike that had an easy fix, and walked out ten minutes later with a fixed bike and a safety check at no charge. Highly recommend, thank you so much!
Friendly - honest - fast - encouraging more women to ride. Excellent bike shop!
I recommend them for service! Took both bikes in for tubes and tires and one a full tune up and was out about $100 less than ascent over off powers!
The selection is great and pricing was right on. It was hard to leave with just what I came for.
Friendliest Bike Shop in town. I have personally been to them all, Criterium being the worst. My sales rep was Mike and he was very very helpful in selecting a bike. I ended up purchasing something different than I wanted, but I am far happier with the outcome. A couple months later my cables stretched a bit and the shifter caused my chains to rub on other components. I brought my bike in and they immediately fixed the issue without an additional charge as a part of their maintenance guarantee. The staff here is incredibly friendly, and if your a chunkier person concerned about how you will be viewed looking for your bike, you have no need to fear, this store is by far the best Clydes friendly store in town (Criterium being the worst), they treat you with respect, and are not pushy in the least bit.
This is a bike shop i go to purely out of necessity. The staff is knowledgeable however it doesnt come out in a freindly inteligent way. I always feel like im being belittled and they will happily sell you items you dont need. I went in to buy a chain and I couldnt figure out how to put it on myself, I went back and was told its almost an impossible task to match the chain with the cog, and i would need to buy a 50$ part to make my chain fit. I desparingly agreed and the man went about his work. After 30 mins I recived my bike back without the 50 dollar part he was trying to have me take home and install, why did it not come back with this part? Turns out that the chain he had sold me was too thick where it joined to feed through the essentially derailer that he was trying to sell me so he just went ahead and fit my chain without it which he could have done the whole time and yet decided i needed to drop 50 dollars on a stupid part that wouldnt have worked. It absolutely breaks my heart to roast a local buisness especially one thats been around so long, but im a person im not a money sign and here i feel like just that a money sign. And i this is just one instance but ive watched them do it to friends and been apart of it, so im under the impression this is the excprience everyone gets. If you need to restore your mobility they will be there, and you can do it, but id suggest another local bike shop if youre looking to be treated as a human being.
Ted is the Obi-Wan Kenobi of bike mechanics kudos for a job always well done
This is by far my favorite bike shop with the best customer service in Colorado.
Fixed my break that popped out no charge! Honest people!
Great place to find all you need on bikes
Great bike shop. Very good service and friendly staff.
They sell great bikes at OTBS but my recent experience tells me to not rely on them for service. My Gary Fisher was there for eight weeks waiting for a part. Each time we stopped in they admitted that they had forgotten to order it. Finally my wife went in to get the bike to take it somewhere else and they took a part off of another bike and fixed mine. Why couldnt they do that eight weeks ago? Its frustrating to have hours of driving back and forth from Manitou to pick up the bike only to find out that it wasnt fixed yet, and to have missed half the summer of mountain biking because of the inattention of the OTBS staff.
A little pricey, but super knowledgeable staff, lots of inventory, and very friendly. Its my go-to shop in town.
Outstanding service with a friendly knowledge staff!
Good people
So helpful you wont believe it
Amazing customer service, and very knowledgeable.
The young lady with short hair was very rude to my wife, she just sat on a bike and moved it maybe three feet and she yells across the store that she cant ride it in here, it was very embarrassing, we were serious buyers but decided to find a friendlier dealer due that incident
Very helpful employees here.
Still the best bike shop in the Springs
Favorite bike shop in town.
Best bike shop in town!
