Stood up by two different sales people (one on Sat. 10/30 and another on Mon. 11/1) without any explanation, and spent hours waiting and working through ADTs IVR attempting to resolve. Basically wasted a good chunk of our weekend waiting in vain. On top of things, we also encountered a horrible CSR during that time that was both confrontational and extremely unprofessional. Based on these (and other) truly miserable customer experiences, we opted not to upgrade our equipment, and will be leaving ADT for another provider when our contract ends Aug. 22. Absolutely epic customer experience fail. The only bright spot of note was our installer, who was awesome.

We bought a home that has ADT we thought great let’s activate it. The technician comes over after sitting here for over 6 hours he comes to me and says guess what AT&T is down you get a new system. This was around 6:00 p.m. he had to leave and grab something for Verizon he said we would have them from nowOn. At the time I did not know if you get a new system you could get a door bell camera as advertised. He installs our now new service and then barley goes over anything and leaves.We could not get My husband on the app. we called ADT we Could not add his phone we did not know How to log on to actual sight Because the technician failed To put my email in correctly. I had to get a technician to come back Jordan.They also had me Speak with a boss his name Was Chris he told me to be happy that I got a new system and his customer service skills were lack there of. Chris I’m guessing a regional manager never apologized or said what can I do for you nothing. I askedChris for his boss and to have him callOr give me His number do you think anyone has called or reached out to me NO.Then ADT wanted to send the same technician over my house. The technician called me before the appointment and said to me if I have to come Back so Soon that hurts my numbers. I was very uncomfortable that he would call on a weekend at night. I was uneasy so I told ADT I don’t want that gentleman back at my house to send a new technician. I want to make this clear Jordan the new technician did a good Job and was very professional and helpful answered all of my questions my husbands questions walked us thru the website and got my husband on the app and gave me the right email so I could getOn. I would not recommend this company to anyone after buying a house and moving around for 20 years with the USAF this is our dream house and we were looking forward to working with ADT in our security of Our home. NowI dread dealing with them and or calling and or who will come to help the next time.

Bait and Switch!!!!!I received a flyer in the mail for a free video doorbell and $100 gift card. After speaking to a very nice representative, I was told I would get all services and two cameras installed for a total of $34.99 a month.The technician called repeatedly to come out before our scheduled appointment and we relented and allowed them to come out four days early.Upon arriving the technician was very nice but commenced to tell us the phone rep 100% lied to us and it would be closer to $90 a month.It seems the phone rep had charged us for the “free” video doorbell, some lamp she had never mentioned, and numerous other charges.I called to receive a refund for the initial charge and was hung up on twice.I am now waiting on my refund.

I had ADT at my last house in another state. My first house in my new location already had Vivint, so I gave them a try at that house. VERY poor performance of cameras, tech even needed to be recalled to get it working with an extended and to install an upgraded cell system in their control panel. But with my new permanent address, I had ADT upgrade the panel and add 2 more contacts and camera and checked out the system. ADTs tech was far more experienced (worked for ADT for 20+ yrs) got the job done and explained everything as he went through the install. I would NEVER recommend Vivint. I will always recommend ADT !!!

Mike Peters is the best service technician I’ve ever worked with. He went way beyond the call of duty installing our smart lock yesterday.To begin with, he was given the wrong lock--nickel satin finish-- instead of the bright brass we asked for.Mike got the right lock by driving all the way back to the office. Then he installed it and patiently answered our questions and showed us how to use it, and the all-important, app.

The BIGGEST SCAM ARTIST of them all!!..I will NEVER EVER EVER work with ADT again!..If you value your money I would NOT buy any service with them AT ALL!!…Was told that I had a good deal with no contract involved ..I tried to cancel my service and found out they put me in a 5 year contract and asking $1k to get out of contract …I’m in the military and constantly moving so I stay away from contracts and told them that. They didn’t care AT ALL AND TRICKED ME into a contract so over it!..Lesson learned will NEVER work with them again I will to know how

My husband who is active duty has order and we need to cancel ADT . I have called for 2 hours, and everyone keeps hanging up on me when I ask to please cancel my service. Everytime you call it is a 30 min wait to speak to a cancelation specialist. Only 1 minutes to start new service. I called this location directly and they hung up on me as well. Sooo I guess I will call my bank next since no one is helping me out.Do not waste your time.

If I could give it a 0 or a negative number I’d be the first!!!! ADT has Horrible service, and over priced useless equipment! If you’re looking for reliability, consistency and some sort of peace or mind, DO NOT CONSIDER ADT as anyone of those things! The only thing that’s been consistent is the stickers not falling off the windows ohhh and the BILL, of course!!! Everything else USELESS! Let’s pray the home intruder doesn’t use this service in his own home because I’m doomed for sure! I can’t wait for this contract to End!

Its rediculous that for the first 8 months I didnt have an alarm permit which meant no police or ems responses and I only found out when I had an alarm triggered while I was away. The police called back and said they wont respond because ADT didnt file the correct paperwork. Now I have to pay for that permit and its 2x as expensive as what my county charges for one. ALSO in the city and state codes of where I live, the the alarm company is suppose to cover that cost. And then ADT blue gets launched and I cant switch over without buying all new equipment. ADT just rips people off. As soon as my contract is up, I will no longer be a customer. Whatever you do. Go with Simplisafe or a self monitoring company. Better you do it yourself and save a fortune.

This company used to be really good, over time it has lost its good reputation and now I know why. I called at my 3yr. Contract end( was told by installer it was a 2 yr.) however at that time I was offered a deal of 19.99 for 6 months. This was to start in April, however I was charged an odd amount, same in May and Jun. Every time I called I got the same response, oh I see the note let me see what I can do. From my calculations 6mo. From April is Sept. I guess they count differently.In July i was charged the 19.99. Come Aug. I was charged a completely different price. Then full price in Sept.! Again Im calling to cancel now and get told that I have to pay for 30, days and theyll give me a credit ( of my own overpayment) and then cancel my acct. After arguing I told them to just cancel it and how would I be getting the other half if what they pulled from my acct.? I was told once they process the cancellation, and I sign confirming I will be emailed how I will recieve my credit. This is also after me calling several times telling them one of my alarms is offline, I had changed the battery before calling and I was told they could send a tech out but I would be charged a service fee! For their failing equipment! BEWARE AND ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS!!

A salesman came to our door to sell us ADT. As these people are RELENTLESS, coming to our door OVER and OVER, and making snide remarks of how im a Hard women to get a hold of, Out of kindness, We let him toss his pitch, thinking hed leave us alone after we told him we werent interested. That was Our FIRST mistake. I wish I would have never opened that door. We decided to go with the trial of ADT to see how we liked it, as the salesman recommended, under the impression we had 30 days to see how it fit in our life style Risk free. Not only did this sales man, COME INTO MY HOME WITH NO PPE, but didnt give me the time to READ what he asked to to sign, and when I asked he said it wasnt important and had me sign what I NOW know to be a CONTRACT anyways. He made me very uncomfortable. Our SECOND mistake. On to installation. The system seemed to be okay itself, but the technician was not only LATE but also had NO MASK IN MY HOME, IN A PANDEMIC! On top of that it took FOUR HOURS to install very small items. The tech was rude and honestly made me feel uneasy. We let it sliding thinking it would all be worth it. WRONG! So after living with the system for a matter of days, we realized it wasnt for our family and it STRESSED US OUT BAD! So we tried to cancel the ADT service, now being a week in, but was an absolute nightmare! It was always connecting to another person. I was transferred SO many times after a long wait time, it was very frustrating. After the fourth transfer we were told we had buy the phone agent we had but THREE days to change our minds on the system AND we needed.to submit the request in writing to ADT. Information relayed MUCH too late. Furthermore outside of those parameters, the only other option was a BUY OUT of a $1600 contract, That I feel I wasnt allowed to fully understand! We were locked into a 36 MONTH, yes friends THREE YEAR, contract without even knowing it! I feel cheated, lied to and absolutely DISGUSTED! If I had ANY solid ground to sue I would. 0/10 would NEVER Recommend!! I dont even want any money back at this point i just want to cancel service and pretend all this never happened. IF YOU SEE THESE PEOPLE AT YOUR DOOR, SLAM IT HARD LOCK IT BEHIND YOU. Please!

Im having nothing but problems with them. Most of the time at night my doorbell dont work. And then on the website it wont let me delete anything. And the app doesnt show any saved videos anymore. If I could give them no stars I would. This is the worst decision I ever made. I wish I could cancel but Im locked in which I was never told about

A salesman came to our door to sell us ADT. I asked him what the difference between ADT and Ring was, he told us that ring is a terrible company and can be easily hacked. We believed him and let him continue his pitch. We decided to go with the trial of ADT to see how we liked it. They system seemed to be okay BUT they installed a RING doorbell camera. After the salesman talked about how terrible ring is, they came and installed ring products. Why would I pay $60/month for ring products when through their company it’s way cheaper. Trying to cancel the ADT service was an absolute terrible experience as well. No one knew what to say always connecting to another person, just for them to say the department that handles cancellations was closed. Had to call for three days in a row to finally get answers and they were extremely rude to us. 10/10 would not recommend.

Really disappointed in the product as well. Good luck trying to get this company to resolve any issues you have (and you WILL have issues).

Our technician, Jonathan, was the most unprofessional and inconsiderate employee I have ever worked with. He was rude from the get-go and took about 4.5 hours to do what was scheduled for 2 hours. He did not hesitate to take a 30 minute bathroom break while on the job and, while working on “technical difficulties” invited himself to lounge on the couch despite everything going on with COVID.Whether you believe in COVID or not, his extended stay and lack of care when interacting with our personal belongings was absolutely uncalled for.We will be changing from ADT as soon as our next billing period.

Same situation as the other customer @nyasiaa major. The lady that sold the system to us brainwashed us to believe her. Didnt know about the 36months agreement and trying to cancel it is a nightmare I could go on and on but no point of doing so.. my front and back camera wasnt even working everytime we call for them to come look at it they always come up with an excuse and to just walk us thru it over the phone. I asked kindly to cancel it just cuz im moving and wont need it anymore at the new place Im going to still they wont listen I wouldnt recommend this to anyone..

My family and I have been with adt on and off my whole life. And never have a ever experienced issues like I am now. The equipment is constantly going down and it takes a week or longer to get a tech out. And when the tech came out he didn’t have new equipment so he put old equipment in and told me just call back when this equipment fail. I’m paying for the feeling of protection for my family and adt is not doing it for me now. But the know they hold a monopoly over the security game and they do as they like other our safety but oh goosh don’t pay the bill me see what happens.

I was actually considering it and said I would need to discuss with family and he just turned and walked away without saying anything and I asked for a card, he said Nope, just looking to fill a slot right now. If this is how they treat people BEFORE they are customers, I cant imagine how terrible they treat them once they are actual customers...

Would not contract for cameras or long-term security services. I have over a year left on our contract and cant use the cameras unless we pay for someone to come out and physically hit the reset button.. its cheaper for me to go buy another Ring camera to replace . Initially ADT was cheaper than Xfinity - but now they are more expensive and the cameras have poor visibility and recording

Was given an OLD/OUTDATED system that does not work! Called ADT several times to have my system changed out and updated! Also have filed a Complaint with BBB! Will be contacting and canceling under BREACH OF CONTRACT! Adt system dies immediately when power goes out... should not do with. SYSTEM also does not work with other devices as it should! technicians have come and they can’t fix issue!ADT has been sued for breach of contract by home owners! If this is not resolved I will be contacting my insurance and notifying them of breech of contract as well as sending written notice to ADT of breach of contract in which they legally can not keep you in a contract! Pure fraud! We had ADT in kansas city, when we moved to CO we were told to take the equipment with us. Of course when we get here, we are told otherwise and they would not let us use the equipment we purchased for 2k AND they were going to make us buy all new equipment AND charge us for install which we were told we would not have to do...I cannot believe the ignorance and stupidity they have shown, its unreaI. Filed a complaint with BBB and all they can respond with is well, we tried to contact the customer? Why is this even relevant? Anyway, end of rant but do not use ADT!

The lack of customer service is beyond belief. Ive called everyday for a week asking to speak to someone to cancel my account all I get is a standard Im sorry that depart does not have a number but if youll send an email with your request we will be sure to reach out. The system itself keeps going off every night because of connection failure or low batteries on a wired in system. I have 3 little ones who are freaking out everything. Horrible experience!

My fiance requested information and then ADT proceeded to call her nearly ten times in a day and left a handful of messages... For real? Talk about killing a sale.To make matters even worse and quite frankly, creepy, an older ADT Salesman showed up at our door last night at 7 PM. As a sales professional myself, nothing could have been a bigger turn off.Wouldnt do business with this company if it was the only option around.Update: its literally 8PM and another ADT Salesman showed up at my door. Terrible system that doesnt function as advertised. Base station decides it will disconnect randomly and start alerting me. Did not want a contract for this long with them either and definitely do not wish to stay with them because I have a much better security system that costs me a fraction of qhat these people charge me. It is very unfortanate because I remember my family always having ADT but now I can imagine anyone in my family being safe with this piss poor excuse of a system.

When my husband and I moved into our home we obviously wanted a home security system and unfortunately jumped the gun and went with ADT. At first it was fine, but now that we are having issues, they are our issues not theirs. I called because my cameras all of a sudden stopped working and have not worked since before Christmas and they cannot help me unless I log in and look at why myself. Why would I call technical support if they cannot help me with technical support? One top of that one Representative promised me a no charge technician coming out to look at it and the last Representative said there was no note of that so it would be $135 for a half hour and $35 for every 15 minutes after. Why am I paying for your team to look at YOUR cameras when its not my fault they stopped recording? On top of it all, the last Representative I spoke to, Michael, kept cutting me off and would not let me get a full sentance out before inserting his professional opinion . The level of service I have recieved from them is unbelievably bad, and I cannot wait to cancel our plan. I can explain exactly what is happening but until I log onto the stupid third party website, I wont recieve any help.Side note, my husband just called and talked to a great representative named Scott who took care of his needs and explained that they can in fact see whats going on and can walk us through some trouble shooting over the phone so who knows, maybe Michael was just sexist and didnt want to help because he assumed I was a stupid woman.

This company is not as amazing as it needs to be when it comes to their billing. I have called many times about billing issues, and have different representatives giving me different information. If I pay on the end of the month, some will say that Im paying for the next month, then again, some say Im paying for the past month...?When I ask for a refund, they give an excuse that itll take 2 weeks to get it processed so (and I quote a representative) you might as well wait for the next bill date and you wont have to pay for the following month. Then why did I get billed for the following month?Between some representatives that dont know how the billing actually goes, something needs to change. Cant wait for this contract to end, and wont be using them again.

They have the logs showing the error but wont let me know what needs to be done unless I pay them to say.

Just dont...I was a loyal customer for 3 years. I always paid my bill, I never bothered or complained to them about anything. I moved out of my house less than a month before my 36 month contract ended and had to cancel. They dragged me through the MUD. They claimed I made a password that I know I never did because it has zero relation to anything in my life. They told me that my husband was not on the account which is also a lie because he is the one who filled out the paperwork. It was absolute hell. All of this because I moved out of my house.

I have been with Adt for 4 years total now using them for all homes I have lived in and also just referred the business I work for to them as well and how they repay me is fraudulently taking $426.18 from me and refusing to refund it. I just moved out of our house a month ago and our system at our old house btw was $2,000 so I would say I’m a good customer. Anyhow we have been staying with my family while we waited for our new home to close on June 3rd which would put us one month in between the two homes. However during this time I signed another contract with a local rep for service and a bunch more features at our new home and paid a $300 down payment. I had them recurved a letter in the mail stating that they were about to deduct $726.18 from my account in a few days for termination of my contract which I wasn’t terminating I was already signed up to be with them again at the new place. I called customer service and she said that she see’s I am relocating with them and said don’t worry about the letter and disregard because they know you are relocating and keeping service. Well low and behold two days later they deducted $426.18 from my bank. I realized with that amount of money plus the $300 I had paid for my new system that it equaled the contract termination fee of $726.18. I called them right away and she said she see’s that it shouldn’t be charged and sent it in to be refunded which I received a confirmation email saying they would refund the money within ten days. Well 15 days later I still had not seen my refund so I called back this evening and she looked it up and said it had been denied. She confirmed that she can see that I am relocating and that the charge should have never happened and she will resubmit it but she doesn’t know if it will go through. I am so frustrated!! Even my new rep who gave me the estimate and took my $300 knows about it but has done nothing to try to fix it for me. I have never seen a company that would treat a loyal customer like this and refuse to give back a charge they admit should never have happened. At this point my views have totally changed on Adt and I am scared to even continue with them because they seem to be very shady and care less about stealing money from loyal customers. I emailed my rep yet again but have no faith it will be taken care of! All I know is that my new home installation appointment is in a week and no way am I giving them the other half of total for the new install if they are still holding $426.18 of my money fraudulently! Very disappointed and shame on Adt as they use to be a great company and somehow obviously got lost!!

When you cancel your service, make sure you do it a full thirty days out, or youll be paying for monitoring in a house you dont even own any more. They dont care about your concerns, and theres no way around it. The main office cant do anything to speed up the process, and said it all depends on how lazy the colorado springs office decides to be. Apparently taking the full thirty days to enter the cancellation into a computer seems acceptable to them.

Long contract, terrible equipment, uncaring customer service, paid service calls (even when it’s their equipment at fault), and very long cancellation process. Our installers damaged a wall, which in ADT World is our fault somehow, and they refused to reimburse or fix. I guess its our fault for going with ADT.Get a Nest or other home security. Better and cheaper tech by a lot.

Oh hi Gabe- I appreciate the auto response but I actually filed a complaint with ADT corporate rep Crystal J. at extension 1126734 the day the Springs manager lied to me and stole my money. She said not only do I have to wait for a refund, I have to wait an additional 15 days since I paid ACH draft. Your deceptive business practices ensure that your company can keep my money just long enough to meet your sales goals.... getting warmer??? Guess what- You are stealing from me as I told Paul and the CS manager to stop payment and order within hours of the visit. Don’t worry, will have time to file my AG complaint this weekend!Filing a complaint with the Colorado attorney generals office. Salesman Paul and his Colorado Springs manager stole over $500 from me. They may view it as ok as they try to meet their sales numbers for the month however they need to be identified for what they are... thieves. Canceled my order within hours of the salesperson coming to my house and told him not to process the order or cash my check. “Manager” calls 10 minutes later and told him the same. Three days later my check clears and they email a confirmed installation appt. I call the manager and leave a VM. He calls back and told me it was automatic that they charge me and he personally requested a refund the same day I canceled. I told him I didn’t believe him on the phone and he told me I could call billing. I called billing and Carlos said the Manager requested the refund right before calling me back 3 days later. These people have no problem asking you about your military service then stealing from you a week before Veterans Day. Surprise! Just find out now they won’t refund for 15 more days! I went with A do it yourself product and didn’t have to talk to any liars!

Its been a more than a week since I cancelled the installation and requested my deposit back. It took 39 seconds to take my money, but a week or longer to return it??Oh... and Terry, the sales rep they sent me? Who continued to harass me for days after I asked him to please refund my money? Yeah, you call me again and I swear to Jesus Im pressing charges for stalking and harassment.ADT....Give me back my money. I wish I wouldve read the reviews. They are super overpriced and give you minimal equipment and want to charge you your life savings to add anything else. They will take your money and not give you squat for it. And dont even think about trying to get out of your contract, they make it impossible and charge you an astronomical amount for that too! I had them for less than 2 weeks and was unhappy and they REFUSED to work with me, but tried to sell me more equipment? They are terrible. SHOP AROUND!!!

AVOID! Lies and high pressure sales tactics from the first phone call to the end. First they insisted on a SSN so they could run a security check before visiting our house to assess our needs and provide an estimate. Once we convinced them to provide an estimate over the phone, the installer would not honor the estimate. He didnt tell us he would not honor the estimate until he spent 6 hours installing and explaining the system to us. At 10pm when I asked him to remove the security system, he recommended we keep the system overnight and all we needed to do was call him in the morning if we still wanted it uninstalled. The next day when we called, the local dealer (Defender Security) insisted we fax (not email) the notice of cancellation. After sending the fax and making 3 phone calls, Defender has still refused to schedule the equipment removal. Weve already scheduled Xfinity home security to install their security system. Thus far, Xfinity is professional, honest and cheaper!
