Delicious! One of the finest Mediterranean food I have had. The falafel sandwich, mushkil plate and lentil soup were amazing. Very flavorful. The French fries were very crunchy and Baklava was superb! They are also very kind and provide free meals to those in need. You can also sponsor a meal :) Kindness above all!Couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Stop in to the Taste of Jerusalem restaurant to get a sandwich which was the ultimate, had a little bit of everything in it. Ive been going there for seven years now when I lived downtown, off and on mostly, off unfortunately. a nice little place on Bijou Street just before Cascade right by the UPS Store and highly recommended. Family friendly, comfortable, easygoing place. The food was great, at that time there was about 10 people in and out while I was waiting for my sandwich. Price was reasonable.
Hands down the best Greek food in the state in my opinion. Also they do a lot for the Colorado Springs community so you should definitely grab a bite to eat here. The baklava is just like my grandmother used to make.
One of the few places in my life where Ive had amazing Mediterranean food! The lentil soup was truly amazing - flavor was subtle yet very rich. I got the lamb plate which was also amazing. The French fries that came along with it was super crunchy yet soft on the insideThe baklava was also super scrumptious! Would def visit multiple times if Im a local!
Havent eatn here yet. But delivered for them 4x now, love the sign on your door! No money No problem come on in thats the best thing I ever seen! 4/5 just cause I b cant say anything about the eats here
The food is amazing. Staff was very nice. So glad they help the local food insecure residents. Good all around!!
5★++..Absolutely love this place... Just happened to stop in for lunch and wow are we glad we did... Got the beef kebab and the lamb kebab...Phenomenal ... Everything was excellent.. The prices are good and its a beautiful little place..Very clean very quaint very nice atmosphere with authentic and wonderfully flavored food ...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 👍😁👍.. We will definitely return..
I’ve been here a couple times and I love this place! All the food is fantastic! My favorite is the fattoush salad. The dressing is amazing! Their hummus is also delicious. We normally go and get a ton of sides because we want to eat everything! I can not recommend enough! They also provide food for those in need which is incredibly sweet, and considering this isn’t a large restaurant, it is even more impressive. The space is a bit of a hole in the wall, but the food is so good that I can’t complain about anything. Go and check it out!!!
After a very long time, I had a really good chicken shawarma. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend this place.
Wow food is excellent. Vegetarian options.
This place was absolutely awesome... Me and my friend stopped here on our travels... We both thought it was very incredible food.. and kind people.
I had the chicken shawarma sandwich. It was amazing. The chicken was so tender and juicy. Few of my friends had the chicken/gyro combo sandwich & gyro sandwich. It was delicious.
The mishkool plate and lentil soup were one of the finest meals I’ve ever eaten. All the food we ordered was delicious. They are also kind enough to provide free feed to homeless folks. The service was also good :) can’t recommend this place more
An amazing place for middle eastern food. They have good vegetarian options. The falafel plate was pretty good, and the lentil soup was out of the world. We liked it so much that we asked the server for the recipe
After looking at the rating we decided to give it a try. Although on the maps it was mentioned there is an option for dining in, it was only take out. The turkish Coffee was brewed with Coffee Machine instead of Ibrik ( as shown in the photos), so it didnt have the desired richness and thikness and I found that out as soon as I had the first seep. They gave me a refund for that. I would have given them 4 stars for the food if they were nicer to the customers. We did not feel welcomed there; that is why in contrary to my more easygoing behavior I requseted a refund on the coffee; I thought it is a way to show them they have to be more careful in how they treat their customers.
What a gem. Absolutely delicious
Try to eat here every time I am in town, have never been let down!
God bless this business the food is delicious and it taste fresh and the staff is friendly caring and loving thank you taste of Jerusalem for feeding me and my family I will definitely be back 😌💕
I’m finally getting around to reviewing this place. It’s small and easy to pass up but worth trying out. The staff is friendly and the resturant is clean. I usually get the ultimate plate or the vegetarian plate but today I tried something new, the chicken curry. It was fantastic and full of flavor. It was a generous serving and it could have easily fed both my husband and myself. It had heat but not too much. I don’t eat a lot of meat but I’d eat this again. We also enjoyed the baklava. It was good but I have had better. Although I believe that is a preference thing. Check them out, Yum!
Really good food. We also like the buy a meal for the hungry option. My only complaint every time is the cleanliness. The menus are sticky and the tables and booths have leftover crumbs of food that has been missed when they wiped down. Still good food and worth it.
Wow, this is good stuff. Some of the same dishes as other Mediterranean restaurants, but differently spiced. You need to try this place. Get the ultimate plate. Youre welcome.Abdul, the owner is a hard working dude. Really nice guy too. Give him some business.
Nice, great people, serving some of the best guiros I have ever tasted.
I had seen a TV program about foods in Jerusalem. So I googled and found Taste of Jerusalem. I ordered an Ultimate Plate to sample multiple items. It looked like more food than I could eat, but it all tasted so good that I ate everything. It tasted so fresh and was seasoned really well. The food was all excellent and the one person running the front was so pleasant. I will highly recommend eating here.
Authentic Mediterranean food. Try the Vegetarian plate, it was very flavorful and the quantity was just perfect. I will definitely visit again
Got two ultimate plates for take out for me and my boyfriend. Had planned on taking pics but the aromas on the car ride home were too enticing to wait any longer. The beef/lamb was shaved and very tender and nicely spiced. The chicken was in grilled pieces, also good flavor. Came with delicious falafel, hummus and cucumber salad, all perfect for making little wraps with the mini pita. Was kind of expecting it to be a little larger for the price but the quality made up for it.
I highly not recommended.. i went with my friends and they missed up our orders. we got different meals from whatve ordered. Some orders were missing. Beside we found a hair in the salad.
I work here. Its very fun and the best first place i couldve ever worked.
Great food and always top notch service!
Weve been eating here for a number of years, and weve sadly watched a continuous decline in the dining experience, service, and quality of food. This is no longer a place to go have dinner. When we first started going, they had wait staff like a regular restaurant. They now seem to only want to cater to the delivery services (Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc) or to people who want carry out.Not only do they no longer have wait staff, they seem to only have two people in the building. Someone to take orders at the front counter, and one person cooking (or maybe the guy from the front has to run back and do the cooking??).We arrived Friday night at 5:40pm and ordered three appetizers and four meals. We told them we wanted to stay and dine in.After one hour and ten minutes, we still did not have appetizers or food.I finally said something to the young man up front, telling him one in our party has to leave by 7pm.He brought us to-go appetizers shortly afterwards, in styrofoam containers. The dolmas were good. Falafels were ice cold and terrible.Babaganoush was ok.We then got our four meals a little while later. Again, packaged in sytrofoam, and we had to use cheesy, cheap plastic cutlery in little packets for a picnic. Our oldest son didnt get to eat, as he had to leave. My wifes salad was wilty and decaying. It should have been in the dumpster, not served to a customer.None of the food was good, like it used to be.Again, falafels on our plates were ice cold and obviously had not been prepared in the kitchen. Maybe frozen???As a restaurant owner, I am willing to be patient in difficult times. Weve supported this restaurant through the Covid timeframe, even though the quality of food and service has been on a steep decline. But this weekend, the food made us sick.Literally physically ill.On top of terrible service. On top of insane wait times. On top of a terrible dine in experience (non-existent).So weve made our decision. Well not be back again. Not because of one experience, but because of intentional degradation of service and food quality over a 2-3 year period, beginning long before Covid hit.Another one bites the dust.
Really friendly service and great food.
Great food and friendly service. And they help feed the hungry and underprivileged. You get great food and support a decent business...
Really nice cafe with delicious food typical of the Mediterranean region. Ordered the dolma and falafel for apperizers which was delicious. Fresh tzatziki sauce accompanied it. I had the Lamb platter which is served with rice, pita bread and hummus. Everything was immaculate and exactly how I remembered from my travels to that part of the world. Happy to have something similar in the Springs now! Definitely recommended.
Well Im poor and never have money and this place has on the door a sign no money no problem come on in so that speaks volumes to me I may not have tried their food but theyre getting four stars. Just for that!
New to Colorado. Took a day trip to the Springs with my mom & sister-in-law. I can only have liquid or blended food due to post double jaw surgery. Owner recommended lentil soup. I was also able to eat just the hummus. This is seriously the best hummus I’ve ever had ....and I spent 2.5 weeks in Israel about 2 years ago...and this place still has the best hummus . I got a curry chicken to go & blended it when I got home .lol. This food is bursting with flavor ! This is worth my drive from Pueblo. I will be coming back here ! Oh, the owner is a super nice guy ! He feeds the homeless !
I went in for dinner with some friends before the downtown Holiday Stroll. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture before it was gone! The waitress was super friendly and helpful since I had never eaten there before and wasnt sure what to order. She even put her Santa hat on to match our group! A very good experience!
They just got reddit famous for being good people. Im on the east coast, but wanted to add to their 5 star rating. Its got to be hard keeping a restaurant open in a pandemic, even without the free meals they give away. Id absolutely pay for a meal if I lived in their state.
Food here is delicious. Falafel, hummus baba g, pita bread, everything is so delicious
Nice little hole in the wall.
After my experience and going to this restaurant, my choice was not successful
The guy at the desk wears a mask but the cook doesnt.0/10 great job guys. Good thing theres not a pandemic on or youd be possibly endangering people.
Service was great, food was excellent, Ill be going back.
Pretty standard mediterranean fare, definitely good but not outstanding
Very friendly service.
This place never disappoints. Food is always flavorful and delicious.
Great food, and great program to feed those who are hungry.
Had a good experience first time, but today - not so much. Ordered delivery which included fries which probably would have been fine if they were cooked. But instead we got a container full of raw potato slices. No idea how in the world someone makes that mistake and Ill try this place again in the future, but not for a long time.
I wanted to order 40.00 worth of food to be delivered but door dash makes it impossible to do so I will move on to someone that make it easier!
The food is fresh and delicious. Best place in town.
Microwaved chicken kabob, spoiled tasting baba ganouj, and just a dirty vibe inside this place. Had high expectations given the reviews but the meat was inedible. Hummus was ok, but thats pretty much it. Had to throw everything to the trash and go eat elsewhere.
Abdul is a very nice guy. The food was awesome. I think it is better than what I ate in Israel when I was there. Abdul is friendly and efficient at making great food. I highly recommend this establishment.
I love the vegetarian platter! Ordered it so many times and always enjoy it. The sandwiches are also very good too.
Delicious food and great customer service!I’ve heard that Colorado Springs doesn’t do well with Shwarma - That’s FALSE.The Kabob Platters at Taste of Jerusalem were fresh, juicy and seasoned perfectly - we will return again!
Not recommended. All food was old, hummus was bitter, fries were too hard. Bread was too hard to bite.
A PLUS .. great food and customer service.. good little hole in the wall place with great atmosphere. Waited longer for the rice but it was worth it
Quick service for pickup order. Food was incredible. Best dolmas I’ve ever had! Thank you!
I got some chicken shawarmas tonight, I love them. But sadly what I got was what looked like a gyro. The pita was so soggy, the amount of liquid dripping off my pita was so gross and it tasted so sour. It was so sour because banana peppers were on my chick shawarma? That’s so gross. If you want traditional shawarma wraps do not go here. I took two bite and threw out all my food. I’m bummed because I had high hopes but was really disappointed. Like it almost was like the pickling juice for the banana peppers was dumped all over my food.
The food was fantastic, my whole family ordered the Ultimate Sandwich and fries, and the sandwich was amazing, the best pita Ive had, and the fries were spectacular. Great service, a nice feel about the place. I recommend it.
I ordered the Ultimate Plate. It has beef, lamb, and chicke, all of which had wonderful flavor. Then there are 3 falafel, hummus, a fresh garden salad that was excellent, including great tomatoes, and pita sliced into perfect poeces for grabbing up some meat and dipping into the hummus. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the one person working the front was very pleasant.
It was a bit of a different atmosphere than what I am used to and I almost didnt order food after starting my coffee. Not that the coffee is bad, just the energy was a bit off. Anyway, after sitting for a bit and drinking my coffee a little kid came from the back area and was spending time with the lady behind the counter and the energy suddenly felt better. I ordered a taste of jerusalem sandwich and didnt regret it. The chef/cook brought it to my table and was quite friendly and the sandwich was delicious. Definately a bit of a different environment but would recommend it. Im not sure if this is family owned and operated, however the energy definately gives it that feel.
Besides the perfectly seasoned chicken shawarma, which I rate quite tasty and the beef shawarma (average), this eatery deserves a 10 because of their altruistic practices. Hungry or unfortunate persons can request food and the restaurant serves them. I believe that this is likely controlled but it is made public with signage. So whatever extra you have, consider leaving a little more. This is an authentic eatery, located in a sanitized and comfortable environment. Food is prepared upon ordering. Ask for feta and raw onions on the chicken and add a side of hummus inside the beef shawarma. If you get fries, tell them not to cook to hard.
Taste of Jerusalem Cafe is an amazing choice for authentic Mediterranean food in Colorado. They have a variety of classic Mediterranean dishes and halal food. The atmosphere and team are very warm and kind, providing a genuine family feel. The best Baklava I have ever eaten hands down. Thanks for the awesome and delicious experience!
It was a terrible experience. We were met with odd musty odor as soon as we entered through the doors. We were asked to be seated at a dirty table. Food took forever to arrive and was undercooked and tasteless. Raw blood started to ooze out of lamb kabob and when informed the server took away the half eaten piece of meat to grill again. How sanitary the kitchen is, leaves one to the imagination! Did I mention the fries had rancid after taste. Please do not make the mistake of being fooled by 600 positive reviews online.
In town for the first time. Food was amazing!!!
Love this place! Amazing food. Highly recommend the falafel mishkool 🤤
Good food.
Horrible experience. Food had hair in it and they refused to replace the meal. The lady behind the counter stated she was “too busy to help me out.” Would not recommend.
Ultra friendly staff and the food is phenomenal! Get the ultimate sandwich with crispurra fries and some hummus! You wont regret it. Super fresh and fast, and very reasonably priced. Absolutely will be coming back (like at least once a week)!
Very peaceful. The restaurant is clean and orderly. A nice plave to connect with family. The host was just lovely! Food is great and is priced fair. Please support this business!
I absolutely fell in love with this restaurant! The owners are incredibly humble & truly care about their food, their service. I am from Michigan, I know my middle eastern food and I can say easily one of best foods I have ever had!
Great workers, owner just needs to learn to bring more ink when workers request more when out...
Absolutely a hidden gem. Delicious food for a very good price. Restaurant is very low key and service was quick and friendly. The chicken curry is fantastic as are the plates (vegetarian plate).
My half a dozen baklava is Four pieces, one piece is for 1.99$ on the menu. The restaurant charged me 14.99$. A little confused here. Honestly, the food is not bad, but overpriced and small portions.
That place is unsanitary! The young girl behind the counter went from touching her face and eating, to grabbing my food without washing her hands and then got lippy with me when I asked her to wear a mask... In the middle of a pandemic... With a mask mandate in effect. She refused to get the manager for me when I asked, and just acted all around rude AF. Not going back, and if you care about your health you shouldnt either.
I like this restaurant. Great food
Good people and good food, I recommend going here
Besides from the food being delectable, the costumer service was outstanding. This restaurant/cafe has provided a homey atmosphere with wonderful taste.
Great small business. Good food. Their fries and peach smoothies are delicious!
Little place, pretty murals on the wall of Israel, friendly staff. Food to die for! Love the hummus they serve with the pita. Their kebabs are so yummy! Rice is delicious! Dolmas are amazing with such tender grape leafs!
Very good...ask for Megan she was a good Hostess..love the food!
The lady who answers the phone will not take your order and makes you go on hold for 15 minutes. She is an extremely rude lady and has no manners. She is sabotaging her business by being rude to customers. Don’t bother trying to call this restaurant. Run by a bunch of illiterate people.
They offer free baklava for customers who leave a 5 star review so their reviews are very skewed. Ive travelled to Israel and eaten authentic Mediterranean food. This food is mediocre at best. The mens bathroom did not have hand soap which makes me wonder if the male workers are washing their hands. If would recommend Heart of Jerusalem if you are craving Mediterranean food.
The food was seriously so delicious. Like, you keep eating past full because its good. There was one waitress on staff but the place is fairly smalls and she took care of my party of 3, two behind us, one in front of us and a part of 8. She did a great job and was really nice. The bathrooms were clean but the water in the womens bathroom came out extremely hot. The only thing keeping me from giving a full 5 stars is that me and my husbands meals came out at different times (we share a lot so not a big deal), but it happened to the table next to us too and I think thats just a matter of the chef using better timing. And the decor. The inside is paint as a mural of Jerusalem, but you could tell the walls were dingy and the seating was all mismatched. I should also say my husband has eaten in the Middle East a lot and he said it was just like over there. My actual rating would be 4.8 out of 5 because the food is just too good.
Kade was the best! He had great customer service and clearly cares about what he is doing! Cant wait to go back!
