I had a great experience buying a new car from Midlands during this difficult time with the chip shortage. I was able to find the exact car I wanted online. It was a car that Midlands had ordered from Toyota but it hadn’t even been built yet. With the chip shortage, I knew it would be a while before I got my car (it took 60+ days). It was worth the wait. Jennifer the online manager was great and gave me a fantastic deal. When I went into the dealership to order the car I met with Amber and Joe. They were great!! Both were super helpful and patient with me. I am a fairly tough customer but they were wonderful. Joe Medina is by far the best person I’ve ever worked with in a dealership. My car arrived last week. Easy process with the paperwork. The car looked great and was ready to go. It’s a beautiful Supersonic Red 2022 Camry XSE. I couldn’t be happier with my Camry and my purchasing experience at Midlands!!

++++BUYER BEWARE++++They will tell you lies to sell you a vehicle..bought a car Tuesday from them...salesman proudly told me came with remote start and find my car and tracking as long as I used the app...couldnt get app to work called him back Wed afternoon he said to wait till next day these will be on your app...wed afternoon finally called corp to get help only to. find out none of these items came with my car....this is why I bought the car now I am stuck after giving them $12000 down and to top it off he promised us a package of phone chargers he forgot to give us daughter went next day to pick up package..he gave us one used charger...never will I deal with these liars!!!!Deborah Mauldin Barbaree

Poor service experience. Charged me for a service bulletin that should have been covered by warranty. Said I could file for refund..would let me know next few days. Never called, claimed “new software” prevented them from doing it, basically giving me the run a round. Filed a claim with Toyota.com, who agree with me but time will tell. Honestly doubt Toyota would not side with one of their dealerships…dyer is claiming I broke a stud on assembly before they worked on it. I was never told about broken stud until all service work was complete…paid for…only after I walked back in and asked for old part. Service tech was gone a bit…came back with previous part. Won’t spend another nickel there!

Customer service and experience holds a lasting impression. Having scheduled an appointment and sharing again when checking in the service that is being request compared to the numerous of services completed with authorization or request. Let alone the lack of update during my nearly 3 hours wait which I was informed would take 1.5 hours would’ve alleviated the issue and saved me time and money. I’m extremely unhappy and the experience as a whole doesn’t sit well with me and being a new resident in the area. I will definitely be returning to my home out of state for all future service’s. A thank you and admittance to a lack of communication does not nor did it resolve anything.

Ordered & paid for a rim & tire Thursday morning, made an appointment for 2 on Saturday. rushed from the mountains to be here on time. they said it would take an hour and thirty mins… an hour and thirty minutes later, they lost my recipt where i paid for the rim and tire. then they said it would 30 minutes more. went and checked, he said i have to wait longer… needless to say, don’t waste your time. it is now 4:15 and no car. UPDATE: VICTOR TORRES IS THE BEST IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. HE IS THE BEST I EVER SEEN AND I WORK AT A CAR DEALERSHIP!!!! THIS MAN IS HONEST AND DESERVES A RAISE!!!!!

Was sold short on buying a used car here. When buying my 2014 Rav 4 the tires did not match the car as they were from a Ford but I was assured they were up to date and safe. I even came in two weeks after for a service and was told there was plenty of tread still on the tires.Low and behold about two months after buying the car I had to sink $1100 into all new tires because the ones I had were from 2013 and one had become flat. I was oversold something and ended up having to pay for it not long after.

A few weeks ago I brought my Land Cruiser (2001 with 250k miles) in for a concerning noise coming from the driver side front wheel. Turns out both front wheel bearings needed to be replaced. Lucky for me, I got to work with Terrence during my visit. He did a wonderful job reviewing all of the technicians findings with me. Terrence also let me speak with the tech at length about the proposed fixes on my car, and he did a wonderful job patiently reviewing and explaining the issues and solutions. The car still drives like new, and these guys deserve all the credit.The whole service department is top notch, and I cant recommend them enough.Chris

The sales department was a great help they searched and located the specific model and certain amenities that we needed. They didnt just say we dont have it and tried to sale us what was on the lot. They searched for it through out SC and then went to pick it up for us. To top it off they give us the best deal. The vehicle came in, as we finished the paperwork. Initial experience off the bat terrible, I’m new to SC I’m ready to buy got cash on hand stood by the car I wanted for 20min (mind you I’m not use to the south’s heat I’m front the north) the walked to the shade stood by 2 employees (not even a hello)for 15min. then walked inside sat at a table for another 10 min and nothing so I left. Again by far the worst waste of time ever. Not to mention I heard after leaving they rip ppl off.

FOLLOW UP: Owner response invited me to call the Parts Manager, so I did. Left a message with a person. Never got a call.Placed a $673 order online for parts. The order needed to be shipped outside the U.S. through a freight forwarding service in Miami. Got an email that said I needed to confirm my address, but gave only two ways of doing so, neither of which were possible. The email said to call if I couldnt do that, but the guy that took the call was absolutely unwilling to discuss ANY other way of confirming the billing address of my credit card. So NO SALE.

The process of purchasing the vehicle on the Internet was quick and easy. Amber and Trent were very helpful in answering all my questions. If there was something they didn’t know immediately they found out the answer and called me back right away. I was in contact with Trent many times and he had the vehicle delivered to my girlfriend at her work. She didn’t even have to lift a finger. Trent even put the license plate on for her. I purchased a part via their website. The product was $102, the shipping charge was originally $8.15. They sent me a change in shipping cost to $23. I Okayed this change being as it was only $15. Another email came in less than 24 hours notifying me that shipping was now going to cost $148!!! FOR A $102 PART!!! I received a phone call after posting this review they have agreed to refund my money for the extra shipping cost that I had not approved. Thank you for making this right.

Every time I take my truck there to get serviced, they try to sell unnecessary services. There was one time where there were a few loose bolts and one missing from the skit plate after an oil change. All I want is my oil changed. Ive been going there since my favorite local privately owned mechanic shop moved to another location. I will be going back to them. It will be worth the longer drive.

AUG 28 Response:I am more than comfortable discussing this in this forum for ALL to read.Question: Yes or No Is it ethical for SC dealerships to add the Closing Fee ON TOP of (in addition to) the Advertised Sales price?Dishonest. If you are not aware of SC law, this dealership will try and quote the Closing Fee ON TOP of the advertised Sales Price. They will do this contrary to what their Disclaimer reads, that the Closing Fee is INCLUDED in the Sales Price. They will offer the double talk that they are suppose to include the Line Item - Closing Fee. This is correct, but not as an additional fee ON TOP of the advertised Sales Price. Every quote I received from them included the Closing Fee ON TOP of the Sales Price.No surprise this dealership has 16 complaints filed against them with SC Dept of Consumer Affairs - consumer.sc.gov. I will be filing a complaint and seeking an attorney since I am not licensed in SC.I have more details I can offer from their emails. If interested you can email me at [email protected], they tried to insist my sales tax rate in Alabama is 10%. They cited the Alabama DMV. I had to send them the phone number of the Probate Office to get that straightened out, which took 2 days.Check your paperwork if you have ever purchased from this dealership or if in the process of purchasing. Worst experience we’ve had with purchasing a car. Would not come back. I rated this 5 stars while we were still doing financing because the salesman asked us to. After that, it went downhill. We were there for 5 hours purchasing the car. They left it sitting in the parking lot instead of taking it to be serviced (since it hadn’t been serviced, inspected, or detailed yet). They told us to come back that afternoon to pick it up and it would be ready. Come 3 o’clock it wasn’t ready & they hadn’t even detailed it yet. We live a hour away so we just left and went home. (Thank goodness we didn’t trade a vehicle or we would have had to sit there with two young kids) they said it would be ready the next morning. Next morning came, we drive the hour to get there & be there when they open at 9am & still not ready. Apparently it was in detailing. We were told to give it about 2 hours and it would be ready. It still wasn’t not ready at 1oclock. It finally was ready about 1:30/1:45. While we had to figure out what to do with two young kids, a hour away from home, for 4 and a half hours.I will never purchase again. Feel like we got the run around. I also hate when financing pushes a warranty on you & then wants to become snarky when we say we don’t want it, repeatedly.

Ill never deal with them again. I placed an online parts order with them and paid with my CC. A couple days later they came back and informed me that they were raising the shipping from $70 to $150. No way!ETA: I attempted to call Mr. Peterson as mentioned below. I spent 20 minutes on hold waiting for him before finally hanging up. Not only is he not available, but there is no voice mail, and no one came back to the line to check on me. Clearly customer service is not that important.

Do NOT get your vehicle serviced here. I am not sure about the sales department but the service department is an entire sh*t show! I was misinformed when choosing what to get serviced on my vehicle. It was told to me that the mechanics go off of the factory package when servicing vehicles. I was not told that this was an OPTION. So, my $60 service quickly turned into a $522 service. I spent way over the amount that I intended to spend, it wasnt until I saw my receipt that said that I chose to upgrade the services. NO, I was told that their mechanics had to go off of the factory package! I was also told that my service would only take 1 hour to an 1 hour and a half. I did not leave the dealership until close to 12pm... I arrived at 8:15am! There was other angry customers waiting in the overhang and I can see why. One customer was yelling at a service rep because he was waiting over 15 minutes just to pay and leave. I ended up waiting a while too. My service rep kept walking back and forth in front of me. Someone else had to eventually check me out.My truck was parked with the windows down with the key in the ignition unattended (I didnt know) for over 20 mins. The service rep was manipulative and lied about the time being done. I wouldve rather been told upfront about the wait times because I couldve gotten a ride to go back home with my children instead of waiting at the dealership for almost 4 hours. I was not updated at all while I waited except for 5 mins before my truck was finished. Then I still had to wait before I could pay. This literally ruined my Saturday. I will NEVER EVER EVER visit this again. I would recommend those needing service to drive to Jim Hudson or Fred Anderson Toyota.

Steve amick was my service advisor, this guy must make his money on commission spent 2000 on timing belt water pump valve cover and maf sensor drive it for 3 days and it starts overheating. Take it back they say its 700 for a new radiator. When I said I can get it done cheaper Steve says Im making his job harder and basically raises his voice. I refused service

Great buying experience!! The internet sales coordinator had an extremely fast response time and the finance manager was very patient. Dennis Risher (car salesman) was very respectful and courteous. He provided incredible service without pressuring you or using pushy tactics. He ensured that I was comfortable with the vehicle before and after leaving the lot. The price of the car was slightly higher than the price quoted online due to an “addendum”, but overall, it was a great buying experience.

We purchased a tundra from them and the whole process has been terrible. They got our financing wrong. We had to sign new documents and ended up being sent to collections because they couldn’t seem to figure out how to close out the original account they screwed up on. They assured us things were cleared up but it took months for us to figure out they hadn’t done anything. We still don’t have plates yet. They are “backed up”. They said they were sending new temporary plates 9 days ago and have received nothing. They don’t seem very organized and I regret purchasing from them.

I purchased a certified used 2016 Toyota Rave 4 on December 31st, 2020. I purchased this vehicle in the evening when it was dark and raining, the next morning I saw water in the headlight and immediately notified the dealership. They then told me they wanted to try to remove the water since the headlight was $700. The vehicle is warrantied and I didnt want to risk further issues with it down the road so I told them I wanted it fully replaced (as it was sold certified used it should not have had an issue). They then made me an appointment, waited until I showed up, then told me the part wasnt even there. To further my disappointment they made me another appointment on a day they wouldnt even have someone there to do the repair. It takes days to get answers from these people. I spoke with a manager (Randy) Friday and was told I would have a call back that same day to get this resolved and today is Tuesday and still havent heard back. I have a 2 year old which is why I wanted to buy a reliable car and wishing I had not gone through this dealership. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

This is by far the BEST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP I dealt with in my many years of car buying. The entire staff was very welcoming and treated you like one of their own.
