Quite a bit of cool stuff here. Nice staff.
Found a few old things I just had to have. I miss the bigger slackers but times change things.
Awesome attitude! 🎶 Cool CDs, tho hope to find more Bob Marley next time. 🙃
Great customer service. Thank you for helping me with my Nintendo Wii needs.
Rude, unhelpful staff.Told me to throw away a card someone dropped by staring at me angrily and pointing to a trash can when I asked if they had a lost and found. Use your words.....
Buyers beware. Bought a ds lite from this store only to have faultly battery and ended up having to play phone tag with original employee that sold it to me to get my money back. They were supposed to replace at 1st only to have that messed as well so I insisted on a refund. Finally got it 5-20-21 after having to drive back down to Columbia just for this.
Not what it used to be, if you find anything good you are going to pay handsomely for it. Unfriendly staff everytime I have been there, I miss the old Slackers.
Thanks to this establishment for their great attitude and help, plus the fact that they made looking for vintage gaming products easy and satisfactory!! Thanks to Slacker,😁
Great place, still here after all these years!
Good place for used games, music. Theres some cool posters & vintage items too.
Its a pretty cool place to go and buy pretty cool music, movies and game stuff
Good store. Cool vibes. Cheap games and consoles too.
Great need to be more social tho
Easy to find very full, diverse inventory to choose from.
Super rad games and music at great prices. Everything looks awesome after reorganizing the store. Staff are always friendly and helpful, Im a weirdo collector and they are just as nice to me as they are the set of parents buying skylanders. 10/10 if you dont have any ideas gift shopping stop by and you will find something strange and fun
I had a difficulttime finding a game for my son and it was pretty strange how the only employee there kept trying to avoid me. They have a massive selection of wall posters, but every single one that I asked for was sold out. I literally made a list of 26 different posters and they didnt have a single one.
Its been a long time coming but I think they finally reached the end of their boat its like this has been here ever since I was young now I think its time for them to retire or at least start a new company 😉
Great selection of music, comics, game, and general nerdy stuff. Its not a huge store but they have a little bit of everything
I always loved going into Slackers. I always found several cds and dvds on sale, and even managed to fine stuff I thought was out print. Its also a great place to find local artists on cd, and international music too. I kinda miss it now that Im living out of state.
Good place for some niche video games and movies. Not the most helpful or best place around, but Im glad theyre here.
Love this place. Comics, movies, pop culture, video games, board games, vinyl records, poop vinyls, toys, posters, etc. Friendly, helpful staff, hometown feel, great layout, fair prices. I keep going back again and again just to see what little gem I may find in there next!!!
One place to get a lot of comic books.
Got the games I needed with great service
Wide selection of comics, records, video games, table top and card games. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Fair prices for buying and selling.
So about a year ago we traded in an old console and games, enough to have several hundred dollars worth of store credit. Fast forward to well over a year later my wife buys me a PS4. Id love to use some of my store credit but because a pink slip they gave us was lost they wont allow us to use our own store credit, even if we bring in an ID to identify ourselves. They only reason to have such a policy to is hope that the customer loses their small pink piece of paper so they save money. Not very consumer focused....
I go here for the records and antique toys, not garage sale, much better, top of the line collectables in many genre.
One of my go to places to buy vinyl records.
Staff are nice. Prices are ok. The main issue is that they never seem to be open during the times posted. This is the 3rd time we have tried to shop here and it is wasn’t open but according to the sign it SHOULD be open
Bought a ps1 memory card. Was surprised by the change in layout. Always call ahead if your looking for something. I great place down town.
Friendly folks! Love this place!
Some very great death metal, thrash metal, heavy metal... Cds and records also you can find a lot of cool Metal accesories here like comics its a very cool store if your into metal, superheros, posters, games anything really
Always a good time looking at stuff, and decent prices. Been going since the mid 90s
Pretty cool, dude. They have a decent selection of everything. Good prices on used games and records.
RDS here is amazing. They have everything laid out in alphabetical order and if you cant find something, the employees are willing to help. Got everything I wanted, and left with a smile. 5 stars!
Great place to buy classic games and old music . I filled out some more of my mage collection
Always fun to check out what they have and dig through their records and comic books. Its crowded but cozy and comfortable.
The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable about their selections! They even called other Slackers store to help me find what I needed. Their suggestions for selections of both games and music have always been on point.
Great for nerds.retro throwbacks and used new games as well.plus unique collectors items and music.too.has great selection of comics
Place is great. Stop being idiots who want to compare prices on massive online retailers who more than likely sell you broken/bootlegged games/music/dvds. Support a local business that can offer you a great return policy and quality of product.
Prices are high, but the stuff is really cool. Posters, comics, music, games, etc. I just wish they carried manga and kpop related stuff. That would really up the variety.
Fun store to browse through retro games and accessories, and vinyl records. Prices seem reasonable on most items.
Fast friendly and convenient
Good prices campared to everyone else and carry every collectable I want in one place
It is one of the best stores I have ever been to
Always make it a point to stop by when im in town. I always find something interesting plus the vinyl.
Ever since they split the store in half its been kinda lame but thet do still have some ok stuff but i recomend vintage stock at the mall, its just like slackers but with better and more selections
I like that the games are great for old consoles but the prices are way too high! They are just old used games! A Nintendo cartridge should not cost $20.
Pretty subpar and pricey for used media. Especially since DVDs are becoming a thing of the past!
Alright spot for record collectors, but the prices are ridiculous. I have found some obscure 7s here and I applaud them for that. Bought a few GameCube games here, too for my system and the total ended up being close to $50. I can pay half that price on eBay or GameStop. Re think your pricing!
Unique collectables and throw back games
Update your times through google I came all way up here to find out I gotta wait a hour more nope Im out
Great place. Good customer service
Super sweet place; records, comics, CDs, all kinds of fun things.
Easy to trade and sell stuff. Really good variety too.
Nothing beats the original. This location is very special: decent cassette and vinyl selection, spotty 8trak and VHS Collection, but the 80s and 90s selection is seccond to none. Count on them for having rare games you cant find in other places.
My kids and I have been going here for years and we love it!
Wide variety of merchandise. A bit pricey sometimes, but worth a look when searching for CDs, games, or Magic cards.
Comfy little hole in the wall with wide range of vintage goods.
Staff were helpful and knowledgeable, prices were affordable
Nifty spot with all kinds of old school stuff.
Where do I start with this place? I will start with what I liked. First, I love how much stuff they have in there. They have tons of music, movies, video games, toys, etc. I have a blast looking at everything and cruising down nostalgia road. However, thats about where it ends...The first thing you will notice when you look closer at the items are the prices. My god, they have jacked up the prices on used video games SO much! I was constantly pulling out my phone and comparing to eBay and Amazon marketplace prices and Slackers prices are so much higher than what I found, and thats even when I include shipping from eBay/Amazon. I then tried to ask one of the guys that works there where they get their prices, but he looked at me as though I was wasting his time and very rudely stated supply and demand man then went right back to whatever he was doing. I would try to give specific examples of what games I compared, but it was on nearly every single one I compared and I looked at dozens. This brings me to my next complaint: the service. Every single person I have dealt with in there is rude and unfriendly. Again, I feel as though I am pestering them just to ask a simple question... I HATE that! Not once while in there did anyone ask me if I needed help or gave any recommendations.I did actually find a couple of used video games that, compared to eBay and Amazon, were decent prices so I decided to purchase them (they were Sega Genesis games). I take the box to the counter to buy them and the same man who acted like I was a bother earlier brings me just the game cartridges and keeps the case. He then informs me that 95% of those used games dont have the case - they are cartridges only. So I asked if I could just have that one, but he explained they need them for display purposes. So why make it look like you are getting a complete set, just to find out you are only getting the cartridge?? Once I found out it was the game only, that quickly changed how I felt about their asking prices. The environment itself in there sucks. In the summer, it is EXTREMELY hot. I actually get relief going back outside to where there is a breeze. Now I know this isnt the stores fault, but most of the customers are rude too. I politely say excuse me and try not to get in anyones way. However, when I am trying to look around, I get bumped into without a sorry, people will hog a section (because the aisles are so incredibly small you cant fit more than 2 people in at a time) so I have to wait until they move to continue looking. Being close quarters with people when it feels like 100 degrees in there isnt pleasant either. It makes you hotter and you get the wonderful aroma of crotch sweat and b.o.Finally, and this didnt happen to me directly but to a friend, they low ball you so incredibly bad on trade ins. He had a barely used original Game Boy complete in the box with several games and he still had to pay out of pocket to buy a used copy of The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker. I know that game is SOMEWHAT rare/expensive, but my god that is insane. Especially considering what they are going to charge for the items he traded in. And this isnt the only case of this I have heard of. Countless people I have bought games/consoles from on Craigs List said that they were going to go to Slackers to sell their stuff, but were offended by the low ball offers, thus why they decided to sell online.Overall, I will NEVER waste my time in that store again nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. I REALLY wanted to have a good game store here, other than GameStop, where I could take my money and not feel as though I am being screwed over. I also want to support the local community by keeping my money here. However, I absolutely will not drop a dime into a store like this. I will happily support other people who offer reasonable prices and even pay for the shipping. At least that way I dont deal with rude employees, customers, and dont have to leave my home.
I like Slackers. Usually overpriced, but I can usually find what Im looking for. :)
These people are seriously picky about games being sold to them or traded. Took a ps2 game practically brand new played it once and they said it was to scratch upd WOW way to run a business when advertised to bring your used games to sell or trade. Does the game have to be shrink wrapped and unopened to sell? to you?Bad Business advertising. Dont see you lasting long when Vintage stock takes used games I understand if someone is selling something scratched to hell or gauged but this game was just dirty from sitting on a shelf in its case. I for one dont recommend going to these ignorant morons. Better off going to Gamestop or Vintage Stock and getting better customer service. FYI might want to let people know that before they take their DVD based games in to trade. Not good Business practice if you ask me
They always have something for TWD!
A good selection of 8-64 Bit games.
Surprisingly, they had what I was looking for and l may go again soon. Thanks.
Grest stuff and fun workers
Fun little comic, music, movie, game, and apparel store.
OK selection of vinyl. Lots of video have stuff but not what I was looking for.
Too bad there aren’t more businesses like this.
This place IS DA BOMB!!!!Its got cds, dvds, comics, vinyl, cassette, board games, video games and its all cheap
An important and near-historical place in Columbia
Only place to get my nerd fix that Ive found so far since moving here
Heck of a selection of cd dvd & games.
Great store with a lot of variety
Cool store cool prices.
Liked the store better when it was bigger
