My experience with Bob Benedetti and his company has to be one of the worst I have ever had with a contractor or supposed professional. We called him in to do a custom granite counter-top. He was running some special pricing on a particular style. A different local company was to actually do the granite cutting and prep and they have a good reputation so I decided to use him despite not knowing anything about him. The day his crew showed up to do the install, Bob was conveniently on vacation somewhere. The install seemed to be going fine until they laid one piece of the counter down against the wall and there was a huge gap of almost an inch! He must not know how to measure too well. His guys had trouble installing our sink properly and fussed around with it for quite a while. After they left I went to finish hooking up the plumbing and found they they had actually broken off a piece of plumbing under our sink and water had been leaking down under our cabinets for those hours since they had left! I had to spend redo quite a bit of the plumbing under our sink and pay for the parts. If had to call a plumber it would have been $200-300 probably. I later called him back out to assess the mistake in measurement and he told me he could patch it up. I called him on the carpet! This was suppose to be top notch? It was suppose to be custom work and it was very poor. We were happy with the quality of the granite prep that the fabricator had done and Bob agreed to give us some money off so we agreed to let it go and he did patch it to our satisfaction. I addressed the breakage of plumbing and he denied that his guys had done it and I just let go to get him out of my hair. Now four later, the sealant that was used to attach the sink to the granite is peeling off and has turned to complete sludge. We have a copper sink and I believe that they used the wrong sealant for copper. I have no confidence that they have any clue what they are doing. I called him to ask what could be done about this. He told me that I needed to redo the sealant. I asked if he could help us with that and he proceeded to tell me that he thought we had made up the story about the broken plumbing. I asked if he was calling me a liar and said Yes I am! Unbelievable! This operation is completely shifty and incompetent and I would never let them in my house again! Buyer beware!
