This is a nice little diner - great staff, great breakfast food and great prices. I felt like we were part of a family - will stop back again when in the area!

Its like Cheers, but with breakfast. A local stop for a hearty breakfast that gives you something youve never tried before on the specials board. The staff is engaging and treats you fairly if you have some fun and go with it. Take a look around the walls and youll see a sense of humor is on the menu. Ive had several meals here and everything coming out of that kitchen makes you drool. Skip the chain restaurant and have an experience at this local gem.

Cool little classic diner. Can get very crowded and limited seating. Good breakfast food. Have always had great service too. Nothing fancy, but cozy and friendly.

Great older silver diner, great food and service. This aint no country club is their slogan. Very homey and the servers are very friendly and accommodating. You gotta try it. Limited hours.

Truly a classic little hole in the wall diner with a large selection of regular clients. Neither the parking lot, nor the seating of this establishment are large which seems to match the atmosphere well. The prices are generally quite inexpensive, but the quality of the food is quite good. They regularly have 4 to 5 breakfast specials on Saturdays, which is the only day of the week I have ever gone. This is not fancy food or service by any stretch of the imagination, but the food is always good; the service is always friendly; and the specials are often a little innovative. Definitely worth checking out!

Although Ive been here many many times and have always had a positive experience todays service was exceptionally bad its not fine dining waited 15 minutes and watched to booths get waited on that came in after us as we sat at the counter.The waitress also engaged in pointless conversation with patrons as we waited.We paid for our coffee and leftDont give excuses just do your job let others assist you if short-handed.Even though the food is fantastic, there are plenty of places that will provide better service with food thats just as good.

The place is just what it appears to be. I love these old diners. As the reviews say, the staff is entertaining. The sassy waitress people mention is fun and friendly! She may get sarcastic, but everyone is treated like family. Its a busy place, and the regulars make themselves heard. Food was very good and prices were low.

The food here is awesome. And the service is great. Try their stuffed French Toast if you get the chance. That fruity cream cheese they put in it is so fluffy and delicious.

Lol. Where do I start. Bad service all around, and I’m only writing this review for the sake of others not wasting their money on this establishment. The server Cheryl is very dismissive and knows nothing about the menu. She argued with us about what we “really wanted” on our food, and confused our orders 3 times and then blamed it on us that we had confusing orders. No Cheryl, you are the one that is confused. The servers shout back and forth to each other and to other customers instead of walking the 10 feet to them and using adult inside voices. The way they behaved was almost comical, and fortunately for them the regulars seem to enjoy this drama that fills their mundane diner-regular lives.As someone who wants a regular breakfast, shouting across the restaurant for every little thing is not normal behavior. The servers were also eating in front of guests at the bar top, and heating food in a microwave essentially right next to a place setting. This is a food violation. As for the servers attitudes, i get it-you work in a diner and you hate your life. I also once worked in a restaurant and hated it, but I still treated customers with respect and did not do whatever I wanted and said whatever I wanted. A server then stood up on a bar stool right next to a guest and attempted to stop a ceiling leak with duct tape, another food violation. Also a dumb idea as the adhesive will not stick if it’s wet. Besides all of these violations, the food was not great and the potatoes were mushy and looked like they had been prepped earlier and sat in the bottom of a stock pot.. If we hadn’t already ordered drinks, we would have left before the food was ordered. Lancaster is known for some really good food, but this does not live up to that reputation. This is a grimy little diner, not the nostalgic small town treasure you are looking for. At checkout Cheryl confused my order 3 more times about what I should be charged for. I ordered one meal with a glass of water. No substitutions, no additions, just an eggs Benedict and water. Cheryl could not get this simple check written up, and couldn’t remember what she herself even served me. They really should rename this place the twilight zone diner because I have never in my life had such a strange and bizarre food experience.

Me and a couple buddies grab breakfast here every couple of weeks, and no matter what time we come in, we never have a problem being seated immediately. All of the servers are excellent about noticing when coffee needs refilled and checking in with the table when needed. Even though were not really regulars, the servers recognize us and treat us like family. Everything Ive ordered at the diner has been absolutely spectacular, but if you happen by when theyre having the chipped beef omelette special, you have to try it - its exceptional! You cant beat the value and the atmosphere.

Terrible service! My daughter accidentally spilled her chocolate milk and the lady forgot to bring my wifes French toast out. Then when it did come out when we were about to leave it wasnt even hot. When we got the bill I asked if we would be getting charged for the spilled chocolate milk and or the Forgotten French toast and she said that it was our accident so yes we will be paying for two chocolate milks. Then another lady came from the back and said you guys accidentally spilled the chocolate milk just like she accidentally forgot your French toes so you guys are going to pay for that too. And we explained that we didnt feel that was right to pay for the French toast that was forgotten and cold and that that has never happened to us before and the lady said will todays your lucky day because youre paying for it today. I also added up the bill when I first got it and it came to $16.50, when we took it up to the lady it came up to $21.98 because she said she forgot to write two or three things on the bill. We said I cannot believe the way you are treating us and talking to us I dont know if we will be returning and the whole time we were talking she just kept saying bye bye bye dont come back we dont need stupid people like you in our restaurant and then came running out the front door when we left saying we were terrible parents for acting like that in front of our kids when we were simply trying to figure out why we were getting charged for everything we did. If my wife hadnt already given her my card I would have been walking out without paying for any of it but she had just got done swiping my card. I am hoping to get in contact with the manager or the owner and having a conversation with them about this. I am really hoping that neither one of them was a manager the way they were talking to us.

Stopped by here a week or so ago and had their Southern Sunrise platter, eggs over easy w/homefries. The sausage gravy seemed to be thickened by too much flour which made the biscuits taste even more doughy. The home-fries could have been cooked more. They were on the soft side to the point where some were mushy. Eggs were okay. This place has its regulars and they seem like a very social, fun crowd. It seemed awkward to sit there and be patient for server to write up my bill. I even stood up for a bit and then finally, sat back down because I was looked at but not given an inquiring, do you want me to wring you up now? After waiting a bit more, I got up and stood at the register until one of the servers decided to wring up the bill. It may be that Im not a regular and was probably looked at as a tourist passing through and decided to stop at this nostalgic diner. These places have an appeal for me and Id like to stop back but there are other choices out there so well see. I may give it another shot down the road and check out their other menu items.

Okay so this little place is so cute an the food was nice an hot an fresh, when you walk in you get such a hometown vibe an feeling!! One server may seem a little snobby but it honestly is like apart of the whole vibe, if your in town or a regular its a great place to stop an eat at honestly worth the trip I will be going again

This is a wonderful small town diner. There was a little bit of a wait, but plenty of fresh hot coffee and friendly conversation to fill the time. My custom omelet was made to order and perfectly done. Portions were generous, food was delicious and staff was lovely.

The new management at Prospect Diner seems to have a good following of local people. The service was good, restaurant clean and food hot and delicious. The owner prepares each meal himself, so each meal is definitely well put together.
