Jerry is extremely knowledgeable, flexible, and and friendly. Three of us came down for training at Ft Benning and Jerry was very cooperative with our busy schedules. Tried talking to the other scuba shop in Columbus and they were unnegotiable with their schedule and came off slightly cold. I will continue to recommend planet scuba to everyone that comes to Ft. Benning. Great place to learn scuba!!

I can not speak for the training or arranged dive trips. I can speak to the variety of items for sale in the store and the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. For little Columbus this appears to be the dive shop that has been here for several years and is more interested in you than how deep your pockets are. Recommended.

My husband and I have been in several times, and the owner is always friendly and very helpful. Prices are also reasonable. The other dive shop in Columbus was very pushy, not friendly at all, didnt offer the perspective and advice that we got here, and their selection was not as good. Well continue to purchase all of our equipment here.

Best dive shop in town! I work an 8-5pm and I’ve always wanted to learn to dive but never had the time. Jerry works with your schedule and does whatever he can to help make you love the sport. He’s the dive instructor for the official Columbus State University course and is an incredible wealth of knowledge. I went in wanting to just get certified and got so much more. Jerry made sure I got fully certified and explained all the levels of diving; he even personally selected a full dive set for me and gave me all the information on it! Not only does he teach the courses, but he also plans dive trips all over. The community within his dive shop is incredible and there’s always an upcoming trip with spots available. Not only have I got certified at diving, but I’ve made new friends who enjoy the sport and already been on numerous dives just over weekends. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Jerry is always welcoming. The place to go if you are a recreational type. The other one in town really caters to tech divers and they are not all together with customer service, Jerry makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend.

Just getting into scuba, went to buy dive boots, goggles, ect. Jerry spent a crazy amount of time making sure I had what was perfect for me and never once made me feel like he was trying to make a sale. I cant speak for any other locations but if you want to make the right choice the first time and walk away feeling like you were valued not only as a customer but as a new member to the scuba community; go see Jerry.

There were only 7 of us when we started but only 5 girls complete the course. I recommend that if anybody wants to learn or get certified in diving to take this class. He is an patient individual an amazing teacher.

I havent visited Jerry or the shop in a good while as most of the time Im out of state working. The times I visited the shop in the past for equipment purchases or just conversation and a visit Jerry is helpful, attentive to your needs both in preference and cost. I always enjoy a visit to the shop!

I lived for decades under the misconception that I couldnt clear my ears for scuba diving, and Jerry Holland showed me how easy it is with scuba air, and I am kicking myself for wasting so many years when I could have been diving !?! Jerry had me trained up and ready for certification dives in less than two months and I went to Belize with an introductory letter and got my Open Water certification down there. The Dive Master in Belize told me that I was the best prepared student that he ever had, and I felt so confident when we actually dropped into 50 feet that it was easy and natural and totally enjoyable. All the uneasiness over the unknown is eliminated in the pool training, and Jerry is the most thorough and patient instructor that you can possibly imagine. He watches everything that you do so closely, and if he senses that you are uncomfortable or uncertain of any of the underwater skills he will go over them until you are truly ready. I have been on four amazing trips with the Planet Ocean groups, I now have 63 dives and am about to earn my Master Diver card. This is a sport that anyone can do, it is relaxing, it is exciting, the places that we go to dive are some of the most beautiful spots in the world and it just KILLS ME that I didnt start this until age 67 ! SSI training is the best in the business, it is designed to prepare you for a lifetime of safe diving, so you will really learn what you need to know to be comfortable and safe...this is NOT a resort course and I would not recommend that a person take up the sport without really getting prepared. Everything that you will need is available right there at Planet Ocean, the best equipment in the industry and you will not find better pricing. The standard of excellence in instruction, in equipment and in the excursions is all set by Jerry Holland, and you can count on it being right if he is in charge. I started SCUBA lessons with Jerry in 1984. You could not find a more thorough professional to teach this course. Jerry make you an expert in this sport, that can be dangerous, if not taught right. All of this teachings sunk in and stayed with me for all these years. I had the pleasure of going to many of the wonderful Caribbean spots with Jerry and our hometown divers that I miss dearly. So many fun memories!!! I moved away, but I am moving back to TX in December and would still join Jerry on upcoming trips.
