Everyone at this location is extremely professional, kind, helpful, and courteous. They took their time to really help me and I would recommend this location again and again.
Easy timely appointment. Pleasant efficient associates. Thorough eye examine reviewed and shared with you by the Doctor. My new glasses are excellent with no adjustment time to the new lens.Overall excellent experience.
Insurance covered exam, frame and glaasses they charged over 225 dollars. No special tints or treatments. Exam was at 2:30 they closed at 5. Went at opening next day and they refused to change order. So much for 100% guarantee. Wrote to corporate Office, no response. They never offered the free frames and never provided breakdown of charges. They lost 3 customers who had given them over 10 years of Business. Do not trust them.
One bad experience after another with this place - my first time hear was about two months ago when I needed new glasses and my new insurance included Pearl in their network. The experience was fine and I left ordering a new pair of glasses. It wasnt until later that day or the next day I got a call from the office stating that I was misquoted and that if I wanted the glasses that we discussed it would be an additional $150. Well I declined all the extras they had sold me on so that I could keep the glasses at the original price we agreed upon. Two weeks later the so-called scratch resistant lenses were scratched and the coating was starting to tear. I brought them in and was told the lenses are covered under warranty and that they would order them and they would be there in a week. The girl told me that I should not be cleaning them with a microfiber cloth and that is what likely caused the scratch????? Almost two week later I call to see if the lenses were in and I was told they would be another week (they obviously did not order them the first time). I go today and have the lenses replaced and am told there will be a charge of $25 to replace the lenses. When I questioned and said I thought this was covered under a warranty I was told that this was the copay instead of paying the full lens replacement price. Would have been nice to have been notified ahead of time. I highly recommend you take your business somewhere else.
This was the best experience I have had at any vision store and I have been wearing glasses my whole life, contacts for the last 11 years!
This place is amazing!!! Angie & Ross are PHENOMENAL! Been going there for years now, they always helps us with everything we need; no questions asked! The entire staff is great! Highly recommend
The doctor was great as always, but the sales reps are terrible. I selected glasses and when shes itemizing my total, she automatically adds anti glare protection which is A-optional and B-a feature I did not indicate I wanted. Its a completely deceptive sales tactic which Im sure others have unknowingly overlooked. Ill return here for the exam, but Ill be sure to purchase my glasses elsewhere.
My experience was pleasant from start to finish! The staff & doctor were helpful and friendly. Angelica, who helped me select my frames, went above and beyond and spent a significant amount of time helping me find the perfect pair! All costs were clearly explained, and I didnt feel pressured at all. This was my first time at this location and I will certainly be back!
Angie has helped me find glasses twice now and it’s always a great experience. She goes the extra length to find you the perfect pair and makes the experience FUN! The selection here is better than any store I’ve ever been in.
Long-time customer, visited Pearle Vision, today, June 2, 2020. So happy to see everyone is doing well. Excellent service, kind, personal staff---attention to customers and satisfaction outstanding! A pleasure to patronize and applaud such a wonderful business!
I had an eye emergency this morning, very swollen, red, irritated eyes. I was seen by Dr Devore. He was very patient with me, very thorough, with my treatment and I left feeling much better. Thank you Dr Devore, it is Doctors like you that brings professionalism, kindness to each patient you see.If you want someone that will care for your eyes and treat you with care see Dr Devore.
They fixed my glasses free of charge in less than five minutes. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Nice selection in there too.
Staff very helpful when getting exam & walking me through buying first pair of glasses a couple months back....popped in quick see if they repair sunglasses......couldnt be more friendly and fixed them no charge.....nothing but good experiences when dealing with this group
I have been a long time customer of Pearle Vision and will continue to be because of the amazing customer service. Angie has spent endless time helping myself, my wife, my son and my daughter make sure we walked away with the best possible glasses for our each individual person. At times we have had an appointment and were in the store for literally hours figuring things out. And forget about it if you are unsure about something, or if something isnt right and there is a slight chance Angie cant fix it, Ross will save the day. There have been times when the store was jumping a revolving door of customers and yet Ross always finds time to free up space in his swamped schedule to sit and not rush our conversation on any issues that may have occurred, all of which he fixed with a smile on his face. Between Angie and Ross I will never shop anywhere else!I have also referred numerous friends and their families to Pearle Vision and each glasses wearing member of that family walked away overly satisfied.
I came here to get a new pair of glasses due to mine being broken, the doctor or technician took a look at my old ones and determined they can’t be fixed. I was worried about needing a new exam because i already used the one i get with insurance, he assured me it’s not necessary and he could just create me a new lens with the same prescription. The woman at the desk was friendly in helping me pick out new frames, and once i chose my frame, the guy immediately starting working on them and within less then 10 minutes i had a brand new pair of glasses and it was super inexpensive!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
Fantastic service from Angie!!! Two weeks ago I broke the arm of my glasses just before I had to leave for a wedding. After offering a couple of options, Angie replaced the arm on the spot and I was on my way in no time. She was courteous and a pleasure to work with. Thanks again Angie !
Ive been coming to this pearle vision for a number of years now and i will say every single time I come into this store I am greeted with wonderful hellos and the sweetest goodbyes... From the staff to the doctor every one in this store is truly amazing. I will never go any where else to get my glasses or contacts !!
I don’t often review companies online, but I am doing so because want to give glowing reviews of Pearl Vision in Commack. I went there at the end of the year so I could make best use of my insurance allotment. They were wonderful!!!! Besides being kind and courteous, they spent any of time helping me decide what would best fit my needs. I am a new contact user. They were so patient with me! I am very happy with my purchase and could not imagine getting this kind of service anywhere else. Thank you Pearl Vision!!!!
Have been buying my glasses from this store for over 3 decades! Theyve got the best selection of frames and their staff always spends the time to make sure Im completely comfortable and confident with my decision. Its a family run business and you definitely feel like part of the family when youre there. :) Highly recommend Dr. Devore and his staff next time you need a refresher on your glasses or contacts.
My family and I are fairly new customers here, we enjoy and appreciate the customer service by all the staff.
Great service and merchandise. The staff was super friendly and helpful! Definitely would recommend.
Ive been to this Pearle Vision for years, and its always a great experience. Dr. Devore and his staff are always quick to help and treat you like a friend. I highly recommend them!!!
I was recently looking for a place to buy glasses and I was referred to Pearle Vision by the optometrist in Costco. I checked out the reviews on Yelp and I was extremely skeptical. But I gave them a shot regardless, and lo and behold, not only did I have a great experience with them, I came in, found frames, and left with glasses the same day!Friendly staff and with a lab on site, quick service. Thanks again!
I recently had the opportunity to see Dr Devore....I told him missed wearing contact. He said let me examine your eyes and go from there.. after my exam he explained to me the last time I tried contacts it was because they were just for bifocals but the recently came out with contacts for astigmatisms/bifocals and that is what I need. Well all I can say is I am now one happy contact user.. Thank you so much Dr. Devore and his entire team.
Had an amazing experience again today at Pearl Vision in Commack! Ross (the owner) is super friendly, helpful, and the rest of the staff was great too! I have been going to see Dr. DeVore for my eyes for over 15 years and he really knows his stuff! I had a scratched cornea in high school, which he diagnosed and treated it for me and I’ve been loyal ever since! Definitely recommend!
I have been getting my eye glasses at the Pearl Vision in Commack, NY for years. They are so kind and thoughtful there. I love the staff and the way they treat me and now my whole family as well!
I had a very good experience. The people there were so nice. I highly recommend
Everyone here is so nice and they provide excellent customer service especially Angie, Peggy And Abby who were so helpful and sweet . They helped me pick out just the right frame for my faceI’m completely happy with my appointment and pearl vision is lucky to have Angie, Abby and Peggy
I been going there for over 30 years. Dr. Devore and staff are amazing and very helpful. They really help you pick out frames and work with you. Always a good experience.
Abbey and ang found the best glasses for me that weren’t even on the shelf, cant find this service anywhere else from them.
I cannot believe how rude the staff was at my appointment today. If you are not there to spend hundreds of dollars, they dont want you to waste their time. I have a pair of broken frames and they first told me they couldnt order the part. Then all of a sudden when I called another location, they could order the part, but for more money. When I decided to wait and decide what I wanted to do, the woman threw my receipt on the desk and said youre done. I am honestly so appalled at the service and the lack of care/effort of the staff. I will NEVER return to this location and urge others the same.
Abby and Angela like usual provided the best service everytime I come in, they actually care and help pick out lens for you. They make it an experience for you a shopping one u wont forget!
Amazing experiences here! kept coming back every time i want a nicer or brand name pair of glasses. They also have the option for that special computer blocking coating, which for me helped alot. They do tend to run on the more expensive side so my advice if your going here, get something you really want, not some cheap knock around pair.
Awful place with awful people. The staff was incredibly rude and the “grumpy old man” was not polite or patient. He treated his other staff terrible and yelled often at them. He never tried to fix my prescription but instead gave me a hard time. They over charge for everything and don’t listen to their clients. Some were friendly however most were rude and obnoxious. I am definitely going to switch to another place because Pearle has terrible customer service.
I have been going to this location for many years. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable.Would not go anywhere else. Great service.
What a great place! Staff was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Clean place with a great selection and great prices. Couldnt ask for a better place to go for eyewear!
I was in the office for 45 minutes just to complete a simple DMV vision test- which took only 1 minute with the doctor. I was first told that I would need to pay $99 for this, when in fact I was being charged for an optional eye exam and the basic DMV vision test is only $15. The doctor was very rude when I declined the full eye exam, and rushed to complete my DMV form. Turns out, I got my form mailed back from the DMV because he incorrectly filled out my form stating that I failed the eye exam (which included reading 4 letters on the wall). When I called the office to resolve this issue the doctor was extremely rude, did not apologize for the mistake, and hung up on me without saying goodbye when I was not done speaking to him. The women working at the reception are very nice and try to be as helpful as possible despite the lack of communication on the doctors part. I would never return to this office due to the long wait, rude doctor, issues with incorrect pricing/ communication of services needed, and sloppy mistakes made from rushing through patients.
If you have vision insurance skip the grumpy overcharging doctor at the Commack location and head to Costco (they now take insurance). It will cost you 1/3rd the price. If you dont have insurance skip the grumpy overcharging and obnoxious man at the COMMACK location and head to Costco and pay $200 for frames with transition lens.If you are thinking about getting vision insurance skip the useless insurance company and the useless grumpy man and head to Costco. Cash or credit card is better for glasses and contacts than insurance. If you already have vision insurance go see the Grumpy old man. Pay the $15 exam fee, grab your prescription and head to Costco! He thanked me for wasting his time today and now Im thanking him. Hello grumpy! If the grumpy man tried to rip you off too. Please write and let us know. Would love to hear from you!
Love this place
2 years ago I decided to get the blue light filter added to my prescription glasses to help with the glare from being at the computer all day. 2 years later my chronic headaches are gone and the blue light filter has been outstanding!
Terrible experience. Each visit took forever and now the contacts we ordered are taking weeks to be delivered after they said it would be a few days. They wont give you your prescription until you order from them. Ill go to get my contacts and then I will never go there again.**Update - four weeks in...contacts still have not come in, I just called and cancelled the order. They were nice enough to credit my money back. I was stupid to pay full price for the contacts before receiving them. Live and learn.
Why a 5 star review? While many people refer to Dr. D as a grumpy old man in reviews, I will always be thankful to him. My then 4 year old daughter was misdiagnosed and not treated for her eye condition properly by a popular eye practice in Plainview. Because of the discrepancy in her eyes, he gave her another eye exam for free. He insisted she go to another pediatric opthamologist who could treat her amblyopia by patching her eye. When seeing the new doc, we discovered she also had strabismus. Dr. Gerontis had her patching her eye and coming back every 6 months to follow-up. She has normal depth perception now and can see 3d. Her eye prescription improved and her eyes are now stable.Next, Dr. D gave great advice. He told me to let her get any frame she liked because she would be likely to wear it. She did wear them faithfully. Next came my son who at age 2 had astigmatism in both eyes. Me and Dr. D did battle it out and he later apologized but felt strongly that a 2 year old should not have metal frames, only plastic. They could break and cut his eye, which almost happened. I later went to a specialty eye place just to get him very small lenses. Pearle Vision has a great selection but for very young children ( ages 1-3) their selection is limited and I am not a fan of the Mr. Magoo look. We later went back when his head grew.As for the staff, especially Ross who is the owners son and very good at what he does, I cant say enough good things. They are honest, professional, personable, and will try to work with you to make sure you are getting the best deal within reason. For those who claim BJs is cheaper, please think again. They advertised glasses for $39.99 but by the time you add transitions ($100), thin them out ($65), and add anti glare ($65) you are looking at $275 anyway and I can tell you from experience their frames break easily. Both companies warranty their glasses. Pearle Vision was cheaper with insurance but for her backup pair she wanted a style they didnt have but BJs did. They even ran the numbers before I comparison shopped and they were spot on.Yes, the doctor has limited patience at times but he is also a great doctor. He will be honest with his professional opinions even if you dont like them. Some perceive him as grumpy, but I know him as the doctor who helped diagnose and get my daughter the help she needed. Yes the wait can be long at times but getting glasses is as difficult as finding a bathing suit that fits perfectly and makes you look good at all angles and in all shades of light.
Dont waste your $$. Rude and unprofessional. Go to Costco. They were rated #1 in the country by Consumer Reports.
Website and sign on the door says closes at 3pm, at 2pm 6/17/18 myself and 3 other people showed up and the door was locked. Great way to loss clients.
I was there yesterday. I had an appointment and after 45 minutes of lame excuses I decided to leave. I have been a customer of theirs for 35+ years. They did not even have the decency to call me to apologize, so they have lost a very loyal customer.
Top shop! Ross was very helpful!
