We purchased lighting for a 7000 sf commercial building from Rayon in 2014 including their LED Sonoma pendant lights as well as LED pot lights. We were told at the time that the lamps would have a minimum lifetime of 20,000 hours and there was a one year guarantee on the fixtures. Our electrical engineer had recommended these products.The pendant lights began failing almost immediately, and within 6 months of the building opening about half of them had failed. Rayon send us new lamps which were installed by a qualified electrician.The replacement lamps began to fail within a month, and by the time the building was 11 months old, almost half of them had failed.When we pressed another claim against warranty, Rayon told us that in their view the problem was caused by power fluctuations in the building and that our warranty was now void. The building was fitted with a power surge protector and no other lights had failed, even Rayons own pot lights.We were forced to purchase and install replacement lamps from another manufacturer at our own cost, which are now working as per their spec.The building is now 16 months old and Rayons pot lights have begun to fail. We will be replacing these with units from another manufacturer.
